Sony Pictures has released a couple of international TV spots for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I really love how Spider-Man moves around in these films. They managed to work in his iconic poses into this acrobatic spectacle.. The movie comes out on May 2nd.
You have to watch this awesome pitch for a really cool sci-fi film idea called Chrononaut. The video comes from Zach Lipovsky who has also written a feature length script for the film. This has the potential to be something pretty spectacular. The pitch trailer definitely sold me on the idea. Here's the short synopsis that comes along with the video:
A dead mother’s will instructs the estranged father and daughter to spread her ashes in a remote cave. Trapped inside, they find a futuristic safe house and a time machine capable of bringing her back. They must learn to work together to fight threats from their future and escape the cave alive.
I think it would be great to see this project get picked up and developed into a feature film! Thanks to Firstshowing for the heads up on this.
NBC is almost ready to start production of their new series Constantine, which is based on the popular comic book. According to the series writer and producer, David Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel), production on the series starts this week. He also stated that the adaptation is going to follow the comic book more than the movie did and reveals a few other cool things that fans will be happy to hear. While talking to I Am Rouge he said,
"We only have four series regulars but we've cast them all now. I'm proud to say that Constantine is actually being played by a British guy. Matt Ryan and he is going to have blond hair."
John Constantine is a notorious chain smoker, and when asked if he would partake in his old habits on the series, Goyer replied:
"That's a tricky one on network TV. We're negotiating right now. He will have his signature trench coat and skinny tie. I would say that the show clings more closely to the source material than the film did. Even though the film was interesting."
Goyer then revealed that the series would be more in line with the Hellblazer version of the character, and that there are plans of bringing in more DC comics characters into the series if the network picks it up.
"Quite a few other characters from the comic books and possibly from the DC universe, should we move forward, will be showing up.....I think we would try to bring in some of the other occult figures."
The series stars Matt Ryan as Constantine, Lucy Griffiths as Liv, Harold Perrineau as the angel Manny and Charles Halford as Constantine's friend Chas. The pilot is set to be directed by The Descent and Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall. I think we can expect to see some awesomeness from this series.

It was created by Matt McGregor, and if you couldn't tell by the title it mashes together The Wolf of Wall Street with Sesame Street. Cookie Monster will stop at nothing to increase his cookie consumption.
Here are some photos of a set of new stylish illustrated character posters for Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The posters have been spotted around Los Angeles, and I imagine they will be released officially online in the near future. The movie his theaters on April 4th.
I know that whenever you look into a toilet bowl you're thinking to yourself… "Man, I would really love to turn this into a Sarlacc pit!" Well, now you can thanks to this awesome set of decals. The decals even play out the scene in which Boba Fett gets swallowed up by the beast in the Return of the Jedi.
The stickers were created by Robbie Rane, and the idea behind the set was born when one of his friends used the phrase "dropping Boba Fett down the Sarlacc pit," when referring to taking a crap.

Here's the latest promo trailer for Steven Soderbergh's great looking new series The Knick. The series stars Clive Owen, and it looks like it's going to be intense.
Set in downtown New York in 1900, the ten-episode season centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.
The series is set to premiere on Cinemax this summer.

Mondo brought in Phantom City Creative to create the awesome poster you see above for Gareth Edward's amazing looking remake of Godzilla. The poster features the gigantic monster rising out of the smoke of a smoldering city. We've also included a new photo from the film featuring Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody looking at what seems to be a family picture.

Over the weekend actor Chris Pratt, director James Gunn, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did a live 30-minute interview with AMC Theaters to talk about their new movie Guardians of the Galaxy. In the interview they discuss the trailer, the crossover with other Marvel films, the film's tone and post credits sequence, and more. The amazingly fun looking sci-fi adventure film comes out on August 1st! Enjoy the interview!
I'm just going to warn you right off the bat that there are SPOILERS ahead, so if you don't want to know anything about the post credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier then please don't read ahead.
We've been hearing that the end of this sequel is going to forever change the Marvel cinematic universe, and that the post-credits sequence will lead us into Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thanks to BrainFreeze.be we have the details on what we are going to see. In their review of the film they called it the "most serious and dark Marvel film." They also explain what happens before and after the credits roll:

