Woody Allen seems to be an unstoppable movie machine! Regardless of what is going on in his personal life, Allen’s film Magic in the Moonlight will be released this July, and he is already casting a yet-to-be-named film.

Variety reported that Emma Stone, star of Magic in the Moonlight, has been cast to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Allen’s next project. This is the first time that Allen and Phoenix have worked with each other. The only other detail that we have is that the film will begin production this July.

When any more information comes out we will let you know. Stone and Phoenix are two of my favorite actors, so it will be cool to see them together on screen.

GeekTyrant VS - Episode 1 - Captain America 2 Vs. The Avengers

I am excited to present to you our new web-series, GeekTyrant VS! Every week two teams of nerds will come together and battle each other over a geeky topic. For example, our first episode includes two teams debating on whether Captain America: The Winter Soldier is better than The Avengers.

Each team has 60 seconds to make their argument. After they make their arguments they get another 60 seconds for a rebuttal. The most important thing about this is that there are no redos or reshoots. So if we have a brain fart and screw up, too bad! It's been recorded and you all get to see us mess up or rise to the occasion.

This has been an extremely fun series to work on. It's basically just a bunch of geeks being really passionate about the things that they love. It's definitely amusing watching us choke under pressure like I did in this first episode. Hey, it's not as easy as it looks! It's also great seeing us get extremely passionate and even angry at times.

We have an awesomely talented team working on the show, and they put a lot of hard work into bringing this to you, so I really hope that you enjoy it! The rest of our team consists of Jake Smith, Conrad Paur, Drew Lawrence, and our host Corrin Raush. We are also going to try tp mix it up by bringing different people onto the show as much as we can.

After you watch the episode let us know which side you agree with in the comment section below, and please feel free to suggest any other topics we can battle over in future episodes!

So, without further ado, here is our very first episode of GeekTyrant VS!

Funny New Red-Band Trailer for A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST

Universal Pictures has released another hilarious red-band trailer for Seth MacFarlane's western comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West. There's some great new footage in the trailer that made me laugh. Who knows, maybe it will make you laugh, too! I've always enjoyed MacFarlane's comedy style, and I can't wait to see this.

MacFarlane plays a cowardly sheep farmer named Albert. "After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test."

It comes out on May 30th and also stars Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Giovanni Ribisi, and Sarah Silverman. Thanks to MTV for the trailer.

22 JUMP STREET TV Spot - "Favorite Parts"

Sony Pictures has released a new TV spot for Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's hilarious-looking sequel, 22 Jump Street. I thought the first movie was great, and I'm looking forward to seeing this sequel. It just looks like it will make for a good time at the movies.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

The movie was directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and it also stars Ice Cube, Amber Stevens, and Craig Roberts. The movie is set to hit theaters on June 13th.

Final Trailer for Disney's MALEFICENT

"You know the tale, do you want to know the truth?"

Disney has released a new trailer for their fantasy epic Maleficent, and supposedly this is the final one. It features a bit of new footage that gives us a little tease of how a good fairy can go bad. It looks like she was in love once with someone… but who? I love that Disney is actually making a movie that centers on this classic and nightmarish villain. I've always thought that she was the darkest of all Disney characters, and it looks like they did a amazing job bringing her to life for the big screen. The movie opens up in theaters on May 30th.

Holy crap! You've got to watch this Jaws trailer that has been mashed together with the audio from the Godzilla trailer. It is pretty freakin' frightening. It's really cool how well the the footage works with the audio. Seeing this is the highlight of my day so far, and I think you'll get a kick out of it. The video was created by YouTuber user The Indie Toolbox, and it's called JawZilla. Thanks to our friends at io9 for the heads up!

New Clip from SON OF BATMAN - Talia al Ghul and Deathstroke

Just in case you forgot, Warner Bros. latest animated feature film Son of Batman is currently available on Blu-ray and DVD, and it's a film worth picking up if you haven't already. I saw the movie a few weeks back, and it definitely delivered some fun entertainment. It's easily one of the best animated films that I've seen from Warner Bros. in a long time.

The clip features an imprisoned Talia al Ghul voiced by Morena Baccarin (Homeland) and her captor, Deathstroke voiced by Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds).

Batman learns he has a son, Damian – and to further complicate matters, the mother is Talia al Ghul, daughter of one of his most dreaded enemies, Ra’s Al Ghul. When the odds quickly turn against Batman and Damian, Batman must become both father and mentor to the aggressive, agile new Robin. Together they form an uneasy alliance to try and thwart the criminal enterprise of Deathstroke and his army of ninja man-bats before there are international consequences.

Green Goblin Makeup Test for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Looks Great

Weta Workshop released an awesome behind the scenes video for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It shows us the team of special effects artists that helped bring this movie to life with their wizardry. One of the things that it features is a makeup test with Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin, and what they did for that test looks a hell of a lot better than what actually ended up in the film. I don't know why they didn't just stick with that. He actually looks like the Green Goblin here. There's a lot more really cool stuff to see in the video so make sure to check it out!

