Shot-for-Shot Recreation of Scene from HOOK with the Original Rufio

0
0

Cinefix’s homemade recreations of famous movie scenes have been getting more and more creative. Their latest “sweded” scene was made with a special ingredient that makes it all the more delectable… the actual actor from the original movie! Rufio himself, Dante Basco, reprises his role in this tribute to Steven Spielberg’s Hook. It’s amazing that Basco has “still got the moves” over two decades later. I think he’s been spending some time in Neverland… or he’s just Filipino, one of the two.

Be sure to also check out the side-by-side comparison and behind the scenes videos below. Thanks to io9!

Warner Bros. has released six testosterone fueled film clips from their upcoming action film 300: Rise of an Empire. All of them feature Eva Green's badass villain character Artemisia. She looks awesome in this movie! The film is set to be released on March 7th, and I'll be at the theater to watch it opening day!

Trailer for the Horror Film DARK HOUSE with Tobin Bell

Here's a trailer for a new horror thriller coming out called Dark House. It stars Tobin Bell (Saw) and it was directed Victor Salva. The director has made some decent film in his career such as Jeepers Creepers, Clownhouse, and even the movie Powder. I liked the Jeepers Creepers films, but this new film doesn't look like it lives up to his past work. I enjoy watching all kinds of horror films, so I'll definitely give the movie a chance though.

The story is described as "a thrilling and horrifying road trip, full of twists and brutal surprises; a suspenseful thriller about a young man and a chilling old house that has survived decades, awaiting the return of its prodigal son... a house that can escalate Nick's gift to see death before it happens, but holds within its walls the origins of a dark family legacy so horrible it may have already reached out to Nick's unborn child."

The movie is set to get a limited theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles on March 14th. Thanks to STYD for the heads up.

"Godzilla is awesome. Except when he's hungry."

Snickers is taking advantage of all the Godzilla hype, and they've developed a commercial featuring the creature that portrays him as just one of the boys. In the commercial we see him playing ping pong, water skiing, and riding an ATV in the desert. It's a pretty fun commercial so I hope you enjoy it.

Official Full Trailer for THE DOUBLE with Jesse Eisenberg

official-full-trailer-for-the-double-with-jesse-eisenberg.jpg

We've already seen a few trailers for Jesse Eisenberg's The Double already, but this is the full theatrical trailer for the Richard Ayoade-directed film. It's based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Eisenberg plays a man who is driven into madness by the sudden appearance of his doppelganger who starts to take over his life. It was recently shown at Sundance, and there was a good amount of positive buzz for the movie. It definitely looks like a movie that would be worth checking out.

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon's exact physical double and his opposite — confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon's horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

The movie is scheduled to be released in the UK on April 4th and in the US on May 9th.

Here's a series of Saul Bass inspired poster art for eight of the nine movie nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards this year. The one movie that is missing from the set is American Hustle. The illustrations are based on already existing posters that Bass created in his career. For example, The Wolf of Wall Street is in the same style of his West Side Story poster. These posters were done by Geminianum and you can click here to see the Bass movie posters that they were inspired by.

Disney has released seven new high resolution photos from Maleficent, which is the live action retelling on Sleeping Beauty. This time the story is told through the eyes of the villain.

Maleficent is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

The movie will be released in theaters May 30th, 2014.

o-ELISA-LAM-facebook.jpg

Sony Pictures is set to develop a new horror film project called The Bringing. The story is based on true events, and it "follows a private investigator who is hired to investigate a mysterious murder at a downtown Los Angeles hotel, uncovering its dark supernatural history. The style of the film is described as in the same vein as The Shining and The Conjuring."

The spec is based on the story of Elisa Lam, "the woman found dead in a water tank at the Cecil Hotel. Her strange behavior was captured in elevator cameras ahead of her death." You can watch that video below if you want. For more information on her and the history of the hotel click here.

The studio picked up the spec script from Brandon and Phillip Murphy. Apparently there were a lot of studios and producers interested in the project. Sony acquired the rights to it for $300,000 against $700,000.

Anyway, here's a little tease from the upcoming new trailer for Transformers: Age Of Extinction that will debut on ET this coming Tuesday. I'm sure it will be released online shortly after, without the annoying voice over jerk-offs. The movie is set to be released on June 27th, 2014.

