STAR WARS LEGO Circus Organ

0
0

This is one of those crazy things that I never thought I'd ever see. LEGO builders Rene Hoffmeister and Lorenz Lnggrtnr have built a detailed Star Wars circus organ that plays the Star Wars theme from the film. This was made as a promotion for the Germany re-release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace's 3D.

We took the four most famous Star Wars worlds — Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and the Death Star — and built them on to the barrel, accordingly to the musical composition. When the organ is turned, the bricks touch little mechanical sensors — which strike the keys of a keyboard and play the Star Wars main theme.

As you can see this thing is incredibly detailed. It's currently touring several LEGO events and will be permanently installed in LEGOLAND Germany later in 2012.

Steve Carell and Jake Johnson Set For Max Winkler Mob Comedy

0

Would you see a mob comedy starring Steve Carell and Jake Johnson (New Girl) attached to star? Warner Bros. is hoping you will. Deadline reports that the studio has picked up an untitled comedy pitch that will be penned by Rodney RothmanMax Winkler (Ceremony) is directing the concept based on an idea from him and Johnson. Carell is producing along with Rothman, Johnson and Winkler.

Rothman has recently sold another comedy pitch to Paramount with Seth Rogen and Kevin Hart. He also teamed with Judd Apatow to produce The Five Year Engagement for Universal. Rothman also has the comedy/horror film, The Something, also with Rogen at Universal.

I am looking forward to Carell's next live-action film, Seeking A Friend At The End Of The World. He also will be seen in  Hope Springs and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone for New Line. Johnson is hilarious on New Girl, which was just renewed for season two. He will next be seen opposite Mark Duplass and Aubrey Plaza in Safety Not Guaranteed

With Carell and Johnson together this could be a hilarious movie. What is your favorite Carell role to date?

Mighty Marvel Updates! THE AVENGERS, IRON MAN 3, THOR 2 and CAPTAIN AMERICA 2

0
0

In 2002, right before the release of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, Stan Lee was quoted in the documentary Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters and Marvels as saying, "There hasn't been a better time to be a Marvel fan." Ten years later, not much has changed. Here in 2012, we are mere weeks away from the biggest Marvel movie of all time; a movie that 4 years ago was said to be impossible - The Avengers. It's the first film in movie history to feature six different superheroes all in the same film together. It's gotten to the point where director Joss Whedon is giving advice to Warner Bros. on how to approach a "Justice League" movie when they can't even get Green Lantern to work! The Avengers had its world premiere on Wednesday at Disney's El Capitan Theatre. However, the film shown there may not be the film we get in theaters; and this is a good thing.

At an Avengers press junket, the day following the premiere, star Robert Downey Jr. ended the day by saying they would filming another scene that very night. Downey had effectly stunned the crowd as his character had at the end of Iron Man. Director Whedon and producer Kevin Feige were quick to vehemently deny any such event occuring; however, fellow actors Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth said that Downey's statements were completely true. Is it possible to add a scene to a film after its premiere? In this day and age of digital prints, absolutely (though it would have be done very quickly). Now, there are supposedly two different endings to the film, one mid-way through the credits and the one that was shot this week as the post-credits scene. Who knows if potential Ant-Man director Edgar Wright was involved? He was at the premiere and said recently that he had just got back behind the camera for the first time since Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Could we see Ant-Man for the first time on screen? Whatever we'll see, I'm very excited to know what will come next from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It just goes to show that Marvel always has a trick up the sleeve to give fans the best possible experience. Remember how you felt when Nick Fury appeared at the end of Iron Man or when Tony Stark talked to General Ross in The Incredible Hulk? Very rarely do franchises have an interactivity among its casts and its storylines and it's extremely exciting to see it happening with the Marvel superheroes.

While Kevin Feige wasn't pleased with Robert Downey Jr., he was more than happy to talk about Tony Stark's next adventure in Shane Black's Iron Man 3 coming next summer. Feige said:

Iron Man 3 is a full-on Tony Stark-centric movie.... [It's] very much inspired by the first half of Iron Man 1.  Metaphorically, we’re not going back to the cave there’s nothing like that, but we’ve always said let’s get Tony back to the cave, which is he’s stripped of everything, he’s backed up against a wall, and he’s gotta use his intelligence to get out of it.  He can’t call Thor, he can’t call Cap, he can’t call Nick Fury, and he can’t look for the Helicarrier in the sky.

Iron Man 3 has Downey reprising his role as the title character, with Gwenyth Paltrow, Don CheadleScarlett Johansson and the recently-announced Ben Kingsley. The film starts production this summer in North Carolina and will be released on May 3, 2013.

