THE WALKING DEAD Season 5 Ep. 7 Sneak Peek and Promo

$

0

Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead put focus on Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and their search for Beth. It may not have been the most exciting episode, but along the way the two characters are getting reacquainted with each other and seeing how the other has changed since they last saw each other. It’s obviously a pertinent part of the story, and it looks like it’s going to lead into another intense episode. We’ve got a promo and sneak peek for the seventh episode of the fifth season, which is called “Crossed.” I’ve also included two behind the scenes videos for last night's episode, “Consumed.”

avengers-age-of-ultron-trailer-with-guardians-of-the-galaxy-ending

We have a fun fan-made trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it has a great little Guardians of the Galaxy twist at the end. It includes Rocket Raccoon letting fans know that there’s a better sequel than Avengers: Age of Ulton on the way. The video was created by Nick Bosworth for JoBlo.com, and it came along with the following caption.

To defeat the evil Ultron, the Avengers may not be the best ones to call if there's one particular group of intergalactic heroes around.

I’ll be honest. As excited as I am for Age of Ultron, I’m slightly more excited to see what James Gunn has in store of Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Great New Trailer for Benedict Cumberbatch's THE IMITATION GAME

Another trailer has been released for the amazing-looking World War II code breaking thriller, The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch stars in the film as the brilliant mathematician, logician, cryptologist, and computer scientist Alan Turing. The actor looks like he gives an amazing performance, but he's good in everything he does.

The film is based on the true story of Turing as he led "the charge to crack the German Enigma Code that helped the Allies win WWII. Turing went on to assist with the development of computers at the University of Manchester after the war, but was prosecuted by the UK government in 1952 for homosexual acts which the country deemed illegal."

The movie comes out on November 28th in the US and also stars Keira Knightley, Mark Strong, and Matthew Goode. To watch the two previous trailers, click here

Hulk and Wolverine Battle in Fan Art by Jason Kang

Artist Jason Kang created this cool illustration of Hulk and Wolverine in the heat of battle. This is a fun piece, and the Hulk has a very interesting face. It's unlike any other Hulk design I've seen before, and it's all in the nose. Hulk and Wolverine have one of the greatest rivalries in comic book history, and it's one I'm sure fans would love to see brought to life on the big screen. Unfortunately, that's something we'll probably never see happen. The Hulk Vs. animated movie has a pretty badass version worth checking out if you haven't already! You can watch it on Instant Netflix.

5 Comforting New Images from the Animated PEANUTS Film

5-new-images-from-the-animated-peanuts-film

20th Century Fox and Blue Sky have released five new images from The Peanuts Movie, which gives us a new animated adventure for Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the gang. As you'll see in the images, it looks like the story is set during Christmas.

This is the first time that Charles Schulz's Peanuts will be adapted for the big screen, and it's being developed as a CG 3D adventure. If you're worried about these character being modernized, don't. Director Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and the rest of his filmmaking team have focused on the "timeless quality of 50-plus years of beloved comic strips and TV specials." We don't have much information on the the story, but the report at USA Today says,

"The story follows the little round-headed boy with the indomitable optimism on a quest to get something he's sure he needs, even though he discovers he's pretty OK just as he is."

That's the basic premise of every Charlie Brown storyline. Which is great, because I wouldn't want to see anything less. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 6th, 2015. I grew up with Charlie Brown, and this film looks like it's shaping up to be a great tribute. These pictures give off a very comforting feel. You can watch a teaser trailer for the film here

It looks like that Attack on Titan and Avengers crossover comic got even more exciting with the addition of the Guardians of the Galaxy! One of our readers sent in a couple of photos from the comic that was released in Japan over the weekend. As you can see, all of Marvel's current popular movie characters are getting in on the Attack on Titan action and trying to save New York City from a gigantic female Titan who is attacking it. The comic appeared in the Japanese pop culture magazine Brutus, issue #790. If anyone has a copy of this, please let me know! I want to read it! The comic was written by Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama and illustrated by Marvel artist Gerardo Sandoval.

exciting-international-trailer-for-seventh-son-fantasy-action-film

Seventh Son is a movie that I've been extremely excited about seeing ever since it was first announced. This fantasy adventure film looks absolutely awesome! The movie stars Jeff Bridges as an aging knight who has to stop a powerful witch who escaped from a prison that he put her in. With the help of a new apprentice he will do whatever is takes to stop her wreaking havoc on this fantasy world. This is a fun trailer that offers up some great looking footage.

