Frank Grillo Teases Crossbones in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

0
0

It has been expected that Frank Grillo would return to the Marvel universe in Captain America: Civil War and reprise his role of Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. In a recent interview with EW, he confirmed that the studio has invited him back for some more action. Here’s what he said:

“[Winter Soldier] was only a taste of what’s to come with the next film, and I couldn’t be more humbled and excited. They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove…. We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’”

So that’s how they get those costumes looking so good on the actors! I need to get myself a body scan for a superhero outfit of my own.

Grillo will join Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Jeremy Renner has said there are “whispers” of Hawkeye making an appearance as well. Daniel Bruhl was recently cast in a mystery role, and Chadwick Boseman will make his Marvel debut as Black Panther before getting his own solo film in November of 2017.

The movie is being written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and it will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It's set to be released on May 6th, 2016.

Sweded Trailer for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

The trailer for Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron has gone through the sweding process, thanks to Dumb Drum, and it looks as ridiculous as any sweded trailer would. I enjoy watching these videos because you get to see how creative people can get when they are forced to turn big budget special effects into absurd low-budget effects using homemade materials. I’ve gotta say that I love the cardboard Huklbuster armor they built for this.

Final Trailer for THE INTERVIEW - “Meet Kim Jong-Un”

The Interview jamesfranco894949

The final trailer has been released for the James Franco and Seth Rogen Kim Jong-Un assassination comedy, The Interview. The trailer is called “Meet Kim Jong-Un,” and it’s loaded with hilarious new footage from the movie. In an interview with Commingsoon.net, Rogen talked about their plan for shooting the film and what they were tying to accomplish.

“We actually based it more on political thrillers like Ridley Scott movies and Michael Mann movies. We tried to use a lot of long lenses and we probably played some of the scenes tighter than they generally would in these types of comedies. To us, the fact that it looks kind of serious and has this weight to it makes it funnier, because it really looks like we’re stuck in like a serious political thriller.”

You can tell from the trailers that they had a ton of fun making this flick. Here’s the synopsis for the action comedy:

Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show "Skylark Tonight." When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

The movie is set to be released on December 25th, 2014.

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher on Set of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - Vintage Photo

Here’s a great vintage photo that I’ve never seen before featuring Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher on the set of The Empire Strikes Back. It was recently revealed by Robert Englund that Hamill had a crush on Fisher during the production of these films, and the two of them look adorably happy in this photo. I have to say that the coolest thing in this photo are the freakin’ awesome Star Wars production winter coats they are wearing! Where in the hell can I get one of those!?

HBO has offered up official details and casting information on the highly anticipated True Detective Season 2. It was previously announced that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have been cast as two of four lead characters in the story. We’ve now learned that Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams have been confirmed, along with Kelly Reilly.

True Detective Season 2 comes with the logline, “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.” Below, you will find the main character details and new plot information thanks a press release from HBO.

Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.

Vince Vaughn as Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.

Rachel McAdams as Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves.

Taylor Kitsch as Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.

Kelly Reilly as Jordan, Frank Semyon’s wife, a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.

I can’t wait to see what series creator Nic Pizzolatto has come up with for this. Shooting on True Detective Season 2 is already underway in California. The second season will consist of eight hourlong episodes, and Justin Lin is directing the first two installments.

Artist Gerald Parel created these beautifully dark illustrations of Batman and Bizarro. This isn't the first art we've posted from this artist either. You can check out his Master of the Universe art here, and his RoboCop art here. The guy is crazy talented, and his style is freakin' cool. It kind of has an old-school feel to it, but is still fresh and modern.

Here’s a awesomely gut-wrenching video supercut that features 60-seconds of badass bone breaking scenes from movies. Let's see if you can actually get through the whole video of gruesome bone-breaking insanity!

Welcome to sixty seconds of pure bone crunching movie madness, many things can make a film scene cringe worthy, a ridiculous fight scene (Daredevil we're looking at you), corny one-liners or just any of Nic Cage's accents. But bone breaking has the power to make everyone wince once in a while. Share and Enjoy!

I definitely cringed a couple of times. I’ve never ever broken any kind of bone in my body, and I’m hoping that I get through this life without hearing the sound of my own bones snapping… Knock on wood!

Action-Packed Spot for Marvel's AGENT CARTER

“I didn’t know our government had such good taste in secretaries.”

