DreamWorks has released the Super Bowl spot for Aaron Paul's upcoming action film Need For Speed. I've also included an extended look spot for the movie as well. I think this is going to be a fun, action-packed flick. There is some pretty cool footage shown off in the latest spot. It's set to be released on March 14th, 2014

A few days ago a great red-band trailer was released for Seth MacFarlane's western comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West. Today we bring you a green-band theatrical trailer, which is less vulgar, but equally as funny! I have always enjoyed MacFarlane's comedic style, and so far I've loved what I've seen from the movie. It comes out on May 30th and stars MacFarlane alongside Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Giovanni Ribisi, and Sarah Silverman.

Here's the Super Bowl spot for Paul W.S. Anderson's historical action film Pompeii. The film is set in Pompeii in the year 79 AD when an epic volcanic explosion destroyed the city. Of course, there's a love story that will be thrown into the mix.

The movie does have a great cast of actors that includes Kit Harington, Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland, Jared Harris, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Even with this cast, I'm still not expecting much from the movie. It will be released on February 21st.

The jump took place in October of 2012, and Felix leapt from a balloon floating 24-miles above the Earth. On the way down he broke the sound barrier! Here's a series of teasers for Fox's upcoming series, 24: Live Another Day, which will see the return of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer and Mary Lynn Rajskub as a badass-looking Chloe O'Brian. "The harrowing day will have Jack attempting to thwart an unthinkable terrorist attack that could change the world forever." I love this show, and I couldn't be happier that Jack will be back for another adventure! The "Street Chaos" teaser is definitely the best one.

Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer. Four years ago, Jack was a fugitive from justice. Now an exile, he nevertheless is willing to risk his life and freedom to avert yet another global disaster. Tracking Jack are CIA head Steve Harris (Benjamin Bratt); CIA agent Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), who is both resourceful and ruthless; Jordan Reed (Giles Matthey), a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech; and Erik Ritter (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a sharp, strong and arrogant field operative. Calling the shots is James Heller (William Devane), now President of the United States. Heller is flanked by his Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan), who is married to Heller's daughter -- Jack's former flame, Audrey (Kim Raver). Meanwhile, a hardened Chloe O'Brian (Rajskub), Bauer's CTU confidante, is now working underground with high-profile hacker Adrian Cross (Michael Wincott). Guest stars on 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY include Golden Globe Award winner Judy Davis and Golden Globe Award nominee Stephen Fry

The series is set to premiere on May 5th on Fox.

Thanks to Stan Winston School, we have a really cool piece of original concept art from Ridley Scott's Alien. As you can see, it's the nightmarishly awesome scene when audiences were first introduced to the chestbuster.

I also included a behind the scenes video featuring some the effects involved in bringing the chestbuster to life.

I love looking at storyboard art from classic films. if you ever come across anything that we haven't posted, please submit it to us! To see more Alien storyboard art, click here.

Son-of-Batman-Blu-ray-cover-art.jpg

We've got a 9-minute preview for the upcoming DC animated film Son of Batman. The video not only features footage from the awesome looking movie, it also includes interviews with the crew making the movie. They go into detail on what they have done with the story, and what they will be doing with the characters. This actually looks like it will end up being one of their better animated films.

The film is loosely based on the first story arc from Grant Morrison’s long run of writing Batman comics, illustrated by Andy Kubert. It features the voices of Jason O'Mara as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Stuart Allan as Damian, Morena Baccarin as Talia, Giancarlo Esposito as Ra's Al Ghul, David McCallum as Alfred Pennyworth, Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat), and Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke.

The movie is set to be released late this spring on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download. It will have its world premiere at WonderCon on Easter weekend.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER - Post Credit Scene Details

If you don't want to know anything about what you might see in the post-credits scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, then I suggest you stop reading now.

SPOILERS

You've seen the trailers, so you know this movie not only looks like a sequel to Captain America, but it looks like it could be a sequel to The Avengers as well. So it should come as no surprise that the post-credit sequence would lead us into Avengers: Age of Ultron. The following information comes from Lainey Gossip, who has already seen the sequence. Here's what they say:

… there’s a big reveal that general audiences won’t see coming (and ought to open some doors to fix that awful SHIELD show). But the thing that’s probably going to leave people talking the most is the post-credits stinger. They’re calling them “The Twins”, the brother-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they don’t look like any Marvel heroes we’ve met to date. Having seen them, I am really sad for Fox and the X-Men.

They go on to say that, in comparison, the stuff Fox and Bryan Singer are doing with X-Men is "outright embarrassing." Damn, I'm already crazy excited for The Winter Solider, and now there's this to build on it! I have no doubt that once again, Marvel is going to blow away their fans.

THE MUPPETS MOST WANTED - Extended Super Bowl Spot

Disney has released an extended Super Bowl spot for The Muppets Most Wanted. This is another really fun and inventive spot that also includes emoticon-filled tweets from fans who have seen some of the other trailers for the movie. It also shows off a few of the cameos that you'll see in the film, including Tom Hiddleston and Jason Schwartzman. The way the spot ends is actually really funny. The movie is set to be released on March 21st.

A Sequel to THE LEGO MOVIE Is Already in the Works

That didn't take long. The LEGO Movie hasn't even been released yet, but Warner Bros. is already working on a sequel. I guess this news should come as no surprise. I don't think that there was any doubt that we would see a sequel.

The news comes from The Wrap, who reports the studio has hired Jared Stern to co-write the script. This is the guy who wrote The Internship and Mr. Popper’s Penguins. There's no word on who the other writer is.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller wrote and directed the first film, but there's no indication on whether or not they will be back for the sequel. The report also says that according to advanced market research The Lego Movie will be a huge hit, pulling in around $40 million on opening weekend. The movie looks like it will be a ton of fun, and LEGO has such a huge audience that of course the movie will do well at the box office. It hits theaters this week, and I'll be there to watch it!

