Custom-Made GAME OF THRONES Woodcut Action Figures

This series of custom-made, Game of Thrones woodcut action figures comes from artist Mick Minogue. All of the characters represented here are battered and beaten. The series is part of the ' Winter Is Coming', A Song of Fire and Ice art show at the Ltd. Gallery, in Seattle. This is what the artist had to say about his creation,

"When making work for the show we were asked not to make any reference to the HBO game of Thrones show. We could only take our influence from the series of books. This was a great idea for the artists to go deep into their imaginations and not work off likeness of or create homages to the actors involved in the TV series.

I have wanted to make a little collection of figures based on the series for a long time. This seemed like the perfect opportunity so I created 8 action figures all based around a 'Battle Damage' theme. I picked 8 characters who have been battered bruised or have some iconic scaring for their troubles. It was very hard to cap it at 8 as there was so many to choose from. Who knows I might just keep making more.

Each figure is a one of a kind hand painted woodcut."

I love the bloody violent nature of these adorable designs.

With only a few more days until its released, Warner Bros. has released another featurette for 300: Rise of an Empire. This one focuses on the heroes of the story, specifically Themistocles played by Sullivan Stapleton. It's loaded with more cool new footage from the movie along with interviews with the cast and crew talking about the new army of heroes.

Warner Bros. has found the pre-teen Bruce Wayne for their new Batman inspired series, Gotham. The role went to David Mazouz from the TV series Touch, which starred Kiefer Sutherland.

Variety gave a description of the character, saying that he's a "boy who leans on his butler Alfred and Commissioner James Gordon for guidance after his wealthy parents are murdered." Just a reminder, Mazouz will not become Batman in the series. That's something that won't happen until later down the line.

They've also cast Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, described as "a teenage orphan and street thief who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable." As you all know, she eventually grows up to be Catwoman.

The series focuses on a young Jim Gordon and his adventures in law enforcement as he witnesses the rise of Gotham's villains whom Batman will later encounter.

The series stars Ben McKenzie as Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a the Penguin, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.

MARIO SEINFELD Parody - Mario Bros. as Seinfeld Cast

“What's the deal with goombas?”

It seems like the Mario Bros. rarely have a chance to do any plumbing, let alone sit around the house and talk. They’re always off on some adventure. But place them in the Seinfeld apartment and rescuing the Princess takes a backseat to conversations about… well, nothing. In this parody video by EsquirebobAnimations, characters from Super Mario Bros. are perfectly placed as the cast from Seinfeld. I would have loved to see some more gags from the world of Super Mario, but I’ll settle for Toad Costanza and Luigi Kramer.

Michael Bay has released a new tease for his upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction. It's just a simple title sequence, but I know a lot of you are excited about the film so I thought I'd share it. A new trailer for the film is going to be released soon, so stay tuned for that. Hopefully it's a lot more exciting than this! The movie hits theaters on June 27th, 2014!

Marvel has released a new deleted scene from Thor: The Dark World featuring the God of Thunder fighting some Asgardian soldiers. He lays his hammer down first, though, so no one dies. It's actually a pretty fun scene to watch. I guess they just needed to cut it for time. Thor: The Dark World is currently available on Blu-ray and DVD. If you haven't yet, go pick up a copy!

Amazing Animated Fantasy Western Short - SOLSTICE

We've got another great animated short film for you to watch today. This is a fantasy western called "Solstice," and it was created by Lynn Wang and Ed Skudder. They made it in their free time over the course of 2-3 months, and it turned out amazingly well. The animation is absolutely beautiful, and I would love to see more! This thing gave me goosebumps, and it should seriously be adapted into a feature-length movie. It is an incredible tease to something bigger and better. Here is a note from the creators.

We both split the work 50/50 from background painting to rough animation to clean up and everything between, however Ed did the music and compositing and Lynn headed up the design. As of right now, this short is it, but hopefully one day we can expand on the world!

I really hope they do expand on this world. Enjoy the short!

