A couple of photos have been released from the upcoming trailer for the Jonathan Liebesman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The image above features Raphael holding onto a military Hummer as it falls down a mountain. The image below features Megan Fox as April O'Neil taking some photos in a subway with her cell phone. I'm excited to see a more clear version of these Ninja Turtle designs. The first trailer for the movie will be released tomorrow so stick around because we'll make sure to get it posted for you when it's live.
Here's a hilarious red-band trailer for a comedy called Let's Be Cops that I think you might actually enjoy. When I first heard about the film, I honestly didn't think it would be a movie I would want to see, but this trailer proved me wrong. The movie stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson, who both star in the FOX sitcom New Girl.
The story follows two struggling pals who "dress up as police officers for a costume party and become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted 'heroes' get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line."
The movie will be released in theaters on August 13th.
Here is our first official look at Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon in the highly anticipated Batman inspired series, Gotham. This is the character that the whole series centers around. He's going to be the man who sees the rise of Gotham's most insane villains, the villains that Bruce Wayne will eventually battle when he grows up to be Batman. Before Batman gets to them though, they are Gordon's problem.

Marvel has released a series of photos from Captain America: The Winter Soldier featuring Anthony Mackie as The Falcon. I'm glad they brought this character into the Marvel cinematic universe, it looks like he's going to be an amazing addition to the team. When talking about the movie and the character Mackie had this to say,
“They kind of use this movie to establish my relationship with Black Widow and Captain [America] and Sam Jackson’s character, Nick Fury, [Falcon] is really a military, tactical, [and] driven force. He works with Cap not so much out of self-preservation, but more so out of respect and honor because they’re both military guys and they both share a common bond within the military. [Falcon is] just a stand-up guy that can fight really well.”
It's going to be really fun to see what they do with the character in any future Marvel films. Hopefully they keep him around.
Some more art has surfaced from the Stephen King tribute art show that I had to share with you. This latest set has some of my favorite pieces, and they include art for Stand By Me, The Shining, The Gunslinger, The Mist, IT, and more.
The art show is called King For a Day, and is currently running at the Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles and will remain on display through April 6th.
This might just be the most detailed photo we've seen of Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I don't know what he's smiling about, the guy is ugly as hell and is never going to get laid again. And instead of changing the world he's going to get an ass-kicking from Spider-Man. The movie comes out on May 2nd.
Artist Tom Whalen has created this great piece of mashup art that combines Back to the Future with X-Men: Days of Future Past. The result is Back to the Future Past, and you can get a t-shirt of it right now over at Teefury for only $11!
Most of you haven't even seen The Raid 2: Berandal yet, but that didn't stop the studio from releasing a deleted scene from the film that you won't see in theaters. The clip is called "Gang War" and it's an insanely violent and bloody shootout that gives you a little taste of how crazy this movie actually is. Also, If this got cut… just imagine what they kept in the movie. Just a little food for thought.
Having seen the film, I'm not even sure where this scene would fit in, but it must have been a little subplot that didn't work for the final cut. The movie comes out this weekend on March 28th.
This is the second full trailer for The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending. I really wanted to be excited for this movie, it looks like it would be a movie that I would be stoked about, but I'm just not. The special effects and visuals look incredible, but the story seems very weak. Of course I'm still going to see it, I just won't be in any rush. My expectations are low, so maybe it will surprise me. It definitely looks like a unique movie with Channing Tatum riding around on anti gravity roller skates.
The movie also stars Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D’Arcy, Richard Pickren, and Tim Pigott-Smith. Here's the synopsis:
Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. It will be released in theaters on July 18th.
The El Rey Network has announced that Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn series has received a second season order of 13-episodes. The series premiered earlier this month, and it must be doing good. I haven't seen any of the episodes myself yet, so I'm not sure if a second season is something that people are going to get excited about. Rodriguez is excited though! Here's what he had to say in a statement,
“This is a truly unique property and one that has really resonated for viewers. It has been a joy to bring these characters back to life and have the opportunity to take our storytelling to a whole new place. We look forward to going back into production later this year and are excited about raising the bar even higher in season two.”
Scott Sassa, El Rey Network’s Vice Chair had this to say:
“Our decision to launch this ambitious original in just our first few months on the air was certainly bold but the payoff has been incredibly satisfying. 30-seconds of footage from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie premiered earlier this morning on the Today Show, and I actually really like what I'm seeing from it. This is just a little tease of a full trailer that will be released later on today. This actually could be a fun Ninja Turtles movie. I'm really curious to see more of their fighting style. Here's a synopsis for the film.
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.

Focus Features has released a new poster for their incredibly cool indie sci-fi thriller The Signal. I actually really like the trippy design of the poster, with the little tag line on the side that asks, "R U Agitated?" This was only of my favorite movies that I saw at Sundance this year, and you're lucky enough to have the chance to see it when it is released this summer. You can read my review for the film here.
The movie was written and directed by William Eubank, and it stars Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp, Laurence Fishburne, Lin Shaye, Robert Longstreet, and Jeffrey Grover. Here's a little rundown of the story:
Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour: the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an eerily isolated area. Suddenly everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic (Brenton Thwaites of "The Giver" and "Maleficent"), regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare.

There's still not enough footage to get me crazy excited for it, but it has some radical potential. I want to see the fighting style in action that has been compared to The Raid. This trailer doesn't give us any of that, but the designs for the turtles look cool! The movie is obviously trying to appeal to both fans of the series and kids, only time will tell if they succeed or not.

You've got to watch this incredibly fun action-packed sci-fi short film called Shifter. It was directed by The Hallivis Brothers, and I think you're going to really enjoy what they've created. I really like the tone and visual style of the short. There's some solid production value here. Here's a description of the story:
Los Angeles - 2023. James Striker is on the verge of bringing down the oppressive government that has crushed all freedom in the United States. But before he can take them on, Striker must get past a homicidal drone and an elite squad of EFT soldiers. His only advantage is the SHIFT, a process that allows Striker to transfer his mind into an identical clone body. New body, Same mission: Bring the whole system down.

Disney is truly a force to be reckoned with these days. It seems like everything they touch turns to gold, except for The Lone Ranger of course. The studio has a young Merlin project in the works and they've hired Tomb Raider scribes Patrick Massett and John Zinman to write the script. They also recently wrote Tom Cruise's racing project, Go Like Hell.
The movie will be an adaptation of the young adult book series, The Lost Years of Merlin, which was written by T.A. Barron. As of right now the movie is called Young Merlin, and the story focuses on "a teen who will one day be the powerful mage who helps King Arthur. But first he has many lessons to master, including how to temper his darker leanings and his pride."
THR talks about the story more saying that "much of the action takes place on an enchanted isle named Fincayra and features many a quest, on which the teen embarks with a female companion named Rhia and a wannabe jester named Bumbelwy. The antagonist is Rhita Gawr, a spirit world warlord."
This sounds like it could be a really fun movie if done right. It will be interesting to see who they bring on to direct the film and who they cast. Here's the description from the book:

This real life photo of Marge Simpson is the thing of horrific nightmares. This is an actual photo from photographer Alexander Khokhlov who uses 3D make-up effects to make his models so freakishly creepy. I also included a behind the scenes video of how this was all created. Thanks to Gizmodo.