The movie also stars Julianne Moore as Mother Malkin, Kit Harington as Billy Bradley, Jason Scott Lee as Urag, Ben Barnes as Tom Ward, Djimon Hounsou as Radu, and Alicia Vikander as Alice. Here's a synopsis that has been released:

In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more. Master Gregory (Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Moore), centuries ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarceration, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory. In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. Now he has only until the next full moon to do what normally takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward ( Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.

This movie is set to be released on February 6th, 2015.

Check out this incredibly cool fan-made trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It takes all of the footage that has been released from the movie, so far, and cuts it together in chronological order. The video was edited by the Sammpo Alternative Channel, and here’s a note that came along with the video:

An unofficial, fan-made Speculation trailer using all clips from the main trailer, teaser and TV spots for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. This is my speculation on which order the scenes will be shown in the actual film. Hope you enjoy it with all the new quotes! (one is from Desolation of Smaug, the rest of them are new).

The end result of this project is awesome. I hope you enjoy it!

James Gunn Opens Up About Star-Lord's Dad in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2

james-gunn-opens-up-about-star-lords-dad-in-guardians-of-the-galaxy-2

There were only a couple bits of information regarding Star-Lord's father in Guardians of the Galaxy. One was the fact that he hired Yondu to take Peter Quill from earth and bring him to him. The other was that Peter Quill's mom described him as an angel composed of light. It was already revealed that Quill's dad would be a part of the sequel, and in a recent interview with IGN, director James Gunn discusses the capacity of the character's role in Guardians of The Galaxy 2 saying,

"It's funny, I don't want to black box it too much. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's like, we'll find out who his dad is, and it's going to serve the story. It's not going to be something like in The Crying Game, though, where the big thing was, 'He has a penis!' [or The Sixth Sense's big twist]. I don't want to do that. It's not about the revelation of who it is; it's about what his relationship is to that character."

It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. Gunn already said that Quill's father is not going to be the same character we know from the comic book, who is J’Son, King of Spartax. There have been some rumors though that suggest his dad could be Adam Warlock. The character was teased in the Collector's showroom. When it was brought up in the interview, Gunn said,

"Well...there's a cocoon that's exactly like Adam Warlock's cocoon. I wasn't thinking that much when I put that in there. And it was my idea to put that in there! I went through the Marvel handbook and picked things that looked neat. And now everyone thinks he's coming out of there...I don't know, there's a lot of stuff in there. There's also a lot of stuff that people think they see that's not there. Unless the visual effects team was messing with me, which maybe they were!"

Whoever the father character ends up being, it will be interesting to see the dynamic between him and Peter. The movie will come out on May 5th, 2017

Remarkable 16th Century Style Superhero and Star Wars Cosplay

SuperHerosFlamands_Batman_Robin_026-copy.jpg

You've got to check out this incredible series of cosplay photos that feature several superheroes and Star Wars characters in 16th century during the Renaissance. The photos were taken by photographer Sacha Goldberger, who recently held an exhibition of his work at the School Gallery Paris.

This is a stunning collection, with immaculate, awe-inspiring details. The design work of the costumes used is absolutely incredible. This is seriously one of the coolest cosplay photo projects that I've ever seen. Even some the models used were made to look almost exactly like the characters they represent. For example, the make-up work that transformed his models into Princess Leia, Heath Ledger's The Joker, and  Christopher Reeve's Superman is incredible. These are actual people. Princess Leia was modeled by Sabine Graissaguel and Superman was modeled by Jonathan Tuil. Their faces were transformed by the use of make-up and lighting.

You're all seriously going to love these! To see even more of his work, click here.

Universal Monster Cineverse Will Be Less Horror, More Action

During a round table interview with THRDonna Langleychairman of Universal Pictures, gave a big clue to how the Universal Monster Cineverse is going to work. I listened to the panel last week and completely missed this, thankfully Perri Nemiroff of Collider caught this quote.

Langley on the Universal Monster Cineverse:

“We don’t have any capes [in our film library]. But what we do have is an incredible legacy and history with the monster characters. We’ve tried over the years to make monster movies — unsuccessfully, actually. So, we took a good, hard look at it, and we settled upon an idea, which is to take it out of the horror genre, put it more in the action-adventure genre and make it present day, bringing these incredibly rich and complex characters into present day and reimagine them and reintroduce them to a contemporary audience.”

A few other sites have interpreted this to mean that the movies will be more like superhero films or purely action, I think the truth lies somewhere in between. The Mummy series of movies with Brendan Fraser leaned pretty heavy on the action over the horror roots of the title character. Dracula Untold, the first part of the studio's Monster Cineverse, seems use that same balance. So the horror elements won't be completely excised but greatly overpowered by action.

