Check out this great piece of poster art Edgar Wright‘s new sci-fi comedy adventure, The World’s End. As you can see, it features the severed head of of a blue blooded alien robot being smashed between two pints. This movie looks awesome, and I love this poster art!

The story follows five friends, played by Simon PeggNick FrostPaddy ConsidineMartin Freeman, and Eddie Marsan, as they reunite to complete an epic pub crawl they failed to finish twenty years ago. In the process, they find themselves caught in the middle of trying to survive some kind of crazy alien robot invasion. The trailer is full of fun new action-packed footage that also gives you a better sense of what the movie is about.

You have to watch this incredibly well-made CG animated western called "Little Tombstone." The amount of detail put into it is amazingly impressive! It's obviously inspired by the classic Clint Eastwood film The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

In a small town in the Far-West, the Good and the Bad, challenge each other to show-down. The Undertaker takes some interest in the show-down between the opponents..

The movie was directed by Azais FrédéricDi Malta ThéoLeymonerie Benjamin, and Quillet Adrien.

Pacific Rim Didn't Do All that Well in Japan, China Making Sequel Possible

A recent Variety article shows that Pacific Rim   isn't doing as well in Japan as it was expected to. Its opening weekend (10th and 11th of August) only yielded $3.04 million. This isn't as bad as it seems, however, as most other movies on the list only pulled in slightly more (and we're talking decimals here), as the reigning champion of cinema for the past four weeks remains Hayao Miyazaki, whose new film The Wind Rises  has netted a total of $54 million total in Japan alone.

Now before we sound the horns and bring out the save-this-movie Jaegers, the film is continuing to dominate in China, grossing $79 million total in two weekends despite competition from Chinese franchises!  $50 million in China was a big factor in whether or not Warner would discuss a sequel for the film, and with the extra money being a buffer for Japanese audiences, all we have to wait on are Brazil's numbers before we learn the fate of the sequel. Really, all it would take though is one more strong weekend in China and the sequel is pretty much a sure thing! Who's pumped?!

What If STAR WARS: EPISODE II Were Good? Video Presentation

Here's a great video presentation by belated media that gives us a hypothetical look at George Lucas' Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones... if it were actually a good movie. The video is extremely well done, and the points that they make are spot on. All of the Star Wars prequel films could have been great with a lot of tweaking like what is presented to us here. Check it out!

Incredible Cinematic Trailer for THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT - "Killing Monsters"

I know you all want to see something amazing today, so here's a cinematic trailer for the upcoming video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It's called "Killing Monsters" and it was created by CD Projekt RED. It gives us our first glimpse "into the morally ambiguous universe of Geralt of Rivia. "

I'm not familiar with this game franchise, but holy shit this trailer just blew me away with its awesomeness! I just want to see this as a whole film, but you can bet your ass that when it's released I'm going to play the hell out of it.

According to the developer, this cinematic short "portrays the cruel and gritty world of The Witcher and foreshadows the mature mood of the upcoming story-driven RPG."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2014. Now watch the trailer!

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE - New International Trailer

Damn, this movie looks awesome, and here's a new international trailer to prove it! There's some cool new footage in the trailer that you should enjoy. The stuff they showed at Comic-Con is what really put me over the edge of excitement for this movie though. It looks like it will be better than the first, and I really enjoyed the first one!

Noam Murro is directing the film from a screenplay written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad. It's based on the graphic novel Xerxes by Frank Miller.

It's set to be released on August 2nd, 2013.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, “300: Rise of an Empire.” The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton (Gangster Squad) as Themistokles and Eva Green (Dark Shadows, Casino Royale) as Artemisia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from 300 as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans) stars as Aeskylos; David Wenham returns as Dilios, and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

Bill Nighy Turned Down Doctor Who

Bill Nighy told Express UK that he was offered the role of the 12th Doctor. The actor obviously turned down the offer, saying this...

"... I didn't want to be the Doctor. No disrespect to Doctor Who or anything, I just think that it comes with too much baggage."

When asked about Peter Capaldi, he had nothing but positive things to say!

"He's a marvelous actor. He'll be very good as the Doctor. He'll bring a lot of wit and dry humour. He's elegant and he looks great."

Nighy being 63 and Capaldi being 55 clearly show the casting was headed towards an older Doctor moving forward. Such a jump though between just those two actors? Nighy is a great actor and all, but I'm not looking for another William Hartnell type for the upcoming season. Capaldi may be aged, but he has spunk, plus he's awesome in just about everything. Are you disappointed knowing Nighy was first choice?

Funny Sundance Comedy Short - THE CUB

Here's a great comedy short called The Cub that I think some of you will enjoy. The short was directed by Riley Stearns, and I loved it. The first time I saw it was up at the Sundance Film Festival.

