American Horror Story: Freak Show is about to get even better with the addition of Neil Patrick Harris. I've been enjoying this fourth season of the horror anthology series, and so far it's my favorite season. His husband David Burka will also have a guest starring role. 

According to Variety, Harris will play a salesman in the final two episodes of the season, and that Burtka's role will be connected with the storyline of Jessica Lange’s character, Elsa Mars. Harris admitted earlier in the year that he wanted to join the series, and he even reached out to creator Ryan Murphy. Harris told EW Radio:

“I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it. To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can’t wait!”

This wouldn't be the first time that Harris and Murphy worked together, they collaborated on a season one episode of Glee, which earned Harris an Emmy nomination for guest actor in a comedy series.

It was also recently announced that Harris would be also hosting the Oscars next year, which should be fun.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is definitely one of the best Spider-Man movie that has been made. I rewatched it a few months ago, and was once again enthralled by its greatness. Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus played a huge part in why that movie was so good. If you haven't seen this movie in awhile, I suggest you watch it to remind yourself how good it actually was. When you don't see a great movie in awhile sometimes a person can forget just how good it was. Some concept art has surfaced of Doc Ock that was created by Tim Flattery. This is some really great stuff that gives us a glimpse at what the character could have looked like in the film.

I just watched this trailer for the upcoming movie Comet and was kind of blown away by how great it looks.  This may be a romance film, but the trailer struck a cord in me and I was compelled to share it with the rest of you movie geeks. The film stars Justin Long and Emma Rossum and tells a surreal love story that looks charming and appealing. Here's the synopsis:

Hurtling back and forth in time over six years of a passionate, complicated relationship, this high-style love story crackles with brilliant repartee and simmers with true feeling. Emmy Rossum is the bright, skeptical Kimberly, and Justin Long is the tightly wound Dell. They first meet at a random encounter at Hollywood Forever, where they've come to watch a meteor shower. It's the start of a romantic roller coaster ride that leaps from a Paris tryst to a squabble in New York to the Hollywood Hills, taking risky and unexpected emotional turns with daredevil aplomb. 

The movie will get a limited released on December 5th. There are very few romance films that have been made that grab my attention and that I actually like. This one seems like it could end up on my list of romantic movies that I genuinely enjoy. I hope it lives up to those expectations that this trailer set for me.

Sneaky Zebra has unleashed the fury of their latest incredible cosplay music video. The one was shot at MCM London Comic Con 2014, and the cosplayers were out in full force strutting around and showing off their radical outfits. The Sneaky Zebra guys did some really cool stuff with their group shots in this one, so enjoy!

Yesterday we got a little bit more information  on the upcoming Supergirl TV series being developed by Greg Berlanti (Arrow and The Flash) and Ali Adler (Chuck and No Ordinary Family). We learned that Kara Zor-El a.k.a. Kara Danvers a.k.a. Supergirl would have a foster sister named Alexandra “Alex” Danvers. You can read more details about those characters here. Thanks to TVLine we have some information on four new characters which consists of Cat Grant, James Olsen, Winslow 'Wynn' Schott, and Hank Henshaw. It also offers up a few new plot points. The following comes from some casting details that were released:

CAT GRANT | The project is eyeing females in their 40s, open ethnicity, to play the founder of CatCo, a media conglomerate that Cat built from the ground up. Kara (Supergirl's mild-mannered alter ego) will work as a personal assistant to Cat, who is described as "J.Lo by way of Anna Wintour."

JAMES OLSEN | In his late 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity, James is a smart, worldly and (duh) attractive photographer for CatCo. Though an alpha male, his salt-of-the-earth nature elicits a huge ol' crush from Kara.

WINSLOW 'WYNN' SCHOTT | This twentysomething tech whiz/Comic-Con stalwart toils for CatCo as a programmer, unaware of his own (toying?) potential. Unware of her secret, he carries a torch for Kara, whom he lives next door to.

HANK HENSHAW | As an upstart CIA agent, Hank grew obsessed with intergalactic intel. Now in his 40s and lording over the DEO (Department of Extra-Normal Operations), he is on high alert when Supergirl reveals herself, worried that her otherworldly abilities pose a threat to humankind.

They are filling up the series with some interesting articles, and I think it's cool that Jimmy Olsen is going to be a part of it. I've always liked Jimmy.

Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for Furious 7, and I think fans are going to be very pleased with what they see. This is the seventh film in the Fast and Furious franchise, and it looks freakin' awesomely insane! Just wait until you see how this trailer plays out, it features one of the craziest car stunt sequences that we've seen in the franchise so far, and I imagine that this is just the tip of the iceberg. I had a huge smile on my face whole time as I watched this trailer play out. I think director James Wan and the rest of the crew are really going to deliver something special with this installment of the franchise. 

Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell. 

The movie drops in theaters on April 3rd, 2015!

If you haven't seen John Wick yet, you need to! That's a completely badass movie, and Keanu Reeves is awesome in it. The action film had a solid box office opening, and now the actor has a new project set up to star in called Replicas. 

The sci-fi thriller follows Reeves, who will be playing "a neuroscientist whose family is killed in a traffic accident and will stop at nothing to bring them back." To do this, he will go up against a "government-controlled laboratory, a police task force and the physical laws of science." 

That sounds intriguing. It's also a great project for Reeves to jump on board. The movie is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, The Matrix), directed by Tanya Wexler (Hysteria), with a screenplay written by Chad St. John. Di Bonaventura had this to say in a statement: 

“From my experience working with Keanu on ‘The Matrix’ franchise through our collaboration on ‘Constantine,’ I have always been impressed by Keanu’s ability to bring a genuine level of humanity to the sci-fi genre through his performance.  I am looking forward to collaborating with Keanu once again on this unique take on what lengths a person will go to alter the past, and the implications of those actions.”

As a fan of Reeves, I'm happy to see the acting work continue to role in for him. Hopefully the success for John Wick will open up even more doors for the actor to star in bigger and better films. I really hope that the movie reinvigorated excitement for the actor.

The Signal director Will Eubank is set to direct a film called World Breaker that he co-wrote with Phil Gawthorne for Warner Bros. Eubank proved that he has got some crazy good directing skills with his sci-fi film The Signal. I don't know if you've seen it yet or not, but it was awesome, and you should check it out when you get a chance. 

The story for his latest project sounds freakin' awesome, and THR describes it as "a two-hander with tones of 300 and Braveheart as it tells of a mythical Scottish warlord and his sons withstanding a massive castle siege launched by the ruthless commander of an invading army."

Just on that brief narrative alone I'm completely sold. I loved 300, and Braveheart is one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm also enjoy Scottish history and folklore, so this film project is hitting all the right spots for me. I'm excited to see what becomes of World Breaker. I think that Eubank is an up-and-coming director to keep your eye. I could easily see him directing a big Marvel movie one day.

IPO Man sounds like it has a story that will make for a very entertaining movie. Jason Batman is set to star in and direct the film, which is based on a Wired magazine article titled, "Meet The Man Who Sold His Fate To Investors At $1 A Share." This is a true story, and Bateman will play a man who put himself up for public offering. This little experiment that he did created some interesting problems for the guy, Mike Merrill. Especially when "shareholders demanded control over life decisions like whether to have a vasectomy or even whether he should move in with his longtime girlfriend (and minority shareholder)." That doesn't sounds like the best way to live your life, but to each their own!

Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction, and this story is sure to make for a fantastically fascinating film. The script is being written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster, who are also working on on Amazon’s new show Transparent, and they are developing a Mister Rogers movie for Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris to direct. Here's a little more information on what Merrill put himself through with the stunt:

"Merrill got into an IPO niche that usually allows investors to pony up money for a cut of someone’s future earnings, for instance. Merrill put himself on the block at $1 per share for 100,000 shares, and sold 928 of them. He started as a curiosity, with friends, family members and his girlfriend buying in. He made it interesting in that even though he still owned the majority of himself, he made that non-voting stock, meaning his investors could decide how he would conduct himself professionally, like when he got a thumbs up on his decision to invest $79.63 in a Rwandan chicken farmer. The controls veered into  his personal life and he lost his girlfriend, who  felt like the loser in a takeover battle. Same majority shareholders then exerted input in his future attempts at a romantic merger (he was even set up with a guy at one point). He was still allowing his investors to call the [shots] when the article ended."

Bateman is the perfect talent to take on a project like this. I really liked his film Bad Words, which he also starred in and directed. This next project of his should turn out great.

Sometimes Mother Nature can be quite the magical sorcerer! As you can clearly see, the base of this tree that resides in Rabat, Morocco looks like a dragon's head! This is some kind of incredible wizardry at work here. When I was a kid and I would go hiking I would see shapes in the trees and rocks, and my imagination would take over and create a visual of something that was familiar to me, which was mostly monsters or strange creatures. But this thing doesn't leave anything to the imagination, it's just right there. Amazing.

