Marvel has released a character poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier featuring the Falcon, who is played by Anthony Mackie. I really like what they've done with this character. I was never a big fan of his in the comics, but they gave him a really cool design for the film, and it looks like he'll have a much bigger role in the Marvel cinematic universe as a whole. Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released on April 4th!

Holy shit… this new trailer for Godzilla is awesome! This thing gave me goosebumps. I never would have imagined that another Godzilla movie would look so freakin' incredible. I'm seriously in awe right now. Director Gareth Edwards is going to deliver a Godzilla that even the hardcore fans should appreciate and enjoy.

An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranston. The movie hits theaters on May 16th, 2014!

Can you imagine if Full House had been more like House of Cards? Of course you can't, but this video gives us a glimpse at the horror that could have been. The look on Bob Saget's face while the music is under him is enough to make me call my family and tell them I love them. A very funny and relevant video by Adam Holt.

Karl Urban Confirms DREDD 2 Conversations

2012's Dredd 3D was a pretty badass movie, and even though it didn't do very well at the box office, it did do pretty well with DVD and Blu-ray sales and found a decent sized audience. Fans like me were excited about the possibility of a sequel. Unfortunately, it didn't look like it was going to happen. Now the film's star, Karl Urban, says there's a chance!

While attending a Star Trek convention in Germany, Urban said that there have been conversations with screenwriter Alex Garland and Lionsgate about bringing a second chapter to life on the big screen.

I was really hoping we would see a sequel to Dredd, but over time I just gave up on it. That hope is now reignited, and it would be so amazing if a sequel actually happened.

Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Bring Smaug to Life in THE HOBBIT

When The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released April 8th on Blu-ray and DVD, you can bet your ass it's going to be packed full of behind the scenes goodies for fans to watch.

Today we bring you a new featurette that shows the process of bringing the Dragon Smaug to life, and there's also a little bit of footage of Benedict Cumberbatch in a mo-cap suit doing some physical performance work for Smaug.

If you want to know just how big Smaug is, one of the dragon's creators explains that he’s twice the size of a jumbo jet. That's pretty damn impressive. David Clayton of Weta Digital also explained,

"Using our motion capture stage, we recorded [Cumberbatch's] performances, which focused on the conversation with Bilbo sequence. Having Benedict in a mocap suit was lots of fun — for us, and hopefully for him too — and seemed to help get him immersed and hone in on the character. The translation of performance from Benedict to Smaug wasn’t a one-to-one match like you’d get from a humanoid creature. They have very different physiologies. As animators we had to transpose the elements of Benedict’s performance that were critical to the shot, such as head nuances and facial expressions. We then built up the majority of his motion with keyframe animation (meaning that it was animated by hand)."

Smaug is one of the coolest looking dragons I've ever seen brought to life on the big screen, and I couldn't be happier with how he turned out. Thanks to THR for the video.

Johnny Utah Character Cast in POINT BREAK Remake

In the original Point Break movie, Keanu Reeves played a character named Johnny Utah. Alcon Entertainment has announced that they've cast that role in their remake, and it went to Luke Bracey. That name isn't familiar at all, but he played Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, so you wouldn't recognize him anyway because you never saw his face.

He will star alongside Gerard Butler, who was already cast in the role of Bodhi. The film is being directed by Invincible‘s Ericson Core from a script written by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Total Recall).

It was previously reported that the remake is "set in the international world of extreme sports as opposed to the Southern California surf scene of the original. The plot of an FBI agent infiltrating a crime ring as well as the names of the principal characters remain the same."

Butler's character is described as "an expert extreme-sports athlete who seeks nirvana through the conquest of a series of athletic feats such as surfing 100-foot waves. He saves Johnny Utah, the undercover FBI agent, and brings him into the fold of international criminals."

The original film had a certain charm that people love, and it's something I seriously doubt they will be able to replicate with the sequel. I'm not expecting much from it, but I'm sure there's an audience out there that is going to be excited for this thing.

