GHOSTBUSTERS vs. Pac-Man Poster

$

With the news that the Ghostbusters reboot finally has a cast in place, it seems fitting to celebrate the original gang by showcasing this cool poster from Lafar (via xombiedirge). This one sees Venkman, Stantz, and Spengler blasting a Pac-Man ghost, with the yellow chomper himself serving as the ghost trap. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be the one with Ray Parker Jr.'s famous Ghostbusters theme song stuck in my head for the rest of the day...

TERMINATOR GENISYS — Details About The Fight Between Old and Young T-800s

$

The Terminator franchise is getting a reboot of sorts with Terminator Genisys. Skynet tries to kill a pre-teen Sarah Connor, she is saved by a T-800 played by Arnold Schwarzenegger that the production crew are calling "The Guardian." That single event has a ripple effect that changes everything in the future.

Some years later in 1984, Connor - raised by a T-800 that she calls "Pops" - works to save Kyle Reese, who finds himself in a newly altered timeline. In the trailer we see the T-800 from the first Terminator emerge from time travel only to be attacked by the aged Guardian T-800.

This battle, according to sources of TheTerminatorFans.com, is going to be a full-on brawl and essentially two tanks in a fist fight. I'm not fully familiar with the site but the production company Skydance (the company producing Genisys) retweeted their post, which I think lends a good amount of credibility.

The sequence will take place at the Griffith Observatory and will be "used to full effect." Which I can only imagine means lots of destruction. Their source gives a little breakdown of what they've seen:

“The battle will be better then the T-800 and T-1000 from T2. The ground will break on the wrestling fight.
In this particular sequence the young digitally enhanced T-800 is doing a forward lunge double fist punch and/or crushing the aged T-800’s face with both its knuckles pile-driving into the real Arnold Schwarzenegger’s metal skull, like something out of a wrestling match.
The aged T-800 has its left arm locked under the T-800’s right shoulder as if it is going to make a deadly move on the younger T-800. The sequence or choreography could change in the finished product but what we’ve seen looks good! The moves will be devastating and the battle will probably be one of the most spectacular scenes in the movie especially in the VFX department.
The young T-800 is unclothed as he does this attack on the aged T-800, while the 3D model of the aged T-800 is wearing the clothing in the Trailer scene when he tells ‘The Terminator’ that he has been waiting for him… This is the equivalent of Tanks colliding, the machines are heavy. Battle damage is an obvious issue when Terminators Fight."

The Guardian T-800 obviously comes out the victor, but will have lots of damage. Connor and Reese make a time jump to our present day where they meet-up with the now white haired T-800.

Apparently after shooting was wrapped and the sequence was being edited, Skydance wanted a bit more action. They already had a CGI young T-800 made from scans of life casts of Schwarzenegger made in 1984 by Stan Winston. They are now going to be creating a fully CGI Guardian T-800 to give them the ability to do some crazy action.

I'm pretty excited to see how the sequence turns out. Griffith Observatory is where I proposed to my lovely wife and seeing it in movies is a real treat to me.

Terminator Genisys saves the franchise July 1st (USA).

Aerial Drone + Roman Candles = Madness

Aerial drones are really fun and we've seen many inventive uses for them. Recently we wrote about people racing them while wearing video goggles. Today, we have a combination of fun and stupid: drones mounted with roman candle fireworks. YouTube user PIEROGRAM also mounted a camera to capture the drone in pursuit of a very daring participant who is (thankfully) wearing some protective gear.

REVERSAL is a Blood-Fueled Revenge Film That Loses Steam - Sundance 2015 Review

reversal-is-a-blood-fueled-revenge-film-that-looses-steam-sundance-2015-review

Director J.M Cravioto has produced a low-budget thriller aimed at making its leading woman hellbent on revenge and restitution. Reversal is a blood-fueled grindhouse revenge film that starts off with all the right elements, but, unfortunately, quickly loses its momentum and ended in a way that that left me thinking, "WTF?"

Chained to a wall and barely alive, Eve (Tina Ivlev) quietly waits for her brooding and malevolent kidnapper Phil (Richard Tyson) to walk into the room. With quick thinking and a massive brick, this rambunctious shitstorm of a situation begins.

