Surprisingly Awesome Anime Rapper You Have To Hear

GUndam-Wing.jpg

Randomly making my way through the internet today, I saw a video of a guy named Richie Branson doing a rap over the theme of Attack On Titan. I almost didn't listen because I've been subjected to so much geek rap over the years, and more often than not, it's pretty awful. This, on the other hand, is pretty good. It's kind of a mix between Deltron 3030 with a hint of Mike Shidona and a lot of Anime. Fans of shows such as Cowboy Bebop and the Gundam series will appreciate these songs. Listen below and download his latest album, Otaku Tuesdays Volume II, for free here!

Here’s a revealing look behind the previsualization (previs) of Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World. Previs is looking more realistic than ever, but it’s what that careful planning allowed the filmmakers to do on set that will leave you with a newfound respect for the movie. If you were already impressed by the scope of the realm-jumping battles in this film, you’ll be blown away by the amount of practical effects that were used, and by some of the breathtaking, real world locations.

We've got another TV spot for David O. Russell's fantastic looking new film American Hustle called "Unexpected."

The movie stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence. The story follows a con man, Irving Rosenfeld, and his partner, Sydney Prosser, as they are forced to work for FBI agent Richie DiMaso, who pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.

The movie has such a great cast, an incredible director, and you can bet it's going to have its fair share of award nominations. it will get a limited release on December 13th.

Twitch Removes PS4 Playroom From Streaming Service - This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things

There is always a few people that ruin the fun for everyone. The latest crackdown by the fun police is on PS4 augmented reality streaming. Once the PS4 and the integrated Twitch streaming went live, players began streaming everything they could, from the games they were playing to the augmented reality game called The Playroom.

The Playroom uses the Playstation Camera to watch the room and interact with the players in it. Some people played it as designed, but some started to get creative, one couple even ran an impromptu talk show, called The Spartan Show, which netted over 200,000 viewers. Sony VP Adam Boyes even called in to talk on air! Unfortunately this couple’s clever idea has been eclipsed by the numerous strip tease and porn shows that also cropped up.

TwitchTV.jpeg

Sony and Twitch both began handing out bans as quickly as possible to try to control the rampant lewd behavior, but apparently Twitch has had enough and has pulled The Playroom from Twitch. Twitch told Game Informer the official reason for the removal was “We removed Playroom content from the directory because a majority of it was non-gaming related,”.  which is true. A strip tease would have to be rather interesting to count as being gaming related.

So, because a few people couldn't resist showing their private bits on the internet, now no one can have fun. I just hope the call-show couple finds another outlet for their popular show, because 200,000 viewers is rather incredible.

Here's the latest piece of Marvel NOW! variant cover art created by Alex Ross for Marvel's 75th Anniversary featuring Daredevil, the man without fear. Ross sure does have a way of making these characters really badass.

The comic reboot comes from Mark Waid and Chris Samnee, and it features Matt Murdock moving from Hell's Kitchen to San Francisco, where he will have a new home and career. Waid had this to say about the the comic,

"Matt has to leave New York and, in many ways, has no choice but to return to California–specifically, California, no where else to go.

It's not nostalgia that drives Matt there, oddly enough -- it's that (without giving away the why of it) it's the only place he can go and preserve one important aspect of his life. A good lawyer might be able to guess why that is."

Screen Junkies has released a fun new Honest Trailer for the 1990 holiday classic Home Alone. Basically it points out how Kevin McCallister has the worst family ever.

There's no better way to start the Christmas season than by revisiting the family holiday classic featuring cutie pie Macaulay Culkin violently standing his ground against two hapless burglars! It's Home Alone!

Comedian Nick Kroll has released a hilarious fake movie trailer that addresses the rare convergence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. It's called Thanksgivukkah, and here's a little information on the story.

Kroll as a man forced to juggle two celebrations as he attempts to keep his in-laws from discovering his Jewish heritage.

After Kroll's character discovers that both holidays fall on the same day, his parents and his wife's parents both show up and he dashes between two separate dinners, trying to hide the signs of where he's been.

The movie also stars Fred Willard, Penny Marshall, Fred Melamed, and Kumail Nanjiani. I could actually see this eventually being turned into movie.

Happy Thanksgivukkah, everyone!!

First Trailer for the Jesus Christ Biopic SON OF GOD

I've always thought it was funny that a lot of historically set films use British accents as a way to tell their story. We've got the first trailer for 20th Century Fox's film Son of God that gives us a British Jesus. Gotta love Hollywood.

