Last week we shared a trailer with you for an animated feature film called War of the Worlds: Goliath. Today we have an exclusive clip to share with you along with several images from the film for you to check out. I had a chance to watch the film recently, and it's very cool and entertaining! I think a lot of you would really enjoy it so make sure to check it out when you get a chance! It was directed by Joe Pearson, who sent us the following statement:

As you know, "War of the Worlds: Goliath" is a true independent film, made completely outside of the Hollywood system with a dedicated crew of more then 300 artists and technicians from four separate countries. Like our movie's heroic tripod crew, we were/are an international band of brothers. Making "War of the Worlds: Goliath" was a hard fought "war" for us all, but in the end a real labor of love and we hope it shows.

It's interesting that you use the word "geek" proudly on your site's heading, because this film was made by and for "geeks". By geek I mean all of you, who like us, love genre movies, comics, novels and games. Who love SF, alternate history, steampunk and animation/anime. Who can appreciate 1200 foot long armored zeppelin aircraft carriers and a multitude of kick ass tripod murder machines. Who appreciate great historical icons like Nikola Tesla and the Red Baron and can dig the image of Teddy Roosevelt machine gunning Martians.

If this is your cup of tea, then give "War of the Worlds: Goliath" a shot. We need your support. We don't have the big bucks of the Hollywood majors. We will live or die by the support you give us and word of mouth you can spread. We are out now on nationwide, one week theatrical (in stereoscopic 3D in L.A. and N.Y.) and a number of VOD sites. We'll be out wide on DVD and Bluray via Walmart, Target, Best Buy and others on April 1. So check out and spread the word.

If you do, I promise, that the war will continue. We will make a sequel. Hell we've got a big story planned. We'll make a bunch of sequels as well as comics, games, toys and novels. Thanks and remember, "Watch the skies."

Here's the synopsis for the film:

In a parallel universe, World War One is imminent as we follow the gripping story of human resistance fighters who march to battle against the second invasion of the Martians. In 1899, the Earth was attacked by ruthless invaders from the planet Mars. The Martians' 80 ft tall, heat-ray spewing, Tripod battle machines laid waste to the planet, but the invaders ultimately fell prey to Earth's tiny bacteria. Fifteen years later, Man has rebuilt his shattered world, in large part by utilizing captured Martian technology. Equipped with giant, steam-powered Tripod battle machines, the international rapid reaction force, is Mankind's first line of defense against the return of the rapacious Martian invaders. And return the Martians do. The rematch finds the multinational battle squad tripod "Goliath" on the front-lines of a vicious interplanetary offensive. This time the Martians are using even more advanced alien technology. In the crucible of combat, the young crew helming the mighty Goliath will be tested to the limits of their endurance and courage as they fight for Mankind's very survival under the onslaught of an implacable enemy.

The movie features the voices of Adrian Paul, Adam Baldwin, and Peter Wingfield. If you can't find it in theaters now make sure to check it out on DVD and Blu-ray when it's released on April 1st!

Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn are teaming back up for a new film called Term Life. The two actors have been making movies together since Rudy, but both actors made a name for themselves with the movie Swingers

Term Life is set up at Universal Pictures, and it's a crime thriller in which Vaughn plays a "thief-for-hire who takes his estranged daughter (Hailee Steinfeld) on the lam when a heist goes bad. Hunted by mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops, he takes out a life insurance policy on himself to leave something for his kid. One problem: It doesn’t take effect for 21 days."

Production is scheduled to start soon and Vaughn and Favreau's friend and colleague Peter Billingsley (Couples Retreat) will direct. The screenplay was written by A.J. Lieberman, who also wrote the graphic novel that the movie is based on.

It will be great to see these two actors working alongside each other again on the big screen. Favreau most recently directed and stars in a film he wrote called Chef

The Star Wars fan club out of Tunisia made a great little dancing video set to the music of Pharrell Williams' "Happy". The costumes are great, and it's a fun video for any fan of the music or Star Wars. For those that don't know, many of the huts used to show Tatooine are still standing in their filming locations in Tunisia! There is also a city actually called Tataouine in Tunisia which served as the inspiration for Luke Skywalker's home planet, and was featured at the ending of the X Files movie.

GAME OF THRONES Writers Know How The Books End

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, author George R.R. Martin addressed the elephant in the room that readers of the books which the HBO show Game of Thrones is based on have noticed for a while now. For those who are wondering, yes, he is fully aware the show is rapidly catching up with the pace of his books, which he has yet to complete. For Martin and the show producers this is becoming quite a problem as Martin has an idea of how he wants to end the series, but nothing concrete.

I can give them the broad strokes of what I intend to write, but the details aren’t there yet. I’m hopeful that I can not let them catch up with me.

Last year Martin sat down with show creators (David Benioff and D. B. Weiss) to discuss every character so they could begin laying the ground work for the ending. Right now Martin has around two seasons of breathing room before he either must finish the final half of his series of books or allow the television show to pass up his progress. It sounds like a lot of time, but if you've ever read A Song of Ice and Fire you'd understand why it took Martin 6 years to write the equivalent of the first season, and another 5 to complete the second. The books are highly in depth, and in my opinion why the series is so successful. Everything from set descriptions to characters' feelings are all in the book, and while Martin does like to take his time, he knows the show can't wait forever.

Maisie was the same age as Arya when it started, but now Maisie is a young woman and Arya is still 11. Time is passing very slowly in the books and very fast in real life.

