Deadpool makes Iron Man his bitch in this hilarious piece of geek art created by DeviantArt user AngryRabbitGmoD called "Deadpool Vs. Iron Man." I'd love to see how a scene like this would actually play out. Someone needs to turn this image into a short film!

AMERICAN HORROR STORY - Behind the Titles Featurette

0
0

One of my favorite things about Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story series is the insanely bizarre title sequences they have. Here's a great behind the scenes video that includes Murphy and title designer Kyle Cooper explaining the objective behind the creepy sequences. It mostly focuses on American Horror Story: Asylum, but it also teases what's coming in American Horror Story: Coven. In it Murphy says,

"I've always been obsessed with main titles, I really feel like it's an art form. It tells you what the viewing experience ahead is going to be.

"You have to watch it 10 times because every frame is a clue for what the season will be, and every year it has a different tone, look and concept. By the last frame of the main title, for Coven, you'll really have an idea of what the last frame of the Coven season will be."

Full Trailer for the Sci-Fi Action Film DIVERGENT

Summit Entertainment has released the first full trailer for the upcoming futuristic sci-fi action film, Divergent. The studio hopes that this film will spark another successful franchise like The Hunger Games, but I doubt it will be as successful. Regardless of the cast, the movie looks mediocre. I'm sure I'll end up watching the movie, just because I enjoy watching movies, and maybe there's a chance it will be entertaining.

The movie was directed by Neil Burger, and it stars Shailene Woodley,  Theo James, Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, and Zoë Kravitz, among others.

The film comes out on March 21st, 2014. Watch the trailer for yourself, and let us know if you think this will be a new big franchise for the studio.

Based on Veronica Roth’s #1 New York Times best-selling novel, DIVERGENT is a gripping action thriller set in a futuristic world where society has been divided into five factions. As each person approaches adulthood, he or she must choose a faction and commit to it for the rest of their life. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) chooses Dauntless—the daring risk-takers who pursue bravery above all else. During the Dauntless initiation, Tris completes death-defying stunts and faces her inmost fears in spectacular simulations. When she discovers she is a Divergent, someone who will never be able to fit into just one faction, she is warned that she must conceal this secret or risk her life. As Tris uncovers a looming war which threatens her family and the life of the mysterious Dauntless leader whom she has come to love, Tris must face her greatest test yet—deciding whether revealing she is a Divergent will save her world—or destroy it.

Six Alternate Outfits Considered for Matt Smith's DOCTOR WHO

The Doctor has had some pretty cool outfits over the years, and it will be interesting to see what Peter Capaldi will look like as the twelfth Doctor. While we wait to see what his official look will be, here's a set of photos showing us six alternate versions of the Doctor Who outfits that Matt Smith ended up in.

I like the outfit Smith wore, but it's cool to see what could have been. Apparently it was Smith's idea to have a bow tie because he admired Patrick Troughton's Second Doctor. Out of these outfits, which one do you like the most?

Tony Jaa to Join FAST AND FURIOUS 7

Ong Bak star Tony Jaa is in talks to join James Wan's Fast and Furious 7! There's no word on what the story will be about this time around, or who Jaa will be playing, but I imagine they will utilize his badass Thai martial arts skills! This will be Jaa's first English language studio film, and it would be a good one for him to be involved with.

If he signs on to the movie he will join Jason Statham, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and the rest of the usual suspects. Jaa had this to say in a statement,

"I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production."

When asked if he was looking forward to going against Diesel or Johnson, and who would win in a fight, Jaa said,

"Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock already makes me a winner."

What do you all think about Jaa joining up for some Fast and Furious action!

Awesome Sci-Fi Animated Short - THE GUARDIANS TALE

Here's another awesome animated short film for you to watch! This movie is called The Guardians Tale, and it's kind of like a sci-fi version of Beauty and the Beast, but with a great dark twist to it. I loved the story, and it's told incredibly well. The art and animation are also absolutely beautiful. Here's the synopsis:

On a lonely alien planet shrouded in mystery, an ominous beast guards a powerful treasure. One day he receives an unexpected guest - A seemingly innocent girl crash lands on his world. The two will forge an unusual friendship, and teach one another that looks can indeed be deceiving.

The film was co-directed by Gordy Higgins, Ryan Zujic, and Christoffer Klungerbo. I hope you enjoy it!

WORLD'S FINEST - Batman and Superman Fan-Made Movie Poster

Check out this nice piece of fan-made art for a World's Finest movie starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. The actual Man of Steel sequel is supposed to be more of a Batman Vs. Superman film, inspired by Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. The poster was created by BlackJack10 (via CBM).

Here's some information on the poster from the guy who put it together:

Affleck in the Batsuit was made by rcazzy from SuperHeroHype. Cavill is an un-used Man Of Steel promo image. Background is just a random storm that was brightened up with after effects all logos are just random google searches that have been re-rendered or colored.