Watch Tyrese Gibson's Audition for Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED

I had no idea that Tyrese Gibson (Transformers) auditioned for Quentin Tarntino's Django Unchained. The part was originally offered to Will Smith, who turned it down. Then Jamie Foxx jumped into the role, and he was perfect. It's really interesting to see Gibson auditioning, but I can see why he didn't get it It's not that he was bad, it's just that he lacked that leading man presence. You'll see when you watch it. Thanks to World Star Hip Hop for the video.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER - UK Trailer with Sharon Carter

We have another trailer for Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it features a few little bits of new footage. Most notably Sharon Carter, aka Agent 13, played by Emily VanCamp. This is the potential love interest for Steve Rogers in the film. She is the niece of Cap's former 1940s love interest, Peggy Carter. The movie comes out April 4th.

David Goyer to Direct Sci-Fi Thriller THE BREACH

Lionsgate recently picked up the rights to a new sci-fi thriller called The Breach, and Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel scribe David Goyer is attached to direct it. Goyer also directed the films Blade: Trinity and The Unborn, both of which were mediocre movies. Hopefully he does better with this one. The film is based on a book that he optioned last year, and since then he's been developing it independently.

The story centers "on a corrupt ex-cop who is trying to get his life back in order when he discovers a crashed plane in the Alaska wilderness. The first lady is among those dead in the wreckage. That sets off an adventure featuring a beautiful survivor, assassins, a secret organization, alien technology and an end-of-the-world scenario."

That sure sounds like it has the makings of an interesting, cool movie. Breach is the first in a trilogy of books. The next book in the trilogy is Ghost Country, which will be followed by Deep Sky. I imagine that if the first movie does well, we will see those other books adapted into movies as well.

The project seems to have a lot of potential. I hope that he can can pull it off and give us a movie that we'll enjoy.

SEINFELD Reunion Super Bowl Spot for COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE

One of the funnest commercials that debuted during the Super Bowl yesterday was the one for the web-series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. If featured a fun little Seinfeld reunion including Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, and Wayne Knight as Newman. I think this was one of the better commercials shown during the big game. It's always fun to see these guys together.

In the brand new episode of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," Jerry Seinfeld picks up his "best friend for almost every single day of the 1990s," George Costanza in a 1976 American Motors Pacer—a car Jerry describes as perfect for Costanza since it "doesn't work, looks ridiculous and falls apart." The duo ride together to the legendary Tom's Restaurant (aka Monk's Cafe) for a cup of coffee and some famous 'Seinfeld' banter, when they're interrupted by a crazed Newman.

You can watch the full first episode of the series here! This is actually a really fun, entertaining series, especially for fans of Seinfeld.

Great Pulp Western Style Short Film - DOMINO FALLING

If you have some time to kill, I have a short film for you to watch that's worth checking out. It's called "Domino Falling," and it's a modern day Western that was made to pay tribute to the classic films of Sergio Leone and Sam Peckinpah. The movie was written and directed by Siavash Farahani. It features several scenes from the completed feature length screenplay that he hopes to turn into a feature film.

The story has a Tarantino style feel to it, and it follows a restless hitman in Mexico, "forced to carry out a gruesome task to save his love from a sadistic kingpin rumored to be the Devil himself."

This was a fun movie, and I hope you enjoy it.

Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller Cast in Vinnie Pazienza Boxing Biopic

Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller have been cast in the Martin Scorsese produced biopic of boxer Vinnie Pazienza. The movie will be called Bleed For This, and here's the synopsis:

Based on the incredible true story of one of boxing’s most charismatic and exciting figures, BLEED FOR THIS centers around Vinny Panzienza (Teller), who quickly shot to stardom when he dominated undefeated champion Gilbert Dele. A near-fatal automobile accident left him with the news that he would never walk again. After months of recovery and against doctors’ orders, Vinny returned to the gym under infamous trainer, Kevin Rooney (Eckhart), and made a triumphant return to the ring just over a year later.

Eckhart and Teller are both incredible actors. Teller recent starred in a film called Whiplash that I can't wait for you to see! This project was written by Ben Younger (Boiler Room), and he will also be directing it. Bleed For This sounds like it could be a great movie. It definitely has the right team of talent.

I usually really enjoy the commercials during the Super Bowl, but this year it seemed like most of them were just as bad as the game. I thought I'd do a compilation post featuring several of the commercials that aired during the game. I have to point out, though, that the Axe commercial was so laughably bad. You might be surprised by some of the directors that made these commercial as well. What were your favorite and least favorite commercials during the big game?

Inspiring Apple Short Celebrating Mac's 30th Birthday

Apple has released one of the best commercials that wasn't shown during the Super Bowl. The ad is also a short film. It's called 1.24.14, and it was made to celebrate the 30th birthday of the Mac. Apple launched the first Macintosh computer on January 24th, 1984.

The video was shot around the world on January 24th, 2014, and it was shot entirely on about 100 iPhone 5s smartphones by 15 crews across the world to capture “people doing amazing things with Apple products.” It was directed by Jake Scott, who is Ridley Scott's son.

The short was edited at a Los Angeles command center, and it took 36 hours to complete. The video was edited by Angus Wall, working with a team of 21 editors. As you'll see, it turned out great!

Here's a series of prototype Star Wars character rings that were created by J.A.P. Studio. These were actually developed back in the late '90s to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Star Wars, but apparently they were never released. I like how they designed some for the Rancor, Ackbar, and Bib Fortuna. For those of you who are into the the whole big bulky Star Wars rings thing… sorry you can't purchase these.
