Sideshow Reveals New Premium Format Boba Fett

$

Sideshow Collectibles has a new Boba Fett Premium Format™ Figure available for pre-order, and it looks pretty cool, which is all Boba Fett really does anyway. According to Sideshow, he is “[scouting] his mark.” It's a little hard to tell because his cool helmet covers his entire face, but we'll go with it. He is wearing custom fit Mandalorian armor and jetpack, which, it would have to be custom fit, right? It’s not like there is a ton of mass-produced quarter-scale Mandalorian armor out there. His cape, helmet, and rangefinder are posable, and the figure also comes with an EE-3 Blaster Rifle Mark II. The base is modeled after a high rise platform in Cloud City. And of course, the figure is up to Sideshow’s regular, incredibly high standards. I’m sure this thing is impeccable.

The Limited Edition figure is expected to ship in October 2015, and it’s going to retail for $439.99. I’ve included a couple more pictures below. Click here if you’re ready to splash out for one.

How THE MAZE RUNNER Should Have Ended

I thought The Maze Runner was a incredibly entertaining and well-made film. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you take the time to check it out. The creative team over at How It Should Have Ended put together another animated episode showing us an alternate ending to The Maze Runner, and you know what? In this version, Thomas dives a little deeper in questions with Newt about the efforts they've made to escape the maze. As much as I enjoyed the movie, their vision of how it should have ended makes a hell of a lot of sense. Except for the awkward scene the end of the credits that features a Griever singing "I'm Just a Lonely Griever."

THE FLASH — Art, Photos from Episode 3, and Casting News

The Flash is a hit and has an exciting season ahead. The CW has released banner art that shows The Flash (Grant Gustin) speeding away from an explosion. They have also released photos for the third episode ahead of the airing of the second. I'm guessing they really don't want ratings to drop on the second one.

Official synopsis for episode threem titled "Things You Can't Outrun," airing October 21st — via Coming Soon:

THE FLASH BATTLES THE MIST, CAITLIN TELLS BARRY ABOUT RONNIE -- As Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work to capture Kyle Nimbus (guest star Anthony Carrigan), a.k.a. The Mist, a dangerous new meta-human with toxic gas powers, they revisit the painful night the particle accelerator exploded and killed Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) fiancé, Ronnie (guest star Robbie Amell). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse Martin) decides to finally visit Henry (John Wesley Shipp) in jail after all these years, but things take a dangerous turn when Kyle shows up looking to punish Joe for arresting him years ago. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) and Eddie (Rick Cosnett) continue to hide their relationship from Joe. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Alison Schapker & Grainne Godfree (#103).

The Hollywood Reporter says that Victor Garber, best know for being on Alias, has been cast as reoccurring character Dr. Martin Stein. Stein is an arrogant nuclear physicists who, through transmutation with Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), becomes Firestorm.

More casting news from TVLine reports that Andy Mientus has been cast as Hartley Rathaway. Rathaway was born deaf and becomes obsessed with sound. He then discovers how to hypnotize people using sound. He later gives up the life of crime and in 1991 became DC comics' first openly gay character.

Just in time for Halloween! A costumed hoodie of Michael Keaton's classic bio-exorcist character from Tim Burton's Beetlejuice, a.k.a. the ghost with the most! It's perfect for any of you who are too lazy to come up with a more elaborate costume for yourselves, which is a category that I'm going to fall under this year. The Beetlejuice Adult Costume Hoodie is available for the reasonable price of $42.99 at Amazon. The only thing that I wish it had was the character's nasty, frizzy hair on the hood.

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Will Smith's upcoming con-man romance movie, Focus. The film also stars Margot Robbie and Rodrigo Santoro. The story centers on a veteran scammer who takes a young, attractive woman under his wing to learn the art of being a criminal. Things become very complicated when they become romantically involved.

Focus was written and directed by the Crazy Stupid Love team of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Smith has always been entertaining to watch, and this one looks like it plays to his strengths as an actor. Focus seems like it was a great project for him to take on, and it has the makings of a solid movie that is worth checking out. If Smith doesn't sell you on it, it also has Robbie, who is not only beautiful, but a very talented actress, as she proved in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

The movie hits theaters February 27, 2015,

Another cool piece of Akira fan art has been created by artist Ömer Tunç. This features an iconic shot from the film. Akira introduced me to a wold of animation that wasn't just for kids. It was the first animated movies I saw where people were violently killed and bloodily beat up. I still remember the first time I saw this movie, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I absolutely loved it, and over they years it has been great coming across fan art reminding me and other fans how incredible this movie really is.

