Silent Night Trailer for DEVIL'S DUE

silent-night-trailer-for-devils-due.jpg

We have a new trailer for the found footage horror film Devil's Due, and it features a creepy little twist on the Christmas song "Silent Night." I think any Christmas songs would make a great addition to any horror movie.

After a mysterious, lost night on their honeymoon, a newlywed couple finds themselves dealing with an earlier-than-planned pregnancy. While recording everything for posterity, the husband begins to notice odd behavior in his wife that they initially write off to nerves, but, as the months pass, it becomes evident that the dark changes to her body and mind have a much more sinister origin.

The movie comes out on January 17th, 2014

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE - Two Character Posters

Warner Bros. has released a couple of new character posters for Noam Murro's 300: Rise of the Empire. The poster above features Lena Headey as Queen Gorgo, and the poster below features Jack O'Connell as Calisto. I'm excited for this sequel! It looks pretty epic!

Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster 300, this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Teaser Trailer

Dawnoftheplanetoftheapes944444.png

The first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is here! The teaser gives us a first, brief look at the humans, as well as the apes who will be taking over the world. There's not a lot of interesting footage in this teaser, but I guess it's enough to spark a little interest. I loved the first film, so I'm hoping the sequel ends up being just as good. The film was directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, and Judy Greer.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

The movie comes out on July 11th, 2014.

A couple of days ago we brought you a red-band trailer for 22 Jump Street. Now we have a cleaner theatrical trailer you can watch which features some more new footage!

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are back as Jenko and Schmidt. This time they set out on an undercover college adventure! Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller also returned for the sequel, and it looks just as fun as the first one.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

The movie comes out on June 13th, 2014.

This is the first trailer for the romantic comedy called Blended, which is this third film that  Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have collaborated on. They also starred in 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer. It doesn't look as good as either of those two films, but there's an audience our there that will enjoy it.

After a disastrous blind date, single parents Lauren (Barrymore) and Jim (Sandler) agree on only one thing: they never want to see each other again. But when they each sign up separately for a fabulous family vacation with their kids, they are all stuck sharing a suite at a luxurious African safari resort for a week.

The movie is scheduled to be released on May 23rd, 2014.

Here's a very cool set of Downton Abbey fan art that features several of the characters as villains from Batman's Rogue Gallery. The art comes from Shadow Santa. Who would have ever thought that we would see the world of Downton Abbey mixed with the world of Batman?

Universal Pictures has released a third trailer for their hilarious looking comedy Neighbors. The movie stars Seth Rogen as a family man who finds himself up against a crazy disruptive frat house led by Zac Efron

The story follows a young couple "suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby." I'm really looking forward to watching this movie. I think it's going to be really good one.

It was directed by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek) and also stars Rose Byrne, Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lisa Kudrow, Jake Johnson, Ike Barinholtz, and Craig Roberts.

Neighbors comes out on May 9th, 2014!

"The future belongs to those who bring it to life in the present."

Here's a really cool sci-fi teaser trailer for a cyber warfare short film called "November Renaissance: The Open Source Decade." It's a very visually stimulating movie, and it looks like it could really great. There are some cool concepts and ideas, and I'd like to see more on how the story will all play out.

A narrative exploration into the growing threat of corporate espionage and intellectual property theft, a revolution in cyber warfare, leading to the dawn of cybernetics and human augmentation.

This comes to us from Clayton Haugen, and I hope you enjoy it!

Trailers For Exciting Wii U Games HYRULE WARRIORS And NES REMIX

Nintendo dropped a few huge bombshells in their Nintendo Direct presentation today. Two of these were brand new games that look awesome! The first one, Hyrule Warriors, is a hack-n-slash Zelda title made in collaboration with the team who makes the widely popular Dynasty Warriors. In the trailer we see Link battling numerous goons and having a showdown with King Dodongo in the middle of Termina Field. The second game Nintendo announced, they simultaneously released along with the trailer. NES Remix is a game that offers challenging modes to some of the NES classics we all know and love. Its quick pacing and random challenges seem really similar to the 9 Volt levels in the Warioware series, but at $14.99 and being released today, I'm not complaining! Both trailers can be found below!

