3-new-spots-for-american-horror-story-freak-show

FX has released four new twisted TV spots for American Horror Story: Freak Show, and the first two are creepy as hell. This is why I don't like clowns! I also feel really bad, as my six year old little girl walked into the room as I was watching the second trailer. Now, like her dad, she'll be afraid of clowns for the rest of her life.

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

The spots are called "Twisted Smile," "Open Wide," "Sword Swallower," and "Spotlight." The horror series is set to premiere on October 8th.

The latest photo from AMC's The Walking Dead features Daryl (Norman Reedus) on the prowl and hunting to kill either walkers or those damn cannibalistic Terminus bastards. The guy definitely looks like he's ready to attack and take a shot at something with that crossbow of his.

The photo was released on EW, and the show's star Andrew Lincoln had this to say about the upcoming season in a previous interview:

"We’re really earning our rating this season. There are families that watch it together, but just so it’s on the record, guys—it’s a grown-up show this season."

I sure do like that sound of that! The fifth season premieres on October 12th, and I'm ready for a zombie blood bath.

Four new funny variant comic cover illustrations have been released for Marvel's 75th anniversary. They are classic covers that have been awesomely photobombed by Deadpool.

The new art features the jerk with a mouth interrupting the famous moments of covers like "Captain America" #1, "Amazing Spider-Man" #33, "Not Brand Echh" #5 (posing as Forbush Man) and "Secret Wars" #4. The new images can be found in October on variants for "Captain America" #25 by John Tyler Christopher, "Amazing Spider-Man" #7 by Michael Golden, "Winter Soldier" #1 by Dan Panosian and "Ms. Marvel" #9 by Paul Renaud, respectively.

Deadpool is one of Marvel's most fun characters, and this whole photobomb thing was a great idea to celebrate 75 years of Marvel entertainment. After each Deadpool cover, I included the original that it's based on.

Disney 2D Animation Veterans Team up for Steampunk Project HULLABALOO

disney-2d-animation-veterans-team-up-for-steampunk-project-hullabaloo

Traditional 2D animation is virtually dead for film. The only place we see it now is on TV and in online web series. It's kind of sad because traditional animation is such a great and beautiful art form. I studied traditional animation in college, and watching its demise has been heartbreaking.

There's a team of Disney veteran animators though who have joined forces to try and breathe new life into the dying art form. They are looking to create an animated steampunk adventure called Hullabaloo. It will be a hand drawn animated short that they hope will turn into a web or TV series or a feature length animated movie, which would be amazing!

The story revolves around two incredibly smart female inventorsFrom what they show in the campaign video it looks like it has a lot of potential. Here's the synopsis:

Hullabaloo is the story of Veronica Daring, a brilliant young scientist who returns home from an elite finishing school to find her father–the eccentric inventor Jonathan Daring–missing without a trace! The only clue left behind points Veronica toward Daring Adventures, an abandoned amusement park used by her father to test his fantastical steam-powered inventions. There she discovers a strange girl named Jules, a fellow inventor who agrees to help Veronica in locating her missing father and discovering the secrets of his work.

James Lopez (The Lion King, Pocahontas, Paperman) and Rick Farmiloe (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) are part of the team of animators who are bringing this project to life. As of right now, the project has raised $108,000 dollars which is above their initial goal of $80,000 on Indiegogo, so we will get to see this short brought to life. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Thanks to Firstshowing for the tip on this!

Hey Marvel! Al Pacino Would Like to Be in One of Your Movies

hey-marvel-al-pacino-would-be-in-one-of-your-movies

Marvel Studios has gotten some pretty awesome legendary talent to appear in their awesome superhero movie. There was Jeff Bridges in Iron Man, Anthony Hopkins in Thor, Robert Redford in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ben Kingsley in Iron Man 3, Glenn Close in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Michael Douglas in Ant-Man. They don't seem to have any issues getting talent like this to be in their films, but in case they want to throw Al Pacino into the mix, he recently revealed in an interview with Deadline that he'd be open to doing it! I have no idea who he would play, but if they ever have a role that would fit Pacino they should definitely attempt to get him on board.

The conversation about Marvel started when he admitted to loving James Gunn's Guardains of the Galaxy, saying,

"I recognized the ingenious stuff they were doing; the invention, the attractiveness of the way they were performing it. It had Shakespearian feeling to it at times. I was caught up in the big screen, the great sound…"

That led to the actor being asked if he would ever get involved with a Marvel project if they approached him, and this was his reply:

"I would do anything that I could understand in terms of how I fit in it. And you know, of course if I could fit in it. Anything’s possible. You know, I did Dick Tracy and I got an Oscar nomination, so come on. I mean, what can I say?"

I love Pacino's attitude! I think it would be so cool to see Pacino in a superhero film, and I hope that one day a part comes along that would require the talent of this legendary actor. Getting involved with a Marvel movie wouldn't hurt his career, that's for sure.

So Marvel, if you're reading this, and you have a role that Pacino would fit into, now might be a good time to start talking to him about it.

100-most-iconic-movie-shots-of-all-time

The gang over at CineFix has edited together a fantastic video for all of you film buffs out there. It highlights what they believe are the 100 most iconic shots of all time, and I think they played it safe by picking some of the most well-regarded films of history, which makes sense. The video starts off with some of the earliest movies that were made and works its way up to the modern films. This isn't a definitive list. It's just the opinion of CineFix, and it leaves things open for discussion. There's a good chance that your idea of iconic movie shots is different from theirs, and that's ok. Watch the video for yourself and let us know what you do and don't agree with. Are their any shots you would have included?