Starting in a way that you would personally want most disturbing kidnapping genre movies to end, Eve takes hold of a horrible situation and quickly reverses the tides, going from helpless captive to a gun-toting blonde chick on a rampage! Failing in an attempt to escape the situation, she comes across pictures of other girls in similar circumstances. She quickly fashions an animal grasper made of household items, captures Phil, and reverses the situation. Now taking on the role of a mad vigilante, she strikes a horrible deal with Phil and forcefully makes him lead her to the locations of the other captive women. Sadly, shit predictably hits the fan, the story unfolds redundantly, and it's filled with a combination of bad dialogue, sub-par pacing, and loud noises that brings the unwelcome assurance that you will forget this movie.

Tina Ivlev did a fantastic job at portraying such a tough and intimidating woman. She tackled the role and quickly made you invested in her character. Richard Tyson played quite the creepy villain. The guy had a menacing voice that sounded like a sub-par Mandarin impression, but he successfully crafted a presence that made you want him to die. I wasn’t totally displeased with the cinematography of the film. There were some fun shots that added to the intensity that they were conveying throughout the film. But for the love of everything, put a cap on the amount of found footage.  It was thrown around throughout the film as a feeble attempt to make Eve feel like a real person. It may have been okay to start the film that way, but it quickly became repetitive and annoying. When a film is loaded with bad found footage, its usually the result of lazy writing, harsh deadlines, and a limited budget. I have a feeling this film was plagued with them all.

What troubled me the most about Reversal was its failed attempt to portray the true ruthlessness and workings of human trafficking. While there were some inclinations to the known fact that this horrible thing is happening all around us, it failed at tackling the true horrors of it. Instead, it completely fabricated a vile world of shoddy fiction, which left it feeling vacuous and empty.

Video: Untold Story of CALL OF DUTY "KillCameraman" Randall Higgins

The marketing team for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare have been making really fun videos and trailers. To promote their Havoc DLC expansion that launched yesterday, Activision has released a video titled "Randall Higgins: KillCameraman." This untold story of the cameraman that captures deaths in the game has a very "matter of fact" attitude that carries the humor. You might recognize actor Rob Huebel, who plays Higgins, from shows like Children's Hospital, The Office, and Reno 911!. He's also been in a lot of Funny or Die shorts.

WTF: Kevin Spacey To Become Trapped in a Cat's Body in New Film

$

0

It's 2015, so forgive me if I thought we were done with body-swapping comedies in which a human is trapped in an animal's body. But according to The Wrap, Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld and House of Cards star Kevin Spacey aren't finished with the genre yet - they're teaming for a new film called Nine Lives, in which Spacey will play "a workaholic businessman who suffers a terrible accident that leaves him trapped in the body of the family cat."

EuropaCorp is producing the high-concept comedy, which is written by Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin. Sonnenfeld called the project a "funny, emotional, commercial comedy," but I'm just not sure people will go to see a movie with a plot like that for any reason other than the "WTF" factor of it. I suppose Sonnenfeld has directed weirder things (the MIB franchise is admittedly pretty insane), but at this point, not knowing anything about the project other than its logline, it's tough to figure out why two-time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey would sign on to something this strange. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one, if for no reason other than to satisfy my curiosity about this bizarre-sounding project.

The Force is Strong in This STAR WARS Fan's Apartment

I've met some hardcore Star Wars fans in my life, but no one I know has taken their fandom to the extreme of Korean actor Cho Woong, who has decked out his apartment with enough action figures, toys, and replica weapons that it could basically double as a Star Wars gift shop if he wanted it to. From busts of Darth Maul to his own museum-style info station on the wall, Woong has one of the craziest set-ups I've seen in a personal living space. But here's a question: what's up with those Nightmare Before Christmas figures being mixed in with all of this Star Wars stuff? And is that a robotic arm from Terminator 2 on display, also? If you have this much Star Wars paraphernalia, why wouldn't you keep it pure and store that other stuff somewhere else?

Paul Bettany Will Return as Vision in More Marvel Films

Paul Bettany is an actor I really like, but his choices in roles have been a bit of a mixed bag. The actor has up until now lent his voice to the helpful A.I. JARVIS in the Marvel cineverse, and he'll become the Vision (a helpful android) in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In a recent interview, Bettany spoke about how his new role will help with his career choices, the research he put into playing the character, and more.

He told News Australia:

“That’s the really great thing about the Marvel gig for me. I have never known if I have had a job six months out ever in my life. And now I know that they have plans and I can be even more judicious about the stuff that I do outside of that work. I can wait for the right thing and feel really attached to it.”