The story follows Jesus Christ, played by Diogo Morgado, from his birth to his teachings and the major events of his life including the crucifixion and resurrection. The studio is looking to bank on the built in religious audience. There's no doubt people will flock to see the movie, just like they did with Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ. Only this film looks much lighter and not as brutal.

This is the synopsis released with the trailer,

Now, the larger-than-life story of The New Testament gets a larger-than life treatment in the stand-alone feature SON OF GOD. Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®-winner Hans Zimmer. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. It marks the first motion picture about Jesus's life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago.

The movie is set to be released on February 28th, 2014.

This TARZAN Movie Isn't Looking Any Better with a New Trailer

Constantin Films has released a new UK trailer for their CG animated adaptation of Tarzan. Unfortunately, the movie doesn't look any better. I like the story of Tarzan, but this just doesn't look like a very good adaptation of the classic adventure.

While in a remote part of Africa exploring a mineral cache in a mysterious cave, entrepreneur JOHN GREYSTOKE and his wife ALICE are killed in a tragic helicopter crash, leaving their three-year-old JOHN, JR. to fend for himself. Rescued by KALA, a gentle ape, the traumatized child is brought up by a band of mountain gorillas as one of their own, learning the ways of the wild as he grows into a strong and indepdendent young man known as TARZAN. At 14, Tarzan first encounters another human: JANE PORTER, a pretty and intrepid teen visiting Africa with her naturalist father. His contact with a creature so like himself leaves him unsettled and yearning for more. The gorilla tribe’s longtime leader dies and is succeeded by a brutal silverback named TUBLAT, who settles an old score by driving Tarzan out of the group. As Tarzan wanders alone, he stumbles on the wreckage of the helicopter, where he unknowingly triggers a signal to his late father’s company. CLAYTON, a ruthlessly ambitious executive at Greystoke Industries, hires Jane and her father with a greedy scheme that will destroy the entire ecosystem. Jane, hoping to derail the plan, reconnects with Tarzan and becomes a target for both Clayton and Tublat. Facing deadly challenges from man and beast, Tarzan must use his jungle intuition and his human intellect to save his home and the woman he loves. A spectacular animated safari into a vibrant and exotic landscape, TARZAN 3D is a gorgeously rendered, action-packed journey through a magnificently imagined world.

Tarzan 3D was adapted for the screen by Jessica Postigo (The Mortal Instruments) and Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs), and stars Kellan Lutz (Twilight) as Tarzan and Spencer Locke (Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Jane.

A few months ago we posted the trailer for a Star Wars fan film called "Star Wars Downunder." The full 30-minute short is now online for your viewing pleasure. I thought it was entertaining, and the lightsaber boomerangs were a cool addition.

The film "finally answers the age old question, that has confounded many a film buff before: What would happen if you crossed Star Wars with an Australian beer commercial. Answer? 'Star Wars Downunder': an epic tale of the good, the bad and the thirsty. Directed by Michael Cox and written by Bryan Meakin and Michael Cox, 'Star Wars Downunder' is half an hour of action, special effects and lovable Aussie larakins."

I thought it was pretty fun. Hope you enjoy it!

Trailer for ENEMIES CLOSER with Jean-Claude Van Damme

Jean-Claude Van Damme has sure been on a roll recently, hasn't he! We've seen him in an epic split Volvo commercial and a trailer for a film called Welcome to the Jungle. Now today we have a trailer for an action thriller that he stars in called Enemies Closer, where he plays a crazy villain type character. The movie also has an interesting cast that includes Orlando Jones and Tom Everett Scott. It's a little weird seeing all these actors together in this type of movie. It just seems unnatural for some reason.

Enemies Closer takes place after a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border. Forest ranger and former Navy SEAL Henry is plunged into survival mode when the drug cartel forces him to help retrieve the downed package. Trapped in the wilderness with no communication to the outside world, Henry finds himself face to face with Clay, a man with a personal vendetta against Henry who has returned for retribution. Now, the two mortal enemies must make a choice: put aside their past and work together, or die alone at the hands of the drug runners, a ruthless gang who will stop at nothing to retrieve their lost cargo.

