First Footage from GAME OF THRONES Season 4

HBO has released a 7-second teaser of what is coming in Game of Thrones Season 4! It may not be much, but it was enough to get me a little amped up for the return of the series! It gives us a brief look at Sansa, Tyrion, Jaime, and Joffrey at a wedding. Here's a bit of information on the upcoming season,

Due to the sheer length of the third novel, which is roughly 1.5 times the size of the first novel, the events of "A Storm of Swords" was split between season 3 and the upcoming season 4. However, Season 4 may also contain some material from the fourth and fifth books as some of those events happen concurrently to events taking place in "A Storm of Swords."

I also included HBO's full year-end promo. There's lots of good stuff to look forward to!

Red-Band Trailer for 22 JUMP STREET

Sony Pictures has just released the first trailer for 22 Jump Street, and it's a red-band. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill return as Jenko and Schmidt for another undercover adventure. This time they are headed to college! You'll also see a few familiar faces from the first movie. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the first film, and the second looks like it will at least be just as entertaining.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

The movie was directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and it comes out on June 13th, 2014.

SA Wardega appears to be a very relevant foreign YouTube celebrity whom I, and most likely you, have never heard of before. Regardless of those facts, he has some very funny geeky videos. I've learned that after watching him stop a train dressed as Gandalf from Lord of The Rings. Things get a little crazier from that point, so make sure you watch it all the way through!

James Cameron Compares AVATAR Sequels to GODFATHER Trilogy

It was recently announced that the next three Avatar sequels will be shot in New Zealand, and James Cameron will spend around $500 million dollars to make them. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Cameron discussed a few details from the film such as where it will take place, the underwater element, and the story, which he compares to The Godfather trilogy. As far as where the story is set, he explains,

"It's going to be a lot of new imagery and a lot of new environments and creatures across Pandora. We're blowing it out all over the place. At first I thought I was going to take it onto other worlds as well, in the same solar system, but it turned out not to be necessary. I mean the Pandora that we have imagined will be a fantasy land that is going to occupy people for decades to come, the way I see it."

As you know, there's also been a lot of talk about the first sequel taking place underwater, but not all of it will be underwater,

"There's a fair bit of underwater stuff. It's been inaccurately said that the second film takes place underwater. That's not true. There are underwater scenes and surface-water scenes having to do with indigenous ocean cultures that are distributed across the three films."

Cameron goes on to talk about the story, saying that the sequels will focus not only on Jake, but the rest of his family on Pandora,

"It was very Jake-centric. His story seen through his eyes. We spread it around quite a bit more as we go forward. It's really the story of his family, the family that he creates on Pandora. His extended family. So think of it as a family saga like 'The Godfather.'"

The first film was a lot like Dances With Wolves, so I wonder if Cameron may have actually been inspired by The Godfather when working on these sequels. It should really be interesting to see exactly what he's planning. I really enjoyed the first movie, but I hope that these turn out even better. Cameron makes great sequels, so there's a good chance that they will be.

The first sequel will be released in December 2016, the second one in December 2017, and the third a year later in December 2018. Production is scheduled to start next year with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Stephen Lang all set to reprise their roles.

This is our first look at the character Cate Blannchett voices in DreamWorks Animation's highly anticipated sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2

She plays Valka, "a maverick Dragon Rider who lives as a recluse in the Arcticand becomes a mentor of sorts to the young Viking hero of the first movie, Hiccup (Jay Baruchel)." When talking about the character, Dean DeBlois explains,

"Somebody living with the animals and learning to communicate with them in non-verbal ways and becoming much like a dragon herself.

"Her years of isolation and dealing with nothing but dragons and being very sympathetic to them has made her very distrusting of humans.

"Valka's life is not only learning about all (the dragons') secrets and ways and living among them, but also playing among them," he adds. "That's part of what she can show Hiccup, things he's never known about dragon behavior.''

As far as the story goes, we've got a few more details, it "checks in with Hiccup and his dragon pal, Toothless, five years after he brought humans and dragons together on the island of Berk.

"An outsider who's now the village hero, Hiccup is on the verge of adulthood, with his chieftain father, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), grooming him for responsibility. But he'd rather embrace what's left of his carefree childhood.

"Hiccup's sense of adventure drives him to explore the world past Berk, and he and Toothless travel to the Arctic and stumble upon Valka, a vigilante who is springing dragons from traps and hiding them in a refuge away from the villainous dragon hunter Drago Bludvist (Djimon Hounsou) and his No. 2, Eret (Kit Harington)."

Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are also all set to reprise their roles in the film. The movie is set to be released on June 13th, 2014!

Thanks to Studio Ciné Live, we have a better look at the suit Wolverine will be wearing in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It looks cool, but at the same time it has more of a Batman feel to it, just less armor, and more simplified. Personally, I just want to finally see him in his classic outfit, and I'm sure a lot of the fans would like to see it too. It doesn't sound like we'll se it in this movie, though.

As you can see, the cover also includes Michael FassbenderJames McAvoy, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart. The movie hits theaters on May 23rd, 2014, and I'm looking forward to seeing more from the movie!

The LEGO Game franchise is at it again, this time with LEGO The Hobbit. According to the trailer, the game is based on the first two movies, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. I’m sure this game will be basically the same as the other LEGO adventure games, but this time with more cute Dwarves and Martin Freeman.

If there is a follow-up game, hopefully it will have an awesome LEGO dragon fight. That would be worth playing.

