While we wait for Guillermo del Toro's vampire series The Strain to premiere on FX, here is some amazingly creepy art for the story that was done for the comic book. The art was created by the talented E.M. Gist, and I hope the vamps in the show look just as cool as they do here.

Trailer for Unofficial RAGING BULL Sequel BRONX BULL

I can't believe there were a couple production companies out there that actually made an unofficial sequel to Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro's classic boxing drama Raging Bull. But they did. It's called Bronx Bull, and today we give you the first trailer for the film. I personally think the movie looks awful. It's got a decent cast of talent, but the script seems pretty terrible.

The film is described as a "combination prequel and sequel that explores 'before the rage' and 'after the rage' of world middleweight boxing champ Jake LaMotta's tumultuous life and times."

The movie was directed by Martin Guigui (National Lampoon's Cattle Call) and it stars William Forsy, Natasha Henstridge, Alicia Witt, Penelope Ann Miller, Joe Mantegna, Ray Wise, Paul Sorvino, and more. There's no release date yet, but I doubt it's going to get a theatrical release.

Sin City star Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of Marvel's upcoming Netflix series Daredevil. The news comes from Marvel, but they don't specify who she will play in the series. They do give a little description of her character, though, saying that she will play "a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."

She will join the previously cast Charlie Cox as Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. Here's what Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, had to say about the casting:

“Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for 'Marvel’s Daredevil,'Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”

Here's the synopsis for the show:

Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Marvel’s first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, in addition to writing the first two episodes of Marvel's Daredevil), along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville, Heroes).

Daredevil is a 13-episode series that will premiere on Netflix in 2015. Dawson is a talented actress, and she'll make a great addition to the show!

Plot and Cast Revealed for the Wachowskis' Netflix Series SENSE8

Naveen Andrews.jpg

Last year it was announced that the The Wachowskis (The Matrix, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Thor, Underworld Awakening) would be teaming up with Netflix to develop a new series called Sense8. Up to this point all that we've know about the show is that it was developed from a conversation about "the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us." It's also been described as "a gripping tale of minds linked and souls hunted.”

Thanks to Deadline, we now have a lot more information on the ten episode series, including the large cast and details on the plot.

Naveen Andrews (Lost), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe) are among a 14-member international cast. As for the story, the following information comes from  Straczynski, who is the showrunner:

“The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”

I love the concept, and it sounds like it has the makings of a pretty radical series! I see a lot of awesome potential here, and I hope they are able to pull it off.

The rest of the cast that will fill the roles in the story include British actors Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter Ascending), Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner, The Butler), and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Torchwood), Indian actress Tena Desae (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), South Korean actress Doona Bae (Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending), German actor Max Riemelt (Free Fall), Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera (Volverte a Ver) and Eréndira Ibarra (El Diez), and Spanish actor Miguel Silvestre (I'm So Excited!), as well as Americans Jamie Clayton (Hung) and Terrence Mann (The Dresden Files).

I've got some enthusiasm built up in me for this show, and I'm interested to see how it develops from here.

Kevin Feige on Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN Exit and DOCTOR STRANGE

Marvel has been under a lot of heat since Edgar Wright walked off their Ant-Man project. Director Payton Reed has since taken on the job, and the studio is pressing forward. For the first time since Wright split with Marvel, studio president Kevin Feige spoke about the movie. In a recent interview with Total Film, he said:

"Ant-Man is still going to come out on 17 July [2015], we start filming this August. Edgar Wright, who I've known for many years, who wrote the draft with Joe Cornish - much of the movie will still be based very much on that draft and the DNA of what Edgar has created up to this point, but Peyton Reed has stepped in [to direct]. Adam McKay, a very good writer is reworking parts of the script - not the entirety of the script, but some of it - and it's going to, we believe, come to life in the best version of Ant-Man that we could possibly make. Again Ant-Man is a very important character for us. We like that people don't necessarily know what it is, we like that it sounds sort of strange when you first hear the notion of Ant-Man, or a hero that can shrink, but he's a very key Marvel character: he's a key Avenger."

