Universal Will Retire Paul Walker's Character in FAST AND FURIOUS 7

universal-will-retire-paul-walkers-character-in-fast-and-furious-7.jpg

It looks like Universal Pictures and director James Wan have come to a decision about what they are going to do with Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, in Fast and Furious 7. They will move forward with the production, using the footage they shot with Walker. A lot of people speculated that if they did that they would kill off his character, which I always thought would be inappropriate, but that's not what they're going to do.

According to THR, the plan is to "retire the character in a way that the studio hopes will satisfy fans of the franchise."  I was hoping this would be the route they took. I imagine it will be him walking away from the crazy life that he got himself involved with in the franchise. The movie comes out on April 10th, 2015.

Disney Princess Lingerie from Japan… It Finally Happened

The Bellemaison boutique in Japan has created a line of lingerie inspired by Disney's princesses. I guess it was only a matter of time before it happened. The collection includes lingerie for characters such as Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, and Rapunzel.

Each set goes for around 4,000 yen (or $38) and can be purchased online here for those girls who want to feel like a princess or those guys with a creepy Disney princess fetish. Thanks to io9 for the heads up!

Belle’s bra takes a cue from her famous golden gown with plenty of gathered fabric and a bronze bow.

The Cinderella-inspired bra looks good enough for the ball, complete with feminine blue trim and billowing white chiffon accents.

The Aurora lingerie is set in a romantic pink, draped in elegant rose lace.

Rapunzel makes an appearance with a bra that mimics her lace-up dress in a beautiful lavender color.

Torrent Freak recently released the data for the top 10 pirated films as gauged by Bit Torrent, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey topped this year's list with at least 8.4 million downloads. The number in all likelihood is higher due to most torrent users enabling some kind of anti tracking software for their torrenting. The full list can be found below which, as you can see, shows a bias to films that came out earlier in the year as opposed to later. Missing from the list this year despite their high box office numbers are The Hunger Games and Man of Steel, while the flop Gangster Squad  made number 7 with 7.2 million downloads.

  1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey; 8.4 mil downloads
  2. Django Unchained: 8.1 mil downloads
  3. Fast and Furious 6: 7.9 mil downloads
  4. Iron Man 3: 7.6 mil downloads
  5. Silver Linings Playbook: 7.5 mil downloads
  6. Star Trek Into Darkness: 7.4 mil downloads
  7. Gangster Squad: 7.2 mil downloads
  8. Now You See Me: 7 mil downloads
  9. The Hangover Part 3: 6.9 mil downloads
  10. World War Z: 6.7 mil downloads

The latest cover of Justice Magazine features the Powerpuff Girls, obviously like you've never seen them before. They're all grown up and have been sexed up a bit. The illustration was done by Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau, and maybe Cartoon Network's Adult Swim should think about turning these grown up Powerpuff Girls into an animated series.

JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT - Film Clip and 2 New Posters

Paramount Pictures has released a clip for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and two character posters featuring Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley. I'm actually kind of looking forward to this movie. I've always liked the Jack Ryan character, and I hope this ends up being just as good as some of the previous films that have been made.

Based on the character created by bestselling author Tom Clancy, “Jack Ryan” is a global action thriller set in the present day.  This original story follow a young Jack (Chris Pine) as he uncovers a financial terrorist plot.

The story follows him from 9/11, through his tour of duty in Afghanistan, which scarred him forever, and into his early days in the Financial Intelligence Unit of the modern CIA where he becomes an analyst, under the guardianship of his handler, Harper (Kevin Costner).  When Ryan believes he’s uncovered a Russian plot to collapse the United States economy, he goes from being an analyst to becoming a spy and must fight to save his own life and those of countless others, while also trying to protect the thing that's more important to him than anything, his relationship with his fiancée Cathy (Keira Knightley).

The movie comes out on December 25th, 2013!

These photos give us our first look at RKO Pictures' upcoming action comedy Barely Lethal, which stars Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson

The story follows a young international assassin named Megan (Steinfeld), who wants to have a “normal” adolescence. This prompts her to fake her own death and enroll in a suburban high school.

The movie also stars Jessica Alba as Victoria, Megan's former handler and current nemesis. She enlists Heather (Sophie Turner) to go undercover at the high school and reacquire the runaway. Jackson plays Megan’s mentor, Hardman.

The movie comes out in the fall, and it seems like it could end up being a fun movie. We'll know more when the trailer is released.

We've got a solidly made short film for you to check out today. It's a technological thriller called "The Awareness." The film starts out a little slow, but the tension grows as you watch it, especially toward the end. Here's the synopsis,

On the eve of a technological breakthrough, an insignificant janitor and a prominent engineer are faced with a decision that will alter the course of humanity: the release of the first aware computer system into the world.

