STAR WARS: EPISODE VII - Photos of New Stormtroopers

Possible SPOILERS Below...

It looks like the stormtroopers got a new look in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. These images were posted by Indie Revolver, who says that these are new designs for the stormtrooper and snowtrooper.

If you can't tell from the designs, it looks like they were inspired by the original concept art by Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston. The connected black visor piece of the helmet is one of the most prominent design changes in these that seems to have come from McQuarrie's designs.

I love that the production designers were inspired by McQuarrie's work. The first time we saw it was with the reveal of the new X-Wing. Even though there is no official confirmation that these photos are legit, I'd like to think that they are because they are pretty damn cool.

Thanks to 501st Legion for the photos!

Quentin Tarantino hasn't even started shooting The Hateful Eight movie yet, but there is already a poster promoting it, and the first trailer is going to be attached to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. He must've shot something! This trailer will not be released online. The only place you'll be able to find it is in movie theaters, so if you want to see what Tarantino has prepared for us this time, then you'll have to take a trip to the theater and spend a little cash.

The information comes from the Alberta Film Ratings board, which posts information about trailers that have been classified for distribution in Canada. As you will see in the image below, the trailer for the film will run 1 minute and 47 seconds.

Here's a short synopsis that was previously released:

"The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere."

I'm happy that Tarantino decided to make this western. I can't wait to see it!

Robin Williams Will Be an NPC in WORLD OF WARCRAFT

One thing that you might not know about Robin Williams is that he enjoyed playing World of Warcraft. As a way to memorialize the actor, Blizzard has decided to make him a non-playable character in an upcoming release of the game. This was all happened quickly after a petition was organized at Change.org.

According to the petition page, Williams used to play on the Mannoroth server, and 'was something of a troll in trade on good days or when anonymity [was] allowed.'

'Mr. Williams said in interviews that he took his World of Warcraft characters very [seriously],' the petition description reads. 'In fact, he was well known for being an extreme PC builder who preferred to build his own overclocked and super-cooled systems. He often joked about his WoW addiction but also about the reactions he'd get from other gamers when he admits he plays the game.'

Technical Game Designer Chadd Nervigg announced on Twitter that Blizzard was working on it. If the studio follows through with the petition's wishes word-for-word, then the Williams' character will deliver jokes in the World's End Tavern. Organizer Jacob Holgate wrote the following after it was confirmed:

"It is with a growing sense of pride for the world of warcraft community that I declare victory for this petition. In less than twenty four hours we've earned eleven thousand signatures, a huge amount of traction on many gaming and new outlets, as well as assurance from Blizzard employees that our desire for a Robin Williams tribute and or NPC will be handled with great care."

Robin Williams passed away in his home on August 11th. He was a passionate fan of video games and even named his daughter Zelda after the Nintendo character.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the first trailer for William H. Macy's Rudderless. This is the first film that he has directed, and it is really quite beautiful. I loved it. I saw it at Sundance earlier this year, and it's one of those moving, inspirational films that needs to be seen. Here's the story description:

Billy Crudup plays Sam, a former high-profile advertising executive whose life is torn apart by the sudden death of his son. Living off the grid on a docked sailboat, he wastes away his days while drowning his pain in alcohol. When Sam discovers a box filled with his son's demo tapes and lyrics, his own child’s musical talent is a revelation for him, a grieving father who felt he’d been absent from his son’s life. Communing with his deceased son’s dashed dreams, Sam learns each song and eventually musters the will to perform one at a local bar. When Quentin, a young musician in the audience, is captivated by the song, the unlikely duo forms a rock band that becomes surprisingly popular and revitalizes both of their lives.

The movie will be released in theaters on October 17th. You can read my review for the film here.  It stars Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Felcity Huffman, and Jamie Chung with Selena Gomez and Laurence Fishburne

There's nothing like playing with toys that can melt in your hands. This delicious set of chocolate LEGO bricks comes from Akihiro Mizuuchi, who made them by pouring liquid chocolate into LEGO shaped molds and then just waiting for them to cool. It doesn't look too hard to do, as long as you had the molds. I do like that they are strong enough to build with. It seems like it would be a fun thing to do with kids.

New Photos from INTERSTELLAR and INHERENT VICE

A couple new photos have surfaced for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, which feature Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. We also have our first look at Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice with Josh Brolin and Joaquin Phoenix sporting very different looks.

The images, along with some additional information for Interstellar, come from EW (Via: The Film Stage). Apparently the Nolan assembled a “fully enclosed spacecraft inspired by NASA” for the production. He also “projected black holes and the dizzying spin of stars onto massive screens that surrounded the sets.” This helped provide an optimum experience for the actors on set. That sounds like it would have been really fun for the actors.

Inherent Vice will be released on December 12th, and Interstellar hits theaters on November 7th.

With Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For being released later this month, Cinema Sins thought that it would be a good time to release an Everything Wrong video for the first Sin City movie. I remember how blown away I was by the first film, I had never seen anything like it before, and it was just so cool.

