The Marvel Universe is full of all kinds of characters from different places around the world. Marvel has a very diverse group of of characters. This infographic comes from Movoto, and it maps out the hometowns of several major heroes and villains that reside in the Marvel universe.
GT Reader and artist Mioxy sent us over a link to a fun superhero art series he has been working on called "Paparazzi." It features a few superheroes and villains like Superman, Joker, Batman, and Spider-Man in candid moments of their lives. My favorite is Spider-Man getting caught pulling a Banksy.
Before Bond 24 goes into production, it looks like the script is going to get a polish. Screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have been brought back on board to work on the script that was written by John Logan. The two screenwriters have a history with Bond and have worked on the scripts for Skyfall, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, and Quantum Of Solace.
According to Daily Mail, this has been causing some issues behind the scenes, and will delay production. A source had this to say to say about it:
"Let’s call it polite turmoil. People are getting on with their work, but we have to wait for the script, so filming won’t begin till December, a few months later than they wanted."
Apparently one of the main reasons producers have asked Purvis and Wade to come back was to "punch up the script and sprinkle in more gags, emphasising the witty repartee between Daniel Craig’s 007 and Naomie Harris’s Miss Moneypenny, and focusing on the interplay between Bond and Ralph Fiennes’s M."
John Cleese (who played Q during Pierce Brosnan's Bond era) recently criticized the film in the Radio Times calling the new Bond films "gritty and humourless." The script issues were recognized before that comment was made, but maybe that drove the point home that something needed to be done.
The movie will be directed by Sam Mendes, and it's supposed to be released on November 5th, 2015. The question is… will that release date hold?
We are going to get our first real look at Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at San Diego Comic-Con. But there is a site claiming that the teaser trailer that is supposed to screen at the con has been leaked, and they offer a description of what they claim to have seen before it disappeared.
There is absolutely no confirmation if this is real or not, and I'm not familiar with the site that initially ran the story, kdramasters. I found the news at Comicbook.com who says that the site "often purports to have big exclusives and manages to be right enough for people to take them seriously." We are going to treat this as a big rumor until we actually see the trailer ourselves. I did look for a video online but couldn't find anything. This is the description that is given:
"The Batman vs Superman trailer starts with a dark screen with the voice over of General Zod's 'you are not alone message' the screen slowly pans and it reveals that the scene is inside the Batcave. The camera slowly pans to a shot where you can only see the back of Batman but he is not yet wearing his cowl. Every monitor in the Batcave is playing Zod's video. After the message is complete, Batman wears his cowl turns to the camera and the trailer ends with the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice logo being revealed."
It sounds plausible, and seems like a simple tease to get the fan drooling for more. But, it's also a description that could easily have been made up. We'll know the truth of it soon enough.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release May 6th, 2016.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the star of The Shield, Michael Chiklis, was going to join the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Up until this point, all we knew about the show was that it will be set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950. Jessica Lang will play a German ex-Pat managing one of the last remaining freak shows in the country. It was also revealed that Sarah Paulson is taking the the part of a two headed woman named Bette and Dot. As for Chiklis, it was originally revealed that he will be playing the father of Evan Peter's character, and the ex-husband of Kathy Bates' character. Thanks to TV Line, we have a little more information for you about his character.
Creator Ryan Murphy told the site that the actor will be playing "a strong man who’s married to Angela Bassett['s character. He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well – the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it.”
Chiklis is perfect for this part! It's so cool that he will be playing a strong man. I love this series, and I'm curious to see the insanity that they are going to bring to the fourth installment of the horror anthology series.
Last week, Tim Burton's 1989 Batman turned 25 years old, and I think it's just as awesome as it was when it was first released. In honor of the film, JoBlo released this fun video retrospective that takes us through the controversy, hype, toys, casting, consumer products and all other kinds of interesting information. This video reminded me about a lot of things that I completely forgot that revolved around this movie. If you're a fan, this video is worth your time.
Bruce Willis, Jason Patric, and John Cusack star in a new action thriller called The Prince, and today we have the first trailer for it. The story follows a retired assassin (Patric) who is pulled back into his old life after his daughter is kidnapped. In his attempt to rescue her, he has to confront his former rival (Willis).
The film actually looks like a decent, and it's one I'll definitely be checking out. It was directed by Brian A. Miller, and it's set to be released in theaters and on VOD August 22nd.
I love that Marvel had Hydra infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. That was such a great plot twist, that threw their cinematic universe into a chaotic frenzy. Here's a fun S.H.I.E.L.D. t-shirt design that reveals a glow-in-the-dark hydra logo. This shirt is just for the ladies, I assume because deep down some of them know that they are sleeper Hydra agents ready to reveal themselves when it's time to strike. Check out these incredibly badass zip-up hoodie designs that were inspired by Star Wars. They were created by Yvan Quinet, and they will actually become a reality! The artist has partnered up with a clothing company to bring these bad boys to life. They won't be making Hoodies for all of them at first though. They have to start out small. The designer explains:

