Karen Gillan’s Nebula and Lee Pace’s Ronan the Accuser finally have their own character posters for Guardians of the Galaxy! We also have posters for John C. Reilly's Nova Corpsman Dey and Glenn Close's Nova Prime and Djimon Hounsou as Korath.
Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Benicio Del Toro, , Peter Serafinowicz, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Josh Brolin. It opens in 2D and 3D on August 1st.
Dimension Films has released another poster for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It features all of the main players in the story, including Jessica Alba's character front and center sporting a very different, hardened new look.
The movie was co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, and the film weaves two of Miller's classic stories together with new tales, as "the town's most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants."
The movie also stars Mickey Rourke, Josh Brolin, Powers Boothe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Martin Csokas, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Chung, Jamie King, Alexa Vega, Julia Garner, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Christopher Lloyd, Stacy Keach, and Jude Ciccolella. It will open in theaters on August 22, the film stars
Ever wonder what it would look like if you saw a bunch of superheroes playing pool in a bar? Well, you can either go to downtown San Diego during Comic-Con and walk into any bar, or you can just check out this great illustration by Charlie Layton. This is basically what a bar during Comic-Con looks like, only the characters in the art are in much, much better shape. Thanks to XombieDirge for the tip.
According to Stitch Kingdom, there are going to be a lot more cameos in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy than just Stan Lee. The site says that Disney sent them a full credited cast for the James Gunn-directed film, and who they all will play. It also includes a few fun surprises, including Nathan Fillion's cameo.
If you don't want to give your brain this knowledge then stop reading, because spoilers lie ahead. Here's the info they give:
Stan Lee will have his customary cameo, this time as the ‘Xandarian Ladies’ Man
And here's the big one they mention… "Marvel legend Howard the Duck is somewhere to be found in the film. This inference comes from a line in the end titles that credits co-creators Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik. Whether it’s just a film/comic Peter Quill was familiar with before he was abducted from Earth or we’re about to have a new entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just about anyone’s guess."
I would love it if Howard the Duck made an appearance! I seriously hope that his name just isn't mentioned. I do believe Gunn is crazy enough to add the character in there somewhere… that's if Marvel let him.
Here's the first trailer for the coming-of-age dramady Laggies, which stars Keira Knightley, Chloe Moretz, and Sam Rockwell. I had the chance to see this movie at Sundance earlier this year, and I really enjoyed it. The story may have been a bit predicable, but that's ok, because it was a solidly made film. Even though this isn't a movie for everyone, I think some of you might like it. You can watch our video review of the movie here.

Having spent her twenties comfortably inert, 28 year old Megan (Keira Knightley) reaches a crisis when she finds herself squarely in adulthood with no career prospects, no particular motivation to pursue any and no one to relate to, including her high school boyfriend (Mark Webber). When he proposes, Megan panics and given an opportunity to escape – at least temporarily – she hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika (Chloë Grace Moretz) and Annika’s world-weary single dad (Sam Rockwell).
The movie is set to be released on October 24th.
An insane group of people got together to remake the entire Star Wars movie A New Hope in Minecraft. It's been three years in the making, it's almost complete, and today we have a trailer for you to watch. It's a shot for shot reimagining of the original Star Wars trailer. According to Gizmodo, "the individual sets alone took six months to build—'no mods have been used, just custom textures and art.'" Most impressive. It will be available to watch here when it's done.
The documentary More Than a Game has been released online in its entirety for your viewing entertainment. The doc was created by Thomas Hewett and Jack Abbot and it focuses on competitive Street Fighter gamers who train and travel to Las Vegas to compete in the United States Street Fighter Championships. Here's a synopsis that goes a little bit more in depth.
Every year, thousands of players from all over the world will descend upon Las Vegas to find out who is the [globe's] greatest competitor in Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom, Tekken and other fighting games.The documentary covers more than the events of the EVO tournament, discovering the lifestyles of pro-gamers, their aspirations and accomplishments and their love of their past-time turned profession. Following the progress of US Street Fighter champion Justin Wong and UK champion Ryan Hart as they spend their final month of [preparation] for the games, traveling to and participating in the tournament. We have unique access to the lifestyle of the pro-gamer, along with a glimpse at a growing cultural phenomenon that has grown almost ten-fold year on year.
Ever since I saw the movie The Wizard, I've had an interest in the world of competitive video gaming. I've never been involved with it myself, but I know people that have, and it seems incredibly intense. You'll see it in this documentary that you can watch below. I also included the trailer, just in case you want to test the waters before you jump into the full movie. It's only available for a limited time.
I've gushed about the potential of Natural Doctrine before, but now that the English website is up, there are some things that have become a bit clearer. No less excited mind you, possibly even more, but we did learn a few things. The game will be released on September 16th for the PS4, PS3, and the VITA (yay! someone remembered the VITA), and the title does include cross-play between the consoles and the handheld.
In the previous post I said the game would include 2 camera angles, but I was mistaken, as the game actually includes three. One is right behind your character (3rd person), while the second one is an overhead camera for ultimate tactical control, and the third is an isometric point of view that fits somewhere in between.
Natural Doctrine prides itself on being challenging and full of options, so get used to seeing all the multicolored and squiggly lines you see above. To get the most out of this system, patience and menu digging will (most likely) be required. Two other things of note caught my eye. The first is the use of pluton, which is the resource used to power spells and magic. You can find it throughout the world by exploring, but there is only a certain amount of it in the game, so if you go crazy with spells at the beginning, you will not have any left for the more powerful forces towards the end. This little extra layer of resource hoarding brings out the survival horror nerd in me, and is a pretty sweet addition.
The other thing that caught my eye is the multiplayer mode. You can play against other players or team up for a co-op experience, and while the actual gameplay is the same, the units you take into battle are determined by a card deck building system. You can earn points to open more packs and get more powerful units, which if used correctly, ala Mass Effect 3, can turn into a truly addictive and fun experience. As long as matches don't drag on constantly, this could be a great way to extend the shelf life of Doctrine. For those unfamiliar with the title, you can catch the English trailer down below.
Mondo has revealed that they'll be releasing a limited edition vinyl soundtrack for Batman: The Animated Series, and this is the artwork they had created for it. Harley Quinn graces the cover of the beautiful album art, which was created by artist Matt Taylor, who said:
"This was a huge amount of fun to draw, especially the Joker singles scattered across the floor."
Danny Elfman created the music for the series, and after 20 years it's still freakin' awesome to listen to! It will be available for purchase at San Diego Comic-Con at Booth #835.