With a name like "Sin City," it was only a matter of time before we went looking for sins, especially with the sequel coming out soon. So here you go... everything we found wrong in Sin City.

I loved The Babadook. It's a movie that all horror movie enthusiasts have to see because it's pretty damn terrifying, and we have a creepy new trailer for you to watch! It's a masterfully made horror flick, and it invented an amazing new creative movie monster, one I would love to see more of! So hopefully we get to see a sequel somewhere down the line. You can read my review for the film here.

Here's the official synopsis:

Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her 'out of control' 6 year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel's dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called 'The Babadook' turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he's been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son's behaviour, is forced to medicate him. But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real.

Unfortunately, there's still no U.S. release date for the film yet, but when it is eventually releasedm don't hesitate to go out and watch it. The movie will be released in the UK on October 24th.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Villains Revealed

The Star Wars: Episode VII news continues to roll in today! Thanks to our friends from Latino-Review, it looks like we know who the villains in the story will be. First things first… SPOILER ALERT.

So far what we do know about the movie is that Luke Skywalker's lightsaber crash lands on a planet where it is found by the characters played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. This leads them on a search to find Luke, during which time they come across Han and Chewie. They team up and continue to search for Luke who has been missing since the events of Return of the Jedi. Apparently Luke is being held captive.

Now on to some new information! The villains of the film are the Inquisitors, who are loosely based on the Inquistors from the Expanded Universe. We've previously heard these referred to as Jedi Hunters. The are described as being "mixed with the hardended Sith look of Rebels' villain." They are the defenders of the Sith Order and they’ve been around for a very long time. The site goes on to explain:

When our hero(es) find Luke and the Inquisitors are revealed, Luke’s explanation on the history of this order is going to trigger a flashback to explain that the Inquisitors have been tied into the Sith all along.

That flashback is said to include a much younger Princess Leia that will be played by Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, as previously rumored

One other huge thing that we will see in this flashback are the Inquisitors serving none other than Darth Vader! That's right folks, it sounds like Vader will be making his return to the big screen as well. It will only be a brief one, but he'll be there! Suddenly that "far-fetched" rumor about WWE Superstar Sheamus being in Episode VII doesn't seem so crazy anymore.

That's all the information we have on this stuff so far but, like always, we'll keep you updated with all the Star Wars: Episode VII goodies.

Check out this badass cosplay for Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor! This armor is set to appear on the big screen for the first time in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This version of the suit is based on the comics though, and it was impressively built by Pablo Bairan. This thing looks massive, and I wonder how tall it actually is. This is some truly epic cosplay.

Unique Trailer for the Sci-Fi Film THE FRAME

Screen Shot 2014-08-14 at 6.23.35 PM.png

This trailer for a new film called The Frame is absolutely captivating. It one of the most unique trailers that I've seen in a long time. The movie comes from husband and wife filmmaking team Jamin Winans and Kiowa Winans, who also made the movie Ink. Apparently they've been quietly working on the film for three years, and all we really know about it is that it's "a mind-bending science fiction mystery."

The trailer is edited together brilliantly. It's very unique and it has some really interesting visuals. I can't wait to learn more about this feature because it looks like it has some awesome potential.  The movie will be released in the fall.

Han Solo Concept Art from STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

First we got a look at the possible new Stormtrooper designs for Star Wars: Episode VII, now we have some concept art from the same source, Indie Revolver. The concept art gives us our first glimpse of what Harrison Ford may look like as Han Solo in the highly anticipated film. It looks like he's sporting some Hoth and Endor gear in these. There's no word on if they will return to those planets in the story, but these clothes could be worn on similar planets as well. There's no confirmation that these outfits will be used in the movie anyway. It's just concept art, and there's a ridiculous amount of art that is produced for a film like this. Not everything makes it into the movie. It is good to see that he's still carrying around the classic DL-44 blaster though!

Screen Shot 2014-08-14 at 1.22.06 PM.png

Robin Williams had completed shooting four yet-to-be-released movies before he passed away. Those movies include Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, coming December 19th, the drama BoulevardAbsolutely Anything in which he voices Simon Pegg's dog, and a comedy called Merry Friggin' Christmas.

Today we bring you the first footage that has been released for Merry Friggin' Christmas. The story follows "Boyd Mitchler (Joel McHale) and his wife Luann (Lauren Graham) as they spend a dreaded Chrismas with Boyd's father Mitch (Robin Williams) and his family of misfits. Upon realizing that he has left all of his son's gifts at home, Boyd hits the road with his father and younger brother in an attempt to make the 8-hour round trip before sunrise."

The movie looks like it will be fun. It also has a great supporting cast that includes Clark Duke, Oliver Platt, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Tim Heidecker, and Candice Bergen. The movie will be released on November 7th. Thanks to ET for the clip.

I've got a entertaining animated short movie for you to watch today called "Cap'n Shmelly and the Sperm Whale," and poor Cap'n Shmelly has got some issues.

