Second Sweded AVENGERS Trailer Is Equally Funny

0
0

Bryan Harley is back again with a second hilarious sweded trailer for The Avengers. Earlier we shared his version of the first trailer, and now we have his take on the second trailer. The special effects are non-existent, the sound effects are homemade, and that is exactly what I love about this sweded trailer.

Watch the most recent trailer here to compare, and check out Harley's sweded version below.

Do you prefer the offiical trailer or the sweded version?

Awesome Music Video Riddled with Pop Culture Icons

Check out this incredibly awesome music video for The Death Set's song They Come to Get Us. I don't know anything about this band, but this music video directed by Guillaume Panariello is very cool. It features a ton of pop culture icons that many of us have grown up with over the years. There are some great visuals of insanity as the army of pop culture icons is lead through New York City. One of my favorite scenes includes the U.S.S. Enterprise grinding buildings as it flys through the city. This is just a wild music video, and I enjoyed it. Watch it below, and let us know what your favorite visual was!

Daft Punk DeLorean Photo Shoot Is All Kinds of Awesome

I think Dan Almasy just made my Friday, and while it isn't a real member of Daft Punk underneath that impressive replica outfit, I give extra points for DeLoreans. Pretty cool concept for a photo shoot, and pretty geeky to incorporate the image of the guys behind the Tron soundtrack. Check out some more photos below and be sure to follow his name to see the full album! Before you do that though, check out the music videos off of their breakout album Discovery, which features the master artwork and production of Leiji Matsumoto, who created Space Battleship Yamato!

Yesterday we brought you a great new image of Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe: Retaliation, today we bring you three new photos from from the film with Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), Jinx (Elodie Yung), and Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki), who looks freakin' badass in that picture above!

Here's the Synopsis:

A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

The film hits theaters on June 22nd, 2012. This sequel looks so much better than the first movie. I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. How about you?

Lily Collins Cast as a Half-Angel Warrior in THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS

0
0

Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror) has been cast in the lead role of director Harald Zwarts' (The Karate Kid) film project, The Mortal Instruments. The movie is based on the novel written by Cassandra Clare.

The story sounds pretty cool, it's set "in contemporary New York City, [where] a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures."

I've never read these books, but apparently they have a huge following. It seems like it would make for a pretty awesome movie. It kind of has a Buffy the Vampire Slayer kind of thing going, with all of the supernatural elements and the warriors that could be compared to the slayers.

Collins is turning into a talented young actress, and I'm sure she'll end up doing well in the role. For those of you that have read the book, does she fit the character?

Batmobile Street Racing!

There's a new web series being distributed by Machinima called Super Power Beat Down. The first episode of this series is pretty freakin' awesome! It's brings together the classic 1960's Adam West Batmobile and pits it against the Tim Burton version. First they break down all of the specs of each car, revealing their strengths and weaknesses. Then they take the Batmobilbes to the street where they battle it out in a race. This is something I've actually wanted to see happen! Which car would you put your money on?

THE HUNGER GAMES TV Spot - Countdown Event

0
0

We've got one more week until The Hunger Games is unleashed on the world, and so far I've seen nothing but positive, glowing reviews! As a fan of the book series, it's exciting to know that we are all going to get the movie we want to see for this story. The new spot is a minute long and has a bit more footage. It does a great job of getting you pumped up for the release of the film.

The Hunger Games gets released on March 23rd, 2011. Check out the new spot, and we'll see you at the movies!

Here's the Synopsis:

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, with a screenplay by Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 23.5 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following. It has spent more than 160 consecutive weeks/more than three consecutive years to date on The New York Times bestseller list since its publication in September 2008, and has also appeared consistently on USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

THE WALKING DEAD - Glen Mazzara Drops Spoilers for Finale and Next Season

0
0

Show producer and writer Glen Mazzara teased a lot of spoilers for what's to come on The Walking Dead in a recent interview which ComicBookMovie picked up. I'm going to be honest I began to dislike this guy more and more as the interview went on and had a few personal gripes I had to clear along the way, but overall it was a decent season thus far and I'll for sure be in attendance for whatever direction he takes next season. With that said let's dive in, shall we?

Mazzara On The Season Finale:

We’re proud of this finale, we’ve been building to it all season, and we cant wait for you to see it … There’s more bloodshed coming. They thought they were safe on this farm, they were wrong … We’re on a killing spree here … There are answers about the nature of the virus in the finale … I will guarantee people will watch this finale and want to know what comes next. People will have a lot of questions, but in a good way.