DESTINY ViDoc and Details From GamesCom

0
0

During GamesCom we have been inundated with information about a huge range of games, some more interesting than others. A particularly interesting nugget of information is about Destiny, Bungie’s latest game-changer. What we already knew about Destiny is that is was going to be a multiplayer, FPS-RPG, think a more serious Borderlands with significantly more online content. A few of the early trailers and interviews seemed to suggest it would end up as an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online game, think World of Warcraft), but Bungie denied that it would be, and the latest GamesCom news backs up that sentiment. The following is a trailer Bungie debuted at GamesCom and a fact sheet Activision released.

Key Features:
  • Brave New Worlds – Destiny will instantly draw players into a universe of heroes and legends, with worlds and storytelling crafted by Bungie, the creators of Halo – one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed entertainment franchises of all time.
  • Your Legend – In Destiny you create your own legend as you and your friends venture out into the solar system to reclaim the treasures and secrets lost after the collapse of our Golden Age. Over the course of your adventures you become more powerful, able to wield rare and exotic weapons, gear, and powers.
  • A Connected Universe – Destiny is more than a disc in a drive, it is a persistent online universe filled with other players. As the story grows and expands over time, so do the destinations you can access, the activities you experience, and the rewards you can earn.
  • A Social Experience – Destiny’s many destinations will feature areas called Public Spaces where players journeying solo or with friends will seamlessly cross paths with other players and Fireteams, some on similar missions, others engaging in completely different activities.
  • – Public Events – Contained within some of Destiny’s public spaces are realtime dynamic events that players and Fireteams in the area can choose to engage in. These Public Events are short skirmishes where multiple players work together to defeat their common enemies and collect awesome loot.
  • Classes: Destiny features three unique classes to choose from, each with their own custom looks and abilities. Players will be able to crush their enemies as a Titan, vanquish foes as a crafty Hunter, or unleash incredible arcane energies on any adversary as a Warlock.
  • – Titan – The first Titans built the Wall, and gave their lives to defend it. Now, you stand in the same high place, steadfast and sure, protecting all who shelter in your shadow. You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you.
  • – Hunter – Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You’re no outlaw—at least, not anymore—but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules. Your unique brand of daring and ingenuity is needed now more than ever.
  • – Warlock – Warlocks have long studied the Traveler, mastering some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown. Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age.
  • Adventure Awaits – Personalize and upgrade every aspect of how you look and fight with an expansive combination of armor, weapons, and visual customizations. Take it all with you into every mode, including Destiny’s story, competitive multiplayer, and public combat destinations. Return to The City, Destiny’s third person social space to rearm and repair before going out on your next adventure.
(Thanks to vg247.com for the info.)

The public already knew quite a bit of this information and Bungie loves to reuse the same game footage in every video they release, but there are some very intriguing tidbits. The trailer talks about character race, something which has been mentioned in passing in previous development videos, but has never been officially announced. The possibility of multiple player races is even missing from the factsheet, which just talks about classes. This could mean that either Bungie is trying to keep the player races under wraps, or it is a feature that was scrapped early on, yet the developers keep talking about it (or the footage that mentions races was filed a long time ago).

The main feature that is compelling to me is the seamless multiplayer experience. The way it is described in the new trailer, with the ability to suddenly walk into public events or group up with friends or strangers with no matchmaking, definitely sounds like an MMO, but Bungie insists it is different. I am glad they point out that it is possible to play solo as well, because as much as I enjoy co-op gaming, sometimes you want to just take off on your own.

So far Destiny is announced for the PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in 2014, but there are rumors floating around that it may see a PC release later. I hope so, because I prefer to play FPS games on my PC rather than a console.

Jackass Presents: BAD GRANDPA Poster

I've been seeing the trailer for Johnny Knoxville's Bad Grandpa a lot in theaters recently, and it's been getting a great reaction from audiences. This new Jackass movie is going to be another big hit.

In the film Knoxville plays an 86-year-old vulgar grandpa named Irving Zisman, who we've seen before in the previous Jackass films putting real people in some ridiculously uncomfortable situations. The movie looks like it's going to be hilarious, and here's the synopsis,

86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.

Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.
Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.

The movie hits theaters on October 25th! If you want to watch the trailer again, click here

IRON MAN 3 - The Mandarin's Explosive Alternate Ending Animatic

Here are some really cool storyboard animatics that were created by artist Federico D'Alessandro for Marvel's Iron Man 3, one of which gives us a look at an explosive alternate ending for Ben Kingsley's Mandarin! All of the animatics take place on the oil rig at the end of the film, and there are also a couple of version of Rhodey's dash across the rig. I hope you enjoy these!