Paramount Picture has released the first clip from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It features Megan Fox's terrible acting abilities as she tries to explain to Whoopi Goldberg that there are four 6-foot talking turtles walking around New York City. The scene is pretty awful, so hopefully the rest of the movie isn't as bad. I've also included a TV spot that is loaded with new footage, some of which includes Leonardo showing off his martial arts skills. The movie comes out on August 8th!

This is a photo from the set of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. It gives us a rare look at a deleted scene from the film in which a small group of rebels are being attacked by Wampas. I would have loved to see how this scene played out.
I also included a video of another deleted scene involving a Wampa, and it includes C-3PO tearing off the warning sign to a room where the rebels keep Wampas, hoping the troops will mistake it for just another room… and they do. It's actually quite amusing.
Jason Isaacs has been cast as the villain in Lucasfilm's animated series Star Wars Rebels. Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Isaacs will voice The Inquisitor in the series. He's part of the Pau'an race, and on a mission to track down and kill the surviving Jedi on behalf of the Empire. Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo talked about the character saying:
"He’s cold, he’s analytical, he doesn’t get angry. We all took care to make sure our villains have real presence and our heroes just can’t walk all over him. This isn’t like cartoons I grew up with in the 80s where you’d have the villain lose every week and yet every week we’d have to believe he’s some sort of threat. When The Inquisitor shows up, it means something significant and it’s a definite challenge for our heroes."
Star Wars Rebels will bridge the gap between between the prequel films and the original trilogy. It launches this fall with a one hour special. Below you'll find a little first look video that focuses on The Inquisitor.

AMC has released a few new images from the highly anticipated fifth season of The Walking Dead. They feature Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Tyreese, and Carol all looking determined to survive in the god-forsaken world that they are living in.
Steven Yeun (Glenn) recently did an interview with e!online about the upcoming season and his character, saying:
"I remember a couple of scenes I would look over at what was going on in the scene and I would be like, ‘What the eff? What are we doing? How is this legal? It's grounded and real, too; it's not like torture or gore for no reason. It's literally, that is what would happen and we are trying to show it. It would not work on network television, let me tell you that."
When asked about his character possibly being killed off he paused and said:
"Ugh, I mean, sometimes it's rough, I mean sometimes its awesome. We will see what happens, yeah."
I really hope they don't kill off Glenn, he's one of my favorite characters. In a separate interview with EW, creator Robert Kirkman talked about what is coming:
"In our first episode, it’s very much going to focus on the story of Terminus. There’s a lot of big revelations that haven’t really come out that I think people are gonna be pretty startled by. There’s a couple other revelations that I think people might’ve gotten a little bit of a lead on. We’ll definitely be defining those in some cool ways and confirming some theories and shooting down others, which is very exciting. But I think the coolest thing about coming back to season 5 is that we really hit the ground running. What I mean by that is that we very quickly deal with the situation that we left them in — this trapped, victim situation where they’re kind of at the mercy of the people of Terminus. We really kind of expand the story from there very rapidly, so I think this is going to be a pretty fast-paced season with quite a bit going on. News is already out that Seth Gilliam has been added, and we’re bringing in new characters like we always do, and I think season 5 is going to be our best season yet. I think when people finally see the premiere, they’ll see what I’m talking about."
He goes on to say that this is their best season yet, which is always a good thing to hear from the guy who started this horrific journey.
The CW has released a long, detailed, official description of their great-looking new superhero series The Flash. I know a lot of people have already seen the pilot episode already, and from what I've heard, it's really good. The first time I see it will be next week at Comic-Con.