The next Marvel film after IM3 is Thor 2, directed by Game of Thrones and Mad Men's Alan Taylor with Chris Hemsworth reprising his title role. Feige says that the film will examine "what's been going on in the nine realms without the Asgardians being able to use the Bifrost". I find it kind of hard to believe that by Thor 2, the Asgardians haven't been able to rebuild the Bifrost Bridge. Maybe what Feige means is that Thor and the Warriors Three are finally able to go and visit the other realms when the Bridge is rebuilt. Certainly the realms will be in chaos without the center of Asgard to bring the peace.

"Well [Thor's maturity] is sort of the crux of the whole sequel and it’s what Hemsworth is most excited about diving into, and it’s what is the heart of story; it’s Thor and Jane, to continue that dynamic. Really they were only together for three days, and do they love each other? Do they like each other? Do they know each other? We’re acknowledging that that love story in the first movie was sort of a quick crush, essentially, over the course of three quick days in the middle of the desert. And [the heart of the movie is also] the relationship between Thor and Odin, which does change drastically as it did over the course of the first movie, and picks up and continues from there."

Thor 2 is set to star Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony HopkinsNatalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard and (possibly) Kat Dennings (if she gets a hiatus from 2 Broke Girls).

Marvel Studios announced last week their newest project, Captain America 2 to be their first film of 2014, with an untitled film yet to be announced officially. Chris Evans will return as the First Avenger, though no other cast members have been announced yet. Joss Whedon had written a scene in The Avengers where Evans returned to his '40s love, Peggy Carter (as played by Haley Atwill) in the present. Whedon didn't reveal how this scene would have been done; with Atwill in makeup/digitally aged or hired another actress entirely. Unlike earlier reports, the film is said to be set entirely in the present day. In talking about the film, Feige said that Cap would get a sidekick (because Bucky was "lost" in Captain America: The First Avenger). Could this be Rick Jones, the Incredible Hulk's comic book-based sidekick? In the very first Avengers comic book, it's actually Rick Jones who summons the Avengers together; Jones meant to call the Fantastic Four, but Loki scrambled his signal to go to Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Cap initially mistakes Jones for Bucky, and his presence reminds Cap of his loss; despite Jones wanting to be Cap's sidekick. Jones has not yet been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but his name is shown in the opening credits montage of The Incredible Hulk (he is, however, a part of the film's video game). Feige continues:

"The primary storyline takes place post-Avengers, Steve figuring out his place in the world. Tony goes back to Malibu, Thor goes back to Asgard, but there are a number of people who stay in S.H.I.E.L.D. Steve, for the time being, is going to be one of them."

There is no other cast members announced, though Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury is expected. Captain America 2 will be released April 4th, 2014. Jim Hill, a Disney insider, has written that the clause that Paramount has over Disney by having their name over Disney's should end with Captain America 2. From then on, any Marvel character that hasn't had a film adaptation will have their own Walt Disney Pictures film (which makes their $115 million finally pay off). He hints that, by then, the West Coast Disney theme parks could have walk-around Marvel characters. The East Coast parks have a lot more problems to deal with; but deals are secretly being made...

Nobody makes movies like Marvel. Like it or not, they are an unbelievable filmmaking force in Hollywood. They cast competant actors, hire talented directors and make exceptional films. It only seems to get better and better. What more can I say but, "MAKE MINE MARVEL!"

G.I. JOE RETALIATION - New Still Shows Storm Shadow

0
0

We have a new still from G.I. Joe Retaliation thanks to StarkIndustires.Ru (via CBM). The new still is rather boring, but we do get to see Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow.

Here is the synopsis:
A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

The sequel stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson. G.I. Joe Retaliation is set for release on June 29, 2012. I think the film looks decent from the trailer. My only question is whether Tatum is actually in the full film? Many of you would rather he not be, but from the trailer it is hard to tell.
Do you think that this movie would be better off without Channing Tatum in it?

Geek Art: Fantastic Mr. Freeze Character Design

0

This awesome Mr. Freeze character design was created by Deviant Art user BrentMcKee. I really love the details and the costume he's wearing is very cool. This is one of my favorite Batman characters, and I think one of the most misunderstood. I don't see Freeze as a villain, if you look at his life through his eyes, he's almost a hero like Batman. He is fighting against those people that wronged him and the wife he loved. He's seeking justice just like Batman is. I say let him have it.

My favorite portrayal of this character was in the 1990's series Batman: The Animated Series. What are you thoughts on Freeze as a villain?

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS Review - What Did You Think!?