Joaquin Phoenix Wanted for BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Villain

It looks like Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder are looking to cast Joaquin Phoenix in their upcoming Batman Vs. Superman film!

According to Variety, they are very early in the process of trying to get the actor on board. Even if the studio does offer Phoenix a role though, would he even take it? It's not confirmed yet, but the part he's up for is believed to be Lex Luthor.

Phoenix is an amazing actor, and there's no doubt he would be incredible in the movie. But, he's been steering clear of big budget movies like this. He seems like the kind of actor now that wants to make deeper, more meaningful films. I'd be really surprised if he ended up joining this sequel.

The report goes on to say that the actor is also looking at an offer to join the Gus Van Sant directed film Sea of Trees, which seems more like something he would want to be a part of.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. What would you think of Phoenix playing Lex Luthor?

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Talk X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan discussed a few things regarding Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. One thing was the experience of working with their younger selves in the movie, and if they all actually worked together to have their performances synced up

When it was brought up, McKellan joked, "Nope. It's up to them to sync with us. Then Stewart added, "We came first." When McKellen was asked if he meets up with Michael Fassbender's Magneto in the film he says, "No, I don't, I just stay by myself and I never meet my younger self."

patrick-stewart-and-ian-mckellen-talk-x-men-days-of-future-past-2.jpg

Since we've all seen the trailer, we know that Stewart will meet up with James McAvoy's younger Xavier, and this is what Stwart had to say about it,

"There was a certain happy charm about it, in that, when we shot that scene, it was James' first day of work and it was my last day. So I was saying goodbye to X-Men and he was saying hello. James has seen everything I have done, I've seen everything he has done. He is illustrating a time in Charles Xavier's life which was very different from the time that I've been inhabiting in the previous three movies, and we just let that play out. I think we've both been looking forward to doing that scene immensely."

McKellen then goes on to explain why he and Fassbender have never discussed playing the same character in the same way,

patrick-stewart-and-ian-mckellen-talk-x-men-days-of-future-past-3.jpg

"No, No, I think he made it clear that he wanted to be his own Magneto and that suits the nature of the story and his part in it. And, Bryan Singer clearly doesn't mind that we're, Fassbender and I, don't look much like each other, although they have put out a poster where our faces are blended and you do a double take and think, ooh, my goodness, I didn't know I was that good looking and then realize the bit that's good looking is not me but Fassbender."

When the subject of X-Men: Apocalypse came up, neither of them seemed to know what was happening with it, or if they will return. Stewart went on to say,

"Well I don't know if Ian knows anything about this, but I know nothing about it. Another X-Men movie has been announced and I said yes, yes, yes, it opens in May and they say no, no, no. Not that one, the one after."

Stewart then asked McKellan, "Has anybody called you, are you keeping something from me?" To which McKellen replied, "No, no. No, I know nothing about it, which probably means we're not in it." Stewart then added, "And then they'll find they need us after all, if we're lucky."

X-Men: Days of Future Past looks like it will be the best X-Men movie to date, and I can't wait! It hits theaters on May 23rd, 2014.

President Obama Loves HOUSE OF CARDS: Asked To Do Cameo

In a meeting with several big tech gurus about web security, CBS News caught President Obama asking Netflix C.E.O. Reed Hastings if he had brought advance copies of Season 2 of House of Cards. Apparently the President and quite a few White House staffers are fans of the critically acclaimed series. Hastings then of course offers him a chance to cameo on the show, which he ignores and says he wishes the White House was as efficient as the show. While I don't deny that having Frank Underwood in office would undoubtedly bring more action to the US Government... something tells me that's not the road we want to go down! You can watch the video of the exchange below.
