See a Very Christopher Walken-y Captain Hook in PETER PAN LIVE Trailers

Two new trailers have been released for NBC’s Peter Pan Live, and when Christopher Walken says, “Who’s the greatest villain of all time,” I just couldn’t help but bust up laughing! It’s almost like he’s doing a parody of himself for the role of Captain Hook. I love the dramatic, off-beat pauses. Since this is supposed to be a live event, the footage you’ll see in the trailer was taken from a dress rehearsal for the show. After watching this trailer, I have to see this thing.

Following in the footsteps of the phenomenally successful “The Sound of Music Live!” – which drew over 18 million viewers – comes this musical masterpiece that tells the beloved story of Peter Pan, the mischievous little boy who ran away to Neverland. Get ready for show-stopping stars, stunning costumes, extravagant sets and delightful music that will have everyone in your home singing along.

Peter Pan Live is set to air on December 4th.

FX Developing FROM HELL - Jack the Ripper TV Series

The FX network is developing a drama event series based on the Jack the Ripper inspired graphic novel From Hell. The project was adapted into a feature film back in 2001, and it starred Johnny Depp. That film was pretty disappointing.

The graphic novel comes from the minds of Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, and was released as a comic series from 1989 to 1996. It will be adapted by David Arato, who wrote Children of Men. Thankfully the Hughes Brothers aren’t involved this time around. They directed the first movie.

From Hell tells the story of Jack the Ripper with "the killer himself as the main character. Detailing the events leading up to the Whitechapel killings and the cover-up that followed, the 572-page graphic novel is a meditation on the mind of a madman whose savagery and violence gave birth to the 20th century.”

I don’t know if you’ve read the graphic novel or not, but it's awesome. I think it’s much better suited for a TV series than a movie. This way they will have the time to tell the full story properly, and actually do it justice, unlike the film.

Why John Candy Passed on GHOSTBUSTERS Role

There are a lot of “what if” moments in Hollywood in which certain characters could have been played by completely different actors. For example, Tom Selleck almost played Indiana Jones and Will Smith almost played Neo in The Matrix. In an interview with EW, Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman revealed that John Candy was up for the part of Louis Tully, who ended up being played by Rick Moranis. Candy didn't take the part because apparently he just didn’t get it.

“He didn't like the treatment that I had sent. He didn't get it. He said, ‘Well, maybe if I played him as a German guy who had a bunch of German shepherd dogs.’ I said, ‘Well, maybe you can do it with an accent, but I don't think all that's really necessary.’"

What in the hell was Candy thinking? That sounds like an absurd idea. After Candy passed on the role, Moranis jumped at the opportunity. According to the director, after Moranis read the treatment he immediately replied to Reitman and said, "Wow, please thank Candy for me. This is the greatest thing I ever read."

The rest is history and Moranis was perfect in the role! Candy instead went on to co-star in the 1984 Tom Hanks movie Splash, which he was hilarious in.

Director Guy Ritchie is deep in the casting process for his upcoming King Arthur movie, and he has cast Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) in the role of a character that is equivalent to the wizard Merlin. Idris Elba was looking to play this character at one point but he passed.

The reimagined story of King Arthur that Warner Bros and Ritchie want to tell will potentially span six films. The source material being used is based on Thomas Mallory’s “Le Morte d’Arthur,” which was published in 1485 as a compilation of French and English tales. Arthur was a 6th century King, who defended Britain against Saxon invaders.

Hunsou joins Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere and possibly Jude Law as the villain. The first of these films is scheduled to be released on July 22nd, 2016.

Trailer for AMERICAN HEIST with Adrien Brody and Hayden Christensen

"Banks are an essential threat to our democracy, so consider this justice."

I don’t know what happened with Adrien Brody, but after he won that Best Actor Oscar for The Pianist his career took a nose dive, and he started making bad movies. The most recent thing that I saw him in was History Channel’s Houdini, and I liked him in it. But other than that he hasn’t done anything decent in years. Now he’s got a new movie coming out called American Heist, which doesn’t look very promising.