The marketing campaign for Warner Bros. 300: Rise of the Empire pushes forward with a new extended TV spot that has even more new footage. Last week the studio released a really cool behind the scenes villain featurette and six film clips. The Noam Murro-directed film is set to be released later this week on March 7th, and I'm pretty sure it's going to kick some major ass.

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Costume Designer Teases Wonder Woman's Look

Rumor has it that the Batman and Wonder Woman character and costume designs will be revealed later this month. While we wait to see if that actually happens Batman vs. Superman costume designer Michael Wilkinson teases Wonder Woman's look in a new interview with The Wrap. When asked about working on Wonder Woman's outfit he called it a "thrilling and slightly scary prospect," and said:

"It's so important to get her right. She really deserves to be presented on-screen in her full glory. So what I do is I look at the history of how the character has been presented on the big-screen, and the small-screen, and in comic books, and graphic novels. We process it all. Then we kind of put that aside and work out what is right for our film, for the cinematic universe that our director Zack Snyder is putting together. We try and create a Wonder Woman that's relevant for today's audiences."

He's then asked if he thought it would be realistic for her to be fighting crime in her outfit. Here's his reply:

"Absolutely! I mean, you just have to look at the gladiators from ancient Rome, they did their thing in little loin clothes and shield....It works for Thor, it works for 300, so let's see what happens."

I'm really curious to see what exactly they've come up with for her costume. If they plan on presenting the character in her "full glory" then I imagine it will be what fans of Wonder Woman will want to see.

David S. Goyer wrote the screenplay and Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman as he goes up against Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The movie also stars esse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

The Zack Snyder-directed film is set to open on May 6th, 2016.

The illustrations were done by CGHUB artist NME, and he's completed the set with the additions of Broadway and Brooklyn. To see Goliath, Hudson and Lexington click here. I'm still holding out for hope that we'll eventually see a live action movie!

Arnold Schwarzenegger Talks About TERMINATOR: GENESIS

arnold-schwarzenegger-talks-about-terminator-genesis

Terminator: Genesis is set to start production this April with Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) directing. The film's star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, hasn't really had much to say about it, but in a recent interview with The Arnold Fans he talks about the film and says that the script is fantastic.

"We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I'm really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn't be in that movie but now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film…..The script is fantastic so I'm really looking forward to this film."

Like all of you, I'm a huge fan of the first two Terminator movies. The other films don't even come close to the awesomeness of those first two. I really hope that this next trilogy ends up kicking ass and surprising fans. Terminator: Genesis will be the first film in a new trilogy that will also star Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, and Jai Courtney. It's set to be released in theaters on July 1st, 2015.

Chris Evans on Playing Captain America and Taking a Break

Chris Evans was the perfect choice to play Captain America for Marvel. It has been awesome to see him as this character, and it will be interesting to see what happens when his contract is up with Marvel. I hope he renews it, but if he doesn't, the studio may have to find someone else to wield the shield. In a recent interview with British Glamour, Evans says he is going to take a break from acting:

"I think when I'm done with this Marvel contract, I'll take a little break from acting, with acting, you're one piece in a very big puzzle. It's like you helped buy a gift but you don't know what the gift is, so you come back and see the movie. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's tragic. This process [directing], you're involved in every single decision. If I hadn't done it, I'd be really kicking myself. At the time, it was a daunting task for a number of reasons, but in hindsight it was the right move."

Hopefully when he's done with his break he will come back for some more Captain America adventures. I think we'd all understand if he didn't, but I really hope he does. He goes on to talk about his character in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Solider:

"He doesn't have demons. He's not Batman, he doesn't struggle with inner turmoil. The nature of this character is that he puts himself last and helps the common good. So he could easily slip into a world of boredom, The blessing and curse of Captain America is that he doesn't have that fancy an ability. He doesn't live in another world, or turn green. He doesn't have bells and whistles, he doesn't shoot missiles. He punches and kicks."

Captain America: The Winter Solider comes out on April 4th, and it looks like it's going to be one of the best films that Marvel has made so far. I'm so ridiculously excited for it I can hardly contain myself.

Edward Penishands, Doctor Screw, Pirates: the amount of parody pornography of real films is limitless. Most the time, however, these movies do very little to stay true to the plot. The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody has legitimate costumes, some of the real dialogue, and actual character development! This completely safe for work trailer shows you all you need to know about "The Dude" and why he is "The Biggest Lebowski." Prepare to laugh, because things get pretty hilarious.