I do love that he points out that Ant-Man is going to be a key member of the Avengers. I was really hoping to eventually see him join the team, and it looks like that's where the story will lead. Feige went on to talk about their Doctor Strange adaptation and exploring the whole supernatural side of the Marvel universe:

"Scott Derrickson has been announced as the director. Doctor Strange is a character that I've been interested in for many, many years and that I've talked about in interviews for probably 14 years, because I believe it's very, very important for us to explore every nook and cranny of the comic-book universe and we've done the street-level heroes, and we've done the billionaire superheroes [on Earth]. We've now done the cosmic side with Thor and Avengers and most obviously with Guardians, but there's a whole other side of the Marvel comics, which is that supernatural side - the interdimensional side of the Marvel universe, and Doctor Strange is, I believe, our entry point into that other realm, which has dozens of characters and storylines all of its own."

He then added that production on the film will begin next Spring, and they still have yet to cast an actor to play Stephen Strange. The three actors currently in the running are Jared Leto, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Tom Hardy.

I suggest you read the full interview as Fiege also talks about Marvel's Netflix series', Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos, and the chances of Spider-Man, X-Men, and Marvel crossing over with each other.

I'd like to think that I would be able to survive in Westeros, the world of Game of Thrones. According to this flowchart I would, but would I really? I guess we'll never really know. So far I've survived the harshness of real life this long, so I imagine I would be doing just as well in Westeros, especially with my talents as a master swordsman.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN - Wonder Woman Costume Details, Weapons, Screen Time, and More

Some more SPOILER filled details have surfaced regarding Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The information originated from JoBlo, and the content covers Wonder Woman's costume details, weapons, and screen time. They also touch on Batman's Batcave as well as other Batstuff, and Lex Luthor's motivation in the story. Here's the information they have to offer!

On Wonder Woman's Costume:

"The reports of Wonder Woman wearing the pre-new 52 jacket and leggings outfit are inaccurate. Completely. The description of the outfit from our source uses the term on multiple occasions. This Wonder Woman is ripped right from the comics and has a traditional, yet sleeker costume that's battle ready. She'll have a blue leather skirt, silver-armored cuffs that reach to her elbows, golden tiara (with a design of some sort in the center, possibly the red star) and a variation of the traditional-looking red top (no word on additional armor on it). Her overall appearance is described as Amazon warrior princess and definitely not an urban reimagining. She's there to kick ass and that's readily apparent. Word is that WB is getting a VERY positive response on her appearance to those they've shown it to."

On Wonder Woman's Weapons:

"That's right, not just a golden lasso here. Wonder Woman will have no less than FOUR weapons, including shield, sword, spear, and of course, the traditional lasso. It's also noted that she will wear the shield on her back, Captain America style, when not in use."

On Her Screen Time:

"Her character will be introduced as Diana in the film initially before we ever see her as Wonder Woman. She will have a fair amount of screen time and will team up with Batman and Superman for the final battle against an un-named villain who may be working or controlled by Lex Luther. Her origin will be intentionally vague, but she is brought into the fold to show that there are other superheroes in the universe other than Superman."

On Batman's Batcave and More:

"Batman is said to be a veteran crime fighter that will do anything it takes to get the job done. Superman is a rule follower, so they often don't see eye to eye, which is a consistent dynamic with their initial relationship. As for Batman's usual digs; Wayne Manor is there, but Bruce Wayne chooses to live on the property in a modern-looking cottage by a lake (not a van down by the river, though). Underneath the cottage is a modernized Batcave, which houses a Batwing, along with his other gear (Batmobile, batarangs, etc.)."

For more information on the kind of character Lex Luthor is in the film, and his motivation in hating Superman, head on over to JoBlo. The site also put together a video explaining all of these details which you can watch below. There's a lot of awesome stuff here to digest, and it sounds like this movie is shaping up to be something fans can get behind and be excited about.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters on May 6th, 2016.

