First Look at Adam Sandler in THE COBBLER

FL-The-Cobbler.jpg

This is our first look at Adam Sandler in his new film The Cobbler. The movie is being directed by Tom McCarthy (Win,Win). Sandler plays "a lonely New York shoe repairman who starts to sense that he’s let life pass him by — going nowhere while fixing the shoes of more-assertive customers taking vacations and living adventures. Things change, though, when he discovers a family heirloom that magically lets him 'walk in another man’s shoes' and see the world differently." McCarthy had this to say in an interview with EW

"For a guy who’s known as a funny guy, Adam has a very soulful quality to him. One of the things that makes Adam right for [the role] is that he does handle the various levels of comedy very well. And he transitions really well from comedy to drama. He can make even the smallest, simplest moments funny."

This should be a good film for Sandler, who has made a lot of crap films recently. I like it when he takes on off-beat, different roles like this. I hope that it turns out to be good!

Over the years movie posters have gotten worse and worse, and studios just seems to be getting lazy with them. I loved the days when movie posters were works of art that grabbed the audience's attention. Now people mostly just complain about how bad they are, and question why we can't have awesome movie posters anymore. Well, here's a great video you have to watch called WTF Happened to Movie Posters that breaks it all down for you! Thanks to /Film!

Now the movie just has to live up to the expectations that they've set!

Here's a fun infographic called Geek Love, and it gives us a brief history of geek romances over the years. The infographic comes from Modis, who says,

Geeks are known for their brains, but they really should be known for their hearts. After all, some of the most famous romances in history were created, inspired and even celebrated by geeks.

This is the first TV spot for The LEGO Movie, and it features a lot of fun new footage from the highly anticipated CGI adventure. It even includes out first quick look at The Flash. The movie comes out on February 7th, 2014. LEGO is such a huge world wide brand, it makes me wonder how much money this thing is actually going to make. I know it's going to make a killing, but how much of a killing will it be?!

There's something about the Disney Princess that just makes people want to reimagine them in different ways, and in different situations. Here's a collection of illustrations created by Paul Westover that shows us what these princesses might be like in college.

More Rumors that Bryan Cranston Will Play Lex Luthor

more-rumors-that-bryan-cranston-will-play-lex-luthor.jpg

We've heard a lot of rumors about the possibility of Bryan Cranston taking on the role of Lex Luthor. Those rumors started very early on after the Batman Vs. Superman movie was announced. Even though Cranston has denied those rumors in the past, it's obviously still alive and well. In a recent video podcast for Amasian News, they claim that they've 100% confirmed that Cranston will play the villain. Of course they can't reveal their sources, but they seem pretty confident. They also claim that Ben Affleck will sport an Alex Ross inspired Batman costume in the film. Which is cool, but also goes against stuff we've previously heard. Kevin Smith also went crazy over the suit design that he saw, and I don't think he would have said the things he said over an Alex Ross inspired design.

Keep in mind that these sources are untested, we have no idea how legit they are so treat this news as a big fat rumor. It would be incredible if Cranston played Lex in the sequel! It's would perfect casting! It will be interesting to see what the official casting news will be. In the meantime, this is what the Internet is giving us.

The BBC has released the first photo of Peter Capaldi on the set of Doctor Who. This is his first full day of filming. I've also included the eleventh Doctor's regeneration from the Christmas Special, which is Capaldi's first appearance as the twelfth Doctor.

We still have yet to see Capaldi in his own unique Doctor clothing style, as he is still wearing Matt Smith's clothes that he regenerated in. It will be interesting to see what style his Doctor will ultimately take.

Artist Randy Bishop created this fun illustration featuring Captain America and his sidekick Bucky Barnes in a Disney animation style character design.

Makes me wish Marvel was still making those awesome animated films like they were doing before Disney bought them.

David Lynch Shooting More TWIN PEAKS Footage

 Via: Welcome to Twin Peaks

I assume anyone that is clicking through to read this article has seen Twin Peaks. If not, you should watch it, because it's one of the craziest, most awesome TV series that has ever been made! I just found out that Twin Peaks creator and director David Lynch is going to shoot some new footage for it!

In the finale episode of the series, Laura Palmer tells Special Agent Dale Cooper that she will see him again in 25 years. The series was set in 1989 although it aired in 1990 and 1991. So from the time the series takes place to 2014 makes it exactly 25 years.

There's no word on what Lynch plans on shooting, but he's definitely shooting something Twin Peaks related. A casting call has gone out, and this is what it says,

TWIN PEAKS PROMO. Directed by David Lynch. Shoots in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Prob a 6 hour or less day. Rate is 150/8. You must live in LA to submit. I don’t think SAG has jurisdiction on this, so SAG and NON can submit. I have called SAG to double check this and I am awaiting a call back to confirm.

