Walt Disney Pictures has sent us a 10-minute clip for John Carter. Andrew Stanton (Wall-E) wrote and directed this sci-fi action adventure that stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Polly Walker, Thomas Haden Church, and Willem Dafoe.

The clip below shows a young version of Edgar Rice Burroughs (played by Daryl Sabara) and it sets the films story in motion. I am very excited to see this movie and think there will be a nice mix of action, sci-fi and even some comedy.

Watch it below and share your thoughts, does this ten minute clip help sell you on seeing this movie?

Here is the official synopsis:

From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

The cast of Community has teamed up to bring us a series or animated promo shorts set to debut on Hulu on March 7th. Their are three shorts will be released over three consecutive days and it's titled Abed's Master Key. Each episode will be two minutes long.

It great that the show is coming back to finish off its third season, but there's a big chance it wont be coming back after that.

Here's the synopsis:

In the three-part sequence of "Abed's Master Key," Dean Pelton hires Abed as his temporary assistant. Entrusted with a Greendale Master Key, Abed abuses his power to help his friends, and after Britta confronts Abed, she heads down the same dark path.

Chris Van Amburg, senior vice president of U.S. marketing had this to say in a statement,

These animated shorts are a vital component to our multi-pronged campaign aimed at driving awareness to the show's return to NBC on March 15. The 'Community' actors and team were eager to lend their voices and support to an effort intended to engage their loyal fan base that has rabidly kept the show thriving via flash mobs, fan art, viral videos, dedicated fan sites and on Facebook and Twitter.

From the press release:

On Thursday, March 15 at 8/7c, "Community" returns to the NBC lineup with the episode, "Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts," in which Andre (Malcolm Jamaal Warner) and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) plan to remarry, throwing Annie and Britta into wedding-planning mode. Jeff, meanwhile, prepares a speech while Troy and Abed practice acting normal. Elsewhere, Pierce and Shirley present a sandwich-shop proposal to Dean Pelton.

Created by Dan Harmon ("The Sarah Silverman Program"), "Community" is a smart comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. Watch the First 10 Minutes of THE FP - The Warriors Meets Dance Dance Revolution

Last month we showed you a red-band trailer for a hilariously gritty gang warfare film called The FP. The movie is set in "a near post-apocalyptic future, and centers on two rival neon-clad gangs raging an underground turf war for dominance of Fraizer Park (“The FP”) in the deadly arena of “Beat-Beat Revelation” – a competitive dance-fight video game." It sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it's something I would watch because it's such an interestesting, different, and over-the-top concept that I think I might enjoy it.

Check out this synopsis:

In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park ('The FP') in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game "Beat-Beat Revelation." After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. From the producers of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and featuring narration by James Remar (THE WARRIORS), THE FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear that Moviefone calls "a rare ready-made cult hit.

The movie is set to be released in select limited theaters on March 16th, 2012. Watch the first 10 minutes, and let us know if you've ever been hooked on the video game Dance Dance Revolution!

MEN IN BLACK 3 - New Full Trailer Released!

A fun new trailer has been released for Men in Black 3, showing us that the film might be entertaining. There was a big chance that this movie could end up being disappointing due to all of the issues they production had. I can't help but laugh whenever I see Josh Brolin playing Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K, he does an incredible impression.

The movie was directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and also stars Will Smith, Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Alice Eve and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Here's the synopsis:

Agents J and K are back... in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him -- secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

The movie hits theaters on May 25th, 2012. Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think! Does the movie look better than you thought it would be?

If you missed last night's episode of The Simpsons, here's the awesome opening sequence that pays tribute to HBO's Game of Thrones. In the intro, Springfield is transformed into Westeros. It shows all the buildings in Springfield rise up like they do in the original series intro and includes the great theme music.

This is just something to tide us over until season 2 premiers in April. Enjoy!

Flying Robots Perform James Bond Theme

University of Pennsylvania students have successfully programmed flying robots to do something people have dreamed for generations, perform movie theme songs. Alright, so it may be a useless task, but it does show that flying robots can not only perform tasks that require a certain amount of control and precision and that many of them can operate in the same vicinity without colliding or dealing with remote interference! I'm only somewhat disappointed though as I thought I was about to see a robot play a trumpet...wait, what?!

