Top 10 Movie Quotes from ROBOCOP

$

0

RoboCop has been such a badass franchise, and we all loved watching the original films back in the day. We’re all huge fans of RoboCop, and right now the focus is all about his return! The new RoboCop looks like it will be an incredibly entertaining movie, and José Padilha was a solid choice as a director to bring it to life. The casting for the film is nothing short of fantastic, with Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, and more.

In anticipation of the release of the movie we've come up with a list of our Top 10 favorite quotes from the RoboCop franchise. Check out the quotes we've come up with below, and make sure to go out and see the movie on February 12th!

1. "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!"

2. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

3. "Your move, creep."

4. "Come quietly or there will be… trouble."

5. "Your client's a scumbag, you're a scumbag, and scumbags see the judge on Monday morning. Now get out of my office, and take laughing boy with you!"

6. "My friends call me Murphy. You call me... Robocop."

7. "Excuse me, I have to go. Somewhere there is a crime happening."

8. "Old Detroit has a cancer. That cancer is crime."

9. "Bad language makes for bad feelings."

10. "These days, neighborhoods just seem to be the sort of places where bad things happen. Don't be nostalgic."

Pogo is back again with another song created from nothing but sounds from films, and this time he did Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory! All of the sounds – minus the drum track – are lifted directly from the film and blended together to make a song, which has to take a lot of work. Watch it below and be sure to check out his page if you're new to his work!

James Marsden and Jack Black Join THE D-TRAIN

James Marsden and Jack Black are teaming up for a new comedy called The D-Train. It's always good to see Marsden getting cast in movies, as the guy is awesome. Black, on the other hand, I could do without, but maybe he and Marsden will make a good team.

The story centers on "a Middle American high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes to get the most popular guy from high school -- now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) -- to show up to their 20-year reunion, including flying to Los Angeles to penetrate the world of celebrities."

This sounds like it could be a fun movie. I could see some comedy coming out of these types of characters and the reunion setting. The film will be the directorial debut of Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, the writers of the 2008 Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man. The producer of the film, Mike White, will also have a role, and Nat Faxon is in negotiations to join the cast as well.

LIGHTNING RETURNS: Getting Started in Nova Chrysalia

Battle 16.jpg

The most important thing in Lightning Returns is time management, and since you start the game with only a portion of the remaining 13 days, you will need to make the most of the time you have. Here are some tips to get you started in the right direction.

Sell Your Medals

Currency doesn't come quickly in Lightning Returns, at least not until I realized that all those medals you pick up along the way are worth a decent amount of change. You really don’t need them for any quests that I encountered, so sell those bad boys early and often so you can afford some of the better schema and gear.

Always Be Punctual

Being punctual is a necessity. It can be aggravating sometimes, especially when en route to wrapping up a quest, to teleport somewhere else. Ultimately, though, you should stop what you are doing and tackle the time specific missions first. If you miss them you will have to wait a whole other day, and that can really hurt you in the long run.

Don't Be Afraid To Meddle

Don’t be afraid to mess everything up. Experiment, have fun swapping out powers and gear, merging abilities or starting over and building from scratch. You can get some pretty effective and admittedly unique mashups this way. If you’re hitting a dead end it might be because you don’t have the best schema for the job.

Tackle The First 75% Of The Wildlands Early

The Wildlands are home to some very rewarding quests, and you'll find lots of great items and gear there too. Its a great place to knock out some easy quests on Chocolina’s Prayer Board, and it's also home to a very important set of missions for one of the Final Fantasy XIII fan favorites, or as JDot calls him, Chocofro. So spend some decent time here early, and you’ll be getting a good head start.

Remember To Use Your EP

EP allows you to use a pretty sweet collection of abilities, including Curaga, Arise, Teleport, and of course Escape. It also lets you use Overclock during combat. Overclock is extremely useful, as it slows time down during combat and allows you to use your abilities ad nauseam for as long as the ability lasts. Teleporting will consume 3 EP, but is invaluable in getting to and from quickly, especially when up against a tight deadline.