Netflix has picked up 21 episodes of a live-action Richie Rich series remake from DreamWorks Animation's AwesomenessTV. The series is obviously going to be geared toward kids, and it's based on the the classic comic strip and the 1980s animated series. The half-hour comedy stars Jake Brennan (Dark Skies) in thelead role, as well as Joshua Carlon, Jenna Ortega, Lauren Taylor, Kiff VandenHeuvel and Brooke Wexler.

Richie Rich features an updated take on the one percenter spoiled brat character. According to THR, it will follow the characters adventures as he is making a movie, and will travel the world including Antarctica, while meeting celebrities along the way. It seems like the majority of kids shows that my kids watch on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon these days revolves around wealthy rich and famous kids. 

Macaulay Culkin starred in a live action film adaptation in 1994, and it was as awful as a movie could possibly get. Hopefully this series turns out better for the sake of the kids who will be watching it. The series will be available to watch in early 2015.

NBC has released a short preview of their upcoming Peter Pan Live TV event that stars Allison Williams as Peter and Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. Since the show won't be pre-recorded and will be broadcast live, the trailer consists of the stars behind the scenes while doing a promotional photo shoot. I've got to say, Walken looks creepy as hell as Hook.

Other cast members include Christian Borle as Mr. Darling and Smee, Kelli O’Hara as Mrs. Darling, Taylor Louderman as Wendy, with Alanna Saunders appearing as Tiger Lily, Jake Lucas as John Darling, John Allyn as Michael Darling, and Caitlin Houlahan as Jane.

The live broadcast airs on NBC from 8-10 p.m. on December 4th. My kids seems to be excited about it, and it looks like it could be a fun event so I'll probably tune in to check it out.

Artist Sam Carter created this astounding series of art that pays tribute to the movies and characters that Tim Burton has brought to life in his career. Each of the portraits feature a silhouette of the head of the main character from the movie represented, along with an iconic element from the story inside. The series is part Popzilla's Tim Burton art show that is currently taking place at the Rothick Art Haus. All of the artwork will available to purchase online here.

FXX has released a hilarious trailer for the tenth season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The trailer is called "Blaze of Glory," and it features the gang all decked out in retro looking space suits and helmets as they walk towards and enter, what looks to be, a giant rocket. The promo parodies the awe-inspiring greatness of space exploration, but as you'd expect from these amusingly dumb-ass characters, they don't think things through, and the outcome of their adventure doesn't turn out very well for them.  The full ninth season of the hilarious comedy series was also recently added to Instant Netflix, so now you can watch it whenever you want! 

"All systems are go this January, bitches!"

It looks like everyone's favorite villain, Loki, is going to be back in a big way in the third phase of Marvel's cinematic universe. According to Digital Spy, Marvel President Kevin Feige says that Loki will be "heavily" featured in both Thor: Ragnarok and the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. 

It's no surprise that Tom Hiddleston would be back to reprise his role as Loki in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok movie. I think we all expected that. After all, the last time we saw him in Thor: The Dark World he had taken the form of Odin and persuaded Thor to return to Earth and be with Jane Foster. The storyline for Ragnarok is sure to play a decent sized role in leading us into the two part movie Avengers: Infinity War. Especially since Loki's scepter has one of the Infinity Stones that Thanos needs for his Infinity Gauntlet to wreck havoc on the future Avengers team.

Loki lost his scepter after he failed to take over Earth, and it's now in the possession of HYDRA's Baron von Strucker. The Other, who was killed by Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy, warned Loki that there would be consequences if he failed Thanos, and as you saw in The Avengers, Thanos ended up losing a lot of his army, one of the Infinity Stones, and the Tesseract. It will be interesting to see how Loki fits into the story, but he could either be trying to win back Thanos' loyalty, or he will help fight against him. What side do you think he'll land on?

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on July 28th, 2017, while Avengers: Infinity Part 1 will come out the following year on May 4th, 2018, before Part 2 follows on May 3rd, 2019.

During Marilyn Manson's Halloween show at the Roxy in Los Angeles last Friday, audience members were treated to Johnny Depp jumping up on stage to play guitar for Manson's hit song, "The Beautiful People." Die Antwoord's Ninja also joined the party up on stage to rock out.