Pixar's BRAVE - Japanese Trailer and Poster

Watching this new Japanese trailer for Pixar's Brave is like watching Pixar anime. It's fun seeing the voices dubbed over in Japanese. Unfortunately, we don't get to hear what a Japanese Scottish accent would sound like. The trailer does however contain some new footage from the great looking CG animated movie.

Here's the synopsis:

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In "Brave," a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Brave comes out on June 22nd, 2012, and features the voices of Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, Robbie Coltrane, and Julie Walters. Check ou the the new trailer below, and let us know if you think this film will meet or exceed your expectations of Pixar.

5 Ways To Be Killed By The Living In The Walking Dead (Possible Spoilers)

Warning: The Following Post Contains Spoilers With Episode Revelations From March 4th. Don't Read It If You Haven't Watched The Episode!

If there's one thing that I've learned from The Walking Dead, it's that the living are just as ruthless as the undead at times. It's enough to make me reconsider my group strategy should we ever have a zombie apocalypse. This countdown is a testament to the little known fact in television drama that the survivor group who stays together... will ultimately die off one by one.

5. A Suicidal Doctor Blows Up CDC

Dr. Jenner calls it protocol, but we all remember his spiel before the sequence started about a painless death. A good amount of the cast that I forgot about died in this explosion including Jacqui (don't feel bad, I had to google search her too). I think it's also worth pointing out that initially Jenner didn't give anyone a choice in the matter, and it took a lot of convincing for him to open up the blast doors. Crazy doctors, man. Watch out for them.

4. You're A Child And Rick Leaves You In The Woods

What a sad ending... If you had forgotten that Rick caused it in the first place! What an a**hole! What is this?! Getting rid of his grief? I never fully understood why Sophia couldn't have run with Rick in the first place when he found her in the woods? She was doing fine on her own, and with all the recent knife to the skull use, I really think the whole thing could've been avoided if he just used his head... Then again, Rick isn't known for his strong decision making skills.

3. You Try To Invite Yourself On The Farm

They should have just gone to Nebraska. To be fair on this one, if I couldn't stay in the farm house, I wouldn't exactly be inviting people to stay either. Good quick draw skills for the sheriff as well, I must say.

2. You Argue For A Man's Life

(Note: uploaded video is more hilarious than actual footage from show. Why people upload these things to Youtube I'll never know)

So the death toll of Rick's indecision is officially up to two after the recent episode in which Dale meets his end after storming off when the group decides to kill the prisoner. Wait, they didn't kill the prisoner after all? What was--I'm guessing--intended to be a great touch of irony just seemed like the insanely pointless death of the moral conscience of the group. The simple fact is Dale wouldn't have died if Rick would've just decided not to kill him from the beginning like we all knew he was going to do.

1. You Can't Beat Shane In A Race

Perhaps the most interesting death in the series thus far, Shane's killing of Otis, actually seems justified. Then he goes all Dothraki (OMG, Game of Thrones reference) and shaves his head like he's defeated or something?! I don't understand. Does he feel guilty or does he just want to look more bad ass? Whatever the case, Shane tops our list as the best human to human death in the series.

Do you agree with the order?

HALO 4 - Exciting Behind the Scenes First Look!

$

I was excited as hell to find out that Halo 4 was being created and that Master Chief would be back to kick some ass. Today we bring you your first look at Halo 4, which is being developed by 343 Industries, and it looks awesome! As a fan of this franchise, I couldn't be more excited to play this game when it's completed, and so far I like what I'm seeing and hearing!

Here's a short story synopsis:

Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012.

Watch the behind the scenes first look video below, and tell us if you like the look and feel that 343 Industries is bringing to the Halo franchise.