It's the story of a five-year-old whose parents take her out into the woods where they turn her over to a pack of wolves where she will learn “strength, self-reliance, and cunning behavior." Ten years later her parents will return for her.

The short is very simple,  but it's done extremely well. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks to Vice!

Disney has released the first trailer and poster for their new Disneynature film, Bears. I actually really enjoy these films. They are done extremely well, they are entertaining, and some of the proceeds go to a good cause. This movie follows a mother bear and her cubs on the adventure of life, and it was captured in Alaska’s Katmai National Park.

The movie will be released on April 18th, 2014. Watch the trailer below which includes music from Phillip Phillips

Vin Diesel to Star in New Sci-Fi Film SOLDIERS OF THE SUN

Vin Diesel is set to star in a new original sci-fi film called Soldiers of the Sun. Universal Pictures just picked up a spec script from Arash Amel (Grace of Monaco), and it sounds like it could be a fun flick.

The movie is set in a post-apocalyptic future and focuses on a squad of soldiers that searches for a fabled city of gold while on a tour of duty in Mexico liberating it from an alien race known as Orcs.

Of course everyone involved is hoping that the movie turns out awesome enough that they can turn it into a new original franchise. Diesel has a solid relationship with Universal by working with them on the The Fast and Furious and Riddick franchises.

Darren Aronofsky to Direct Espionage Film RED SPARROW?

It looks like Darren Aronofsky is going to have another film project lined up after he finishes his Biblical epic Noah. According to Deadline, the director is in early talks to direct a feature film adaptation of the book Red Sparrow. It's an espionage thriller that was written Jason Matthews, and here's what the story is about.

The book is set in contemporary Russia, and state intelligence officer Dominika Egorova struggles to survive in the cast-iron bureaucracy of post-Soviet intelligence. Drafted against her will to become a “Sparrow,” a trained seductress in the service, Dominika is assigned to operate against Nathaniel Nash, a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young intelligence officers collide in a charged atmosphere of trade craft, deception, and inevitably, a sexual attraction that threatens their careers and the security of America’s valuable mole in Moscow. Dominika winds up seeking revenge against her soulless masters, and living a fatal double life after she is recruited by the CIA to ferret out a high-level traitor in Washington. She also hunts down a Russian illegal buried deep in the U.S. military and, against all odds, to return to Moscow as the new-generation penetration of Vladimir Putin’s intelligence service.

Aronofsky is a crazy talented director, and this seems like it would be a really cool project for him to take on. Hopefully everything works out, because I'd like to see him do this one.

Superheroes Introducing Themselves - Video Supercut

Here's a new video from Screen Junkies that features several scenes from films in which superheroes introduce themselves. If you think about it, it's got to be a little weird for superheroes to introduce themselves the way they do. How do they know people are actually going to take them seriously? I would think in real life, they would get laughed at a lot.

Here's the superhero roll call, which was edited together by Louis Plamondon.

Trailer for HBO's MUHAMMAD ALI'S GREATEST FIGHT

HBO has released the first trailer for a new film they have made called Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight. It tells the story of Ali's Supreme Court battle to stay out of the Vietnam War.

If you're not familiar with the backstory, the boxer was drafted in the ’60s but he refused to go due to his religion and went on to declare himself a conscientious objector. Because of those actions, he was convicted of draft evasion and his title and boxing license were taken away from him. He went on to appeal the conviction which ended up in the Supreme Court, which is where the movie picks up.

It stars Christopher PlummerFrank Langella, and Danny Glover, who play some of the Supreme Court justices. Ali is not played by any actor in the film. The filmmakers got really clever, and the boxing legend only appears in archival footage. Here's the synopsis:

MUHAMMAD ALI’S GREATEST FIGHT looks at Muhammad Ali’s historic Supreme Court battle from behind closed doors. When Ali was drafted into the Vietnam War at the height of his boxing career, his claim to conscientious objector status led to a controversial legal battle that rattled the U.S. judicial system right up to the highest court in the land.

The movie will premiere sometime in the fall. Check out the trailer!

New Trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's DON JON

Fans of Joseph Gordon-Levitt are sure to love his new movie Don Jon, which as you may have heard, he not only stars in but also directed. We saw the movie at Sundance, and it was pretty damn funny, and a really solid film. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Gordon-Levitt does next as a directing project.

The movie also stars Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, and Tony Danza. You can read our review of the film here, and watch our video review here

Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old-fashioned guy. His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to “pull” a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn’t compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old-fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she’s determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old-fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Don Jon opens in theaters on September 27th, 2013.