Barry Allen was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father was falsely convicted of the murder. With his life changed forever by the tragedy, Barry was taken in and raised by Detective Joe West, the father of Barry’s best friend, Iris. Now, Barry has become a brilliant, driven and endearingly geeky CSI investigator, whose determination to uncover the truth about his mother’s strange death leads him to follow up on every unexplained urban legend and scientific advancement that comes along.
Barry’s latest obsession is a cutting edge particle accelerator, created by visionary physicist Harrison Wells and his STAR Labs team, who claim that this invention will bring about unimaginable advancements in power and medicine. Barry has found another kind of surrogate family in the team at Harrison Wells’ S.T.A.R. Labs. Wells himself is quickly becoming a second father figure to Barry, who learned about morality and justice from Joe, and is now learning about science and technology from Wells. Wells’ ultimate agenda remains somewhat mysterious, but Barry is excited by the grander worldview that has been opened for him, and the friendship he’s building with S.T.A.R. lab team members Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon. For Caitlin, who lost her fiancé in the catastrophic explosion, working with Barry is providing a much- needed sense of purpose and a way to deal with her grief. Caitlin’s excitement at seeing Barry learn to use his new power is balanced by her growing concern for his safety – she and Cisco have both learned that accidents have devastating consequences. Cisco was a close friend of Caitlin’s fiancé and secretly blames himself for the tragedy. A mechanical genius who comes up with amazing gadgets that help Barry control his speed, Cisco is happy to suddenly have a new project –- and a new friend –- in Barry.
While he struggles to combine these two very different groups of people into a crime-fighting unit, Barry is still excited every day by his newfound powers. He is also shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” created in the wake of the accelerator explosion – and not everyone is using the new powers for good. Watch Comedy Central late night hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert fight over which one is the bigger Star Wars fan. The amusing video was made in support of the Lucasfilm partnership with UNICEF, which formed "Star Wars: Force for Change," a charity program that features a contest to win a role in Star Wars: Episode VII. I've included additional information on the charity below the video for those of you who want to be a part of it.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have our first look at Peter Dinklage, Adam Sandler, Josh Gad and Michelle Monaghan in the retro video game character invasion film Pixels. This is such an interesting cast to bring together, but judging from the photo and from what I know about it, this could turn out to be a great flick. I love Dinklage's look in the film, and it looks like he's going to have an attitude.
The movie is based on a short film of the same name that sees several popular characters from 1980s video games attacking New York City. These four characters are the heroes of the film, and they are a group of video game experts who are recruited by the government to help deal with the threat.
The movie is being directed by Chris Columbus.

Thomas Jane is in my opinion one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. The guy is extremely talented, but for some reason he's not utilized in the movies. He was great in films like The Punisher and The Mist, and he should be doing more.
The SyFy Channel has brought him in to star in a new sci-fi thriller called The Expanse. It's based on the best-selling book series known for titles such as Leviathan Wakes.
According to Variety this will be a 10-hour drama, which is described as "a space opera that is set 200 years in the future." The story follows a character named Detective Miller (Jane), "a native of 'the Asteroid Belt' between Mars and Jupiter where he is a dedicated cop for the corporate security force operating as the law in the Belt. He finds a new sense of purpose when he and a rogue ship’s captain lead an investigation into a missing heiress that helps them uncover a great conspiracy."
Syfy’s executive VP of original content made the announcement and said:
“Thomas Jane is exactly the type of high caliber actor we hoped this project would attract. The intelligence and nuance he brings to every performance is perfect for the role of Miller.”
I'm glad to see Jane getting more work, and this sounds like it will be a perfect project for him to take on. Hopefully he will get better film projects in the future.
Would you be interested in smelling like your favorite superheroes? Here's an awesome of cologne concept designs inspired by DC and Marvel comics. They were created by the digital design studio Animink, and they call it the "Superhero Serum" series.
Each of the designs is rendered in 3D, each bottle in the series is based on a comic book character, and the name of each cologne also comes from the personality of the character it represents. These characters include Batman, Superman, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Flash, Wolverine, and Spider-Man.
These all have pretty slick looking designs, and I love the names. These need to exist. If they did, what Superhero would you want to smell like? I can't help but think there would be a little sweat smell thrown into each one.

We have some new photos from Open Road Films' Max Steel for you to check out today thanks to Collider. I have to say I've been impressed with what I've seen from this movie. This is one of the films that could have easily ended up looking terrible, but these images show off something that could prove to be really cool.
The movie is based on the Mattel action figure and animated series on Disney XD. Director Stewart Hendler wrapped production last month in Wilmington, North Carolina, and we should be getting our first trailer soon, as the movie has a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
The movie stars Ben Winchell (Disney’s A.N.T. Farm, Necessary Roughness), and apparently he trained for 6 to 8 hours a day studying parkour, martial arts, boxing, and fencing to prepare for the role.
The feature also stars Ana Villafañe (Hiding) as Sofia Martinez, Maria Bello (A History of Violence) as Max’s mom, Molly McGrath, and Andy Garcia (Ocean’s 11, 12, 13) as Dr. Miles Edwards, and it was written by Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World). Below you will find the synopsis and more pics!
Max Steel is an in-depth “origin” story packed with captivating characters and fast-paced action.
