Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau Unveil Posters for CHEF

robert-downey-jr-and-jon-favreau-unveil-posters-for-chef.jpg

Iron Man team Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. are back together again in a new movie called Chef. It's always fun listening to these two guys talk, it's just pure entertainment. Below you can watch them as they unveil some limited edition poster art for their new film Chef that they will be showing off at SXSW. Downey Jr. actually designed the posters. They will also be giving away these posters, some of which will be signed.

I'm actually really excited about Chef. It's definitely a smaller film, but that's one of the reason why I'm excited about it. In a recent interview with THR, Favreau talked about the film saying,

"A script hit me, and I wrote it in like two weeks. That was the first time that had happened to me since Swingers. And I’ve been around long enough to know that if you’re lucky enough for the inspiration to hit you, you’ve got to get out of the way and welcome it. It’s a gift. I’m not the type that can just write something from nothing once a year. It has to land on me fully formed. It all clicked."

He went on to compare it to Swingers saying,

"It had the same challenges that Swingers had. It will be an R; we say “f--k” more than once -- but it’s something that I’m comfortable with my kids seeing. Not every beat is being sold for laughs. The beats are about character and emotion -- I never have to push anything further than I want to. When you’re going for a big studio comedy, the joke tally better be pretty high and you better have some big comedy set pieces. That was one of the issues when I was trying to get Swingers made for the first time, which is that there weren’t any broad comedy set pieces. It’s more comedy that comes out of being emotionally attached to the characters."

Make sure to check out the full interview here because it's a good read. The movie is set to be released on May 9th.

3 Great New Teasers for FARGO the TV Series

3-great-new-teasers-for-fargo-the-tv-series

Here are three new great teaser trailers for the upcoming FX series Fargo. The 10-episode series is premieres on April 15th, and it has an amazing cast which includes Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, whose characters are both represented in these new spots.

An original adaptation of the Academy Award-winning feature film, "Fargo" features an all-new "true crime" story and follows a new case and new characters, all entrenched in the trademark humor, murder and "Minnesota nice" that made the film an enduring classic.

Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton stars as Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman Lester Nygaard, played by BAFTA Award winner and Emmy-nominated Martin Freeman. Colin Hanks plays Duluth Police Deputy Gus Grimly, a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer. Allison Tolman also stars as Molly Solverson, an ambitious Bemidji deputy.

It was also recently announced that the comedy duo Key & Peele have joined the series, so that should make things even more interesting. I have high hopes for this series and I'm looking forward to watching it.

I think this is definitely the droid you were looking for. I don't think Disney plans on doing this to R2-D2 in the upcoming Star Wars films, but Deviant Art artist MichaelO couldn't help himself. Here's what he had to say about the piece,

Here's an upgrade I'd like to see in the next Star Wars movie!

I got this idea from a swimsuit I saw online that had a similar design.  I just hope I don't get in trouble with Lucas like they did!

Jack is back and he's ready to kick some more ass to save the world! FOX has released an exciting new trailer for his next great adventure in 24: Live Another Day, and it looks like it's going to be an incredible series. You can't go wrong with 12 episodes of Kiefer Sutherland being a badass.

Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer. Four years ago, Jack was a fugitive from justice. Now an exile, he nevertheless is willing to risk his life and freedom to avert yet another global disaster. Tracking Jack are CIA head Steve Harris (Benjamin Bratt); CIA agent Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), who is both resourceful and ruthless; Jordan Reed (Giles Matthey), a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech; and Erik Ritter (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a sharp, strong and arrogant field operative. Calling the shots is James Heller (William Devane), now President of the United States. Heller is flanked by his Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan), who is married to Heller's daughter -- Jack's former flame, Audrey (Kim Raver). Meanwhile, a hardened Chloe O'Brian (Rajskub), Bauer's CTU confidante, is now working underground with high-profile hacker Adrian Cross (Michael Wincott). Guest stars on 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY include Golden Globe Award winner Judy Davis and Golden Globe Award nominee Stephen Fry.

The series is set to premiere on May 5th on Fox.

Check out this fantastic video that gives us a recreation of the train action sequence in Skyfall in Grand Theft Auto V. It was created by Brass Ballas who says,

We recreated the train fight from the opening of Skyfall. Very hard to get the game to cooperate with filming what we needed, but had a blast doing it.

It definitely turned out great, and it's worth your time to watch it!

Sony's Dark and Gritty ZORRO Reboot Finds a Writer

Sony Pictures is looking to make some more progress on their new Zorro reboot. This version of the story is supposed to be more dark and gritty than previous incarnations. They've hired Chris Boal to write the script for the film. I'm not familiar with his work, but apparently he's a playwright and was a competitive fencer.

According to Deadline "the ambition of the movie is less traditional swashbuckler, and more of a Dark Knight-style unveiling of the character with a new backstory, gritty realism and emotional core. There will be swordplay, combined with the martial arts that came from Europe and created a deadly combination of action and lethal fighting systems that combined swords, daggers, grappling and bare knuckles."