Do Not Escape

If at all possible, do not use the escape option (also under EP). It gets you out of a battle unscathed and with all items intact, but it costs you an hour of time, and in this game a few escapes add up to half a day wasted.

Have Multiple Saves

This saved me numerous times. You go to a world to complete a quest, but it turns out you can’t get in till 5 hours from now, and instead of wasting EP to teleport, or getting to the train and taking it to a place that is nowhere near your quest of choice, it's better to just reload a save before you started. It will save you precious time.

Pick Up Everything You See

Completing quests is crucial to expanding the amount of days you have available, as you only start with a portion of the 13. Even if you don’t know what it’s for, pick it up. Normally enemies won’t catch up to you when picking up items, even if on high alert and chasing you. You will need it for some quest down the line.

Don’t Wait To Leave Luxerion

You start the game in Luxerion, and in most RPGs, that would be your starting area for the first portion of the game, with the story slowly but surely taking you to each location once you’re done there and so on. That’s not how it works here, and you’ll be doing yourself a disservice by staying here waiting for the game to take you outside of its walls. Explore early and often, and feel free to stop by the other 3 locations at will. You’ll expand your quests, and you’ll get some great gear that will help you in Luxerion later on when taking on the Shadow Hunter.

This is a teaser trailer for the Terrence Malick-produced film The Better Angles, which follows the life of a young Abraham Lincoln. The film was written and directed by A.J. Edwards, and the cast includes Jason Clarke, Diane Kruger, Brit Marling, Wes Bentley, and Braydon Denney. Edwards has worked with Malick on films such as The Tree of Life and To the Wonder, and you can see the influence of those in the trailer for this movie.

Indiana, 1817. The entire nation, only 40 years old and a few years removed from a second war of independence, is still raw. Men and women must battle against nature and disease to survive in log cabins. This is young Abraham Lincoln’s world. Spanning three years of the future president’s childhood, The Better Angels explores his family, the hardships that shaped him, the tragedy that marked him forever, and the two women who guided him to immortality.

Thanks to ScreenDaily for the embed. The movie doesn't have a distribution deal yet, so there's no release date.

I've got a really cool, insane animated music video for you to check today for DJ and producer RipTide. The name of the song is called "In The Middle of the Nite," and the video was created by Amsterdam-based illustrator Stefan Glerum and animation studio Crooked Line. Here's the brief description that came along with the video,

Come along for a night out with a group of clandestine street racers in this explosive music video...

The video is NSFW due to some nudity, and near the end things take a turn for the weird. The animation is great, and it's definitely entertaining, so I hope you enjoy it.

THE DARK TOWER Movie Update - No Casting Set

I really wish it wasn't taking so damn long for Stephen King's The Dark Tower to get to the big screen. I love that story, and I love the plan that Ron Howard, Akiva Goldsman, and Brian Grazer came up with to bring it to life. There was supposed to be a trilogy of films and a TV series in between each film to tell as much of the story as they possibly can. Now it looks like  we'll be lucky to get one movie.

Several major studios have stupidly passed on the movie, and right now they are looking at getting independent financing, but that is going to take some time. Regardless of all the bumps in the road, the movie is still moving forward. We have an update on it from Goldsman in an interview with Collider

"It’s not officially back on and we will never let it go – until Stephen takes it away from us… No, [casting decisions aren't being made] but I love reading about it!"

Over the years Javier Bardem and Russell Crowe have been up for the role of Roland Deschine. The most recent actor mentioned in association with the movie was Aaron Paul for the role of Eddie Dean.

Even though Howard is trying to push it through, he's obviously not waiting around for it. The director recently made Rush and is set to direct Heart of the Sea and an adaptation of Dan Brown’s novel Inferno

The Dark Tower may not happen anytime soon, but one day it will all come together and the fans will rejoice.

TRUE DETECTIVE Director Working on Stephen King's IT

$

A couple of years ago director Cary Fukunaga was set to write and direct a feature film adaptation of Stephen King's incredible horror novel It. Fukunaga has directed films such as Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre, but most recently he's been working on the incredible HBO series True Detective. It looks like the director is finally going to get around to getting It into production. It could very well be his next film, which would be great because this movie needs to happen!