The producers of the Academy Award-winning documentary Searching for Sugarman have made a new film about legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. This isn't the first documentary to be made about the boxer, and it certainly won't be the last. The film is called I Am Ali, and it will give audiences "an intimate and heart-warming look at the man behind the legend - as we've never seen Ali before." Here's a short synopsis:

I AM ALI is told through exclusive, unprecedented access to Ali's personal archive of 'audio journals' combined with touching interviews and testimonials from his inner circle of family and friends, including his daughters, sons, ex-wife and brother, plus legends of the boxing community including Mike Tyson, George Foreman and Gene Kilroy.

Focus World will release the documentary on VOD and in limited theaters on October 10th.

Intense Clip from Kevin Smith's TUSK - "I Don't Want to Die in Canada"

intense-clip-from-kevin-smiths-tusk-i-dont-want-to-die-in-canada

The first clip for Kevin Smith's horror film Tusk has been released, and it features an extremely terrified Justin Long. He has been kidnapped by Michael Parks, who wants to turn Long into a bloody walrus. It looks and sounds like this guy is in for the most insane nightmare ever. This is sure to be a very disturbing movie, and I'm always up for watching a disturbing movie.

Wallace (Justin Long) co-hosts a popular podcast with his pal Teddy (Haley Joel Osment), focusing on cruel, mocking cringe humour as part of their mission to keep it “real and raunchy.” After his trip to Winnipeg to interview the “Kill Bill Kid” — a teen whose unfortunate samurai-sword video has gone viral — comes up empty, Wallace decides to make the trip worth his while and find a good story north of the forty-ninth parallel. A handwritten flyer he finds in a bar bathroom leads him to a grizzled old swab (Michael Parks) full of tall tales to share from his life of adventure at sea — and this is where Wallace’s voyage to the Great White North descends into straight-up madness.

Be warned: even as it deftly delivers on its outlandish and outrageous concept, the film is also aboot how Americans view Canada — so check your patriotic fervour at the door and prepare for a barrage of Canuck jokes and a steaming-hot double-double of strange.

Enjoy the clip!

Why the PG-13 Rating Is Ruining Movies

Ever wonder WTF Happened to PG-13 movies? GoodBadFlicks released a very interesting video essay that takes us through the history of PG-13 and why that rating is ruining movies. You may or may not agree with the conclusion of this video, but they do make some good points in the process and reveal some interesting facts, like how Stephen Spielberg spawned the PG-13 rating with a phone call he made after the backlash over Gremlins’ PG rating. It's definitely worth watching for anyone who isn't a big fan of how the movie rating system works these days.

Jesse Eisenberg and Shia LaBeouf Wanted for ARMS AND THE DUDES

Shia LaBeouf and Jesse Eisenberg might be taking on the roles of stoners-turned-arms-dealers in a drama called Arms and the Dudes. The movie is being developed by The Hangover director/producer Todd Phillips, and he's the one who wants to cast the two actors in the lead roles.

According to THR the actors are in very early talks and there is still a long way to go before anything happens with the production. Phillips is co-writing the script with Jason Smilovic, and the story is based on Guy Lawson's Rolling Stone article, which follows two stoners from Miami Beach who became arms dealers for the U.S. government.

This could be a good project for the actors to take on. They'd make an interesting on screen team. LaBeouf will next be seen in David Ayers' WWII tank drama Fury. Eisnenberg, on the other hand, is currently shooting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The world has been begging for a Kentucky Fried Chicken keyboard and mouse, and I'm proud to announce that it's finally here! The keyboard and mouse were created by KFC in Japan for some kind of social media promotion, so they aren't available for purchase. That thing looks like it would be ridiculously hard to use! I love that K, F, and C are the only actual letters on the keyboard, and it's so awesome that Japan comes up with crazy stuff like this! There's even a fried chicken leg USB stick. Release Dates for TERMINATOR Sequels Announced

Terminator: Genisys wrapped production a month ago, and since then director Alan Taylor and his team have been deep in the post-production process for the highly anticipated film.

Paramount Pictures is now ready to move forward on the next two installments of the franchise. They've announced the rebooted Terminator 2 for May 19th, 2017 and Terminator 3 for June 29th, 2018. The plan is to shoot the next two films back-to-back. Of course, this all depends on how well Terminator: Genisys does at the box office.

There's no information on whether Taylor will return to the director's chair, but Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, and Jai Courtney are expected to reprise their roles.

I love this franchise, and it would be great if this new story turns out to be awesome. I really like the rumored plot details, so I hope they are true.

They created a hilarious Guardians of the Galaxy comedy sketch that pokes fun at Star-Lord's mix tape, which played such a huge role in making the film as amazing as it was. Robert Downey Jr. Says There Are No Plans for IRON MAN 4

robert-downey-jr-says-there-are-no-plans-for-iron-man-4

Even though Marvel has announced movie release dates through 2019, it doesn't sound like a fourth Iron Man film is on that slate. In a recent interview with Variety, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that the studio doesn't have plans for one.

"There isn’t one in the pipe. No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man."

Downy Jr. signed on to be in both Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3, so if an Iron Man 4 movie does happen, it doesn't sounds like it will happen until after the third Avengers film, which will be released in 2018.

When the actor was asked if he would “let" another actor play Tony Stark, Downey laughed off the idea,

“I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I’m casting director for Marvel."

If an Iron Man 4 movie does happen, Marvel and Disney will have to re-negotiate a contract with Downey Jr., and if they can't work something out, they already discussed the idea of replacing the actor, which would be weird, but if the studio wants to continue Stark's story it would be necessary.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron recently wrapped production in the U.K. with director Joss Whedon, and it's set to be released on May 1st, 2015.