The movie also stars Hayden Christensen, who is best known for his role of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels, and Jordana Brewster from the Fast and Furious franchise. So this movie is packed full of great talent! Here’s the synopsis:

Frankie (Christensen) and James (Brody) are two brothers with checkered pasts; one struggling on the road to normalcy, the other just released from prison. When one drags the other into an ill-fated bank robbery by a gang of dangerous criminals led by the nefarious Sugar (Akon), the loyalty of their sibling bond is tested and the brothers prove how far they will go for greed and family.

The movie was directed Sarik Andreasyan, and, as of right now, there’s no release date yet.

LET’S BE COPS Director to Take on '80s Style Sci-Fi Project SLINGSHOT

Let’s Be Cops director Luke Greenfield is set to direct an original sci-fi film project set up at Warner Bros. called Slingshot. He came up with the concept with his producing partner Trevor Sands, and the story is said to be in the same vein as the classic Steven Spielberg Amblin movies.

As of right now, details on the project are slim but it will be a tribute to the classic '80s films that inspired the director to want to make movies for a living. Some of the classic films that inspired him include E.T. and Back To The Future

Greenfield is the same guy who brought us the hilarious sex comedy The Girl Next Girl. It seems like he’s only worked in the comedy genre, so taking the leap into sci-fi will be a big jump for him, and it’s one I’d love to see pay off.

I know a lot of you are, like myself, big fans of the classic films from the '80s, so this is a project that is definitely worth following.

DreamWorks Animation Gives B.O.O.: BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDLY OPERATIONS a New Release Date

Dreamworks Animation is developing a new Ghostbusters-like movie called B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherwordly Operations. It really sounds like it could be a great movie. It was supposed to be released on June 5th, 2015, but the studio has has pulled it from that date, and a new one has yet to be given. Pixar’s Inside Out is scheduled for June 19th, 2015, and it seems like DreamWorks doesn’t want to compete with that.

The supernatural action comedy follows two bumbling apparitions who find themselves in an extraordinary after-life adventure when they join the Bureau of Otherworldly Operations (B.O.O.) – the ghost world’s elite counter-haunting unit – and ultimately must face off against the planet’s greatest haunter.

B.O.O. features the voices of Seth Rogen and Melissa McCarthy as the lead ghost agents. Rashida Jones, Matt Bomer, Jennifer Coolidge, and Octavia Spencer voice additional roles.

Tony Leondis (Igor) directed the film from an original story concept he came up with, and it was written by Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots).

DreamWorks Animation still has two other 2015 films planned. There’s Home, (with the voices of Jim Parson, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez), coming out on March 27th, and Kung Fu Panda 3, set for a Christmas 2015 release.

Bryce Dallas Howard in Talks for PETE’S DRAGON

Bryce Dallas Howard is in talks to take on the lead female role in Disney’s Pete’s Dragon reboot. If cast, she will join Oakes Fegley, who is playing the title character. There's also a chance that Robert Redford could star in the film, as he's currently in talks.

David Lowery (Ain't Them Bodies Saints) is set to direct from a script he wrote with Toby Halbrooks. The movie is based on the 1977 version that revolves around a boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who is a big green cartoon dragon. The original movie was a musical, but sources say this will be a straight narrative. It will be live-action with CGI used to bring the dragon to life, and it will be interesting to see what the design of the dragon will look like.

Here are some previously released story details:

"While the original was set in a fishing village at the turn of the 20th century, the new story is set against the backdrop of loggers cutting down a forest. Pete is a boy whose parents died in car crash, and has been subsequently raised by Elliot, the titular dragon in the threatened forest."

They movie also features characters such as a forest ranger who finds Pete, the young daughter of the mill owner (Oona Laurence), and the greedy brother of the mill owner. If Redford is cast in the movie, he will play "a local who tells tall-tales involving dragons that no one believes."

We have a new photo to share with you from Alan Taylor’s Terminator: Genisys. As you can see below, it features Arnold Schwarzenegger as a T-800 Terminator that has seen a little action. Apparently, the the photo of the image was taken by a German tour group visiting the Paramount Pictures studio lot.

The movie also stars Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung-hun Lee, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt, and Matt Smith.