"After the fall of both S.H.I.E.L.D. & HYDRA we see Baron Von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) in his underground lair. Loki’s scepter can be seen here, as well as 2 special prisoners: the “twins”. These are of course Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Quicksilver is bouncing from one end in his cell to another while Scarlet Witch is stacking some building blocks with her mind. Watching them, Von Strucker announces “The Age of Miracles” is upon us. And with that we learn the new name for mutants in the Marvel movieverse."
As for the post-credits scene here's what they say:
"The Winter Soldier is visiting the Captain America exhibit in the Smithsonian museum. Here he finds the information on James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes, his real name. It appears the Winter Soldier now knows who he really was and remembers that Captain America spoke the truth about him."
So, what do you all think of how the movie ends?
Disney has released two new posters for their upcoming fantasy adventure Maleficent. They feature Angelina Jolie as the title character. The poster above is the domestic poster, and the one below is an international French poster, which has a much better design. It incorporates an image of Elle Fanning as Sleeping Beauty along with the three fairies. Jolie looks creepy as hell in this movie, and she's going to be awesome in it.
"Maleficent" explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.
Disney is planning to release the film in 3D on May 30th.
This is one of the most radical pieces of Legend of Zelda fan art that I've seen. It comes from CGHUB artist finkgab, and it features a mix of 3D art and hand made diorama. The artist said that he really admires the look of the films Laika makes such as Coraline and Paranorman, and this piece was inspired by the look of those movies. Now that I see what it could look like, I would love to see Laika create a Legend of Zelda feature film!
This is the second trailer for the Atom Egoyan-directed film The Devil's Knot, which stars Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon. The movie tells the true story Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, who were wrongly convicted for the May 1993 killings of three 8-year-old boys from West Memphis, Ark. 18 years later they were finally released from prison. I've been following their story for years. There have been a series of documentaries made about this terrible tragedy, but a lot more people will hear about it with the release of this movie.
The film also stars Dane DeHaan, Mireille Enos, Bruce Greenwood, Elias Koteas, Stephen Moyer, and Amy Ryan. Here's the detailed synopsis.
Atom Egoyan dramatizes the fallout from the notorious 1993 West Memphis murders, focusing on the grieving mother (Reese Witherspoon) of one of the murdered boys as she grows increasingly troubled by the lynch-mob fever that grips the town.
When three young boys were brutally murdered in the small community of West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1993, their deaths led to shock and outrage in this tightly knit religious town. It wasn’t long before three teenagers were arrested, tried, and sentenced — two of them to life imprisonment and one to death — despite the fact that they all claimed innocence. This story of wrongful conviction roiled the American justice system, brought a number of prominent movie stars and rock musicians to the defence of the three young men, and resulted in a trilogy of documentaries, Paradise Lost, that did much to keep the case in the public eye.
Atom Egoyan has revisited the story of the West Memphis Three and dramatized it for the screen in a film as compelling and disturbing as the truth itself. Egoyan is a master at telling tales about deeply misunderstood outsiders, their families and communities, and their darkest fantasies. In Devil’s Knot Egoyan is completely at home sketching the small-town lives of ordinary people befuddled and angered by the senseless killing in their ostensibly safe town. Reese Witherspoon plays Pam Hobbs, mother of one of the murdered boys, whose grief and shock is palpably felt and subtly depicted. Into her life comes Ron Lax (Colin Firth, also at the Festival in The Railway Man), a private investigator for whom the sum of the case’s parts doesn’t quite add up, and who is driven to get at the truth.
While much of Devil’s Knot focuses on the adults embroiled in the case, Egoyan is also highly sensitive to the young accused, whose lives are shattered by the deaths and who must face the scorn of the town. The three are cast by a series of witnesses as deviant satanic cultists, as all sense of justice and proportion is abandoned in the rush for a convenient scapegoat.
The movie will be released in theaters and on VOD May 9th.
Here's a new clip from Darren Aronofsky's Biblical epic Noah. It comes from Total Film who named the clip "The Ark Knight Rises," and it features Russell Crowe discussing his plan to survive the coming flood apocalypse. The movie comes out on March 28th, and I'll definitely be checking it out!

Sony Pictures Classics has released a new poster and five new photos from the film. They feature several of the characters, all of which get their asses brutally kicked in the film! Nothing I can say about this movie will do it any justice. This is a film you just have to see to believe.
He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen – a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls – rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong.
Formidable though they may have been, Rama’s opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife: He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself and climb through the hierarchy of competing forces until it leads him to the corrupt politicians and police pulling the strings at the top of the heap.
And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a journey that will force him to set aside his own life and history and take on a new identity as the violent offender “Yuda.” In prison he must gain the confidence of Uco – the son of a prominent gang kingpin – to join the gang himself, laying his own life on the line in a desperate all-or-nothing gambit to bring the whole rotten enterprise to an end.

Zach Galifianakis actually landed an interview with President Barack Obam for his Between Two Ferns web series. I wouldn't think the President of the United States would have the time to do anything like this especially with everything going on in the world right now, but he managed to squeeze it in. I'm glad he did though because this has some really funny moments. It was also used as a way for the President to plug healthcare.gov, but it didn't keep the awkward hilarity from happening. I did love the little twist ending they threw in there as well.
Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis: President Barack Obama from President Barack ObamaI seriously don't understand the marketing of Need For Speed. They haven't released one decent poster. This style they are going with doesn't work for me or make me want to see the movie, and I'm a fan of the game! So I don't know what kind of audience they are trying to target. I've already seen the film, but I'm not allowed to really say anything about it yet. I will say though that I'd watch it again though, and that fans of the game should be happy. It comes out on March 14th, and look out for my review a day or two before it's released.
Here's our first look at the full Flash suit that actor Grant Gustin will be wearing in the upcoming new superhero series on The CW.
Surprise! It looks exactly like The Flash would look. The costume was designed by Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who also helped create the look of the Green Arrow for the CW series Arrow.
The director of the pilot episode, David Nutter, had this to say in a statement:
“I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash’s iconic suit."
I'm really curious to see how the character looks when he's running at super speeds, and I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. In the series, scientist Barry Allen (Gustin) has a freak accident that gives him the power of super speed and transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. Allen was first introduced on Arrow, but he won’t make his debut as The Flash until the pilot episode of his solo series, which is currently in production.
Check out this epic piece of Star Wars fan art called "Apprentice." It was created by Simon Goinard and I love the tone and scope of it. The artist says in a note that he really loves the original Star Wars designs, so he wanted to try and emulate that idea.