To help in the continuity for all the Monster Cineverse films, Universal is using a team of writers in the same way sitcoms are written today.

Craig Michael Ranapia on this team based writing style (via io9):

"Actually, it isn't novel in Hollywood at all. Studios (including Universal) used to have stables of writers — and other creatives — under contract working on assigned projects and doing re-writes rather than having them farmed out for draft after draft and a parade of big-ticket script doctors."

If this becomes a winning formula for better scripts, I'm all for it. If successful, I could see a lot of other studios following suit.

Video of He-Man's Greatest One-Liners From MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

Last week, we posted an amazingly funny video of Skeletor spitting out his best insults from the 1980s animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Today we have the greatest one-liners from He-Man himself, and it shows us just how much of an ass this hero actually was. This must have been a really fun series to write for!

The guy even insults his friends like Battlecat for not running fast enough! He also shows that his incredibly sarcastic nature shines during the least appropriate moments. If you enjoyed Skeletor's supercut, then you're going to love this one for sure. Thanks to DreamWorks TV for sending this in to us!

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Description

Word on the street is that we'll get to see the first teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens before the year is out. When or where that will happen remains a mystery.

According to Badass Digest, who have dropped a lot of scoops about Star Wars: The Force Awakens over the past few months, the trailer is only four or five weeks away from being unleashed on the world. There's been claims of it being attached to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, or Into the Woods.

The site then offered up a brief description of the trailer from one of their sources:

"[It'll] be short. And when I say short, I mean one minute long. It's going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There's no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. And then the music swells up into a full orchestral piece - perhaps what John Williams recorded this weekend? - and we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley's, saying 'Wake up.' And then the title card appears - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - and we see the Millennium Falcon, firing blasters, coming right at the camera."

That would definitely be enough to get Star Wars fans pumped up and excited! This is just a rumor for now, but it seems like something we could expect to see from Lucasfilm. We won't have to wait much longer, though, and I'm very excited to see what's in store! I'm getting the chills just thinking about it.

7 Batman Villains That Would Make the Worst Roommates - Comic

This comic collection by College Humor takes the most griped about roommate qualities and matches them with Batman villains. I've actually been pretty luck when it came to having roommates so I haven't had any I would call a supervillain. I have actually dated girls that align with these villain personalities, though (I hope none of them are reading this post).

UK Trailer for INHERENT VICE Cut by Director Paul Thomas Anderson

"It's not groovy to be insane."

A fantastic new international UK trailer has been released for Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming film Inherent Vice. The movie has a great cast of actors that includes Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, and Benicio Del ToroIt looks absolutely wacko, so I'll probably really enjoy it. I enjoy Anderson's style of humor, and this trailer was cut by Anderson himself.

When private eye Doc Sportello’s ex-old lady suddenly out of nowhere shows up with a story about her current billionaire land developer boyfriend whom she just happens to be in love with, and a plot by his wife and her boyfriend to kidnap that billionaire and throw him in a loony bin…well, easy for her to say.

It’s the tail end of the psychedelic `60s and paranoia is running the day and Doc knows that “love” is another of those words going around at the moment, like “trip” or “groovy,” that’s being way too overused—except this one usually leads to trouble.

With a cast of characters that includes surfers, hustlers, dopers and rockers, a murderous loan shark, LAPD Detectives, a tenor sax player working undercover, and a mysterious entity known as the Golden Fang, which may only be a tax dodge set up by some dentists... Part surf noir, part psychedelic romp—all Thomas Pynchon.

For those of you who actually reside in the UK, you're in luck, as the trailer also promotes surprise screenings of the film. Inherent Vice will be shown at the Prince Charles Cinema in London this Wednesday at 7 PM and 10:15 PM. The screenings benefit The Film Foundation, and tickets are on sale now via the link above. The movie will get a wide release on Christmas Day.

Alternative Cybermen Concept Art for DOCTOR WHO

alternative-cybermen-concept-art-for-doctor-who

I've always liked the basic Cybermen design for Doctor Who, and over the years we've seen different variations of that design. I really like the current look of the villains, but they could have been very different. The one above has a very unsettling feel to it. It reminds me of some kind of weird looking insect. The one directly below seems to be more influenced by the 1960s version, especially in the face design.

The first few art pieces come from a new show reel from FX Millennium that focuses on the Cybermen. You can watch that video below. I also included a couple other pieces of crazy looking concept art for these character that was created by Peter McKinstry. You will find those below the video.