Nathan Fillion Will Have a Cameo in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirmed on Twitter that Nathan Fillion will indeed make a small cameo in the highly anticipated Marvel space adventure film. When the director was asked if the rumors that Fillion would have a part in the film were true, this is what he said:

"@nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me."

It was previously rumored that the actor could take on the role of Richard Rider, a.k.a. Nova, but if it's a small part then we know that isn't going to be the case. There's no information on what kind of part he'll play, but I imagine that it will give fans a laugh. Fillion is such a cool actor, and even though he's only going to make a cameo in this movie, I hope that one day he lands a decent sized role in the Marvel universe. He definitely deserves it!

This visually stunning animated short film called "Bless You" is 2 minutes and 42 seconds of pure fun entertainment. The story centers on a man on the subway who has a little person in his brain who is preparing for lift-off. As a countdown clock hits zero the man on the subway sneezes, and it's seriously the most epic portrayal of a sneeze that I've ever seen. The ending of the film is pretty damn hilarious as well. The short was directed by David Barlow-Krelina, and you're going to love it!

A new clip has been released for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and it features Rosario Dawson as Gail using her sex appeal… to kill. She's a very good conniving femme fatale who knows how to get the job done. Ya gotta be careful of those leather-clad woman out there!

The movie also stars Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, and Mickey Rourke, who are returning to the franchise, while the newcomers include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, and Eva Green, who looks amazing in the movie.

Here’s the synopsis:

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.

10 Terrifying Disney Animated Moments

10-terrifying-animated-disney-moments-social.jpg

Disney was built on their animated cartoons and films. They've entertained audiences for years, and have inspired us and sparked our imaginations. Like many of you, I've enjoyed watching these movies and shows since I was a little kid, but holy crap! There are some extremely dark and terrifying moments that could really screw a kid up! Disney did some jacked up stuff. I've come up with a list of ten scenes from these kids movies that are the things of nightmares. I should let you know that I wanted to keep this list strictly Disney, so I did not include any Pixar films. I also didn't include such traumatic scenes such as Bambi's mom and Simba's dad dying. Look over the list and let us know of any other scenes that Disney screwed you up with.

Dumbo - Drunken Pink Elephants

As a kid I had no idea what was going on here! It was a mind trip, and my young brain couldn't comprehend the madness of pink elephants! Then there's the music that played during it! I would never look at circuses or elephants the same way again.

Pinocchio - Lampwick's Donkey Transformation

This scene put the fear of God into me, and made me never want to do anything bad in my life! Watching Lampwick turn into a donkey was utterly scary. Even when I watch that scene now, it makes me feel that same uneasy feeling I had as a kid.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Hellfire

Are you serious?! Disney included a sang about wanting to commit adultery in a kids movie? Then instead of trying to fight off the temptation and let it go he sets out to kill her instead… damn. On top of all that, there were all the lovely visuals of Hell.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Evil Queen's Death

Oh my hell, that Evil Queen's laugh and scream is seared into my brain. The scene includes the Seven Dwarfs chasing the queen up a jagged rock mountain in the middle of a lightening and rainstorm. When she's at the top, two vultures show up to wait for her to die. As she attempts to kill the dwarves with a bolder she yells out, "I'll get ya! I'll crush your bones!" When lighting strikes the rock she's on, she falls to her death and the vultures fly down to eat her remains. The scene is absolutely horrific in every way!

Fantasia - Night On Bald Mountain

When that winged gargoyle demon first revealed himself, I was stunned. Up until that point, I had never seen anything like that as a kid. When the shadow engulfed the town he stood over and all the ghosts, witches, and demons came out to play… it was like my nightmares were brought to life. This is such a beautifully animated scene though. I appreciate the darkness now.

Sleeping Beauty - Maleficent Dragon Transformation

Maleficent literally conjures the powers of Hell to fight King Stefan and Prince Philip. When she turns into that giant dragon, Philip practically pisses his armor. The scene was so dark that Disney felt the need to make a lighter live-action version of the film and completely change the outcome of the ending. The original was so much better! The fight scene between Maleficent and the Prince was such an intense scene to take in as a kid.