ASSASSINS CREED IV: BLACK FLAG - Stealth Developer Walkthrough Is so Much More

While we've already had a chance to see a pretty healthy dose of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag gameplay, the developers decided that wasn't enough, and have released a Stealth-focused gameplay trailer to give us a look at how exploring some of the underwater locales for treasure and loot works. Something that stuck out right away was that to go under you have to go sans weapons, which puts more focus on the stealth mechanics when exploring, at least at first anyway (you can disarm guards or pick up their weapons eventually, but at least at the beginning it's promoted). About halfway through they decide to spotlight some of the additional options available to Mr. Edward Kenway, and the gameplay just seems to get more refined each time we see it. Here's hoping that IV doesn't have the bugs and glitches that plagued AC:3 for the first few months of release, because as it stands, the game looks fantastic.

I still find myself watching reruns of Seinfeld every day! I love that show, and one of my favorite things about the series is the fake movies that they came up with throughout the series.

Next Movie created an awesome series of poster art for the films as they might look in 2013. Some of them actually look like they could be really entertaining! Check out the posters, and let us know which of these movies you actually wouldn't mind seeing for real!

It required a little bit of editing, but other than that, I think the creator of this YouTube video found the perfect scene from Super Friends to mash with Training Day.  It's hard to explain really. You just have to watch and laugh as this villain finds himself screwed over, much like Denzel.

INSIDIOUS Coming to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

I love Halloween, and Universal Studios always puts on a great event for their Halloween Horror Nights. It was recently announced that this year they will be bringing James Wan's Insidious to life in the form of one of their creepy mazes. Here are all of the details on it!

The unsettling story of the Lambert family is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Halloween Horror Nights,” as “Insidious: Into The Further” transports guests to a dark realm where malevolent souls and demonic entities exist in the tormented existence of their past lives. Based on the 2010 horror thriller Insidious and the upcoming sequel Insidious: Chapter 2, the haunted attraction joins the highly anticipated line-up of terrifying mazes at the award-winning Halloween event, opening September 20.
The nightmare journey focuses on the evil spirit that has haunted the Lambert clan for two generations. Maze-goers will travel into the world of the dead to confront the malicious souls hell-bent on bringing suffering to the living.
“To bring the paranormal world of ‘Insidious’ to life, we’re collaborating with the film’s director James Wan, writer/co-star Leigh Whannell and producer Jason Blum, who all happen to be huge fans of our Halloween event,” said “Halloween Horror Nights” Creative Director John Murdy. “It’s an incredible opportunity to partner with filmmakers who share our passion for bringing nightmares of the silver screen to life and who are committed to making every scene and every nuance of the maze as authentic and unsettling as their film.”
The “Insidious: Into The Further” terror begins even before guests enter the maze, as paranormal investigators ‘Tucker’ and ‘Specs’ anxiously forewarn them about the evil that lurks within. Visitors soon learn that the pair’s caution should have been heeded, as they traverse through the most frightening scenes from both films.
“This attraction takes guests through the utter horror of both ‘Insidious’ and ‘Insidious: Chapter 2’,” said director Wan. “The Lipstick Demon, The Long-Haired Fiend and the victims he murdered – they all come together in a perfect storm within the maze. In fact, I think this maze is the closest you can come to experiencing the kind of fear portrayed in our films without actually living through it yourself.”
The famed horror team of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell reunite with the original cast of Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey and Ty Simpkins in INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, a terrifying sequel to the acclaimed horror film, which follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world. Insidious: Chapter 2 opens in theaters nationwide Friday, September 13th.
“Halloween Horror Nights” 2013 at Universal Studios Hollywood brings together the sickest minds in horror to immerse guests in a living, breathing, three-dimensional world of terror and offers a slate of unrivaled film production quality mazes, Scare Zones and “Terror Tram” experience – all uniquely themed to today’s most definitive horror properties. This year’s haunted attractions will also include: “The Walking Dead: No Safe Haven,” based on AMC’s Golden Globe-nominated, Emmy Award-winning TV show; “Evil Dead: Book of the Dead,” inspired by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s chilling remake of the cult classic; and “Black Sabbath: 13 3D,” inspired by the darkest lyrics from the multi-platinum rock band’s 43-year history of heavy metal music.

During a recent interview with Jurassic Cast (via Bleeding Cool), Jurassic Park 4 director Colin Trevorrow discussed a few things about his upcoming film, such as why he decided to take the job, and addressed some of the plot rumors that have been floating around.

"It’s important to make a movie for the fans, but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too.”

As for the plot rumors, he said,

“I saw some of the rumours on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex. So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.”

I love that last thing he said, "There are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.” It's so true! He then addresses the possibility of bringing composer John Williams back to score the film, saying,

“Do I love John Williams and all of his music? Of course.”

Williams is an amazing composer, and I love his Jurassic Park score. It would be a shame if he didn't come back, but I'm sure they'd take him if they could get him.

Trevorrow will direct the film from a script written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The plan is to shoot it in 3D, and it looks like it's going to be released in 2015.