Which is great news on all fronts. With Captain America: Civil War shooting in six months, it seems like the Vision will appear in that movie. It also sounds like he will be able to turn down movies like Mortdecai, which Johnny Depp apparently talked him into doing.

Bettany talked about his preparation for the role of Vision and the experience of shooting Age of Ultron:

“I did a lot of research — and my research was watching all of the films. I realised [sic] they are so interlinked and I wanted to understand the universe I was in. So I did and it was a really amazing, fun experience. Everybody made me feel really at home and I have no bad stories — they are really funny people and really creative. I have never seen sets that big in my whole career. I have never seen set pieces like it — we were in a set that felt like a town.”

I can't wait to see how JARVIS changes into the Vision and what the costume he's wearing looks like. Avengers: Age of Ultron starts its box office assault May 1st (USA).

NBA 2K15 Has A Massive GAME OF THRONES Spoiler In It

I try very hard to avoid spoilers for movies I'm excited about and my favorite TV shows. Since I'm on the West Coast, I'll stay off of social media starting three hours before my favorite shows begin, because I've been spoiled too many times by East Coasters revealing huge moments on Twitter. But now, Uproxx points out that I'm going to have to start being on guard 24/7 - even when I'm playing video games. (This should go without saying, but if you aren't caught up with Game of Thrones, then don't read any further.)

Take a look at this screenshot from NBA 2K15:

Look, I understand people who claim it's OK to tweet and Facebook about TV shows the second they air. I get it. It's technically fair game. The burden is on me to avoid that stuff if I can't watch something immediately. But hopefully the video game industry doesn't start making a habit of doing things like this, because I really don't want to worry about having House of Cards or Orange is the New Black or anything else spoiled for me because some programmer thought it'd be funny to drop it in the middle of a fake conversation in a game.

HELLIONS is a Nightmarish Halloween Horror Experience - Sundance 2015 Review

$

Finally: a dark and twisted full-on horror film at Sundance that I could enjoy! Hellions is a psychedelic thrill ride of insanity. I love a good horror flick that plays with your head, and this one does a fun job with that. It also offered some good old-fashioned scares.

One of the things I liked most about this story is that the events in the film unfold on Halloween day during a blood moon year. I love movies that revolve around the devilish holiday, and the story is set in a town that is apparently known for its Halloween pumpkin celebrations. It starts out with a 17-year-old girl named Dora (Chloe Rose) who finds out that she's pregnant. Not long after finding out this shocking news, bad creepy things start to happen to her. It starts out with her hearing voices, and then later, while she stays at home waiting for her boyfriend to come pick her up for a party, terrifying costumed kids start to show up at the house.

These kids aren't normal kids, though. They are more like evil-ass demons called Hellions, and they want to take the girl's newborn baby along with her soul. She does everything she can to fight back and protect herself, and it was refreshing to see her make smarter decisions than characters in other horror movies have made. She goes through a nightmarish hell in the process.

I had such a good time watching her take on these villainous bastard creatures. At one point she is helped by the town sheriff, who is awesomely played by Robert Patrick. I always enjoy seeing him in movies - unfortunately, he wasn't in this one nearly enough.

The visual aspects of this were pretty freakin' cool. There was a lot of experimental stuff going on, but it did a good job of taking the audience into the maddening nightmare that Dora found herself in. I think some of the scenes went on for a little too long, but I get what the director was trying to accomplish, and it was some pretty trippy stuff.

I also loved the look of the child demons in the film. They wore these eerie and unsettling old-school costume designs. They were some of the coolest Halloween inspired costumes that I've seen on film. The movie Trick r' Treat did a great job with that kind of stuff as well. This movie just had a way more surreal vibe to it.

This is a pretty hardcore horror film. There's definitely an audience out there for a movie like this, but not everyone is going to like it. Just because I did, doesn't mean you will. But if you're a fan of the horror genre then you owe it to yourself to check it out.

The movie was directed by Bruce McDonald from a script written by Pascal Trottier. Here's a little description about the film:

It is Halloween night in the town of Waterford, the so-called Pumpkin Capital of the World. Alone at home, teenager Dora Vogel is about to have a very long night. Free to roam undetected among the small town's trick-or-treaters, a group of masked demonic beings knock on unsuspecting Dora's door. Before long, she is cut off from the outside world, under siege in her isolated home for reasons she does not understand. Alone in the dark, Dora will need to defend both her body and her soul from the relentless evil beings known as hellions.
Twenty-three years after screening Highway 61 at the Sundance Film Festival, director Bruce McDonald returns to the Park City at Midnight section with a bag full of devilish tricks guaranteed to leave our late-night crowd in screams. McDonald brilliantly pushes a highly cinematic visual and audio landscape of Halloween horror iconography into frightening new realms of terror. You’ve been warned!