3 Clips from David Cronenberg's MAPS TO THE STARS

Three clips have been released for David Cronenberg's next movie Maps to the Stars. The movie has a great cast of actors that includes Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, and Mia Wasikowska. I love the films Cronenberg has made over the years. He has quite a wide variety of styles, and this seems different from anything that he's done before. It looks like a solid flick, though. Here's a synopsis:

The Weiss family is the archetypical Hollywood dynasty: father Sanford is an analyst and coach, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; mother Christina mostly looks after the career of their son Benjie, 13, a child star.

One of Sanford’s clients, Havana, is an actress who dreams of shooting a remake of the movie that made her mother, Clarice, a star in the ’60s. Clarice is dead now and visions of her come to haunt Havana at night. Adding to the toxic mix, Benjie has just come off a rehab program he joined when he was 9 and his sister, Agatha, has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was treated for criminal pyromania…

Maps to the Stars premieres at Cannes Film Festival this month, and has no U.S. release date yet.

Cool SILVER SURFER Series Art by Uwe De Witt

I don't know what it is about Silver Surfer, but I've been coming across a lot of really cool fan art featuring that comic book character recently. This amazing art series was created by Uwe De Witt, and the stuff he has here makes the character look so cool. I wonder if we'll ever see Silver Surfer back up on the big screen.

Creatures Featurette for Disney's MALEFICENT

Disney has released another featurette for Disney's Maleficent. It focuses on the creatures in the story, and points out that Maleficent is the most fearsome creature of all. It also includes some new footage from the movie involving some of the other creatures that we'll see. The designs that have been created for this movie art so cool looking.

From Disney comes "Maleficent"—the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty." A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well.

The movie will be released later this month on May 30th!

Hardcore Tigger Mugshot Art from Winnie the Pooh

hardcore-tigger-mugshot-art-from-winnie-the-pooh

Artist Dan LuVisi has created a dark and gritty mugshot of everyone's favorite tiger, Tigger, from Winnie the Pooh. This is a very bloodied and hardened look for the character who has spent a good amount of time in prison. There's a whole story that goes along with this illustration that you can read below, and it tells us what happens after he's released from Ashwood County Prison. We've featured several pieces of art like this from LuVisi in the past, and you can check some of those out here.

Tigger took a long sniff of the open air, having been nearly fifteen years since the last time he was able to breath such. Outside of the Ashwood County Prison was a greying seven-foot tall bird, who was not only fatigued from his job, but tired of seeing old friends come and go through the iron-box.

The large bird's name was Owl, and he had run Ashwood's police unit since he could remember. However, Owl had retired ever since a young boy named Christopher Robin went missing. But as the years passed, a deep promise lingered with Owl, and the reason he stood at the gates of Ashwood County Prison was due to that very fact.

Tigger slowly bounces over to Owl, his tail weak and scarred from years of prison brawls. Owl smiles, giving a quick glance at the prison, and then back at the withered, striped giant. “It's been a long time, Tigger. Glad to see you stayed alive in there.”

Tigger doesn't flinch, his jet-black eyes stuck on Owl's oval saucers. He goes to release a feisty rebuttal, but holds it back in, only replying with one question: “Why'd you come here, Owl?”

Owl smiles, but it is not one summoned from happiness. “Oh Tigger,” he says, placing his feathers on the beast's shoulder. “I came here to tell you that we have finally found Christopher.”

Hours later, Tigger sits with Owl inside of his tree-carved manor. Tigger looks at the old photos, reminiscing of the younger years spent in Ashwood's vibrant forest. Owl interrupts, as he places a cup of coffee in front of Tigger. Tigger reaches for it, but then combines whiskey from a flask.

“Still on the juice?” Owl asks, as he watches Tigger close the cap, swooshing and mixing the two liquids together.

Tigger looks down at the bottle, a dark history behind it. He places it behind him, back into his pants pocket. Ignoring the question, he bargains another. “You said you found Christopher? Where is he, Owl?”

Owl sighs, lifting a folder and placing it down in front of Tigger. “I don't know if words would do it justice. Look for yourself, kid.”

Tigger pauses, now not wanting to travel down the rabbit hole. He finally opens the folder, only to find what nightmares are made of inside, displayed through horrific photographs. He quickly closes the folder, pushing it away with his free hand. “It can't be. Goddammit Owl, who did this?”

Owl sits, taking the folder away from him. “We found Christopher's body three years ago. He was twenty five, living alone just twenty miles outside of Ashwood. Kid was suffering from schizophrenia they said, lost contact with a lot of his close friends, eventually dropping down into narcotics. We believe he began selling the dope he was using. Ended up working with some bad people, who worked for even worse.”