ROUNDERS Sequel Moving Forward with Damon, Norton, and De Niro

Miramax founders Harvey and Bob Weinstein are teaming back up with the company that they left in 2005. They've signed a deal with them that allows them to regain control of the Miramax library!

The first movies they are pushing into production will be sequels to Best Picture winner Shakespeare in Love and the cult poker film Rounders! Rounders is one of my favorite movies. I just watched it again the other day, and damn, it's good! I'm not sure what a sequel would look like, but Harvey Wienstein had this to say about it to Deadline,

"I’ve discussed making Rounders 2 with Matt Damon and I would say that’s going to be instantaneous. The guys [writers David Levien and Brian Koppelman] have a great idea, a way to make it more international where you start the card game in Paris, that’s all I want to say. There might be a certain beautiful Parisian actress involved in it, and then we’re off to the racetrack and Vegas with Matty and Edward Norton, and a new supervillain to replace John Malkovich."

They want to cast Robert De Niro in that villainous role, which would be perfect! I'm sure they'll be able to land him. I'm really excited that a Rounders sequel is coming! I think it has the potential to be really great!

You know what I'm not excited about? A Shakespeare in Love sequel. Even though it won an Oscar, I can't help but think a sequel would bomb in every way. It just seems like such a terrible idea. When talking about that, Weinstein said,

"I personally have never made a sequel, but I will make Shakespeare In Love as one. I’ve always wanted to do that and now we have the impetus to."

We'll see how that turns out. They also plan to start developing develop TV series based Good Will Hunting, Swingers, and Flirting with Disaster. Those should all end up being interesting projects as well. It's hard to imagine Swingers without Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, though.

In the end, I'm just happy that we are going to get a sequel to Rounders

For those of you who need a little geek motivation to get you going, I suggest that you watch the movie 300, and then get yourself a zombie head kettlebell! Then if you don't like it, or you get lazy, at least you will have a steel zombie head decoration sitting in the corner of your room.

They are available in sizes ranging from 18lbs to 72lbs. They’re made from chip resistant iron and balanced perfectly for swings and lifts. You can find more details here

Yet Another Poster for THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG!

Just when you thought it was safe, here's another poster for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug! The movie has already been released, and the studio is still pushing more posters out! Crazy! Remember the day when there was only one, maybe two movie posters? Now there's like 40 of them for every big budget tentpole film! It's madness I tell you! It's a cool poster, though. I loved Smaug!

While you're here, I'll just take the opportunity to tell you while you that the movie pulled in over $73.6 million this last weekend domestically, and over $204.8 million worldwide! So the movie is doing very well. I saw reports earlier that the movie was going to fall under $70 million, which would have been a disappointment for the studio, but they ended up hitting a little above what they were expecting, so that's good!

I thought The Desolation of Smaug was fantastic, and I am so excited to see the third and final movie!

Will Paul Walker's Brother Help Complete FAST AND FURIOUS 7?

will-paul-walkers-brother-help-complete-fast-and-furious-7.jpg

As of right now, we still don't know what exactly Universal Pictures and director James Wan are going to do with Fast and Furious 7. They've been discussing several different ideas of what to do. Do they keep what they have and work around it, or do they scrap the whole project and start over? The movie was about halfway completed when Walker tragically died, and family and friends are still mourning his death.

There's no doubt that Walker would want them to press forward and finish the film, and using the version he was in would pay tribute to the actor who helped launch the franchise.

A new rumor has surfaced that suggests Universal is looking to bring in Walker's younger brother Cody to fill in and help finish the film.

The news comes from The Daily Mail, who says the 25-year-old Cody, who has worked as a stuntman, might be a stand-in for multiple scenes in the film.

They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it’s a shot they need Paul’s face in close up they can CGI it later on. If Cody agrees it’s because he wants to honor his brother’s memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving.

If they can figure out a way to make it all work, then why not? It's better then rewriting everything and starting from scratch. It would kind of be a shame if Walker wasn't in the movie at all. Hopefully they can find a way to make something work where they don't loose all the work that has been done.

What do you think about the possibility of using his little brother?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Star in and Direct SANDMAN

A few weeks ago it was rumored that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and David Goyer would be coming together to bring us a big screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Sandman. It has now been confirmed that Gordon-Levitt is currently finalizing his deal with Warner Bros. to star in AND possibly direct the film from a script written by Goyer! How freakin' cool is that?! Gordon-Levitt made his directorial debut with Don Jon, which ended up being a great movie, and I'm incredibly excited to see what he has in store for Sandman.

The Sandman series shifts between horror and fantasy, and the central character is Morpheus, the personification of dreams. Gordon-Levitt would play Morpheus.

joseph-gordon-levitt-to-star-in-and-direct-sandman-2.jpg

Sandman launched DC Comic's Vertigo imprint, which ran for 75 issues beginning in 1989. Gaiman's worlds-within-worlds weaved an episodic anthology, focusing on Morpheus, the Lord of the Dreaming, a deity who personifies dreams. The book began in the horror realm but quickly made its mark in fantasy and mythology as Gaiman introduced the Endless, a group of powerful brothers and sisters named Destiny, Death, Destruction, Despair, Desire, and Delirium (as well as Dream).

As a big fan of Levitt and the Sandman series, I'm really excited to see what comes of this!

Check out this great piece of Homer Simpson tribute art created French artist PEZ. The print was created for Under the Bridge, and it will be released on Wednesday, December 18th, at around 12pm eastern. It's part of the artist's "Distroy" series. For more information, click here.

I absolutely love this dark and eerie design of the famous cartoon character. I've also included some variants, in which Homer is wearing a different themed shirt in each piece.