Top 10: The Best Rides in Gaming

While most of the most iconic vehicles that we know and love originated in film, TV, and comics, gaming has started to carve out its own pantheon of killer rides. So with that, let's get to my (and I do emphasize my, here) top ten best rides in gaming.

HALO: The Ghost

H4ghost.png

If you say "Halo," two vehicles will undoubtedly come up: The Warthog and the Ghost. While the Warthog might more popular, the Ghost is the better vehicle. Its silky smooth controls and accompanying plasma cannons make this my go-to vehicle in a game full of great options (one of which we'll get to later in this list). While not the most durable, its agility more than makes up for it.

MASS EFFECT: The Normandy

The Normandy is one of the few vehicles that isn't just used to get you from point A to point B. The starship is also your home base of operations, and even though it sees a few redesigns along the way, you still grow attached to it over all three games. Sure, there are tons of sci-fi ships out there, but few have the relationship with the player that the Normandy does.

TWISTED METAL: Sweet Tooth's Ice Cream Truck

In the 90s and early 2000s, there were fewer games more popular than Twisted Metal, and while there are certainly more “out there” vehicle designs in the game, my favorite was always Sweet Tooth. To turn a beloved vehicle like an ice cream truck into a killing machine takes a certain disregard for childhood memories, and the character's chaotic and evil nature sealed the deal.

MARIO: Yoshi

Of all the characters featured in the Mario universe, I think Yoshi has to be the most grounded - not to mention patient of the bunch. The lovable dinosaur has headlined several of his own games and become massively popular in his own right, yet come new Mario game release time still has to put the damn plumber on his back to trot him around from star to star. Luigi hasn’t sold half the games Yoshi has, and he doesn’t have to do that. Such a shame.

FINAL FANTASY VIII: Ragnarok

While you can’t do as much on this ship as the Normandy (though it does contain save and draw points), the design is much more intense, with no trace of subtlety. Made to look like a spaceship was inhaled by a dragon, this ship is ingrained in my memory, even if other parts of FF VIII are harder to remember.

MARIO KART: Bowser's Kart

Bowser is king of the koopas, but if you don’t know what a koopa is, just imagine that Figment and Raphael had a baby, then gave it no love or attention, and BOOM: you have Bowser. As such, he deserves a vehicle no less outlandish, and this variation of his Kart (from Mario Kart, of course) is the bee's knees. Giant tires, spikes, and some big ol' teeth complete the package.

And yes, I am aware I used “bee's knees” in an article, and hopefully you can forgive me for my grievous error.

METROID: Samus' Gunship

One of the coolest ship designs, period. From its beautiful collage of Samus-style colors to its distinct shape, this thing is instantly recognizable. This makes it hard to avoid the paparazzi when it's in for servicing, but if you’re going to be famous, guess you take the good with the bad. It remains one of the slickest spaceship designs in video games.

ZONE OF THE ENDERS: Neith

pic_z_neith.jpg

Even though Jehuty is the main star of Zone of the Enders, Neith is the more stylish and original design. The Tron-like lines combined with the in-your-face red color palette, all bouncing off that slick visor, make this my favorite mech design of recent memory.

HALO: Brute Chopper

Yeah yeah, I know. The first comment will be "SERIOUSLY! Over the warthog?!" To that I say yes, and mostly due to a particularly fun gaming memory involving Halo Reach and, well, a picture is worth a thousand words:

(This fellow out in front represents the rest of my team.)

Heh heh - didn’t say it was a fair experience, but damn, it was fun. These things are so all over the place and unwieldy they make even the most boring skirmishes a blast.

SKIES OF ARCADIA: The Bloodlust

Gordos_ship.jpg

Rounding out our ships category is The Bloodlust. There are many stellar ship designs in Skies of Arcadia, but this one stuck out to me, mainly because it makes me think of barbecue, even with all the spikes and guns. The eyes on the side are hilarious, yet somehow still kind of imposing. Don't lie, if your local barbecue place had this as their catering truck, you would order from them anytime.

So that’s it, that’s my list. If you have others you think should be on here or just want to dicuss your favorites, let me know in the comments.