The movie will get a limited release in theaters and on VOD on January 24th, 2014

When you’re a grown man, it’s best not to yell things like, “Gimme I want!” at your laptop… You’ll get some weird looks if you're in public. But that’s the type of reaction 3A Toys’ take on Iron Man deserves. The prototype was designed by 3A co-creator Ashley Wood, and word is there are some “nifty colorways” on the way. Following Iron Man, the Toy Studio will go to work on Doc Doom, Ultron, and Spiderman.

For coming info on the final toy, its release date and price, stay tuned to the 3A Production blog.

Paramount Pictures has released two new TV spots for Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street

The film is based on Jordan Belfort's best-selling memoir of the same name. It chronicles Belfort’s dramatic rise and fall on Wall Street, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life, which included drug and alcohol addiction.

The movie is set to be released on December 25th!

Batman Stands in Superman’s Shadow - Art by Kenny Ruiz

You’d think that with Batman and Superman knowing each other’s alter egos they’d pick less conspicuous places to meet than rooftops. Yet that’s almost always where they meet. I guess it makes for a more dramatic looking comic book panel than Superman visiting the Batcave where Bruce Wayne is lounging around in his boxers — or in the case of TDKR, wearing a robe and a depression beard.

Adding to the evidence that it looks damn cool when these two superheroes meet on rooftops is this piece from Kenny Ruiz. There is so much being expressed about these characters, their abilities, and their standing with each other in such a simple way! Zack Snyder, if you’re on the hunt for an iconic interpretation of this matchup to emulate for future Batman Vs. Superman posters… look no further.

Full Scale Millennium Falcon Completed for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII!

I've heard rumors for quite awhile that J.J. Abrams was having a full 1:1 scale model of the Millennium Falcon built for Star Wars: Episode VII. Well, it's looking like those rumors could actually be true! Yahoo is reporting that the ship has actually already been completed! Both inside and out!

"A full-scale 1:1 Millennium Falcon has been built as well as the interiors of the ship for filming. The Falcon is done - inside and out. The sets were built off-site, ready to move when Lucasfilm/Bad Robot were ready to move into Pinewood."

Wow! That is a sight I would love to see! I imagine if they ended up spending all that time and money on building this thing, that they plan on using it in multiple films. It would be even more awesome if it were fully functional!

I love that they actually built the ship at full scale! I have to see this thing in real life before I die.

Maybe one day they will lug it down to San Diego Comic-Con!

Judd Apatow's Next Film Is TRAIN WRECK

Judd Apatow, the director behind The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People, and This is 40, is starting work on his next film project. The movie is called Train Wreck, and according to THR he's currently in the process of casting the film.

As of right now it stars comedian Amy Schumer, who plays "a basket case who tries to rebuild her life, but still to be found are her boyfriend, a best friend/co-worker and a parent."

I really enjoy the films Apatow has made. They are very funny, and they have a certain heart and soul to them that gives them weight and meaning. I'm sure this one will end up being a solid film as well.

"I Am Spartacus!" Starbucks Prank

This is one of the funnest Improve Everywhere "Movies in Real Life" pranks that I've seen so far. A guy walks into a Starbucks, orders a drink, and then tells them his name is Spartacus. When they call out the name in the shop, everyone starts to stand up, saying "I am Spartacus!" just like in the classic Stanley Kubrick directed film. I'm sure you'll enjoy this one!

JURASSIC WORLD Timeframe Revealed

We still don't know much about what director Colin Trevorrow is planning to do with Jurassic World, but he did reveal the timeframe of the film and when it will be set. He was asked the following question on Twitter from @pfcbains916,

"Mr. Trevorrow, everytime I read something, it says JW is a reboot. Please tell us that its not a reboot?! I'm going bonkers!"

Trevarrow responded basically saying the movie is not a reboot, and that it will take place a couple decades after the events of the first film.

"Reboot is a strong word. This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park."

I always thought the movie was going to be a sequel, but fans were thrown off when the original film's star, Sam Neill, said it was going to be a reboot. I'm really excited to see what the story will be, but so far they seem to be putting together a solid cast, which includes Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Josh BrolinBryce Dallas Howard and maybe Jason Schwartzman.

President Obama recently visited DreamWorks Animation where they gave him a demonstration of how Motion Capture works. They also showed him some footage from their upcoming film How to Train Your Dragon 2, and I can't tell if he was actually entertained or not. Jeffrey Katzenberg and director Dean DeBlois were there to give the presentation.

I also included a video of the President meeting Steve Martin and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), who will be voice actors on another upcoming DreamWorks project. Via: Cartoon Brew