Saw this one coming. Let's be honest, this season was all about Rick and Shane, and not much else. It got so bad, Terrence was MIA for an entire two episodes! If I had to put money on who was on the way out this season, I would have to say Carol, Herschel, and his daughter that tried to commit suicide.

Mazzara on Shane's Zombification:

We worked hard to make sure that revelation landed. We knew what we were doing there. We knew it would land a punch. We’ve never had a main character become a zombie to this extent. Those [rapid flashes of zombie mayhem] represent the storm in Shane’s brain to some extent … Amy was a weaker character. Shane is in a murderous rage … he’s going to reanimate quicker. There’s just more life in that zombie, believe it or not. We do have internal rules for that.

I don't put to much stock in this statement. Maybe that was something Mazzara thought of post writing, but last I checked Shane was more delusional and deranged prior to his death than in a murderous rage. He did have a temper, but that had faded when it came to the big moment. He even seemed docile as Rick managed to talk him down prior to killing him... so perhaps they should tweak those "internal rules" a bit. Maybe this will get a better explanation in episodes to come, but I'm not all that satisfied with that response.

Mazzara on Possible Death of Lori:

If it’s earned and character-based and propels the story forward, nothing is over the line for us. No one is safe on this show.

Apparently neither is Frank Darabont's original work either. Won't go into this one for those who haven't read the comics, but don't be surprised if it happens next season.

On Removing Darabont's Planned "Zombie Outbreak" Flashback:

Maybe we could do it in a stand-alone movie, maybe a webisode. But I’m not particularly interested in using flashbacks. I want to propel the story forward. That’s my natural inclination. The outbreak — who gives a shit? The outbreak started, now everybody’s screwed and we’re on the run from the zombies.

I give a shit, douche! I think a flashback would've been the proper way to start the season honestly as giving more background and initial response to the outbreak would've been an awesome concept as well as something to fill in the mainly zombieless season spent on the country-side. I know readers often say the show's focus isn't around action, but with the season finale being a horde attack that progresses the story, c'mon, who's kidding who here?

Will Season 3 Start A Little Faster Than Season 2?

I am very interested in keeping the pace up. I’m proud of the [early] episodes in season 2. I’m surprised at some of the feedback. That being said, it was always my intention to ramp up the pace. I do think the [recent] episodes have been better crafted at having a beginning, middle and a punch at the end. I think we’ve cracked it. We still will have slower episodes … this is a story about characters we care about. But I do think the pacing in season three will feel like a freight train.

Really? As I stated earlier, the only thing that happened that seriously developed a character other than Rick was Sophia becoming a zombie. Her death was treated lightly and we really didn't see too much of Carol, Dale died as a result of a completely pointless event that lacked emotion in my eyes, and then Shane died. Other than Shane, Rick, and Carl, I can't really say this season made me feel closer to any of the characters involved.

So yeah, I'm already well aware I'm going to catch some hell for this one so go ahead and let me have it! I can't help it. I want the show to go back to the emotion I felt in the first season, and as the season finale happens this Sunday, I'm sad to say I feel it slipping away.

THE AVENGERS - International Character Banners and Japanese Poster

Latino Review has shared some new character banners for Marvel's The Avengers. Earlier we shared some character posters for the film and a group banner, but Emileeid.com has posted some new international versions. There is not really anything new about these banners, but it is cool to see how the Avengers team members are paired together.

Synopsis:

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Check out the character banners below, and share your thoughts. The Avengers arrive in theaters on May 4th, 2012.

MTV has shared a Japanese poster for the film that shows the dual side of each character's personality. The primary images of the characters show the team in their civilian forms, and the background shows off their superhero personalities we have grown to love. This poster is a reallly cool way to show off the differences between the characters:

Watch: RUIN - Amazing Animated Post-Apocalyptic Short Film

SlashFilm has shared an awesome animated short film called Ruin. The film takes place in a green post-apocalyptic universe. It was directed by Wes Ball, who is best known for his graphic and featurette work for HBO and DVD/Blu-ray. Ball has been working on this project for two years.

Check it out below.

You can also check out a behind-the-scenes making of movie at Oddball Animation's website. This is some amazing animation, and I think it would make a great feature film. If not this, then I can see him being hired to animate a feature soon.

Would you like to see Ball do a feature length animated film?

RIDDICK - First Look At Vicious Creature

0
0

Here is the first look at a vicious creature from the new film Riddick. Vin Diesel shared the photo on his Facebook page today. I am loving the pictures that he has shared so far and am looking forward to seeing this film on the big screen.