That's definitely something that you wouldn't want to say to Agent Peggy Carter, especially after seeing her kick some ass in this new action-packed spot for Marvel's Agent Carter. I'm really excited for this series, and I think it's so cool that Marvel managed to get the same actors from Captain America: The First Avenger to star in it.

The series stars Hayley Atwell, Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley. The series was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who are also currently writing Captain America: Civil War

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger," Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts. But no one should ever underestimate Peggy. It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America. When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy - the only person he can trust - to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he’s going to be able to keep up with Peggy. If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

The series is set to premiere on January 6th, 2015 on ABC.

THE WALKING DEAD Season 5 Ep. 8 Sneak Peek - “Coda”

the-walking-dead-season-5-ep-8-sneak-peek-coda

The shit is going to hit the fan in the upcoming mid-season finale of The Walking Dead. I have to say I was kind of pissed off at how the most recent episode ended. I won’t spoil anything in case you haven’t seen it yet, but I will say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone on the show act as stupid as that one character did at the end of the episode. That was just so damn predicable that I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. It was the first time that I think I've rolled my eyes at a character in this series, but it will push the story forward, and next week things are sure to get ugly. I just hope our characters don't get dumber along the way. On the bright side of things, I do like how Rick is being handled this season. Everyone is slowly bringing back the humanity within him. The next episode is called "Coda," and we have a promo trailer for you to watch today for it. Here’s a brief synopsis:

Rick seeks a peaceful agreement when rules and morals are tossed aside by new enemies.

I also included a couple of behind-the-scenes videos for the last episode, which was titled “Crossed.”

Super Power Beat Down - Batman vs. Darth Vader

"I underestimate... nothing"

A new episode of Machinima's Super Power Beat Down has been released, and this one pits Batman against Darth Vader! This is an exciting episode that I think fans are really going to love. The quality of this web-series is always impressive, but this is definitely one of the best ones that they've unleashed.

The 14th episode of Super Power Beat Down is also far and away the best-looking and most epic episode ever - Batman vs. Darth Vader. This will be Batman's third appearance and Darth Vadar's second appearance in the beloved live-action series that pits two super powered legends in a winner-take-all battle - with the victor determined by more than a 1/4 million fans who cast their votes on the SPBD home page. The Caped Crusader is currently 1-1 on SPBD, with a decisive victory over Deadpool and a crushing defeat at the hands of Wolverine. Vader, meanwhile won his only death match as he took down Gandalf in 2012.

Today, fans gave chosen between the power of the Dark Side and the Dark Knight in the most anticipated SPBD ever.  Batman races to the Death Star to save an ally, but Vader stands in his way. It's the biggest battle yet of SPBD, featuring the Batplane, lightsabers, Stormtroopers, and of course, the Force.

This episode was directed by filmmaker Aaron Shoenke, who is best known for his independent Batman-genre fan films, and it stars Kevin Porter (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, The Chronicles of Curtis Tucker) as Batman.

Watch the video below, and let us know what you think of the outcome. Do you agree or disagree?

JURASSIC WORLD — First Full Trailer

The first full trailer for Jurassic World is here two days earlier than expected. I guess Universal Pictures/Legendary Pictures wanted to give people something to share or talk about during Thanksgiving. I don't want to spoil any surprises in the trailer, but the end shot has left me with a bunch of questions. This seems like the perfect movie for 3D.

The Jurassic World park opens June 12, 2015 (USA).

Darth Vader Vs. Doctor Doom in Art by Alex Ross

Legendary comic artist Alex Ross showed off this insanely cool illustration called "Darth Vader Vs. Doc Doom." I would have never thought of seeing these two characters battling it out, but here it is, in all its radical glory. Ross created the piece for a friend, and I'm sure that friend pissed in his pants when he saw this.

Spectacular Trailer for PAN with Hugh Jackman and Rooney Mara

Director Joe Wright's Peter Pan inspired film, Pan, looks absolutely incredible. We've got the first full trailer to share with you today, and it's really quite magical. This could possibly be the best live-action adaptation of Peter Pan yet. The trailer shows off some very vibrant visuals and impressive looking set-pieces. I have to say, Hugh Jackman looks kind of terrifying as Blackbeard. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie, but after having watched this trailer I'm expecting great things!

Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the action adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny—to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

Yeah, it's an origin story, but it's an origin story that looks damn good! The film also boasts an amazing cast that also includes Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Adeel Akhtar, Levi Miller, Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan, Lewis MacDougall, Leni Zieglmeier, Jack Charles, and Amanda Seyfried.

The movie comes out on July 17th, 2015 and I have also included some character posters below the trailer.

LOL: Violent Fake Trailer for BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday is an insane American event. For a lot of stores, that is when they finally turn a profit for the year. I get why it happens but in recent years things have escalated. Stores are now opening at midnight, people die due to trampling, and the insanely priced items are hidden in the store. The comedy team at Nacho Punch imagine this event escalating further into the absurd. This fake trailer for "Black Friday: The Movie" mixes elements of The Purge and zombie movies for a violent and hilarious outcome.

Next STAR WARS Animated Series Will be Set in Upcoming Movie Timeline

next-star-wars-animated-series-will-be-set-in-upcoming-movie-timeline

Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars Rebels animated series is going strong, and it was recently renewed for a second season. I've really been enjoying this latest adventure. According to a report over at /Film, the powers at be know how the series is going to end, and they also are prepping a new animated series that will take its place.

According to the report, the studios are planning to do three or four seasons of Star Wars Rebels before launching a whole new Star Wars animated series that will apparently feature all new characters.

As you know, Star Wars Rebels is set between Episodes III and IV. This next series they are planning will be set in the timeline of the upcoming movies such as Episodes VII, VII and IX. By the time the new series comes out, fans will be familiar with the new stories and characters that Lucasfilm will have introduced us to.

If this news is true, then I guess we can expect to see this new Star Wars series by 2017 or 2018, which means we’ll have at least one, maybe two, Star Wars films that we would have already enjoyed.

Like all of the Star Wars news that has leaked out, treat this as a rumor until there's some kind of official confirmation. It would be awesome if this is the plan though. I imagine this next new series won't be the last that we see either. I'm sure that animated series will eventually run its course and then be replaced with a new one. Or maybe Lucasfilm will be developing multiple series!

We are still in the early stages of Lucasfilm's Star Wars plans, and I'm excited to see how this all plays out.

Turkeys Battle HUNGER GAMES Style for Presidential Turkey Pardon

Last year, during the annual Presidential pardon of a single turkey, President Obama cracked a joke that, for turkeys competing to stay off the Thanksgiving table, "It was, quite literally, the Hunger Games." The folks at Nerdist took the remark a step further and created this parody short called “Gobble Games.” If you rolled your eyes at Obama’s lame dad joke (you’ll hear plenty more just like it during Thanksgiving), you’ll likely roll your eyes at yet another Hunger Games parody. But don’t worry, this also spoofs scenes from some classic war movies.

“Gobble Games” was directed by Clinton Jones and stars Shelby Fero, Matt McCarthy, John Milhiser, Jessica Chobot, Kyle Clark, John Ungaro, Kyle Hill, Malik Forte, Ben Mekler, Jason Nguyen, Dan Casey, and Charles Ingram

Matthew McConaughy Cast in Stephen King's THE STAND?

matthew-mcconaughy-cast-as-villain-in-stephen-kings-the-stand

A few months ago it was rumored that Matthew McConaughy (Interstellar) was wanted for the villainous role of Randall Flagg in the feature adaptation of Stephen King's The StandThe Guardian is now reporting that the actor is going to take the role, which is pretty awesome. I think He'll be great as the character.

The big screen adaptation is being directed by Josh Boone, who recently revealed that the studio plans on splitting it into four films. This is what he said about that:

"So I think we are going to do like four movies. I can’t tell you anything about how we’re going to do them, or what’s going to be in which movie. I’ll just say we are going to do four movies, and we’re going to do THE STAND at the highest level you can do it at, with a cast that’s going to blow people’s minds. We’ve already been talking to lots of people, and have people on board in certain roles that people don’t know about. We’re looking to go into production next year, maybe in the spring."

Flagg has been described by King as "an accomplished sorcerer and a devoted servant of the Outer Dark." He has supernatural abilities involving necromancy, prophecy, and influence over animal and human behavior. His goals basically involve bringing down civilizations through destruction and conflict. The character has appeared in several of King's stories. In The Stand, Flagg is a devilish figure who wreaks havoc after a plague kills most of the world's population.
