Funny Film Clip from Wes Anderson's MOONRISE KINGDOM

Here's a great film clip from director Wes Anderson's new awesomely odd looking film Moonrise Kingdom. Anderson's films are hit and miss for some people. it all depends on your style of humor. I think his stuff is hilarious. Like this clip below, some of you might not think it's funny, but I do. In the clip Edward Norton and Bruce Willis face-off with a very stern and intimidating Tilda Swinton

The film has a great cast of actors that includes Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Jared Gilman, and Kara Hayward.

Here's a description of the movie:

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, "Moonrise Kingdom" follows a young boy and girl falling in love. When they are moved to run away together, various factions of the town mobilize to search for them and the town is turned upside down – which might not be such a bad thing. Willis plays the town sheriff; Norton is cast as a camp leader; Murray and McDormand portray the young girl’s parents.

The movie comes out on May 25th, 2012. Did you find the clip humorous?

Geek Art: Dracula James Bond - Agent 00-

Here's a fun image that made me laugh featuring a Dracula James Bond. The piece was created by Mike Bell and it's cleverly titled Agent 00-. How long do you think it will be before Hollywood makes a movie about Dracula being a secret agent or spy? I'd be surprised if it hasn't already been done.

THE WOLVERINE Shooting in Australia this August

It's recently been announced that Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Girl Interrupted) will be heading to Australia in August to start shooting The Wolverine. It will be shot in Jackman's hometown of Sydney. Yes, the story is still set in Japan, they'll just use movie magic to turn Australia into Japan. Jackman's obviously very excited about it saying,

I couldn't be more excited to return to Australia to film the next chapter in the Wolverine saga, thanks to the significant support from the federal and NSW governments. It will be great to work with the highly talented crew and to provide employment opportunities to so many people across all levels of the industry. Not to mention, [wife] Deb and I will get to spend some time with the family back in Australia.

The film has a budget of $80 million dollars and shooting the movie in Australia will create more than 720 jobs for NSW-based cast and crew, along with opportunities for as many as 1,200 extras. The majority of the film's post-production will be completed in the U.S., but they will be assisted by some Australia-based companies.

The feature is based the classic Chris Claremont and Frank Miller 1982 story arc in the Wolverine comics. The story will follow Logan, who starts "a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai."

The Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26th, 2013. As much as I disliked X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I'm excited for this sequel. It's a got a much better director, and a story everyone wants to see.

Tony Danza to Play Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Father in JGL's Directorial Debut

As a huge fan of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot this piece of trivia: Tony Danza played the young actor's father in the 1994 Disney baseball film Angels in the Outfield.

It looks at least one person thought that relationship worked on screen, because according to Variety, Danza is set to play Gordon-Levitt's father again in Jo-Go's directorial debut. Up until this point (and hell, still at this point) we don't know THAT much about the plot of the film. All we know so far is that Gordon-Levitt plays a modern day Don Juan who tries to become less of a "selfish dick." At least this story gives us a couple brief updates: Gordon-Levitt's character will be addicted to porn and he'll be from New Jersey (which is no surprise, considering Danza's New England heritage).

So we still don't know a ton about it, but with Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Gordon-Levitt, and yes, even Danza on board, you can count me in. I can't wait to see what JGL has up his sleeve for this movie, but you know it'll be a personal story: he wrote it, will direct it, and stars in it, so it's obviously a passion project.

What do you think about Tony Danza coming back to the big screen?

Here's Hot Toys' awesomely detailed Captain America 1/6 scale action figure from Marvel's The Avengers. This is part of a line of action figures that the toy company is creating for the film.

Hot Toys is proud to present the collectible figure of the great superhero from the Marvel Studios - the 1/6th scale Captain America Limited Edition Collectible Figurine from the upcoming blockbuster The Avengers movie. The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Chris Evans as Captain America in his hero costume in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head sculpt, highly detailed costume and weapons.

I'm excited to see how their Hulk figure is going to turn out. These things are so cool. I own the WWII Captain America figure, and I'll make an effort to get my hands on a couple of these if I can find enough extra change in my couch cushions. What do you think of the latest Avengers figure? Click here to see Nick Furyhere to see Hawkeye and here to see Iron Man Mark VI.

Dear Robert Pattinson, I Have Faith In You...You Magnificent Bastard.

Dear Robert Pattinson,

I must say I never thought I'd see the day. Let me just start things off by saying until now, I've only known you as the twinkly Edward Cullen, who made me put my foot down and wipe the Twilight movie from my memory with a simple "Hang on tight spider monkey". It was you that put me to sleep as my girlfriend nearly wept at your performance in Water For Elephants, and has since continued to pressure me to watch Remember Me. Perhaps the final straw came at the very start though, when you played the same bastard who collapsed the possibility of Harry Potter ever bagging Cho Chang. You may not know me Mr. Pattinson, but rest assured, I know you.