Terminator: Genisys starts in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

This will be the first in a planed trilogy, and it will be released in theaters on July 1st, 2015.

Please click play on the YouTube embed above before you start reading this post. It’s so much better with the X-Files theme playing. Funko has released four characters from The X-Files for their vinyl Pop! toy line. The characters are Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, The Cigarette Smoking Man, and an Alien. These will be released in April, and they will probably be the first Pop! figures that I buy for myself… unless someone else wants to buy them for me.

I recently put together a list of the fifteen best comedic X-Files episodes. If you haven’t read through that yet, you should check it out. This is one of my favorite series of all time, and these figures are great.

Last week a rumor hit the internet that the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be attached to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Then this weekend a  report at /Film claimed that the trailer will actually be coming sooner that. How soon? you ask. How about this coming weekend!

The site said that they learned from “very good sources” that the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer will be shown in a limited number of theaters during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

“I know that there will be a limited amount of theaters participating in the 'preview.' I have not confirmed any more details other than that. Of course, LucasFilm and Disney will never address Star Wars rumors so there is no official confirmation from the studio, but my sources seemed very sure.”

They also point to a report on Reddit that claims that a 90-second teaser will debut next weekend in only 100 theaters nationwide and that it would be shown in front of every showing of every single film in those 100 theaters.

We've now officially learned that the trailer will debut this Friday at selected Regal Theaters across the US. I've included a list of theaters that the trailer will be showing in below. The trailer will be playing in front of every movie at these theaters. So if you find yourself at any of these theaters on November 28th, 29th, or 30th, you're in luck!

Insane Bike Parkour Stunts

I know this may not be really a geek thing, but I’m really into biking, and I love the indie rock band Band of Horses. This video combines those into an incredibly insane collection of parkour-style bike stunts featuring Danny MacAskill. This guy seriously pulls off some jaw-dropping moves. I can’t believe what this guy is capable of.

Filmed over the period of a few months in and around Edinburgh by Dave Sowerby, this video of Inspired Bicycles team rider Danny MacAskill features probably the best collection of street/street trials riding ever seen. There's some huge riding, but also some of the most technically difficult and imaginative lines you will ever see. Without a doubt, this video pushes the envelope of what is perceived as possible on a trials bike.

The video, which is a few years old, includes a song called “The Funeral” from Band of Horses, and I thought it fit really well with it. There's also a more recent video of MacAskill performing a loop stunt. I hope you enjoy this!

Columbia Pictures has released a set of character promo photos featuring the monsters that will be highlighted in the upcoming Goosebumps movie. These were released as part of a Create a Meme contest that they are holding. I enjoyed the book series and the 1990s TV series, so I'm really hoping that this turns out to be a fun movie.

The movie was directed by Rob Letterman, and it stars Jack Black, Amy Ryan, Ken Marino, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Jillian Bell, and Ryan Lee. Here’s the synopsis:

In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

The movie will hit theaters in April 2015.

attack-on-titan-season-2-coming-in-2016

Just last week we got our first look at the characters from the live-action Attack on Titan movie in a series of character posters that you can check out here. We’ve now learned that the second season of the Japanese anime will return in 2016. That’s a long ass time for fans to have to wait, but at least it’s coming.

The news comes from a press conference regarding the first Attack on Titan animated film, Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow and Arrow. It was also announced at the event that the second Attack on Titan animated film, Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom, will be released on June 27th, 2015.

I’ve gone through the first season of the animated series a couple times already, and it looks like I’ll have plenty of time to go through it again before the highly anticipated second season is released.

Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The series began in September 2009. The story of Attack on Titan takes place in a world where the remnants of humanity live inside a series of connected cities, isolated by enormous walls. These walls exists to keep the Titans out, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. These Titans have reduced the world's population to staggeringly low numbers. The 3 main protagonists of Isayama's manga are Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. Their lives are changed forever when a "Colossal Titan" breaches the wall protecting their town, leading to thee death of Eren's mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren, Mikasa and Armin join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the walls.

If you haven't jumped on board the Attack on Titan bandwagon yet, you might as well do it now because awesome things are coming.