TRUE DETECTIVE Is the Second Highest Rated Television Show on IMDB

Let me be one voice among many telling you that if you aren't watching True Detective, you are missing out! The tension, drama, and mystery make it by far one of the best shows on television and have already earned it the spot of the second highest rated television show on IMDB! If you were curious, the top spot is currently held by Breaking Bad . Other notable shows include Game of Thrones at number four, Sherlock at six, and Firefly at ten. Of course, the shows with fewer episodes have an advantage, but in the case of True Detective just take my word for that it is the best thing on television (and Netflix) right now! I can't wait to see how this season with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey plays out!

The Hoverboard from BACK TO THE FUTURE II Has Arrived!

Ever since the Hoverboard appeared on screen in Back to the Future Part II, kids around the world have wanted one! I remember when I first saw the movie I thought it was a real thing. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It was all just moviemaking magic. That magic continues in a fun video promoting the "real" Hoverboard. Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd introduces the board and pro skater Tony Hawk and several other celebrities try it out.

The video comes from a company which claims to have made one, called HUVr. The company's website says “Our team consists of materials science, electricity & magnetism experts who’ve solved an important part of one of science’s mysteries: the key to antigravity.”

If I created an antigravity device, I know the first thing I would do is build a Hoverboard! I just want to make sure you understand that this isn't real, because, hilariously, some people think it is. Thanks to /Film for the heads up on the video.

Justice League Inspired Red Bull Cans

These Justice League-inspired Red Bull cans don't actually exist, but maybe one day they will. They definitely look awesome! The designs were created by Diego Fonseca, a New York-based art director, and he calls the concept "The Red Bull Superheroes Project."

"The Red Bull Superheroes Project depicts a playful union between the Austrian energy drink and the Justice League universe…. Inspired by the uniforms of his favorite superheroes from various ages of the comic books."

If Red Bull actually took this idea and ran with it I bet their sales would take a huge jump. I'd probably even start drinking Red Bull again! Can designs sell.

Two Character Posters for TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION

We've got two new character posters for Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction. I guess the studio is getting all the boring human characters out of the way before they start releasing the robot posters. At least Nicola Peltz is hot. Unfortunately, she just looks pissed off. She plays Tessa Yeager in the film and her character is described as the "not-so-innocent girl-next door." For all you ladies looking for a little eye candy, maybe you think Jack Reynor is attractive? He plays Shane in the film, and his character is described as a "classically handsome bad-boy-with-boyfriend-potential." If that doesn't do it for you, you can always click here to see Mark Wahlberg's poster. The movie is set to be released on June 27th. Stay tuned for more posters that are leading up to a new trailer for the film.

METASTASIS Trailer - Latin American Remake of BREAKING BAD

For those who still miss the high tension and drama of Breaking Bad, you can now experience it all over again with the Latin remake Metastasis! After a diagnosis of lung Cancer, Columbian chemistry teacher Walter Blanco teams up with an old student, Jose, to cook Crystal Meth so that his family will have money when he's gone. Even taking the original titles from the show, this video leads us to believe Metastasis is a shot for shot remake of the original show, not that it should be any other way.

STREET FIGHTER Red Tape - Vega, You Cheater!

“This is a hand-to-hand tournament, not a hand-to-claw tournament!”

The Pete Holmes Show is back with another installment of "Street Fighter Red Tape." The first video featured Ryu attempting to transcribe his battle cries. This new video stars Thomas Middleditch as the Spanish fighter Vega, who is requesting to use his claw and mask in the Street Fighter tournament.

I think Middleditch is an awesome actor, but this is the third video he’s done for the show — he played both Gambit and Nightcrawler in the "Ex-Men" sketches. When they had Mark-Paul Gosselaar portray Ryu for the first video in the series, I assumed they’d be reaching out to more guest stars to play these characters. Middleditch does a fantastic job nevertheless, and the outtakes (which I’ve also included below) are just as funny as the actual skit.

