At the end of The Avengers, Stark Tower, the monument to Tony Stark’s extreme narcissism scarring New York’s skyline, was badly damaged. Only the A remained, and in the Avengers font, no less. Although Stark never visits New York in Iron Man 3, he seems to have been busy rebuilding, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently told SlashFilm that Stark Tower makes an appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

You get a quick glimpse, I don’t know if you noticed, of the new Stark Tower – which is not the Stark Tower it’s the new Avengers Tower in Captain America: The Winter Soldier]. We show it in there. It goes by *snaps* real fast during that [SPOILER] sequence. But it’s there.

It seems like an Easter egg they dropped in to establish the location for Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that’s pure speculation. All Marvel movies have ties to the rest of the cinematic universe, and this one is no exception. That's part of the fun.

I saw the movie this week, and I didn’t notice the tower. But if you know it’s coming, maybe you can keep an eye out. I won’t fill in the slightly spoilery word, but I’ll tell you it comes at a time when a lot of people and places are flashing by onscreen. The more eagle-eyed among you may spot it and some other Marvel Phase 3 clues. I’ll be looking for it when I re-watch it after the movie comes out on (say it with me!) April 4.

Yes, Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies is a real movie, and today we have a trailer for it for you to watch. This movie is exactly what the title says it is, and it's an insanely ridiculous concept that you're either going to love or hate. It's just one of those movies that spews absurdity. 

It was written and directed by Cody Knotts, and it stars "Rowdy” Roddy Piper, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, and Matt Hardy. They play a group of wrestlers (obviously) who are part of an event at an abandoned prison. As you might guess, the abandoned prison is overrun with zombies. Here's a lengthy detailed synopsis:

“Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” is exactly as it sounds — sports entertainment icons and local ring talent using their signature fighting styles, athleticism and anything they can get their hands on to fend off the undead.

An abandoned prison is the battlefield as a troupe of professional wrestlers are booked for a private show, only to be faced with the undead. Unfortunately for the zombie nation, they aren’t just facing any group of professional wrestlers, they are facing living legends like WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Matt Hardy, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, former ECW World champions “The Franchise” Shane Douglas and even Olympic medalist turned WWE and TNA World champion Kurt Angle!

Other wrestlers in the cast are Ryan “The Steel City Prodigy” Mitchell, Shane Taylor, Ryan Edmonds and Facade. Taya Parker, Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2009, and Reb Sky, Howard Stern’s Woman of the Year and Shannon Hart are in the cast, as is a guy with a mustache you have to see to believe.

The main villain in the film is played by Renegade Wrestling Alliance legend and former McKeesport-based Pro Wrestling eXpress superstar Ashton Amherst. He calls upon dark forces to exact revenge on “The Franchise” Shane Douglas for killing his brother during a wrestling match. He leads an ever-growing zombie horde against Douglas, his family, and the cast of professional wrestlers.

What happens when the guts and glory of professional wrestling’s finest are squared off against an army of darkness seeking to rip them to shreds? Blood and dropkicks!

The wrestlers all performed their own stunts and no CGI was used. Rowdy Roddy Piper even put one of the zombies, wrestler G.Raver, in the hospital after smashing him in the head with a cooking pot in the kitchen scene!

Movie soundtrack features music by Dead in 5, Reverent Skye, Ken Hampton, and 2011 Italian Golden Globe winning composer Marco Werba.

“Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” primarily was filmed in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with locations at the former Wood County Jail, Fort Boreman Park, City Park and several restaurants.

This incredibly cool Angry Birds san sculpture was created by Jakub Zimacek for the Sandstorm Events "Storyland" show at the Frankston Waterfront in Victoria, Australia. The event bring together teams of sand sculptors from around the world, and the challenge is to bring their favorite storybook characters to life. This was one of the entries, and as you can see, it's pretty awesome.