Synopsis:

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

David Twohy directs the film that also stars Katee Sachoff, Jordi Molla, Karl Urban, Matt Nable, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk, Keri Hilson, Bokeem Woodbine, and David Bautista

Kiefer Sutherland Talks 24 Movie - Still Hoping To Move Forward

0
0

Kiefer Sutherland was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, and he gave an update on the 24 movie. Yesterday we reported that the long-planned film was put on hold, but it might become a trilogy. Sutherland stated that he may have a small window to film after the first season of his new show Touch.

“We’re trying to fit a lot of moving parts…We’re still trying,” he said. “If we don’t get into this slot, we’ll do it next year.”

I would love to see a 24 movie but would rather it not be rushed. Watch the video to see for yourself.

Would you rather they hurry up and do the movie, or take their time and make it good?

DVD Review: IMMORTALS

0
0

Tarsem Singh's Immortals arrived on Blu-ray and DVD this week from Universal Pictures. I had the chance to check this film out in theaters and again now on DVD. Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto, John Hurt, and Stephen Dorff star in this Greek mythology action movie. Sometimes my opinions of movies change with time and viewings--my thoughts on Immortals have not.

Singh has left his mark on the film with a unique visual style that looks wonderful on both big and small screens. Immortals is from the producers that brought us 300, so if you like sword and sandal action films, than this is right up your alley. It is easy to compare Immortals to 300, but I think the latter is a better film overall. The action scenes are pretty epic, but the parts in between lack energy and are at times very boring, as a result of a poor story and horrible dialog. I am usually one who overlooks story if the action sequences really wow me. The biggest and best scene from the film was shown at Comic-Con last year, and the rest of the good bits were ruined by trailers and clips.
The film's saving graces are the visual effects and costume design. The costumes are downright cool, and they look like they were fun to wear. Some of the helmets and weaponry looked especially cool.  The muted colors mixed with darker tones looked great in the trailers, and trust me, they look awesome on screen. Immortals uses the same type of CG used for 300, so it is nothing new. The violence during some of the epic battles is really intense and ever bloodier.
DVDs do not typically come with too many extra features, and Immortals is no different. My disc had a featurette called “It’s No Myth” and eight deleted scenes, as well as two alternate endings. If you are looking for more features in your home viewing experience, I always recommend you check out the Blu-ray version of the film. Both are in stores now, so choose which one you want based on the info above.

In conclusion, Immortals has solid performances by Rourke and Dorff, but a lackluster story and dialog. I was not impressed by Cavill too much, so let's hope that he takes it up a notch in Man of Steel. If action and men with few clothes on is what you crave, Immortals has you covered.

BATTLESHIP - Behind The Scenes Video

0
0

Here is a new behind-the-scenes-video from Peter Berg's Battleship, thanks to Comingsoon. Universal Pictures is set to release the film on May 18. The action and special effects look solid, but it is nothing we have not seen before.

In the action adventure, Taylor Kitsch stars as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper's older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.

Here's the synopsis:

Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancee; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.

Battleship hits theaters in May 18th, 2012.

Check out the latest trailer here and watch the new clip below.

I am a fan of Neeson, Kitsch, and Skarsgard so I will likely see it in theaters. Do you think this movie looks it will look good on the big screen?

A new trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus is available online, and it's simply amazing. Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Idris Elba star in the film. I have been sold on this film since I saw the teaser at the theater. The new trailer has tons of new footage and gives fans a great first look at the space jockey. There will be another trailer to be released very soon that will be 2:33 seconds long, so prepare yourselves for that!

Synopsis:

Brett Ratner May Team with Sony on MTV Biopic

0

Brett Ratner (Tower Heist) may team with Sony Pictures on his next film. Variety reports that Ratner and Sony are in final talks for a biopic that chronicles the rise of MTV. The project would be based on I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution, written by music journalists Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum.

Ratner is producing along with Mosaic's Jimmy Miller, and John Cheng will serve as executive producer. The script will be penned by Jody Lambert (People Like Us), who is also producing. The story is "an oral history of MTV, one that focuses on its growth in the 1980s and early 90s."
Rat Entertainment produced Mirror Mirror, which looks horrible and arrives in theaters soon. I hope that this movie turns out better. I grew up watching MTV so I like the idea of a film. If a Facebook movie can work, this may too.
Do you think that the story of MTV will make an enjoyable movie?

Here is a new character poster for On The Road, which features Viggo Mortensen. The film is directed by Walter Salles and is based on the book from Jack Kerouac. It stars Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Sam Riley (13), Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Amy Adams (Fighter), Kirsten Dunst, and more.