This wouldn't be the first time that Depp and Manson played together. Back in 2012 they performed a cover of The Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" at the 4th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards. The two also collaborated a cover of Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” which is a bonus song on Manson’s 2012 album “Born Villain.” I didn't realize how much Depp has been getting around as a guitarist. Apparently this year he has also played with guitar with Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Butch Walker, and more. You can tell in this video that the actor is having a blast doing it. I guess we should keep an eye out for more Depp guitar cameos. 

There's no denying that Robert Downey Jr. played a huge role in Marvel's success these last few years. His portrayal of Iron Man got fans excited for the future of superhero and comic book movies, and since the very first Iron Man film, the studio has pumped out one awesome movie after another. That streak is going to continue with their recently announced epic phase 3 line-up. Two of the most surprising announcements included Marvel's first female-led superhero film with Captain Marvel, and Black Panther, who will make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War. In a recent interview with the actor, CBR asked asked him what it is like to be a part of the growing cinematic universe, and he said,

"It's great, and I love it. But being able to have Chadwick Boseman be announced for playing Black Panther, and that Marvel is going to have a female superhero – it's those things that it would have started creating an imbalance, I think, in just what's appropriate and right and feels like what the people deserve. And so I just think that Marvel has turned into this very kind of civilized, forward-thinking company, and it's just joyful to be a part of that." 

I'm sure the amount of money that he's making from it doesn't hurt either! It going to be really cool to see how all of these new upcoming films and characters tie together. In a separate interview with EW, the actor was asked how many more Marvel movies he is expected to do before he stops. He replied,

"You know, it may verge on double digits. But it will probably wind up being a little shy."

If you count Downey Jr.'s involvement with The Incredible Hulk and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, he will have played Tony Stark/Iron Man seven times. If the actor appears in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, that will bring the total Marvel films he is in to nine, which is just a little shy of double digits. Maybe his time in the Marvel cinematic universe will end after that. 

Boseman's Black Panther is scheduled for release on November 3rd, 2017 and Captain Marvel, which will feature Carol Danvers, is scheduled for release on July 6th, 2018. We'll get our first look at Boseman as Black Panther, though, in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

A series of promo videos have been released for Disney's upcoming animated superhero film, Big Hero 6. The videos include members of the cast and crew talking about the story, as well as showing off lots of never-before-scene footage from the film that is sure to get you even more excited for the movie.

I had the opportunity to watch the movie this weekend, and I absolutely loved it! This was a great film that Disney and superhero hero fans are going to love. My kids and I had an amazing time watching the movie, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Anyone that has been looking forward to watching this movie is going to love it.

The movie opens on November 7th, an it's worth checking out. 

We've learned some new information about Tim Burton's cancelled Superman Lives film project that many of you might find interesting. I know I did! According to screenwriter Dan Gilroy, one of the main aspects he brought to the story was Clark Kent, aka Superman, being in therapy. In his version of the story, Jor-El never tells his son Kal-El where he came from. So basically there's just this guy on earth with superpowers, and he has no idea how he got them. That drives him to therapy. Gilroy offered some more details about this in an interview with IndieWire.

"His biggest fear is that he's an alien. Our Superman was in therapy at the beginning of the film. He's in a relationship with Lois Lane and he can't commit. Or he was maybe in couple's therapy. But he can't commit because he doesn't know who he is or what is going on with him. He's hoping that he has some physiological condition that gives him these powers but that he's still human. It becomes very apparent, though, early in the script, when Lex Luthor uncovers the remnants of the spacecraft, he suddenly realizes – ‘Oh my god, I'm an alien.’ It was all about the psychological trauma of it."

This is a very strange and different concept, and I've gotta say, it's one of my least favorite things that I've heard about the movie. Gilroy also reveals that Jimmy Olsen would have played a part in the story, and that the part would have been played by Chris Rock! That's just crazy to think about. Nicholas Cage as Superman in therapy, and Chris Rock as Jimmy Olsen… sounds like something that was shaping up to be a comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live.

Director Erick Lehmann created a great short thriller called Strangers. The story follows a man who mysteriously awakes to find himself barricaded in his apartment after humiliating a girl he was on a date with the night before. The guy has no chance of escaping, and he is not alone. There is a group of masked men that push him to his limits. This is a fantastically made short film that I think many of you will enjoy.

Lehmann is a freelance filmmaker and 3D artist who has worked on the visual effects for films such as Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man 3, and Cloud Atlas. He is now producing his own independent short films, and Strangers is his second project. I do like that even though he is a visual effects artist, he's made a film that doesn't rely heavily on special effects to tell his story.