Mickey and the Beanstalk - Murderous Axe Rage

This is such a depressing cartoon, and it gets pretty insane when Donald Duck resorts to murderous axe rage. No words can describe the maddening look in his eyes, so just watch it for yourself.

Mickey's Christmas Carol - Ghost of Christmas Future Climax

Out of all the adaptations of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, this Disney version had the craziest vision of the ending. Scrooge is slapped into an open grave, and as he hangs on to a root for life a coffin at the bottom of the grave opens up and the flames of Hell come shooting out like a fountain. It's like they wanted to screw with our heads as kids!

The Black Cauldron - The Horned King’s Army Of Darkness

This is one of the lesser known Disney movies, and was the first animated Disney film to get a PG rating because of how dark it was. The most frightening part of film comes when the Horned King makes a sacrifice to the Black Cauldron and raises the dead. Skeletal remains rise from ground and march across the screen carrying swords and shields. I look at it now it's it's really a cool scene. What's funny is it's not as dark as some of the previous G-rated films that they made.

"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad- Headless Horseman

legend.png

The scene where the headless horseman reveals himself to Ichabod Crane and takes a swing at him is kind of insane. This is already such a dark story, but the Disney animators turned it into a nightmare with the horseman chasing Ichabod down on his horse with the freakin' blood red eyes trying to cut his head off! The fear you see in the character is the same fear I felt as a kid!

ZELDA: HYRULE WARRIORS - The Spotlight's on Link in Newest Trailer

I really wanted to title this "Erbody on the battlefield getting tipsy," but I feared no one would get the J-Kwon reference. It's a good title though, right?

Moving on. Zelda: Hyrule Warriors is the Dynasty Warriors spinoff coming to the Wii U, and for the second time over the last month, I am incredibly jealous of those owners getting to play this before me (the first point of jealousy was Mario Kart 8). While the game mechanics are roughly the same, you really get to see the Zelda retouchings in the newest Link trailer, including his spiffed up spin attack and his trusty bombs. Plus, you can throw down with a buddy in local co-op, and letting you know, now I get dibs on Midna!

For those who missed out on the buzz at E3, you can also scroll down to see Zelda, Midna, and Impa in action in the screens as well as in the E3 trailer itself. The action looks frantic, crazy, and above all fun, and it's one of the many upcoming titles from Nintendo that have me jonesing for a Wii U. Zelda: Hyrule Warriors releases in North America on September 26th.

Empire has unveiled two covers for their upcoming issue, and they feature the heroes and villains of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. My favorite part about these is the awesome new look at Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser and Karen Gillan as Nubula. Is it wrong of me to want Nebula to kick everyone's ass and win at the end? The movie is set to be released on August 1st, and I'm so excited it's ridiculous!

The New Founders of America are inviting you to celebrate your annual right to Purge.

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for their murderous thriller The Purge: Anarchy. The sequel looks a lot better than the original. The new trailer gives us more insight into the story and what to expect. The movie was written and directed by James DeMonaco, and it stars Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez, and Keith Stanfield.

The movie comes out on July 18th, and even though I'm not really that crazy excited about it, I'll still go out and watch the movie for the entertainment value. The real question here is… if the Purge was a real thing, would you take part?

Most of you are familiar with Jessica Nigri's work, but if not, there is no better place to start than her sleek and quite sexy take on the X-Men's number one nemesis (when he isn't, you know, on the team itself), Magneto. The photo above is my favorite, closely followed by the floating shot featured below, and both of those (and the one in between) were done by the fantastic Larry Alan Photography

They've actually been working together for about 3 years, so to commemorate that they have released a 150 page photography book, which collects some of their current and past work, and it's titled simply Nigri. If you're interested in grabbing it, you can find it on their store envy page here. Even if you don't grab the book, make sure to check out some of their other work, as it is all quite stellar indeed.