Here's a bit more detail:

Halo 4 marks the return of John-117 - the "Master Chief" - as a playable protagonist for the first time since 2007's Halo 3, as 2009's Halo 3: ODST and 2010's Halo: Reach focused on new characters and playing styles. Having been lost in space in the finale of Halo 3, John-117 and Cortana, adrift aboard the wreckage of the UNSC frigate Forward Unto Dawn, find themselves near a mysterious Forerunner planet, which was first seen at the end of Halo 3 once players beat the game on the highest difficulty setting. A key plot point will involve changes to Cortana and how her exposure to Halo and her operation beyond her natural lifespan may have contribute to her becoming "rampant." Developers revealed in fall 2011 that the game will involve a "shield world," a hollow artificial Dyson sphere type megastructure, possibly being set inside it.

The story of Halo 4 will be focused less on the Halo series' traditional straightforward first person shooter genre, instead relying more on mystery, exploration and discovery. Developers described the game as being grand in scope and scale. Forerunner elements will be featured extensively in the game's environment. Developers also suggested that the game will reveal how humanity and the UNSC have adapted to the galaxy after the end of their war with the Covenant, particularly how they have co-opted Forerunner technology.

Unlike the original trilogy, the story has been designed to be part of a three-game arc from the beginning. In addition, developer 343 Industries is aiming for a more complete connectivity between all of their future media than before, and the Forerunner Saga novel Halo: Primordium, the post-war novel Halo: Glasslands, and the terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, will "definitely" have "resonant connections" to Halo 4's story. Little information has been released regarding the storyline trilogy, but developers have intended that Halo 5 will be a much darker title before the conflict is resolved in Halo 6.

BACK TO THE FUTURE II Hoverboard That Actually Hovers!

Last month Mattel showed us their incredible looking replica hoverboard from Back to the Future II. As cool as that is, it still doesn't really hover. Today we bring you a custom made hoverboard that actually hovers! So we are now one step closer to making the world a better place. The board was created by YouTube user dondula7 who explained..

This is a display I put together using my prop hoverboard and an electromagnetic kit with laser stabilization technology. Its still a work in progress and a better display will be built to hide the electronics. The board can support up to 5 pounds in weight, so items can be placed on top of the board and still hover. This idea was inspired by Nils Guadagnin after seeing his instillation piece.

We're almost to the year 2015. We've got to have working hoverboards by then, otherwise future movie technology would have failed us. Check out the video, and let us know what you think! I can't wait for the day to actually see video of someone riding on a hoverboard. It's only a matter of time.

ASSASSINS CREED III Gets an Amazing Reveal Trailer!

Assassins Creed is about to get a hell of a lot more interesting, as the third game in the epic franchise will take place in America during the revolutionary war! This is pretty freakin' mind-blowing especially for a history buff like myself. I love the history of the revolutionary war and being able to play in this history of time, humping through trees, and killing soldiers sounds really fun to me. This is going to be such a different game than the other Assassins Creed games as the setting has drastically changed.

Ubisoft has released the first trailer for Assassins Creed III revealing what's in store for us, and it looks incredibly badass. Chief executive officer at Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, had this to say:

Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.

I'm blown away already. The game is set to be released on October 31st, 2012, and I'm looking forward to it. Watch the reveal trailer below, and let us know what you think about this new setting and time? Do you embrace the change?

Action Packed Film Clip for Disney's JOHN CARTER

Disney has released a fun action-packed film clip from their upcoming sci-fi adventure John Carter. The movie has been getting a lot of positive reviews, more than I was expecting. So that's good news for Disney! It's sounding like this movie is going to surprise a lot of fanboys and fangirls with negative attitudes, which I admit I am guilty of. The footage and trailers I've seen just weren't connecting with me like I hoped it would. I'm still looking forward to seeing it though, and I'm hoping for the best.

The clips features a scene in which John Carter is in a high chase flying pursuit, weaving in and out of some huge CGI obstacles. The film will be released in theaters this week on March 9th, 2012. Watch the clip below and let us know if you think it will live up to your expectations.

LEGO The Movie - More Details and Title Revealed

$

Last year it was reported that Warner Bros. would be developing a LEGO feature film to be directed by Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Robot Chicken‘s Chris McKay signed on to co-direct later on in the process.