Jennifer Jason Leigh to Play Female Lead in Tarantino's HATEFUL EIGHT

Jennifer Jason Leigh is in talks to take on the lead female role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western The Hateful Eight. She will join Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen, who have also been confirmed to star in the movie. The last we heardViggo Mortensen was also rumored to be in talks to join the film as a "ruthless gang leader." The movie is scheduled to start shooting in January 2015, and this is what it's about:

The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

Leigh is a very talented actress who has done of ton of film and TV work over the years, such as Revenge, Weeds, The Machinist, Road to Perdition, and most recently, The Spectacular Now. She definitely has the look of a woman living in the old west. She'll fit right in with a Tarantino movie. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early 2015.

Urklemania is Unstoppable in Funny KEY & PEELE Sketch - "Reginald VelJohnson"

“This was supposed to be a blue collar Cosby Show. Now you turn it into goddamn Quantum Leap? Who writes this shit?”

An extremely funny sketch from Key & Peele has been released called "Reginald VelJohnson." This comedy duo is awesome at taking topical, historical, and pop-culture oriented subjects and turning them in short film sketches. This latest one takes us back to the time of the popular family TV series Family Matters, and the when the character Steve Urkel became a pop culture icon.

The sketch features actor Reginald VelJohnson (Jordan Peele) storming into the office of a Family Matters studio executive (Keegan-Michael Key) to complain about how Urkel is taking over the hit series, which was originally supposed to be a family-based sitcom centered on the Winslows. The sketch then turns into a take on Urkel’s ridiculous inventions, which later tormented the character Carl Winslow both onscreen and, apparently, off.

Family Matters was one of those shows I watched all the time when I was younger, and I thought this sketch was freakin' hilarious. Enjoy the show!

(Warning: The sketch contains a lot of foul language and is probably NSFW, at least without headphones on.)

The Jim Henson Company Is Developing a LABYRINTH Sequel

Buried in a recent report at Variety about Billy Crystal joining the Jim Henson Company's production of a movie called Which Witch? is an even more awesomely interesting piece of news.

At the end of the article they list several movies they are currently working on, and those include Fraggle Rock; a sequel to 1982’s The Dark Crystal; a movie based on the Emmet Otter character, and a sequel to 1986’s Labyrinth. This is the first time I've heard about a Labyrinth sequel. There were no other details revealed, but it's exciting to know that it's in the works.

As for the project that Crystal will be working on, it's based on a 1979 book by Eva Ibbotson, the story of which follows a wizard who holds a contest among the seven witches to determine which witch one he will marry. The actor said,

"When Brian Henson called me about it, I didn’t know the book. But it’s a fantastic story, and I brought in a wonderful writer, Michael Feldman, and we’ve written a terrific and inventive script. I’ll play a character as well, which will be great fun because he actually has two eyes."

It's great to see that the gears are turning over at the Jim Henson Company and that we'll start seeing more movies from them. Their most recent film is the live-action family comedy, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which comes out this weekend. That movie was actually surprisingly really enjoyable.

Artist Daniel Norris is the mastermind behind this magnificent set of poster art that was obviously inspired by George Lucas' Star Wars trilogy. One of the things that I like most about these is the gritty, hardened feel. There are also some cool details that have been worked into the art. If you look closely, you might notice a couple of faces that in the posters for Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This artist has such a cool, unique style, and The Empire Strikes Back piece is my favorite. I love coming across amazing Star Wars fan art like this.

Every X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Deleted Scene

Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past was unbelievably awesome. It's easily the best X-Men movie to date, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Singer and his creative team come up with for X-Men: Apocalypse. While we wait wait for more information on that movie, we have every deleted and alternate scene from X-Men: Days of Future Past for you to watch. One of the of the scenes is an alternate version of William Stryker recovering Wolverine's body from the river. I love watching these scenes because it gives me and the audience a little more insight into the story the filmmakers were looking to tell. Sometimes it adds a little something interesting, sometimes you can see why the scene was cut. There's a little bit of both in this set. Some of the special effects weren't completed for these, so you will see some green screen and stuff.

Bizarre and Badass Short Film - !!RENEGADE!!

"I'm not dead. I just need to get up."