Matthew McConaughey Will Lead True-Life Tale BORN TO RUN

$

Matthew McConaughey has experienced a hell of a career resurgence over the past few years, and it looks like he's trying to keep the ball rolling. Deadline reports that he'll star in Born to Run, an adaptation of Christopher McDougall’s best-selling book Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, And The Greatest Race The World Has Never Seen. Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z, The Kingdom) is writing the screenplay, but no director is attached yet.

The book tells the true story of a journalist/runner who visited Mexico's Copper Canyons to learn from the Tarahumara Indians, a tribe who trained themselves to run for hundreds of miles without injury or rest. The climax involves a big race between the tribe members and some of America's best runners.

This seems like a cool, small scale project for McConaughey, and it's clear that he's been making the right career choices lately, so I'm definitely interested in seeing what he does with this one. I wouldn't be surprised if he roped in a director he's worked with before - it seems like anyone from Richard Linklater to Brad Furman could put their stamp on this one, so we'll see who ends up sitting in the director's chair when this eventually gets rolling.

Floating IRON MAN - Mark II is Impractically Rad

Sure, you might have the coolest Hot Toys/Sideshow Collectibles movie replica of Iron Man, but can he float and shoot light out of his eyes, hands, and feet? If not, we might have your next desk toy.

There are two editions of the Egg Attack - Iron Man 3: Mark II Magnetic Floating Figure. The "Special Edition" has a light grey finish and is available for about $144 from Hobby Link Japan. There is also a "Limited Edition" with a dark shiny gun-metal finish that I have not been able to find - it's apparently been sold out since December of 2014 and started at about $200. Both editions feature LED lighting in Iron Man's hands, eyes, feet, and base. The base can be powered by eight AAA batteries or powered by a wall outlet.

iron_man_mk_ii_egg_attack_magnetic_floating_model_by_beast_kingdom_4-620x877.jpg

Watching the videos below should give you some idea of what they look like. The first video is in Chinese so you will need to enable captions/subtitles to understand what's being said. The second video shows off the Limited Edition model, which I prefer.

Both of these are really cool and I would happily put one on my desk, but I might be better off using the money to buy a better desk.

Yes, I promise that all those words in the headline do indeed come together in this video, which comes from a company called UKF for a band called Savant. It features a Ghost Rider-looking crew of supernatural cowboys facing off against a band of steampunk cowboys in an old west saloon, and the bullets start flying almost immediately. A Visual Guide to Marvel Character Movie Rights

a-visual-guide-to-marvel-character-movie-rights

I've come to learn that there are still a lot of people and fans out there who don't know what exactly is going on with the rights of certain Marvel characters, and which studios own what characters. To make things incredibly easy for you, we have a visual guide to check out that was created by artist and writer Maurice Mitchell of the The Geek Twins.

I already knew about most of these, but the one bit of information I was unfamiliar with was the fact that Lionsgate only owns the right to one character, and that character is Man-Thing. I wonder if they will actually ever do anything with it. If they do ever do anything with it, I'm sure it will bomb, but if Marvel ever did anything with it, I bet it would be box-office gold.

My question is...what prompted them to acquire the rights to Man-Thing?!

What Does Dan Aykroyd Think of the New GHOSTBUSTERS Cast?

what-does-dan-aykroyd-think-of-the-new-ghostbusters-cast

We recently learned that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones have joined the cast of Paul Feige's Ghostbusters reboot. Fans don't seem too happy with the casting, or the direction that the movie is going. I'm not really that excited about it either. It's going to be interesting to see how well this movie does at the box office. One of our readers, who goes by the name of spynet315, gave a pretty cool alternate line-up of actors that you can read in the comment section in the link above.

As you know, Dan Aykroyd has been trying to get a third Ghostbusters movie off the ground for years. He wasn't able to make it happen, so a reboot is on the way. When I first heard the casting news, I was curious to see what he thought of it, and this is what he had to say in an interview with THR:

"The Aykroyd family is delighted by this inheritance of the Ghostbusters torch by these most magnificent women in comedy.
"My great grandfather, Dr. Sam Aykroyd, the original Ghostbuster, was a man who empowered women in his day, and this is a beautiful development in the legacy of our family business.”

So that's what he thinks about it. I'm all for the empowerment of woman, but what Feige and Sony are doing by attempting to reboot this franchise is disheartening. I'm just such a huge fan of Ghostbusters, and it's hard for me to accept that this is really happening. I would have much rather seen another sequel.