Tigger is now pissed, the flask is back out. “Get on with it.”

Owl smiles, knowing Tigger's inner rage. “The friends he was hanging with, worked for your old friend.”

Tigger freezes. An image passes by his eyes. “But he died in the explosion...”

Owl tosses a folder in front of him. On it, the label reads “THE BEAR”

“So you thought,” Owl says. “He reappeared several years after you got put away. We figured he faked his death at the Great Honey Pot Robbery. Word is Pooh and his Pals have made a return, and they're taking out anyone that steps into Ashwood's territory.”

Tigger opens THE BEAR folder, revealing photos of the one responsible for such nightmares. This is no yellow bear he once knew. This is the Devil. He looks back at Owl, closing the folder.

“So what now?” Tigger says, closing the folder. He now drinks strictly from the flask.

“That's why I released you. I want you to find and locate Pooh and his Pals and take them out one by one.” Owl says, now his eyes as serious as Tigger's. “This job is off the grid, you hear me? You and I are the only intel on it, and it stays that way.”

Tigger sits for a moment, before standing up and making his way to the wooden leaf-shaped door. He pauses, looking back at Owl.

“After all of these years...” Tigger asks as he holds the door open. “Why me?”

Owl smiles, sipping his coffee. “Because hunting is what Tiggers do best.”

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 Has a Director and Release Date

James Wan's Insidious films have been awesome horror movies. I loved the first two, and I'm excited for the third one. Unfortunately, Wan will not be back to direct Insidious: Chapter 3. Instead it will be helmed by Leigh Whannell, who is the guy who wrote the first two films. He also co-created the Saw franchise with Wan.

Insidious: Chapter 3 will be the first feature film that Whannell will direct. He's a great choice to take it on the sequel. After all, he knows the story better than anyone. He will start shooting the film this summer on July 7th, and it will be released in theaters on April 3rd, 2015.

The first two movies starred Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Lin Shaye and the story centered on a family dealing with a demonic possession. There's no information on who will be back for the third film or what the story will entail. I'm sure it will be just as good as the first two though. I can't wait to see how they move the story forward.

New FLINTSTONES Movie in Development at Warner Bros.

Yabba Dabba Doo! Warner Bros. bringing The Flintstones back to the big screen! Only this time around they are going to develop it as an animated feature film. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing the movie, which will be written by Chris Henchy. Henchy co-wrote the script for Ferrell and Zack Galifianakis' comedy The Campaign.

I used to watch reruns of the 1960s cartoon series all the time when I was growing up. The show was set in the stone age and followed the silly lives of Fred Flintstone, his wife Wilma, his best friend Barney Rubble, and Barney's wife Betty. They lived in a town named Bedrock, and Fred worked in a rock quarry. They lived a modern stone age family life, and it was always fun to watch.

In 1994 Universal Pictures and producer Steven Spielberg made a live-action film that starred John Goodman, Elizabeth Perkins, Rick Moranis, and Rosie O’DonnellElizabeth Taylor even played Flintstone’s mother-in-law. The movie was incredibly awful in every way. If you haven't seen it yet, don't waste your time. The film was bound to be a disaster. I don't know if you knew this or not, but there were 32 writers who worked on that script. That's never a good thing.

There's a solid team of producers on board to develop this new animated feature, and I think they will steer it in the right direction. There's no way that it could be any worse than the live action version.

Here's a new international trailer for Phil Lord and Chris Miller's 22 Jump Street. It's loaded with more fun footage from the film that fans of the franchise should enjoy, and wow, there are a lot of f-words in that last sentence!

The movie stars Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Amber Stevens, Jillian Bell, and Craig Roberts. Here's the synopsis:

It's finally here! 20th Century Fox has released the full length trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and it looks incredible. This is going to be such an intense film. There's some moments in the trailer that might send some chills down your spine, especially with Caesar and his ape army. It seems like director Matt Reeves made a great sequel, and I'm excited about seeing it!

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth¹s dominant species.

The movie comes out on July 18th, 2014! I've also included an new international trailer as well.

I am a product of the '80s, and I loved growing up in that era. I look back at that time and there are so many awesome things that I enjoyed. YouTube user The Peterson created this video called "Remember 1988" that gives us a flashback of all the pop culture awesomeness from that year. It was fun to watch this video and be reminded of the things that I was into back then, like Garfield, video games, and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, which my brothers and I watched all the freakin' time! Check out the video and let us know what your favorite part of 1988 was.

Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) get up close and personal in one of these new photos from X-Men: Days of Future Past. I like the relationship that was set up between Beast and Mystique in First Class, and I'm hoping they expand that a little more in the upcoming sequel. The other photo is just a close up shot of Lawrence's face, and she's looking very concerned about something. The movie will be released in theaters on May 23rd! Maybe I'll see you there.