Marvel Developing GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Animated Series?

$

It's going to be really interesting to see how James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy turns out and how audiences react to these new and different Marvel characters. It looks like the studio is going to take them beyond the movie though, as they seem to be planning an animated series as well!

The news comes from CBM, who says that a well placed source has confirmed to them that Marvel does "indeed have plans for a new animated series focusing on the Guardians Of The Galaxy."  They go on to explain that the studio was "undecided on whether to go with GOTG or yet another Spider-Man cartoon, and although the latter may also happen, it seems they've settled on the Guardians for now."

As of right now there is no official information on what is going on, but it makes sense that they would develop a series based on the upcoming movie. The only thing about Marvel animation is that all the other shows they have out right now aren't really very good. They are all kind of cheap looking. After they cancelled Earth's Mightiest Heroes everything kind of went down the crapper. I don't know if that was Disney's hand, Jeph Loeb's or both, but after the big changes, the quality in the work just dropped. Maybe they'll put a little more effort into Guardians of the Galaxy

This is an international trailer for a political spy thriller called A Most Wanted Man, which has a great cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright, Willem Dafoe, and Daniel Brühl. The movie is an adaptation of the book written by John le Carré.

A Most Wanted Man takes place in present day Hamburg, Germany where a mysterious, tortured and near-dead half-Chechen, half-Russian man on the run arrives in the city's Islamic community desperate for help and looking to recover his late Russian father's ill-gotten fortune. Nothing about this young man seems to add up; is he a victim or a thief or, worse still, an extremist intent on destruction? Drawn into this web of intrigue is a private British banker and a young female lawyer determined to defend the defenseless. All the while, they are being watched by the brilliant, roguish chief of a covert German spy unit (Hoffman), who fights to put the pieces together as the clock ticks.

There's no release date for the film yet, but it's set to be shown at this month's Sundance Film Festival. it looks like a really well made, intense film. Thanks to Comingsoon for the embed!

I enjoy Wes Anderson's sense of humor. His films aren't for everyone, but damn, they make me laugh! Here's a couple of funny clips from his upcoming film The Grand Budapest Hotel. I'm pretty excited about this movie, looks like Anderson has made another classic.

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune—all against the backdrop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

The film boasts an impressive cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson.

It comes out on March 7th!

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Producer on Wonder Woman Role

Zack Snyder will start shooting Batman Vs. Superman early next year, and it seems like all the casting is starting to fall into place. It's going to be interesting to see exactly who else ends up being cast in the film, and what characters they will play.

In a recent interview with M Live (via: Comingsoon), producer Wesley Coller spoke about the highly anticipated sequel, as well as Wonder Woman, who is being played by Gal Gadot. When asked about the character he said,

“[My daughter’s] favorite book is this little Wonder Woman flip book. It has the lasso, the invisible plane, the bracelets – every page has an image she’s just in awe with. And something that’s become a reality, being a dad with a new daughter, is that I have a special place in my heart for the idea of a strong, empowered female superhero being out there.”

When it comes to a possible future spinoff film, Coller says,

“We’re super excited to have her in the film. It will be a ton of fun, but at the same time, we’ve got to stay focused on the film we’re working on now.”

So fans will have to wait a little bit longer before they see a stand alone Wonder Woman movie. The producer then goes on to talk about Ben Affleck as Batman and some of the negative comments surrounding the casting.

“Anything you do that’s culturally significant, or any time you deal with an iconic character or story, you’re going to hear responses from every possible perspective… If anything, that gauges the relevance of a property or character, and it’s invigorating to know people care that much. It inspires you to make the coolest version of the movie that you can. Ben is the perfect fit for Zack’s vision for this story.”

I'm sure Affleck is going to be great as Batman, and it will be fun to see him and Henry Cavill face-off on the big screen. The movie will shoot at Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac where it will occupy all seven sound stages on the lot in addition to several locations around the state.

The movie will also star Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Then there's Joaquin Phoenix who is rumored to be up for a major role. The film is set for release on July 27th, 2015.

Warner Bros. has released the first photo from Clint Eastwood's big screen adaptation of the musical Jersey Boys. The story is set in the 60s, and centers around Frankie Valli and the other members of pop music sensation the Four Seasons during their rise to superstardom.

The film serves as a biopic of Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi and their hit singing group, telling the meteoric tale of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were thirty.

The movie stars John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Vincent Piazza, and Michael Lomenda. It's set to hit theaters June 20th, 2014
