Big BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Movie Rumors - Possible Spoilers

While Zack Snyder is developing his Batman Vs. Superman film, there's a lot of speculation and rumors about what we will end up seeing in the film. We've got a few more rumors for you today regarding some additional characters we might see in the film and how Lex Luthor might be portrayed. There's also some potential scene descriptions. None of this has been confirmed, but just in case, I'm going to throw out a big SPOILER alert!

So here are some points of interest thanks to CBM:

  • The Flash will be in the film, but he will not be in costume for the movie. He will only be seen as Barry Allen.
  • Wonder Woman will also not be seen wearing her costume in this film, and she will only be known as Diana.
  • Apparently WB wants Grant Gustin, who is playing the Flash in the upcoming CW series, to make a cameo as Barry Allen in the film, but that it all depends on how the audience reacts to him when he makes his debut on the small screen later this year.
  • As for Lex Luthor, Synder's version won't be focusing on real estate, like he has in the other Superman films. This time around Lex's motivations will be rooted on his belief that Superman is not good for mankind. The Lex that you will see will resemble the character from Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman
  • Lex is described as being "the pride of Metropolis. The people love him, he's been helping out a lot. Even Lois thinks he's a good guy initially. He is a very smart man and has a lot of charisma."
  • Lex also likes to play around in "fringe" science, and apparently, in one scene Lex will ask his LexCorp scientists if they can recreate Kryptonian armor. Lex says to them, "When the world realizes what he truly is, they will need someone to stand up to him." When one of scientists ask if he is that someone, Lex replies, "Is there any other person who can?"
  • As for Bruce Wayne's love interest in the film, apparently WB is looking to cast an African-American actress for the part. Their inside source claims that "Ben Affleck will be reading with several actresses this very week to see if they have chemistry. This will be a committed relationship, not just a one night stand. It's so serious that she will know Bruce's superhero identity."

So there it is! There's some really interesting and cool stuff there, but let's just wait and see how it all plays out. You never can tell what's real or not, after all, this is the internet. If it does turn out to be true what do you think about the claims that are being made?

Here's a fun behind the scenes photo of J.J. Abrams posing with R2-D2 from the workshop of Star Wars: Episode VII. Bad Robot tweeted out the photo saying "Hi from the workshop!" It's going to be so cool seeing these characters back up on the big screen!

Hugh Jackman Gives Update on WOLVERINE Sequel

It was recently announced that James Mangold is coming back to write and, most likely, direct Hugh Jackman in a sequel to The Wolverine. We really have no idea what to expect, but in a recent interview with EW, Jackman said that he basically revealed all that there is to reveal about it at the moment.

“I was on the phone with Jim Mangold last night. There are some really cool ideas that I’m dying to tell you, but that would be giving away a secret that is not even [fully] formed yet.”

He goes on to discuss how his Wolverine deal currently works with Fox,

“I started with a two-picture deal on the first two [X-Men films], and from that point on, it’s been movie by movie — not just me, but Fox and Jim and everyone. I do want to do it with Jim and with [producer] Lauren Shuler-Donner because we had such a great experience. I’m really proud of The Wolverine.”

Jackman then talks about what drives him to keeping playing Wolverine in the movies,

“I don’t want to dive into another one until we have a compelling reason to do another one. I love the character, he’s kind of like a best friend to me, and I don’t ever want to take [him] or the fans for granted. … I think we’ve got a great opportunity to make something really cool, but it has to be great. That’s what we’re all working toward.”

He apparently didn't feel that way when he made X-Men: Origins Wolverine. But let's just forget that movie happened. I really liked The Wolverine, and I think a sequel could be really cool. I wonder how much longer Jackman will play Logan, and how this next movie will fit in with X-Men: Days of Future Past.

OBDUCTION - New Adventure Game from the Creators of MYST Hits Kickstarter

I enjoy adventure games, especially masterworks like Myst. Playing it again brought back waves of nostalgia and I had so much fun that I played Riven, the direct sequel, immediately afterwards. Riven, while not as good as Myst, is still an amazing adventure game and should be played by anyone who even pretends to enjoy puzzles. It seems like the team that brought us these wonderful gaming experiences are at it again, this time via Kickstarter, with Obduction, an “all-new, real-time, first-person adventure”.

Farmhouse-LG.png

The Kickstarter page claims that Obduction will be built using the same fundamentals that made Myst and Riven so enjoyable. Deep storylines, beautiful environments, and engaging mysteries. Reading through the available info makes me very interested in this project, definitely enough to back it. Currently, Obduction has passed its $1.1 million goal, so the game should be created, but if you want Oculus Rift support or an additional world, you have a little less than two days to back it in hopes of reaching those stretch goals.

Yay, pretty concept art!

Yay, pretty concept art!

The last few adventure games I’ve put time into weren’t really that great, so I am looking forward to Obduction’s release, which is slated for “mid-to-late 2015” for both Windows and Mac. Cyan has made some amazing games in the past. Hopefully this will live up to their legacy.

Batman Vs. Supermans! Kevin Conroy vs. Tim and Sam Daly

The voices of Batman, Superman, and New 52 Superman square off in this hilarious video! It was really bizarre to see Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly speak in person as opposed to in a cartoon! I also had no idea that the voice of Superman had become a legacy! It is super cool to see Tim's son Sam Daly as the voice of the new Superman! See if you can figure out which quotes come from which series!