I haven't really been a big fan of the Marvel anime stuff that has been released over the years. But this one looks a lot better than what I've previously seen, and it's not because of Black Widow's anime butt shots and jiggly boobs. She does a good job of kicking ass, though! The movie is called Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher, and this is what it's about:

When The Punisher takes out a black market weapons dealer with stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. tech, he inadvertently stumbles upon a much larger terror plot under investigation by Black Widow, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Detained by the clandestine law enforcement organization, Nick Fury offers the Punisher his freedom in exchange for one mission; To work with Black Widow and stop the terrorist group known as LEVIATHAN.

The animation was done at Mad House, and the movie is set to be released on March 25th.

A brand new Sailor Moon series is coming to television this July! Anime News Network says that Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal will begin streaming on the Niconico website worldwide. Here's a synopsis of what we can expect:

Usagi Tsukino is a second-year middle school girl who is a little clumsy and a crybaby, but she is full of energy. One day, she meets Luna, a black cat with a crescent moon on her forehead, and she transforms into Sailor Moon, a sailor-uniformed pretty guardian of love and justice! As a chosen guardian of justice, Usagi seems to have a mission to find the Illusionary Silver Crystal with the other guardians and to protect the princess.

Meanwhile, the queen of the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl, also sends minions to the town where Usagi lives to obtain the Illusionary Silver Crystal, which has immense power. This causes strange events to unfold….

Wait, doesn't this sound like the first series? In the same vein as Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, this anime will be reworked and built more closely around the manga it was originally adapted from. This all goes along with the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon, and while I'm not the biggest fan of the series, I know more than a few of our readers will be pumped!

Thanks to Total Film we have eight new images from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past featuring several characters from the film and two magazine cover designs that focus on the past and future versions of Professor X (James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen). The movie will be released in theaters on May 23rd, and I believe we'll be seeing a new trailer soon, so stay tuned for that!

We've got a stunning animated short film that tells the heartbreaking story of two people and a cat who are stranded in post-apocalyptic underwater Brooklyn. The film is called Fathoms, it was directed by Joe Russ, and this is a short synopsis:

Follow Sam, Evan, and Hippo the cat as they struggle to survive and find meaning in a flooded world haunted by remnants of the past.

The film project was successfully funded through Kickstarter, and the director made it during nights and weekends. Over the course of six years he created the story, animated, and composited the film. The locations in the film were inspired by his commute from Park Slope, Brooklyn into Manhattan.

Fathoms is a film by Joe Russ, Inspired by the loss of his father to cancer at the age of 17, and informed by his love for all things scifi, mystery, and horror.

AMC has released nine new photos from Mad Men season 7. As you can see, they all stick with the aviation theme that we've been seeing in the marketing. They also indicate that the '60s are almost over and the style of dress is getting a little groovier. The speculation is that they are all headed to Los Angeles. For what? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The series returns on April 13th!

If you were wondering what Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan’s answer to the Muppet Babies would be, it would probably be something along these lines. The vast age differences among the characters be damned, this would adorable! Ooooh, what wonderful adventures they would have! (And what gruesome deaths some of them will suffer in the future.)

As we wait for some official casting news from Lucasfilm for Star Wars: Episode VII, the rumors continue to pour in. The latest rumor comes from Latino Review who says 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o has been reading for a major role that "doesn’t seem to be tied into the family lines from Episodes 4-6." The site then goes on to claim to have heard that the role she is up for might be [SPOILER warning]...

I don't know if you saw 12 years a Slave or not, but she deserved that Best Supporting Actress award that she won at the Academy Awards. I was curious to see what would happen with her career after that win, and if she lands Star Wars she'll be set for life. In my mind, being cast in a Star Wars movie will do more for her career than that Oscar she won. Well now wait a minute… now that I think about it, maybe that's not true… whatever happened to that Hayden Christensen guy? Star Wars didn't seem to help him out much, but let's face it... he's not an Oscar winner. So with an Oscar in hand and possibly doing a Star Wars movie, Nyong'o looks to have a bright career ahead of her.

There's no confirmation of this news yet, but let's sit back, be patient, and see what happens!