It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing it. They are also trying to get a reboot of Men In Black off the ground.

Boal has been keeping busy with writing scripts. He just adapted a sci-fi novel for Paramount Pictures called Old Man’s War, a Viking film called Vanguard for Warner Bros., Atlas for Alexander Skarsgaard, Caesar for Warner Bros, and a movie called Thunder Road

The Rhino will Only be in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 for 4-Minutes

A lot of fans are concerned with the amount of villains that will be in The Amazing Spider-Man 2  with Electro, Green Goblin, and The Rhino all being featured in the film. You might be happy to hear that just because there are going to be several villains introduced in this movie, not all of them are going to get a ton of screen time. Director Marc Webb talked about the villains at his South by Southwest keynote saying,

"I'm going to embrace the spectacle. There was a moment deep in the [first film's] post-production process where a giant lizard smashed through a wall chasing a boy-man in a unitard and I said, 'This is not grounded. I'm not going to be beholden to smallness. I want it to be fantastic, to be big, to command and express that feeling when you're a kid and reading the comics. ... I didn't want to hide or shy away from that.

We're obviously familiar with the complaints people had We're very careful to make sure the stories intertwine. For Peter Parker, it's very important that you create obstacles that are difficult to overcome."

He then added that The Rhino is, "in the movie for four minutes." This makes sense as we know that the villain will also carry over into the The Amazing Spider-Man 3. It seems like this movie is just going to set up the character along with Black Cat. I'm looking forward to seeing how far they take these villainous characters in the franchise. I doubt they will kill them all off since they plan on making a bunch of stand alone movies.

Is this Our First Look at Ben Affleck's Batman?

The image you see above gives us a look at what Ben Affleck's Batman might look like in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman. There is no indication on if this is real or fan made, but either way it's a great look, and that's definitely Affleck's chin.

The image popped up on the Superhero Hype forum and there's no source on where it came from, but it looks like a photo of an image. I doubt this is actual production art, but there's always a slight chance that it could be. The look is pretty much what I'm expecting to see in the film though, and I'd be happy with the design. It looks very similar to comic artist Jim Lee's Batman design that you can see below.

Disney Princess Impressions by Brizzy Voices

We’ve got 2 videos from Brizzy Voices with impressions of Disney princesses. The voices, while distinct, are subtle and nuanced. The first video is a huge compilation of all Disney princesses up until 2012. The second video is of the most recent addition, Princess Anna from Frozen. While Bizzy admits the singing is a bit rough, the improvement in her voice skills from 2012 to now might merit a reshoot of the compilation video.

Make sure to check out our previous post of her “Women of DC's Animated Universe Voice Impressions.”

First Look at Dane DeHaan as James Dean in LIFE

EW

Above is the first photo of Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Dane DeHaan as James Dean in the movie Life. The movie also stars Robert Pattinson as Life magazine photographer Dennis Stock.

The story is set in 1955 and follows Stock as he convinces a young James Dean to take a road trip from Los Angeles to New York to Dean’s hometown of Fairmont, Indiana, so that he can photograph the actor in the environments that the photographer says “affected and shaped the unique character” of Dean. It was on this trip that Stock shot Dean’s famous Times Square photo.

The film is being directed by Dutch Anton Corbijn, and this is what he had to say in a statement,

“Rob has an intensity that I think Dennis would have. When I see Rob, I see an inner turmoil that is great for the role, and Dane is really interesting. He has a beautiful face, but it’s a hard face to grasp. It’s hard to see how Dane reads sometimes, and the same thing goes for James Dean.”

The movie has a couple of great actors. This could be a solid film.

Hot Toys Teases CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Figure

Hot Toys has released a couple of photos teasing the 1/6 scale figure of Captain America wearing the “Golden Age” suit from the higly anticipated Marvel film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The photos come with the following note,

"Here is a sneak peek of Captain America in his “Golden Age” suit which he will wear in an epic showdown with the Winter Soldier! This collectible figure will be launched during our exhibition period, please continue to stay tuned on our Facebook Page for more details soon!"

We've already seen a glimpse of that fight between Cap and Winter Soldier in the trailers. It's interesting that Cap puts on his old WWII suit in the sequel, but I'm really happy that they bring it back because it's such an awesome (albeit slightly altered from the first film) costume design.

We've got a new promo trailer and sneak peek at the next episode of AMC's The Walking Dead. The episode is called "The Grove," which comes with the following short plot summary,

After establishing a new shelter, the group considers things returning to the way they used to be.

Producer Gale Anne Hurd recently said that a new evil would be coming in the second half of the series. There are no details on what that might be, but I guess it could be another ass-face like The Governor or some kind of completely new threat. I've also included two behind-the-scenes videos for last night's episode "Alone."