Gigantic Toy Millennium Falcon

I never knew the joy of owning a Star Wars Millennium Falcon as a child, but that's something I can fix with my own kid. Over the summer, Hasbro announced that they were producing a two and half foot long Millennium Falcon that would be released in November, just in time for Christmas. It has cannons that turn, lift, and lower. From what I've heard, the ship is pretty light and could be easily hung from the ceiling. I wish it opened up and had a detailed interior, or, at the very least, had a cockpit that opened. It's priced at $60 and is a Walmart exclusive.

Possible Detailed Plot Summary for THE FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

$

0

Fans have not been happy with the bits of information that have found their way online regarding Josh Trank's reboot of The Fantastic Four. I'm not sure if this possible leaked plot summary is going to help. It's already been made very clear that this movie is going to be very different from the source material, and that is exactly what we get in this plot summary. It offers up character details and some major story plot points.

Now this could very well be a piece of fan fiction, but if it's not, then there's a lot of SPOILERS here. I don't think this is one of those projects a lot of people would mind having spoiled for them. Just in case, I'm throwing out the warning, so proceed at your own risk.

Even if this is not real, it's still an interesting read. There's been a few things that have leaked out from this movie so far, so it is possible that this could be legit. After you read it, you can decide for yourself.

Reed is a genius convenience store clerk with Ben. Reed's parents don't care about him, and Ben's dad is abusive. They're good friends and have each other's backs. Reed writes a paper for community college on teleportation that attracts the attention of Dr. Franklin Storm, CEO of the Baxter Building research center.

Storm has a son, Johnny, and an adoptive daughter, Sue, whose father, Storm's old partner, died in an experiment gone wrong. Johnny and Sue are party kids, and Sue is particularly disdainful of science. Reed and Sue don't get along at first.

Victor Doomashev is a anti-social Eastern European computer programmer and hacktivist who calls himself "Doom". He hates the 1%, particularly Storm, whom he claims corrupts science for profit.

Storm uses Reed's paper to complete some equations on a machine to access another dimension, the N-Zone. Reed invites Ben to watch the machine being turned on. Sue and Johnny are also there. Doom manages to hack into the Baxter Building's servers and use a computer virus to damage the machine, which explodes. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben are exposed to otherwordly energy and become mutants with powers that they can't control.

Storm takes them to the Baxter Building and creates containment suits for their powers. They begin to train. Reed and Storm also begin developing a way to revert the accident. Sue blames Reed for everything, but they eventually become friends and then a couple. Ben can switch off his powers when he's not in danger. Johnny changes colors based on heat intensity, and Sue has some borderline telekinetic thing. Reed is pretty much Reed.

Doom finds out that the four have acquired powers and becomes angry it's not him, so he comes up with a plan to break into the Baxter Building to access the N-Zone through the rebuild machine. As a distraction, he reprograms a bunch of stolen military drones, the "Doombots", to attack the building. The four come together as a team for the first time and save people.

Doom activates the machine and gets technopathy powers or something, basically energy blasts and making machines obey to him, and a fight ensues. The machine goes critical, and, in order to prevent it from exploding and destroying the city, the four push into it and Storm shuts it off.

There's a countdown before it reaches critical mass. Inside the N-Zone, the four battle Doom again, and manage to leave him trapped there after he disfigures himself soaking up too much power. The Four manage to escape, but Ben gets the blunt of it to protect Reed and can't switch back.

The machine is destroyed, Doom is gone, the four have learned to work as a team, and Reed vows to find a cure for Ben. And it ends there.

I hope this isn't real, but it might just be. After all, this movie is being made by FOX. It hits theater on August 7th, 2015.

Animated BREAKING BAD and FROZEN Parody - “Do You Want to Build a Meth Lab?”

$

I’d advise someone not to put out another Frozen parody just about as strongly as I’d advise them not to smoke or cook meth. After a solid year of the reign of Frozen, capped off by a Halloween with literally millions of Americans dressing up as characters from the movie, I didn’t know if I could actually enjoy another send up of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Especially one that also parodied Breaking Bad, which has seen its fair share of spoofs in the year since the series wrapped. Even though Animeme seems a year late to both of these pop culture punches (and we’re late to posting it, as it already garnered over 1.5 million views over the weekend), they were able to deliver on the goods — there will be no drug dealer getting shot in the face today. Video mashups don't always live up to their potential, but the beautiful animation and perfectly picked and recreated moments from Breaking Bad make this a video worth falling off the wagon and letting that melody get stuck in your head, once again.