0
0

Why did we have to wait so long to see such an incredible horror film!? Most movies get shelved for years because they suck, but that obviously wasn’t the case for Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods. This film takes the horror film genre to a whole new level, turning it on it’s head, giving the genre an awesomely original twist that any horror movie fan will love!

The best thing about the film is the trailer really gives nothing away, and you have no idea what’s going to happen. The surprises just just keep coming and they escalate in to one of the greatest endings to a horror film ever. One other aspect about the movie that I loved was the humor, the movie was incredibly funny, and parodied everything cliche about horror movies without being a parody.

Joss Whedon signature stamp is all over this movie, so if you enjoy his work then you’re going to love this movie. The writing style, humor, dialogue, setting, characters and even the casting of those characters are all reminiscent of things Whedon as made in the past. I know Goddard was also a writer on the film, as well as its director, but you can tell Whedon heavily influenced it.

I don’t want to get into any crazy details about the movie with you, because if I say anything it would be considered a spoiler. All you need to know about this film before you see it is what’s in the trailer. Just know that this is a epic horror film that’s going to put a big smile on your face. The film direction was solid, the acting was fantastic, and it was bloody as hell!

I heard a lot of positive buzz about this film before I saw it, and all I can say is believe the hype. I think it just shot up to the top of my list of favorite movies of 2012, and will most likely stay there.... until I see The Avengers. It’s definitely one of my favorite horror films of all time. I freakin‘ loved this movie, and I highly recommend that you go out and see it, I know you wont be disappointed.

If you’ve already seen the movie and want to talk about with us, spoilers and all, please invade the comment section below and let it fly!

I will warn any readers that haven’t seen the movie yet to steer clear of the comment section if you don’t want to know all the awesome details.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN - Japanese Trailer with New Footage

0
0

Check out this great new international Japanese trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man! The Japanese seem to be getting the best trailer these days. This new one is packed full of some cool new footage that's sure to raise your excitement level a little bit.

The movie's got a fantastic director that knows how to tell a good story, and he's got a great cast of actors that includes Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field.

I actually like the fact that Webb has changed the origin story of Spider-Man a little bit, its going to give us fans a fresh new take on the character. What I like about it's a version of the character we've never seen before, and we really have no idea what's in store for us,

Heres' the Synopsis:

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The superhero film hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012. Watch the trailer, and let us know if you liked it!

Every one of the movies listed here are movies that I'm very excited to see this summer. They all just look incredibly entertaining. I'd have to say out of all of these I'm looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man the most. What movie on this list are you looking forward to seeing more?

Disney Developing Hawaiian Action Adventure Film

0
0

Disney is developing a new action adventure film that's set in the great state of Hawaii. The studio has hired screenwriter Joe Gazzam to take a crack at the script. The movie is described as being in the same vein of Indiana Jones, and the story is said to include, "some supernatural elements and revolves around a gauntlet sent down from gods taken from Polynesian mythology."

This could be a very cool movie. There's a ton of great Hawaiian mythology to play around with, and it will be interesting to see how this movie turns out. To give you an idea of what we might expect, Gazzam has also written 21 Jump Street, Barbarella and Step Up Revolution. He's also set to write a big screen adaptation of a TV series called It Takes a Thief for Universal pictures, and Will Smith is apparently interested in starring in it.

What do you think about this new Hawaiian adventure film that Disney is making. Where would you like to see the story go?

Watch Tupac Hologram Perform Hail Mary At Coachella

Coachella blew more than a few minds over the weekend when it unveiled a hologram image of the late rapper Tupac Shakur on stage. The hologram Tupac performed "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Watching the video shows not only how far holograms have come, but how psyched people can get about seeing a dead rapper perform live. Watch the video and ask yourself, would you have paid to see this? What other dead musicians would you like to see perform live in concert?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN - 2 more Dark Posters

0

A very dark looking new IMAX poster for The Amazing Spider-Man has surfaced online. The poster offers up a great new look at Spider-Man with some gnarly looking slashes across his chest. This is the kind of poster that makes me wonder if the studio is trying to market this film as being The Dark Knight of Spider-Man. The film looks like it will be much darker than the previous Spider-Man films directed by Sam Raimi, which is kind of strange as Raimi is known for his dark side. Do you think the director of this new film, Marc Webb, will succeed in what he's trying to accomplish with this character?

Here's the Synopsis:

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The film swings into theaters on July 3rd, 2012! What do you think of the new poster design? Do you have any ideas for a better one?

Disney's Tron: Uprising is the fun looking animated series that's going to keep us busy while they work on developing the big screen sequel to Tron: Legacy.