Jason Momoa Talks AQUAMAN Secrecy, His Look, and Snyder's DC Cineverse Plans

Fan Art by Rahzzah

Jason Momoa does not look like the comic book hero Aquaman, but he does make a very believable King of the Seven Seas. Having played varied roles like Conan The Barbarian, a lifeguard on Baywatch, an alien on Stargate, and Drogo on Game of Thrones, Momoa has the ability to bring a presence to the role that few actors could match.

While at Sundance on the Smart Works panel, Momoa finally answered questions about how he came on board to the project, what he might look like in the role, and what we might expect translated from the comic to the screen.

“Well, things are going to be a little different. When I first went in I met with Zack (Snyder). His idea is pretty amazing. When I went in, he told me...my jaw kind of dropped. My jaw doesn't normally drop. What he has planned for the DC world and for...definitely for Aquaman is something that, you know...I think I was brought on for a certain reason and they got some really cool plans for him. I'm really excited for everyone to see it.”

Snyder and DC/WB had initially intended to keep Momoa's reveal a secret until 2016 - it was going to be a surprise in the film. After numerous leaks, "the cat was out of the bag" and official confirmation came down. Here's Momoa on keeping the failed secret:

“Last year, when I was on this panel I was like eating chicken breasts and in training when I wasn't supposed to talk about anything. I wasn't supposed to say anything until 2016. So I told a bunch of people that they could punch me in the face if I was on it, so I'm going to get hit a couple times. But they finally released it. I was supposed to keep it a secret for 3 years.”

The actor was asked if Aquaman will sport a beard and mustache:

"I don't think he is going to be blonde or white. I can't really tell you because I haven't shot it yet. I hate to disappoint. But um, you know, I'm a little different than what those others. I hope you watch it with an open heart.”

I think Momoa is going to be an amazing Aquaman and it sounds like Snyder and team have something big in store for the character.

Review: ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK's Snake Plissken Sixth-Scale Figure from Sideshow

$

There may be some young whippersnappers reading GeekTyrant who don’t know who Snake Plissken is. To you I say, get thee to a nunnery. Or really, just Amazon, where you can stream John Carpenter's Escape From New York. Snake Plissken is a badass’ badass. A special forces soldier turned rebel turned turned prisoner turned man on a mission, he always lives by his own conscience, and he is the man who made Kurt Russell a badass. Now, Sideshow Collectibles has immortalized him in a 1/6 Scale Figure. And because I am luckier than you, they sent me one to review.

Unlike some other Sideshow figures, Snake Plissken only comes with one face/head, but that isn’t because they were too lazy to make more faces, it’s because Plissken only has one facial expression. He sneers without sneering, and this figure captures that almost-sneer perfectly. Plus, the wizards at Sideshow spent the time they saved by making only one face on developing a plastic hand with fingers flexible/tense enough to hold a 1/6 scale cigarette, which is amazing. (Note: GeekTyrant does not endorse smoking. It kills your LARPing endurance.) The figure comes with a total of four sets of hands, each able to hold a weapon or a cassette tape. Yes, one of the accessories is a cassette tape, because, as you remember, the tape was kind of the entire point of Snake’s mission. Other accessories include guns, bullets, various throwing stars, a belt with a real buckle, and some incredible tech, like a giant digital wrist timer, tracker, homing device, and radio. Basically, anything Snake touched in the movie is included with the figure. Just not Ox Baker.

The clothes are, as ever with Sideshow, perfectly tailored. I kind of wish their seamstresses and tailors would work up a wardrobe for me. Snake wears a brown leather motorcycle jacket and winter camo pants. The pattern on the pants is a little strange. It is an exact match to the movie pants, but somehow it seems a touch too ordered. If you remove the jacket, you find a black sleeveless t-shirt, also a perfect match to the movie costume, and if you remove the shirt, (which I did, for science), you will find a massive black cobra tattoo, again, a perfect match to what is seen on screen. He is also wearing combat boots and catcher's shin guards, which is one of Plissken's more baffling eccentricities (and possibly a nod to Russell's former career as a ballplayer).

As ever, this is a top quality, well-constructed figure from Sideshow. There is a remake of Escape From New York in the works, because of course there is. But Russell's Snake Plissken was lightning in a bottle, a true original, and you are going to want that original on your shelf. The Snake Plissken Sixth-Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles can be yours for $159.99 and is available for preorder now.