Hopefully one product doesn't rush the other or cause the other to falter. This is a great series, and I would hate time to be the factor that kills the show!

GOTHAM TV Series - Official Logo and Detailed Synopsis

FOX has released the official logo design and detailed plot synopsis for their upcoming Batman inspired series, Gotham. This show is sure to be a hit. I absolutely love what they are doing with the story and these characters. I'm so freakin' excited for this! You can read through all of the awesome details below!

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world's greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon's story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

"Gotham" is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), "Gotham" follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

Growing up in Gotham City's surrounding suburbs, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards, Open Grave, “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.

Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city's highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes' hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, Bruce (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy's profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer.

As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham's criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith, The Matrix films, “HawthoRNe,” Collateral), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction's most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (acting newcomer Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor, “The Walking Dead,” Another Earth).

Although the crime drama will follow Gordon's turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, led by Police Captain Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara, “Burn Notice”), it also will focus on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, Alfred (Sean Pertwee, "Camelot," “Elementary”). It is a friendship that will last them all of their lives, playing a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he's destined to be.

"Gotham" is based upon characters published by DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Heller wrote the pilot, which will be directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” series, “Nikita”).

SINISTER Director Up for DOCTOR STRANGE

Last month we learned that Marvel was looking at directors to develop their big screen adaptation of Doctor Strange. Today we have a new name to add to that list. According to THR's Borys Kit, Sinister director Scott Derrickson is also in the running! Derrickson is a talented director, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing him develop this project. He might just be my favorite director in the running now.

It was previously revealed that they were looking at Mark Andrews, who co-wrote and co-directed Pixar's BraveNikolaj Arcel, who wrote and directed 2013s best foreign film Oscar-nominated entry A Royal AffairDean Israelite, the director of Paramount's upcoming time-travel movie Welcome to Yesterday; and Jonathan Levine, the director of the Zombie rom-com Warm Bodies.

If Derrickson is ready and willing to do it then Marvel should end their search and hire the guy! Doctor Strange has to have an eerie feel to it, and I know that this director can capture the mystical realm of the Sorcerer Supreme.

The script is currently being written by Kung-Fu Panda screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Hopefully they will turn in the solid script that this movie deserves.

Jason Sudeikis Cast as Fletch in FLETCH WON

Warner Bros. is planning to reboot the classic 1980s Fletch comedy franchise and they are looking to cast Jason Sudeikis in the iconic role famously played by Chevy Chase. The movie is called Fletch Won, and it's the first in a planned series of films the studio is hoping to make.

The Fletch movies are based on the Gregory McDonald mystery novels that center on an investigative reporter named I. M. Fletcher. I've never read any of the books, but the movies that Chase made were freakin' hilarious. I can only hope that the new films will be just as funny.

I think Sudeikis will be great in the role, but it will be hard to outdo what Chase did. According to THRFletch Won is an origin story described as "a gritty action comedy with heart and more tonally in line with McDonald's novels than the Chase movies."

The studio has been trying to get this film off the ground for awhile, but they brought in David List, Steve Golin, and Michael Sugar to write the script, and apparently everyone likes what they've seen. They are now looking for a director to bring it to life.

DreamWorks Animation has released their fun sci-fi comedy short Almost Home online for everyone to see. You can see the short on the big screen as well. It's attached to the studio's feature film Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which was actually a really fun kids flick.

Almost Home is an adaptation of the children's book by Adam Rex, and the story follows an alien race on a search for a planet to hide from a mortal enemy. The leader of the alien race is actually voiced by Steve Martin. The movie was directed by Tim Johnson (Shrek, Over the Hedge) and it was written by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember (Get Smart, Epic). Here is the synopsis:

An overly optimistic, yet inept, alien race named Boov, led by Captain Smek (Martin), invades Earth to hide from their mortal enemy and make it a new home. Convinced they are doing a favor, they begin to relocate the human race. But one resourceful girl named Tip (Rihanna), manages to avoid capture, accompanied by a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons), who has accidentally notified the enemies of his whereabouts.

Enjoy the short!

The casting for Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot continues with four actors up for the role of the villain Doctor Doom. Those actors include Domhnall Gleeson (About Time), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), and Sam Riley (On the Road).

These are all fine young actors, and I seriously think that any one of them would be awesome as this villain. Whoever ends up being cast will join Jamie Bell (The Thing), Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch), Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), and Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic).

The Fantastic Four is set to be released on June 19th, 2015. Of the actors listed above, who would you like to see take on the role of Doctor Doom?

Robot Chicken's Chris McKay Will Direct THE LEGO MOVIE 2

Warner Bros. is moving forward with a sequel to The LEGO Movie, and they've hired a director to bring it to life. I have to say I absolutely love who they will be working with on it. Chris McKay is the guy who will be helming the sequel, and he's a perfect choice as he's one of the main guys behind Adult Swim's hilarious series Robot Chicken. It makes complete sense to me that McKay should be directing this sequel.

The directors of the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will be back as producers on the film. Michelle Morgan and Jared Stern are currently writing the script for the movie. According to Deadline, they are trying to figure out whether this is going to be a straight sequel or a film that broadens the LEGO empire by focusing on the character Ninjago.

I loved The LEGO Movie, and I think that McKay will be able to bring some really awesome elements to the sequel.