It features several member of the cast talking about the characters they play and discuss the story that the series will tell. There's also some footage from the series thrown into the mix. I don't know what it is about Sundays, but there's something about it that makes it the perfect day to sit back relax and watch Stanley Kubrick's horror movie The Shining. I watch this movie all the time, and it's one of those films that never get old. Artist Matthew Griffen created this great looking poster design paying tribute to the film. Bruce Campbell is the freakin' man. He's a great, funny guy who is also crazy talented. Let's face it, big stars like George Clooney only wish they could be as badass as Bruce Campbell. If the actor has his way, there's a chance that one day he will make an Expendables style horror movies.
I had never seen this interview before, but During an interview with The Hero Complex 4 years ago Campbell was asked about a couple of films he'd like to make, such as a sequel to My Name Is Bruce called Bruce vs. Frankenstein and The Expendables of horror movies. In his reply he explained us what he'd like to see happen with these:

I want to find out the hidden sides of all these people. Some will play themselves, some will play alternate characters as well. I may approach Kane Hodder to play Frankenstein. Good hell in a hand basket! I hope this movie happens because it would be amazing! Just have someone work on that script so Campbell can bring this sucker to life. I want to see it now! While its been 4 years and nothing new has been reported on it. I hope that by resurfacing the idea, maybe something will happen.
Disney has released six character posters for their upcoming animated feature Big Hero 6, which is based on the comic book from Marvel. These give us our best look yet at a majority of the colorful characters that will be introduced in the story including Wasabi No Ginger, Honey Lemon, Baymax, Hiro, Fredzilla and GoGo Tomago.
The only footage we've seen came from a fun but short teaser trailer, and it looked great! I love the story concept and the setting of the film, and I think it's going to be a fantastically fun movie that both Disney and Marvel fans will enjoy.

Yes! The rebel X-Wing pilot Porkins from Star Wars actually is now a mini bust that you can own! The bust comes from Gentle Giant, and it will be available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con.
Jek Tono Porkins was played by the late character actor William Hootkins, and as you know, his character didn't last very long in movie. The poor guy was killed in action during Red Squadron’s assault on the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin.
The character is now immortalized with this mini bust, and we'll never forget the sacrifice he made to save the galaxy.
Sorry Warner Bros., but it looks like the Wachowskis' new sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending is going to crash and burn at the box office. From where I sit, no one is really interested in seeing this movie. I was actually really excited about it until that first trailer was released, then the more I saw of it, the more that excitement died. I really wish that wasn't the case because I usually enjoy the movies that these filmmakers put out. I will say that it looks visually stunning, but that alone won't save a bad story. The movie comes out on July 18th.
Henry Cavill happened to be in his full Clark Kent costume in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when he posed for this photo for the The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. This is an organization in the UK that was set up for people serving in the Royal Marines, retired members, and their families. They posted the photo on their Twitter feed this morning.
Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, I still think Cavill makes a fantastic Clark Kent and Superman. The studio made the right choice in bringing him on board. It's good to see him back in the role!

When we learned that Andy Serkis had been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII, many of us just assumed that he would be playing one of the many CGI characters that will be included in the movie. After all, he is the best and most well-known motion capture actor in the business. In a recent interview with Sci-Fi Now, Serkis confirmed that his company, The Imaginarium, will be doing all of the mo-cap work for the highly anticipated film. He then reveals that he will play a character in the story, but doesn't confirm whether or not it will be a live action role or a digital character. Either way is cool with me. I'm sure no matter what he does it will be great. Here's what he had to say in the interview:
"It’s extraordinary. I grew up with Star Wars and was a massive fan of the original films. I never imagined in a million years that I’d be engaging with this. It’s just come about so organically.
"J.J. Abrams and I met, and we just had this incredible kind of vibe between us. He said, ‘You’d fit really well in this universe,’ and I said, ‘I think I probably could.’ We’re working very closely, as I say, in two ways: the Imaginarium is providing all of the performance characters, and I myself am playing a character in it.
"I’m thrilled, deeply excited. Sitting at that read-through the other day was just extraordinary. It was an amazing event; being with the original cast was just incredible. I just think the script is so wonderful, and both the old and the newbies in the cast are just so thrilled and excited to get together."
The actor is mostly known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. But he's a talented actor outside of the mo-cap stuff as well, so it could really go either way. It just makes more sense to me that he would be playing one of the digital characters. Hopefully the character he plays is a cool one!
Claymation master Lee Hardcastle has creation a version of Ghostbusters 3 inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino. Hardcastle is known for his incredibly funny and violent claymation films, and just in case you missed any of them, you can click here to watch his disturbing work. I would actually love to see Tarantino write and direct Ghostbusters 3! That movie would be amazing, and I'm sure Bill Murray would have no issues with reprising his role if that were they case.
There is a lot of excitement building up for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World, and over the weekend the director sent a tweet out with this bloody photo from the set of the film. Spoiler Alert! It looks like one of the veterinarians doesn't make it through the movie alive.
The highly anticipated sequel stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D'Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, and Andy Buckley. The Jurassic World adventure is set 22 years after the nightmarish events of the original movie. It will stomp its way in theaters on June 12th, 2015!