It was previously revealed that the movie would be CG animated and that the studio would be working with the Australian-based animation company Animal Logic (Happy Feet, Legend of the Guardians) to develop the epic scale LEGO movie.

...we kept thinking, gosh there's got to be a way to take… if somebody wants to make a Lego movie they should make one of those on an enormous scale where you could actually build enormous, beautiful Lego sets and put a camera  on the deck at mini-fig eye level and bring the kind of bravado that like the contemporary action-adventure film does, but do it on like this micro-scale. So we always sparked to that idea and it was just about trying to crack the character story to carry that.

I don't know we're exactly are going to execute it but I would say the vast majority of the film takes place in an immersive all-Lego environment. So it's going to star mini-figs and we've created these really cool characters and a really nice character story between these mini-figs. And it's going to take place in a universe that's made entirely out of Lego to the point where if there's water or clouds or like a big explosion, that will be made out of animated LEGO bricks.

/Film had the opportunity to talk to the directors on the film, and they gave a few little details on the story and revealed the title of the film which is Lego: The Piece of Resistance. When talking to the directing due they referenced films such as The MatrixThe Magnificent SevenTime BanditsLord of the Rings, and Star Wars, saying,

It’s pretty crazy. It involves many worlds. Basically, the least qualified Lego characters in the universe having to keep the world from being frozen together.

I imagine what this means that they are trying to stop an evil force from permanently locking all the Lego bricks in place making them immovable. They want to keep this story in a all LEGO universe, and went on to explain,

One of the challenges that we’ve given to everybody, is that they can’t move any differently than the real minifigs, so they have to have like a punching fight where they can only do this and this, Lord explained to me, demonstrating the Lego minifigs’ arm-swinging motion.

They are actually building stuff with real LEGO's to come wup with their character and vehicle designs. Lord went into some more details with Collider saying,

our character design is ‘What if we put this head on this body, and we could give it these legs from this horse.’ There are some IP characters… it’s not just all original characters, there are some from other things that you might recognize.

Does that mean we might actually get some crazy cool movie crossovers like Star Wars, Batman, and Harry Potter, all in the same film? Because that would be glorious! Now for those of you worried that this could turn out to be a big LEGO commercial, the filmmakers told Comingsoon,

The thing about it is obviously it's not a big LEGO commercial for products. LEGOs are the medium that we're using to tell a story. If you've seen any of those brick films online people make in their basement, it's sort of one of those but with a much bigger budget, as if somebody had a really big basement and a lot of time.

One of the ways we like to think about it is that it's a medium, not a brand.

It's not like they're selling clay when they do a claymation movie, so it's sort of like that. We're telling an interesting story and the medium we're using to tell it is these little LEGO bricks and these little characters

Over the next four months the filmmakers will continue to work on the character designs, story and casting for the film. I like how they're going about making this film, and there's no doubt that it's going to be one hell of an interesting movie. What are your thoughts on how Phil LordChris Miller, and Chris McKay are approaching this film?

TROLL HUNTER Director Signs On for CARPE DEMON

Troll Hunter director Andre Øvredal has signed on to his first Hollywood feature film. Empire reports that the Swedish director is attached to direct Carpe Demon: The Adventures Of A Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom, which is being adapted from Julie Kenner's book.

The project reminds me of an adult version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Its story follows "Kate Connor, a woman living a life of suburban domesticity and trying to put her secret past as a slayer of demons firmly behind her. Except that her plan comes undone when underworld denizens start surfacing in her adopted hometown of San Diablo."

The book is the first of five installments to date, with Carpe Demon being followed by California Demon, Demons Are Forever, Deja Demon, and Demon Ex Machina. Dan and Kevin Hagerman (Hotel Transylvania) penned the screenplay. A start date and cast have yet to be announced.

Chris Columbus' 1492 production company currently own the rights to the project. 1492 is currently planning an English-language Troll Hunter remake. If you have yet to see the original film, I highly recommend you watch it. Øvredal mixes the humor and horror perfectly, and I think he is a perfect choice for this film.