Despite my grievances, anger, and blind rage at my woman's lust for you...dammit I respect you. I just saw the trailer for Cosmopolis and even though it has yet to hit theaters, bravo for doing something many men in your position never accomplished. You've succeeded where Hayden Christensen, Daniel Radcliffe (thus far), Mark Hamill, and Ralph Macchio never could. You became a sensation, an icon, the face of a franchise, and you still managed to land an acting role where you escape the role. Not just any role mind you, you're working with David Motherf****** Cronenberg!

The Fly, A History of Violence, and Naked Lunch. Impressive, to say the least, that he found you worthy of a role in one of his films. Not to mention you look like a total boss in that short clip. It's too soon to tell but I dare say you will become one of the greats in this industry. I have faith in it. Although I still dislike you...kind of.

May you always sparkle in the sunlight,

Robot Reagan

New STAR TREK TV Series Could Happen After Next Movie

$

I think it's safe to say that one day we'll see a new Star Trek series on TV, and Bryan Fuller (Pushing DaisesHeroes) and filmmaker Bryan Singer have been discussing ways to bring it back. If anyone can get it back on TV it's these two guys. In a recent interview with EW, Fuller said that if the series is going to happen, it will happen after the big screen sequel that J.J. Abrams is currently creating.

Bryan and I are big fans of Trek and have discussed a take on what we would do, and we would love to do it. I don’t think anything is going to happen in any official capacity until after the next movie comes out. And I'm sure it would be wisely under J.J. Abrams' purview of what happens. He’s the guardian of Trek right now.

The sequel is set to be released on May 17th 2013, and I suspect it still might be a few years until we see a new TV series, but I'm confident that it'll happen. When it does, I think it's going to end up being a pretty epic return to TV.

What would you like to see happen in a new Star Trek series?

Mark Wahlberg to Join the Comedy AVON MAN

Mark Wahlberg is currently in talks with 20th Century Fox to star in and produce a new comedy called Avon Man. Hugh Jackman was once attached to the project, but ended up dropping out to focus on The Wolverine. The movie was originally going to be directed by Kevin Lima, but he's no longer attached to it either.

The story follows a group of guys that "are laid off from an auto dealership, and one reluctantly becomes an Avon salesman. He survives the emasculation, relies on his charm and becomes a top seller. He then tries to save his town and help his struggling family by pulling in his macho unemployed pals to hawk beauty products so they can win a regional contest." I can easily see Wahlberg taking on a role like this. It fits his comedy style perfectly.

Wahlberg is one hell of a busy actor these days! The next film we'll see him in will be the Seth MacFarlane-directed comedy Ted, which looks hilarious. He also just got finished shooting a film with Russell Crowe called Broken City, and now he's currently shooting the Michael Bay movie Pain and Gain. After he's done with that he will start work with Denzel Washington on the movie 2 Guns as well as the Peter Berg-directed film Lone Survivor. It must be nice to never have to worry about getting a job ever again.

Does this sound like it could be a good comedy? What would you say you're favorite Wahlberg movie is?

PROMETHEUS' Guy Pearce to join IRON MAN 3

Though Lockout was essentially locked out of critics and audiences' hearts, that won't stop the career of Guy Pearce, who's set to star in Ridley Scott's eagerly waited return to sci-fi, Prometheus. Today, Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that Pearce will board Shane Black's Iron Man 3 as geneticist Dr. Aldrich Killian. Killian appears in the "Iron Man" comics in Warren Ellis' "Extremis" run, which this film has long been rumored to be involved in. "Extremis" involves a mysterious nanotech virus.

Of course, this isn't the first Disney project for Pearce. He previously starred as the villain in Adam Sandler's Disney debut, Bedtime Stories. You have to give Marvel Studios props for going above and beyond to cast the right actors for the Iron Man movie villains - all of them (with the exception of Faran TahirSam Rockwell and Pearce) are played by Oscar-winning actors. Iron Man 3 has Robert Downey, Jr. reprising his role as the title character, with Gwenyth PaltrowDon CheadleScarlett Johansson and Ben Kingsley. The film starts production this summer in North Carolina and will be released on May 3, 2013. Do you think Pearce can meanace Tony Stark?

I seriously didn't think that this awesome voice would come out of this 14-year-old kids mouth. It's pretty incredible. His name is Jake Foushee, and he very well could end up being the future voice of movie trailers. He also does a fantastic Optimus Prime impression that I've also included. I was kind of blown away. Check out the videos below and let us know what you think about Jake's voice.