HOT Caucasian girl – BRUNETTE OR REDHEADS ONLY to play waitress. Age 18-27. MUST have an amazing body. Busty, very period looking face. Please submit two current color photos (one body shot, one face shot), your sizes, union status and contact info to: SandeAlessiCasting@gmail.com.

I imagine this is just going to be something for the upcoming Blu-ray release, but it's still cool, especially if you're a fan of the series.

Lionsgate has released a new TV spot and international poster for I, Frankenstein. I don't know about you, but I think Yo, Frankenstein is a much better title for the movie.

The movie stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey, and Aden Young. It comes out on January 24th, 2014

Hilarious Comedy Short - CODFISH & CYANIDE

hilarious-comedy-short-codfish-cyanide.jpg

"Codfish & Cyanide" is the first amazing short film I've seen in 2014! It's a hilarious comedy that features two people, one room, and a conflict. The movie is in German, but there are English subtitles. Don't let that stop you from watching this! I know some people don't like to read subtitles, but this short is freakin' great and extremely entertaining. You'll be very happy you watched it.

She can’t believe it when he arrives at the restaurant looking squalid, shabby and unwilling to explain himself. The truth sounds way too absurd and being a notorious liar, he can’t risk anything. Cornered, he tells her an intricate story and expects everything – except her actual reaction.

I love that this is a very simple concept that didn't take a lot to make. It left a huge smile on my face. This is really good storytelling with a great script and solid acting. Enjoy!

First Clip from STAN LEE'S MIGHTY 7 Animated Film Series

first-clip-from-stan-lees-mighty-7-animated-film-series.jpg

Here's your first look at a new animated movie series from Stan Lee called Stan Lee's Mighty 7. Unfortunately, it really doesn't look that good. There will be three feature-length films that will air on The Hub Network. The first one is called Beginnings, and it features an impressive voice cast that includes Armie Hammer, Christian Slater, Mayim Bialik, Teri Hatcher, Flea, Darren Criss, Sean Austin, Jim Belushi, and Michael Ironside.

In the film, Stan Lee is hired by Archie Comics to create a new group of superheroes. He finds himself stumped with writer's block and heads to the desert to clear his mind. When seven aliens suddenly crash land near him and start demonstrating their various superpowers, he decides, "Perfect! They will be come my next superheroes!" But almost instantly, he realizes they are being chased by the military and aliens from their own planet, and he needs to act quickly. He makes the decision to have them move into his house in Malibu where he will teach them everything they need to know about being superheroes. Comedy and adventure ensue as the aliens try to adapt to life on earth, and their new roles as superheroes, all the while running for their lives.

The movie series comes from POW! Entertainment and Squared Entertainment, and it's set to air in February on The Hub. It will be followed by a monthly comic book and an animated television series set to debut in 2015. Thanks to THR.

MUPPETS MOST WANTED Spot - Across the Internet

Disney has released an entertaining new spot for Muppets Most Wanted called "Across the Internet." It features new footage from the film, along with some silly hype from fans on Twitter. Of course, the Twitter accounts used were set up just for this promo trailer, but it's still a fun watch. The movie comes out on March 21st, 2014! I've always been a Muppets fan, and I hope this movie ends up being good.

Stan Lee to Officially Appear in AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

There's been some talk and speculation recently regarding Stan Lee appearing in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was only a matter of time before it actually happened, after all, he's made a cameo in pretty much everything that involves Marvel. There are not a lot of details on what his part in the series will entail, but he told THR that it will be a "big role," and the site also released the photo of Lee above with a few of the cast members. It should be fun to see what he ends up doing. It's kind of cool that he will have more than just a cameo in the series.

Sony Announces PLAYSTATION NOW

sony-announces-playstation-now.jpg

Today at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Sony announced Playstation Now, the long-awaited and long-rumored service Sony has been building ever since they acquired Gaikai back in the summer of 2012.

The service will allow you to stream original Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 to select TV's, Tablets, the Playstation 4, and the Vita. The service will be launched this summer with a beta occurring at the end of January. Certain Playstation 3 games have already been announced to be part of the service, more specifically, The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls. Although the demo being shown at CES also has God of War: Ascension. The new service will also bring trophies to titles for the original Playstation and Playstation 2.

This is a potential game changer in the world of video games. There are certain pitfalls though, such as connectivity issues, and graphical resolution may be weaker, but I believe the pros outweigh the cons here. Sony also mentioned that the service will warn you if your connection may effect your gameplay. Playstation Now can be obtained by renting titles individually or through a subscription fee separate from Playstation Plus. Exact pricing and what exactly "rental" means remains unknown.

Cloud based gaming is here, and I, for one, am incredibly excited.