Producer Dan Lin gave an update on the film during an interview with Collider saying,

"Cary Fukunaga is writing and directing Stephen King’s It for me, and I’m really excited for that.  So I’m hoping that’ll be his next movie after the indie he’s shooting in Africa.  So I love what he did with True Detective.  I think it’s a great sample for Stephen King’s It.  So I’m really excited about that."

At one point the plan was to develop the novel as a two part movie. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but I really hope that it is. I don't think there's any other way to properly tell that story. I'm a huge fan of the TV series that was made back in the '90s that starred Tim Curry as Pennywise the clown. I wouldn't mind seeing the 'R' rated version of this story on the big screen, but chances are they'll go the PG-13 route. I just want to see this movie finally get made!

Here's the description from the book:

A promise made twenty-eight years ago calls seven adults to reunite in Derry, Maine, where as teenagers they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city's children. Unsure that their Losers Club had vanquished the creature all those years ago, the seven had vowed to return to Derry if IT should ever reappear. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that summer return as they prepare to do battle with the monster lurking in Derry's sewers once more.

Second Full Trailer for Johnny Depp's TRANSCENDENCE

Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for Johnny Depp's upcoming sci-fi thriller Transcendence. As you would expect, it's packed full of new footage. The film was directed by Wally Pfister, and also stars Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, Clifton Collins Jr., Kate Mara, and Paul Bettany. The movie looks pretty freakin' awesome, and I hope that it turns out to be as good as it looks. It definitely looks like the kind of film that is going to spark some long conversations.

Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him. However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeed—to be a participant in his own transcendence. For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they can…but if they should. Their worst fears are realized as Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

The movie comes out on April 17th, 2014.

"The road to power is paved with hypocrisy and casualties."

Netflix has released three new promo trailers for the fantastic looking second season of House of Cards

In the 13-episode second season, Francis (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis's former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker's (Michel Gill) billionaire confidante Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney) demands that Francis reciprocate political favors or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis's once private existence. The Underwood's must overcome these dangers -- past and present -- to avoid losing everything, regardless of collateral damage they leave in their wake.

The second season is set to premiere February 14th, and I have no doubt that it's gonna be good.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Director on Cap's Costume

In a recent interview with SFX, Captain America: The Winter Solider co-director Joe Russo talked about the costume that Captain America wears in the sequel, and why they went with the suit they went with.

“It was about a real world grounding approach to the character, in the spirit of Ed Brubaker’s book, which is postmodern and deconstructionist and a grounded thriller. We wanted to put Cap in a space where he’s a special forces operative for SHIELD who goes on missions around the world that are clandestine and sometimes require a certain level of anonymity or stealth."

Russo went on to explain,

"We wanted to use his Super Soldier outfit from the comic books as a way to represent, thematically, his place in the world of SHIELD and the difference between working for SHIELD and being Captain America. That’s something that gets explored on a very concrete level in terms of what outfits are used in the film. We didn’t feel like we were messing with the icon. People can say that they’re fans of the books if they’re only loyal to the ‘60s and ‘70s version of the character – well, then you’re a fan of that version of the character, but if you’ve been reading the books till the current runs then this is a journey that the character goes on and it’s a pretty explicit journey. We just felt like we were being faithful to the more recent issues of the books. The movie has a very thematic component in terms of the use of costumes. When you come to see the film I think you’ll understand why we made the choice we made…”

I love the costume design in the movie. I like it more than what we saw in The Avengers. It will be interesting to see what costume he ends up wearing in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Do you like Cap's new costume?

STAR WARS REBELS First Look Video of Jedi Kanan

$

It was announced some time ago that Freddie Prinze Jr. was cast in Star Wars Rebels, but who he would play remained unkown. USA Today got an exclusive video that introduces Kanan, a Jedi who is part gunslinger and captain of The Ghost. Freddie talks about doing the voice work for the character of Kanan, whom the creative team has dubbed "the cowboy jedi."

Lots of geeks had speculated that their would be no Jedi in Star Wars Rebels because it is set in the time period between Episodes III and IV. I guess we can expect to see a good number of lightsaber duels on the show.