Red-Band Trailer for Adrian Brody's Crazy Pot Comedy HIGH SCHOOL

Here's a new Red-Band trailer for the funny pot-comedy, High School, which stars Adrian Brody in one of the craziest roles he's ever done. Seriously, he's an insane nutcase in the film and if you need any reason to see this movie, it's to see Brody go nuts. I saw the film up at Sundance a couple of years ago, and I thought it was a great comedy. You can read my review of the film here.

The film was directed by John Stalberg, and also stars Michael Chiklis, Colin Hanks, Sean Marqutte, and Matt Burke.

Here's the Synopsis:

The day after soon-to-be valedictorian Henry Burke (Matt Bush) takes a hit of the chronic for the first time, his school principal (Michael Chiklis) institutes a zero tolerance drug policy and administers a mandatory drug test for all students. Henry has two options: fail and lose his college scholarship, or team up with his stoner friend Breaux (Sean Marquette) to beat the system. They steal a high powered ganja from law student-turned-drug-dealer Psycho Ed (Adrien Brody) and spike the school's bake sale brownies, getting the whole school--faculty included--completely stoned out of their minds. But with the student body getting higher and higher with every brownie, and a pissed-off Psycho Ed on their tails for stealing his stash, they must find a way to keep their half-baked plan from going up in smoke.

The movie will hit theaters June 1st, 2012. Watch the red-band trailer and let us know if this is a film you'll want to check out. Just a reminder... this trailer is NSFW.

JOURNEY 2 Director to Take on LOBO Comic Adaptation

Warner Bros. has made an interesting choice on who will direct the big screen adaptation of the comic book Lobo. They've hired Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton to take it on. I'm not sure how this guy got the gig, the other film he directed was Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. I just don't think that Peyton sounds like Lobo material, but who knows what he has planned. After all, he was able to win over Warner Bros. and get hired by them.

Lobo is a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.

At one point Guy Ritchie was slated to direct the movie that follows an interstellar alien badass bounty hunter. At the time he ended up dropping out to focus on Sherlock Holmes 2. One of the first scripts for the movie was written by Don Payne, and Joel SilverAkiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona set to produce the flick.

What are your thoughts on Peyton bringing this character to life on the big screen?

Red-Band Trailer for THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT starring Emily Blunt and Jason Segel

A hilarious red-band trailer has been released for the Jason Segel and Emily Blunt comedy The Five Year Engagement. The movie focuses on what happens when an engaged couple keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. For those of you who have been engaged you know how crazy that stretch of time can be; between the engagement and the wedding. I'm sure you've all got stories, unless it was a very smooth and uneventful ride.

The movie was directed by Nicholas Stoller (Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and also stars Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Mindy Kaling, Jackie Weaver and Rhys Ifans. The movie was produced by Judd Apatow, and the screenplay was co-written by Segel and Stoller.

I've enjoyed all of the films that these guys have made together, and judging from this trailer, the movie looks pretty damn funny, so bring on the entertainment and laughs! The movie comes out on April 27th, 2012.

PROTOTYPE 2 - Live Action Trailer Gets All Sentimental on You

There sure has been a slew of live action trailers for games in recent years, and I am still not sure how I feel about them. More STAR TREK 2 Set Photos of Spock in that Volcano Suit

Earlier this week we showed you an image of Zachary Quinto as Spock hanging from some wires while wearing an uncomfortable looking Volcano suit on the set of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2. We've got a bunch of other pictures giving us a closer look at the suit that he'll be wearing. Here's the description that came with the original image,

After first rehearsing the scene with Spock's stunt double actor, Zachary Quinto was then rigged to a wire in front of a large green screen and lifted to a height of 10 stories high then dropped at a high rate of speed as if he was falling. In the scene Spock is wearing a 'Volcano Suit' and carrying an unknown piece of equipment with the Starfleet emblem. A volcano is somehow involved in this scene. The crew had a real fire burning off camera to catch the fire reflections on Spock's 'Volcano Suit'.

It'll be cool to see, on the big screen, what is actually taking place in this scene that was shot. I can't wait to see what Abrams has planned for us with this movie. I loved the first film, and I hope the sequel turns out even better. What do you think is going on in the scene?

Disney has picked up a new spec for a potential film called Ground Control To Major Tom. And yes, the title of the film is a line from the David Dowie song Space Oddity

There's not much information on what the movie will be about, but it will be a romantic comedy written by Jason Micallef and directed by Seth Gordon, who most recently directed the awesome comedy Horrible Bosses. His next film will be Identity Theft with Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman.

The studio paid a mid six figures for this spec, so they must have saw something good in it. We'll find out soon enough.