Creepy, Cool GHOSTBUSTERS II Creature Concept Art

Ghostbusters is one of my favorite films of all time. The sequel was also a lot of fun, but not as good as the first film. There has been a lot of Ghostbusters stuff popping up online since the passing of the franchise's star and co-writer Harold Ramis. One of the coolest things I've come across is this set of ghost and creature concept art that was created by William Forche for Ghostbusters II. I've never seen any of this stuff before, so I figured maybe you haven't either. I hope you enjoy it!

Disney has released a new UK trailer for Muppets Most Wanted. It was directed by James Bobin and stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey, along with cameos by Tom Hiddleston, Christoph Waltz, Jason Schwartzman, Sean Combs, and Ray Liotta. It looks like a movie that Muppet fans should enjoy, and this new trailer has some fun new footage.

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.

The movie hits the big screen March 21st, 2014.

We have a great short film for you to watch today called "Timeholes." "In the year 2015 time travel has been invented, and like all new technologies it is abused by everyone."

The film was directed by Ben Mallaby, and it is executed perfectly. It's a really fun concept that I could see making a very funny feature film.

Fox has released a couple new photos from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. We've got one of James McAvoy as Charles Xavier visiting Cerebro and another featuring Halle Berry as Storm. I think it's really interesting that McAvoy's Xavier is standing around and walking a lot. I've also included a promo image featuring several characters, including Wolverine. The movie will be released on May 23rd.

Marc Webb Returning to Direct THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3

It shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that Marc Webb, the director of the first two Amazing Spider-Man movies, will be back to direct the third. The film is current being written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner.

So far I'm completely satisfied with what Webb has done with this franchise, and it's great that he's still going to be at the helm bringing us awesome Spider-Man stories and characters.

Andrew Garfield and Paul Giamatti are both set to reprise their roles in a third movie. We don't know who else will return, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see who's still standing at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is set to be released on June 10th, 2016. Sony Pictures has a fourth film planned that will be released on May 4th, 2018, and they also are planning some villain spin-off movies that will include Venom.

As a huge fan of Jon Favreau's earlier indie films such as Swingers and Made, I can't help but be very excited about his next movie, Chef. After directing big budget films like Iron Man and Cowboys Vs. Aliens, it's cool to see Favreau go back to his roots and make a fun indie film again.

The movie has an amazing cast that also includes Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, and Robert Downey Jr. Here's the synopsis:

When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out what’s next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son (Emjay Anthony) to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen — and zest for life and love.

It's set to kick off the South by Southwest Film Festival in March, and I wish I could be there to see it. It will be released in theaters on May 9th, though!

The posters are each inscribed with “valar morghulis,” which means “all men must die” in the High Valyrian language. There's also a teaser trailer that features Tyrion locked away, and he looks both pissed off and a little afraid. You can watch that by clicking here.

Check out this powerful artwork by Jeff Carlisle that is pretty open to interpretation. While a lot of people on the web think this is Vader being attacked by zombies, I prefer to think this is Anakin remembering all the friends he has killed or seen killed. It's really awesome artwork, and I would love to see more haunted Vader pieces.

GHOSTBUSTERS III Is Still Moving Forward

ghostbusters-36.jpg

If you were wondering what would happen with Ghostbusters III after the the passing of Harold Ramis, you may or may not be happy to hear that the the project is not dead. Sony Pictures plans on moving forward with it, they will just have to rework the current script which was written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. So there's no Bill Murray and no Harold Ramis… I seriously don't see the point in even making the movie at this point.

According to THR, director Ivan Reitman is scheduled to meet with the Sony production team in the next couple of days to assess how to move forward on the project that is in active development.

The site goes on to say that Ramis "was involved in Ghostbusters III only minimally." He also held "a first-dollar gross stake in the third film along with Reitman, Aykroyd and Murray -- a position that will revert to his estate." As of right now, no one has even signed anything, but apparently the principals would take break-even cuts in order to get the film off the ground.

I really hope they have an incredibly amazing script, because it has to be if they are actually going to make this movie.