You are about to watch one hell of an entertaining short film. It's called "!!RENEGADE!!," and it was directed by Michael Cavanaugh. The story follows a character named Renegade as he battles the evil Dr. Monocle to save his love, Gwenyvier. The short grabbed me from the very beginning, and then shook me around wildlyas I continued to watch. It is an extremely fun ride packed full of action, adventure, romance, comedy, and some great one-liners. It's the best three minutes you will spend today. Here's the synopsis:

Renegade is an homage to the 1940's American pulp magazines, like Thrilling Wonder Stories, Terror Tales and Thrilling Mysterys. These magazines featured cover art by artist like Rudolph Belarski, Tom Blame and Earle Bergey who often drew thinly clothed heroes and heroines fighting off mad scientist, druids, henchmen and goblins. Renegade is Pulp comic fun, with classic arch characters, romance and adventure.

I promise that you're going to enjoy the ridiculous greatness that it is. If this character had his own feature film, I'd watch it!

The trailer for Brad Bird's film Tomorrowland hit our site yesterday (watch it now). In the rush to get it out, I didn't have time to really analyze the trailer's details. I was able to get ahold of an ultra high quality version of the trailer and was able to pull some really sharp stills. After close inspection, there are a few new things I've learned.

Britt Robertson as Casey Newton post incarceration.

Riots on the east of America, presumably.

Casey Newton is a Florida resident. Red NASA hat. Beemans chewing gum.

Garry Chalk as Sheriff/Sergeant "G. Miller."

Brevard County is in Florida, east of Orlando.

From Wikipedia:

Influenced by the presence of the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Brevard County is also known as the Space Coast. As such, it was designated with the telephone area code 321, as in 3-2-1 liftoff.

John Lennon.

George Clooney as Frank Walker. He's observing our world. I'm assuming he's not in the city Tomorrowland yet.

Cowabunga Pizza Party by 100% Soft

Last week the "Turtles in Time" show opened at the Bottleneck Gallery in New York, and we featured some of the artwork. But I skipped one piece that I really liked because, frankly, I had trouble downloading the image. But I’ve figured it out, so now, without further ado, I present the Cowabunga Pizza Party by 100% Soft, aka Truck Torrence. It’s one of my favorites, and not just because it’s one of the few pieces to feature Krang. Krang is the best. (Although, can Krang even eat pizza?) I also like that Shredder and Splinter are eating next to each other but not at the same table. I imagine there was something like the crazy negotiations over podium height and room temperature that go on before Presidential debates. Shredder agreed to pose near him, but wanted his own pizza and table to show his virility, and Splinter insisted that his pizza tray be empty to show that he is a ninja of great speed.

Unfortunately for you, prints of the piece are already sold out, but you can peruse the still available art from the show here.

WWE 2K15 Season Pass Announced with Paige Exclusive

$

Season Passes are standard fare at this point, and since 2K and WWE don't ever want to feel left out, a Season Pass was just announced for 2K15 as well. These things tend to be hit and miss, but in this case it is already purchased. Why you ask? Well, last time we talked about WWE 2K15 I lamented over the fact that it was Paige-less. Someone heard my plea for justice and included the Anti Diva as an exclusive to the season pass, so ha ha! Have at thee, injustice!

Of course, it also could have been pre-planned and in the works for months, but my story is better.

Regardless of how she got there, I'm just happy she's included. The season pass itself will add more rivalries to the announced 2K Showcase mode, which already contains Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H and John Cena vs. CM Punk. Since there are no specifics yet on which rivalries will be included, allow me to start the idea wheel rolling.

My nominations include Stone Cold vs The Rock, Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels, Sting vs. basically all of the NWO, Macho Man vs. Jake the Snake, and the greatest of them all, La Parka vs. Poncherello. I don't mean Erik Estrada either, I mean straight up Poncherello. Also, give yourself a nice pat on the back if you get that reference. It will make me feel not quite so old.

WWE 2K15 releases on October 28th for PS3 and XBox 360, and on November 18th for Xbox One and PS4.

Check out these sensational photos of Virginia-based artist and cosplayer DeAnna Davis a.k.a. It's Raining Neon, who is dressed up in a Green Arrow costume that she made. The outfit is based on the Injustice: Gods Among Us skin. The costume is quite impressive — the one thing that she's missing is the full badass beard. But that probably wouldn't look very good on a woman, no offense to all you bearded ladies out there! Here's a note that came along with the photos:

I will be wearing this at the Project TriForce booth at New York comic con Thursday -Friday then borderlands Athena Saturday and Sunday !! COME SAY HI!!! On a personal note this is one of the few comic book hero's I admire and share a skill with in IRL. I am actually a pretty good archer/ marksmen myself .