Looks like Godzilla won't be the only form of giant monster entertainment we get to see this year. This is the trailer for a cool-looking new web series called Enormous. The series focuses on a world that has already been overrun by giant monsters. The few humans that remain are fighting the monsters and trying survive. 

The series will be shown on Machinima, and it's based on the graphic novel of the same name by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour. The first episode was directed by Ben David Grabinski (Cost of Living short) from a script by Trollhunter director Andre Ovredal.

Enormous will be released online on March 20th. Here's the synopsis:

The film picks up years after E Day, the worldwide attack of massive insect like beasts, as the remaining humans from all walks of life must band together to survive and fight back against the monstrous invaders. Viewers are introduced to Ellen (Ceren Lee), a mother who has lost her child, and watch as she prepares to play a major role in the human resistance. The cast also includes Steve Braun (Wrong Turn 2), and Erica Gimpel (Veronica Mars).

The hit graphic novella series ENORMOUS (http://www.theenormouscomic.com), tells of how humanity is plunged down the food chain when an ecological event creates gargantuan beasts that decimate civilization. The series explores how humans react and cope with survival from multiple points of views and from multiple settings around the planet. In the tone of CLOVERFIELD and THE WALKING DEAD, ENORMOUS focuses on strong characters and complicated relationships with the monsters as the background.

We’ve got our first look at NBC’s 2 part mini-series remake of Rosemary’s Baby. Since it uses the book Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin as its source, we might actually get something that not just a derivative of the movie adaptation. Zoe Saldana stars as the title character, Rosemary Woodhouse, with Patrick J. Adams as Guy Woodhouse and Jason Isaacs as Roman Castevet.

A masterpiece of spellbinding suspense, where evil wears the most innocent face of all. Rosemary Woodhouse and her struggling actor husband Guy move into the Bramford, an old New York City apartment building with an ominous reputation and mostly elderly residents. HBO has released a great new video called Game of Thrones: Long Story Short. It's actually really funny, and it gives an entertaining complete history of how the epic series came into existence at HBO. If you're a fan of the series, I promise that you're going to want to watch this! 

Executive Producers and Writers David Benioff and Dan Weiss tell the entertaining and sometimes hard-to-believe journey of how the hugely popular book series are/were made into a smash HBO series. Narrated by Charles Dance, viewers get an insider's look as only the creators could tell.

The series returns to HBO on April 6th!

Weta has released a visual effects breakdown for their work done for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The video takes us through the process of how Weta Digital brought Smaug, Lake-town, the Lonely Mountain and more to life in epic fantasy adventure.

Middle-earth is a fantastical world of imagined landscapes and many incredible digital creatures. We completed almost 2000 VFX shots for the film, encompassing hero digital performance work, large scale water and fire simulations, complex digital environments, digital doubles of a large cast, and extensive creature work. Take a glimpse at the invention, artistry and innovation that the artists at Weta Digital used to make it all come together in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

It always amazing me what can be done with visual effects these days, and Weta works wonders at it.

There's a Superman short film that was pointed out to us recently called Resignation. It's described as being an immersive fan experience, and it's actually done really freakin' well. This is a very different and thought provoking kind of film. Here's a description of the the short:

Resignation is the gritty, action-fantasy, immersive film that turns the superhero myth on its head: As an alcoholic combat photographer with a curious, heroic past struggles with his job as a "profession witness," he must confront the fact that his dilemma may run deeper than he'd like to face."

The film was directed by Joshua Codwell and you can watch it below.

Among the many familiar faces returning for Captain America: The Winter Soldier are a new batch of heroes and villains. One of the new additions to the “good guys” is Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, who has been heavily featured in the recent promotion for the upcoming sequel. In these two promos for Disney XD and Disney Channel — which carry a disclaimer that the movie contains scenes that are “too intense for younger viewers” — we’re taken behind the scenes with Mackie as he discusses his character and what it takes to bring down the Winter Soldier.