New Photo From MACHETE KILLS with Sofia Vergara, Alexa Vega, and Elle LaMont

We've got another photo from Robert Rodriguez's upcoming Grindhouse sequel, Machete Kills. The image features three of the deadly women in the film that includes Sofia Vergara, Alexa Vega, and Elle LaMont, and it's looking like they're about to kick some serious ass. It wouldn't be the worst thing to be on the receiving end of this ass-kicking.

Danny Trejo leads the ensemble cast that also includes Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr.Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Edward James Olmos, William Sadler, Mark Zaror, Demián Bichir, and  Charlie Sheen a.k.a. Carlos Estevez

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

The movie comes out on September 13th, 2013. If you want to watch the latest trailer for the movie, click here

Peter Jackson And Stephen Moffat Set Up An Odd Deal For Doctor Who

0
0

A recent interview with Metro revealed that director Peter Jackson may be directing a future episode of Doctor Who ! The conditions themselves are actually quite odd, as Stephen Moffat states below.

‘He’s serious about it,’ he admitted. ‘We talked about it at the Hobbit premiere – he just wants a Dalek.

‘So we’ll give him a Dalek and he’ll direct an episode. I think he’d like us to go to New Zealand.’

So Jackson gets a Dalek and creative control over the location of the episode, and Moffat gets the famous director to helm an episode. Sound like a fair enough bargain? I think so!

MASS EFFECT: FOUNDATION #2 - Krogan's Night Out

0
0

Foundation's initial issue was all about origins and where characters, such as the main character Rasa, started. Issue 2 however is quite the opposite of that, and starts to solidify its tie to the Mass Effect universe. The missing ingredient was everyone's favorite krogan, Wrex. Issue 1 was solid overall, but only felt connected due to its numerous references, while 2 feels as if it stepped out of the game due to how familiar Mac Walters is in writing Wrex. His voice is pitch perfect, so much so that when he calls someone a stunted pyjak I hear Steven Barr's voice. Urdnot splits the book with Rasa and Kai leng, who, surprise surprise, is just as much of a tool in the books as he was in the games. Seeing Rasa interact with Wrex, even in the from afar way its done for most of the issue, was the highlight, and by issue's end you get the feeling that it's not the last we'll see of him, and that can only be a good thing. Now that I've completed citadel (something I had not done when issue 1 came out), Rasa becomes a much richer character, and I'm excited to see how the character got there to where she ends up.

Art wise, Tony Parker did an outstanding job on the issue overall, and was truly born to illustrate krogans. Wrex's scenes, and the action in general, jump right off the page, but when it comes to drawing human characters the art isn't always as polished. There are multiple examples of panels with humans looking a bit awkward, especially when it comes to their facial expressions. Not a huge deal, especially for players of the games, who are known to witness some crazy graphical facial issues, but just something that stuck out to me.

I'm enjoying Foundation, and as I've just wrapped up my third play through of Mass Effect 3, its nice to have something of quality in the Mass Effect universe to sink my teeth into. Here's hoping it continues its upward climb.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's DON JON - New TV Spot

0
0

Here's the first TV spot for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's romantic comedy Don Jon, and it features Scarlett Johansson teasing the hell out of Gordon-Levitt's character.

This was a fantastic film that I'm sure a lot of people are going to enjoy watching. It's a great mix of comedy, drama, romance, and social satire. You can read our review of the film here and watch our video review here

Don Jon also stars Julianne Moore and Tony Danza, and it opens in theaters on October 18th, 2013. If you haven't seen the full trailer for the movie yet, click here to check it out.

Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old-fashioned guy. His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to “pull” a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn’t compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old-fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she’s determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old-fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD - Two International Posters

We saw these two images last week as part of Empire Magazine's cover art, but now they have been given the movie poster touch. The posters feature Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and they are both pretty badass images. I can't wait to see these two go at it again, you know they will, and there's a chance that Loki will have an upper hand this time around.

The movie is set to be released on November 8th!

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

It's no secret that J.J. Abrams is prepping to shoot Star Wars: Episode VII at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. early next year. Thanks to our friends at Latino Review, we now know that the movie will start shooting on January 21st, 2014. They also confirm a previously released rumor that the movie will end up being released around Christmas time in 2015.

The information on this movie is still very minimal. There are a lot of recent rumors though, that include Ewan McGregor will reprising his role as Obi Wan Kenobi, and that Ian McDiarmid  returning as a ghost version of Emperor Palpatine. It was also announced the movie would be shot on film, not digitally. Then of course the original main members of the cast are expected to return.

It will be nice when we finally get some actual solid confirmation of what is going on with this movie and who will be in it.

I have to admit that it would be my dream to actually get to go and visit the set of this movie during production. Episodes eight and nine are expected to hit theaters in 2016 and 2017.