Siskel and Ebert Defend STAR WARS in Great 1983 Interview

Here's an entertaining 1983 video interview from ABC’s Nightline that features film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert defending George Lucas' Star Wars films. Their opposition in the interview was critic John Simon, who called the films dehumanizing and said that they are not for adult mentalities and that they are brutalizing children. It's actually really funny to hear how this guy felt about the movie. It seems ridiculous that he felt this way about the film. It's great listening to Siskel and Ebert defend the franchise against this guy!

If there's something strange in your neighborhood, I suppose you can make it weirder by calling Doop! Doop would totally win this matchup by the way, but Slimer is a bit of a scrapper and a fan favorite, so it might be a good fight! Interesting crossover, Mike Lloyd!

Warner Bors. has released yet another poster for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It seems like we are getting a new poster for this movie every other day! Expect them to continue until the film's release on December 13th! I'm really looking forward to seeing Legoas and Tauriel kick some ass in the sequel.

MONSTER HIGH Toy Line Coming to the Big Screen

My daughters love the Monster High toy line! They have a pretty big collection of them, so they were crazy excited to hear that the toys are going to get a big screen adaptation.

The film is being written and produced by TV producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who are behind shows such as Gossip Girl and The O.C.. It seems like the perfect film project for them, as I'm sure it will have all the drama they are used to writing, only involving monsters.

The Mattel toy line features the teenage children of classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Abominable Snowman, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, the Wolfman, and more. Basically, the film will follow the trials and tribulations of these high school monster students.

There was a previous attempt to turn Monster High into a film, and it was set up as a musical to be written by Smallville writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. This new version is not going to be a musical.

I'm not sure how this movie will turn out, but there's a huge market out there for it, so I imagine it will be fairly successful.

Extended Spot for Christian Bale's OUT OF THE FURNACE

Check out this intense extended TV spot for Christian Bale's new film, Out of the Furnace, which also stars Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoë Saldana, and Sam Shepard. Harrelson looks freakin' insane in this movie! The movie recently premiered at AFI and has received some solid reviews. It looks like it's going to be a great film.

Russell Baze (Christian Bale) has a rough life: he works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day, and cares for his terminally ill father by night. When Russell’s brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and mysteriously disappears. The police fail to crack the case, so – with nothing left to lose – Russell takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother.

The movie comes from director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), and it will be released on December 6th.

Warner Bros. has released a theatrical poster and two new character posters featuring Chis Pratt as Emmet and Elizabeth Banks as Wyldstyle.

The movie was directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and also stars Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, and Alison Brie.

The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

The movie will be released on February 7th, 2014!

Halloween may already be over, but Mondo posters for any Halloween film are never out of season. This piece for John Carpenter's classic horror film was done by Jock for the "Halloween: 35 Years of Terror" convention. The poster turned out incredibly cool! I love the design.

The event itself is set to take place in Pasadena, California this Friday and Saturday.

The latest clip from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire features Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) taking Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) to the Presidential Palace Party for their Victor Tour. Effie wants them to get their party faces on. The movie will be released later this month on November 22nd.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Here's an amazing Volvo truck commercial featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme pulling off a crazy impressive stunt involving two big-rig trucks going in reverse and the splits.

The commercial is supposed to "demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering," but it just reminds us how much of a badass Van Damme still is.

Extremely Cool Trailer for the Sci-Fi Film THE MACHINE

Where in the hell did this movie come from! Here's the incredibly cool trailer for a badass looking sci-fi action movie called The Machine. I've never heard of this movie until today, but I want to see it! The movie was directed by Caradog James, and this is the synopsis:

With an impoverished world plunged into a Cold War with a new enemy, Britain’s Ministry of Defense is on the brink of developing a game-changing weapon. Lead scientist Vincent McCarthy (Toby Stephens) provides the answer with his creation, ‘The Machine’- an android with unrivalled physical and processing skills. When a programming glitch causes an early prototype to destroy his lab, McCarthy enlists artificial intelligence expert Ava (Caity Lotz) to help him harness the full potential of a truly conscious fighting machine.

Yeah, it sounds interesting, but the trailer you're about to watch is the major selling point. The movie is set to be released in the UK next March. There's no word on when it will be released in the States.

The only thing I have to say about this Star Wars sweatshirt is that it's the ugliest damn Star Wars shirt design I've ever seen. The design comes from Antoni Tudisco, and you might be surprised to hear that it’s currently on backorder, and that orders won’t be shipped until January 10th. If for some reason you do like the sweater and you want to get yourself one, click here. It'll only cost you about $60.

Shawn Levy to Direct Will Smith in CITY THAT SAILED

Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy is set to direct Will Smith in a new adventure film set up at 20th Century Fox called City That Sailed.

According to Deadline, "The story centers on a father and daughter on the island of Manhattan as it breaks loose and sails across the Atlantic Ocean."

This definitely sounds like an interesting film project and something Levy would be good at bringing to life. Smith is always a fun actor to watch up on the big screen, but let's face it... his last movie, After Earth, was a giant turd. Only M. Night Shyamalan could make an actor like Smith look talentless.

The script for it is being written by Audrey Wells (George of the Jungle and The Kid), and production on the film starts early next year.

Cinema Sins is canceling the apocalypse with their latest video which breaks down everything wrong with Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim in 9-minutes or less.

Yeah, there were a lot of mistakes and things that didn't make sense in the movie, but it's giant robots vs. giant monsters, and it was still really freakin' cool to watch!