Well Michael Bay, it looks like you've persuaded me into going to see your new Transformers movie. Paramount Pictures released this new teaser trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction, and I'll admit… it looks pretty freakin' awesome.  I honestly didn't think that I would ever be excited for another Transformers movie, but I was wrong. The movie comes out on July 27th, and I think that fans are really going to love what they are about to see.

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION - Optimus Prime Posters

Yesterday an incredibly cool teaser trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction was released, and if for some reason you haven't seen it yet, you should watch it now. Michael Bay has now released a character poster for Optimus Prime that you can see above. There is also a viral poster that you can see below that tells us "Transformers Are Dangerous."

The viral poster was part of the trailer. At the beginning of the trailer there's a billboard saying “Remember Chicago,” which is a reference to the insane destruction we saw in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The billboard features a phone number, and that number leads to the website www.transformersaredangerous.com, which takes us to the Transformers viral poster you see below.

First Look at HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3

first-look-at-human-centipede-3

This Human Centipede franchise just isn't my thing, but above is our first look at Human Centipede 3. There are no Human Centipedes present, but don't let it fool you. Apparently the movie will feature the longest Human Centipede yet, consisting of 500 people, and it will not include CG effects. It will literally be 500 poor extras with their faces locked in to other people's asses.

The photo features the star of the original film, Dieter Laser, walking through a room of caged prisoners. The star of the second film, Laurence R. Harvey, is also set to reprise his role in the third movie as well.

Tom Six is back to direct the movie, and this is what he had to say about it in an interview with EW:

“THC Part 3 will be totally different from Parts 1 and 2 and certainly not as gross. But it will be the most controversial one politically-wise. It will have a lot of self-mockery and will be the most darkly comical of the three. Parts 1 and 2 have a very European feel. Part 3 is very American with the highest budget, a big movie score, widescreen, and an XXL human centipede. It’s set in an American maximum security prison in the middle of the desert. Plot-wise I won’t share details yet but if you let your imagination run wild you might get ideas.”

He goes on to talk about Eric Roberts, who plays the Governor in the story, saying,

“Eric plays an a–hole governor. He is a great, underrated actor with a delicious, worn, malicious face. He was perfect for the part and a real gentleman. I love working with American actors and can’t wait to work with more famous American actors — if they have the b—s to work with me because some are scared to work with a sick European ‘horror’ film maker. I make ‘horrific’ movies, that’s true — but I don’t consider them as standard horror films. I think the genre with mostly masked killers or creepy ghosts on a killing spree is pretty boring and stupid.”

I still haven't been able to bring myself to watch Human Centipede 2. I'm sure one day I'll see it, along with the upcoming sequel. But today is not that day.

Four New Teasers for FX's FARGO TV Series

FX has released four new teasers for its upcoming 10-episode limited series, Fargo, which is set to premiere on April 15th. This is sure to be a fantastic series, and it has an incredible cast of actors to bring these characters to life.

An original adaptation of the Academy Award-winning feature film, "Fargo" features an all-new "true crime" story and follows a new case and new characters, all entrenched in the trademark humor, murder and "Minnesota nice" that made the film an enduring classic.

Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton stars as Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman Lester Nygaard, played by BAFTA Award winner and Emmy-nominated Martin Freeman. Colin Hanks plays Duluth Police Deputy Gus Grimly, a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer. Allison Tolman also stars as Molly Solverson, an ambitious Bemidji deputy.

Rounding out "Fargo's" colorful cast of recurring characters will be Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk as Deputy Bill Oswalt, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated Oliver Platt as Stavros Milos, Screen Actors Guild Award winner Kate Walsh as Gina Hess, Glenn Howerton as Don Chumph, Joey King as Greta Grimly, Peter Breitmayer as Lieutenant Schmidt, Tom Musgrave as Bo Munk, Josh Close as Chazz Nygaard, Russell Harvard as Mr. Wrench and Adam Goldberg as Mr. Numbers.

I've enjoyed these fun, short teasers, and as a fan of the film I'm excited to watch this series.