For years, Captain Shmelly has been obsessively searching the oceans for the whale that took his leg. The isolation of the long search, hot sun and lots of rum has left Shmelly slightly insane, paranoid and delusional.

The film was created by Omens Studios. It has a really fun tone and style, and it turned out really funny. Enjoy the show!

Michael B. Jordan on Their "Fresh Take" on FANTASTIC FOUR

In a recent interview with The Source Magazine, actor Michael B. Jordan talked about the Fantastic Four reboot that he completed filming. Some of the things he mentions includes his "original Johnny stuff," their "fresh take" on the story, and the advice he received from Chris Evans.

When asked about his experience playing Johnny Storm, the actor said:

"Yeah man it's been a lot of fun. Johnny Storm is such an iconic character. There’s a lot of personality traits and things to him that people are really going to look forward to seeing. Got a lot of original Johnny stuff in there and then you have – not a NEW take but a fresh take. We have a different take on different things as well. I could go on and on about it but I think it’s something that people will enjoy."

I'm curious to see what this fresh take is and what original elements he brought to the character. Jordan goes on to reveal that Evans, who portrayed Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), gave him advice:

"Nah. It is a reboot you know, it’s its own thing. It’s its own origins story. I did get a chance to talk to Chris [Evans] about it, I met him at this event and he was basically like, 'Man I can’t give you anything. You’re great, you’re awesome. Just do your thing. And enjoy it. It’s gonna be fun.' That was just a really cool piece of information, words of encouragement from the guy who killed the role. He really did a really great job and hats off to him with how talented he is cause he’s doing an amazing job with Captain America. I really enjoy those films as well so that’s kind of pretty much where that was."

Fantastic Four is being directed by Josh Trank and it also stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, and Jaimie Bell. I really do like the director and cast, and I hope that they give us a film that fans will love. It's scheduled to be released in theaters on June 19, 2015.

"You tried to destroy us, but you only made us… more awesome!"

Yahoo! has released a promo teasing the return of Community, which is going into its sixth glorious season! Yahoo! boasts, "Where we're going… we don't need ratings. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic show." As a huge fan of this series I am so happy that Yahoo! swooped in to save the show, and I'm excited for its return. How awesome would it be if Season 6 did end up being the greatest season of them all?

Jackie Chan Has Been Approached about RUSH HOUR 4

Movies_Films_R_Rush_Hour_3_010486_.jpg

It looks like New Line Cinema is planning to develop Rush Hour 4. In an interview with IGN, Jackie Chan admitted that the studio wants to make another film in the franchise, but they don't have a script and until there is one, he's not interested. Here's his exact quote:

“Lately they want to make Rush Hour 4. I said ‘No, show me the script first. I don’t need another Rush Hour 4. You need Rush Hour 4. Show me the script.’ I don’t want to do a rubbish script just because they want to make the movie.”

Talk of a fourth Rush Hour movie started seven years ago, but thankfully nothing ever materialized from it. The last thing we reported on it was back in 2012 when producer Arthur Sarkissian, said that he was working with Chan and Chris Tucker on it. Here's what he had to say about that and the direction he was looking to take it at the time:

"I am working on Rush Hour 4 right now with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. I’m trying to do it closer to how I did Rush Hour 1, more down to earth, more gritty, introduce two new characters and make it real the way the first one was. I personally was not happy with the third one. I thought 1 and 2 were very good. I think 3 got out of hand a little bit. It’s not a matter of just bringing them back to do another segment of that or a sequel to it by putting them in another city and having them bicker. I don’t want that. I want something new."

I have no idea if this is still what they will be going for, but it gives you an idea of where their heads were at two years ago. I enjoyed the first Rush Hour movie, but didn't really care for the second or third. I personally don't care to see another one. They should just let this franchise go. Hopefully nothing ever happens with it.

I really would have loved to see Norman Rackwell paint an illustration of Captain America. You couldn't get more American than that as they are both American icons. The piece above was created by Marco D'Alfonso, and it's the closest thing we'll ever get to seeing Cap in the style of Rockwell. He also included a bunch of kids dressed up as the rest of the Avengers team and Loki!

Two More JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH Films in Development

Dwayne Johnson is set to reprise his role in two more Journey to the Center of the Earth sequels being developed over at New Line Cinema. Parts three and four of the family adventure franchise are currently being scripted by The Conjuring writers Chad and Carey Hayes. Regardless of how much I liked their horror movie, I'm still not going to see either of these Journey movies. The last movie that came out in the series was Journey 2: The Mysterious Island back in 2012.

There are no story details, but Johnson played a Navy code breaker in the previous story. THR reports that Josh Hutcherson is expected to return as well, and that the two films could be shot back-to-back.

The Hayes brother also worked with New Line and Johnson on their upcoming film San Andreas, which is the earthquake disaster movie that they just wrapped. The production company obviously likes working with these writers, as it seems like they are their go-to guys.
