Last night's episode of Dexter sure did end on an interesting note. Just when I think the show is going in one direction, it goes in the complete opposite, and I love that about this final season. I have no idea what is going to happen next! The sixth episode is called "A Little Reflection," and here's a promo for it showing you what's in store. How are you liking this final season so far?

Jamie Foxx Wants to Star in SPAWN Reboot

Over the last several years, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has been talking about making another Spawn film. He's shared a lot of ideas about what he wants to do with it, and it sounds great! He's also talked about an Oscar winning actor that wanted to be a part of it. McFarlane would never say who that actor was, but we assumed it was Jamie Foxx. Well, Foxx has confirmed that he is the guy, and that he's "aggressively pursuing" the project.

During a interview with Movies.com, Foxx was asked about other roles he would like to take on and this was his response:

"Spawn is one, yeah. And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them."

I would love to see Foxx take on Spawn! I think he would be great in the role, and I hope one day it will happen.

The only problem is the guy has been dragging his feet with it. It seems like at this point we are waiting for McFarlane to finish the script. Earlier this year he said,

"I continue to write a page here and there. As I’ve said before, I’ve got a guy waiting on the sidelines who’s an Academy Award-winning actor who phones every three weeks going ‘Todd, where’s the script? Where’s the script?’… He came out to the office, he gave me his pitch, I gave him my pitch, and he’s like ‘Fine, let’s do your gig.’ The pitch I gave him was that we could then do, like, ten of these for the next ten years, and he wouldn’t have to be 22 for the rest of his life."

Unfortunately, at the rate McFarlane is going on this film it's probably never going to happen. He's been talking about this thing since 2008.

If it does actually happen, what do you think about Foxx taking on the lead role?

Eddie Murphy Officially Set for BEVERLY HILLS COP 4

Last week TV series producer Shawn Ryan said that his Beverly Hills Cop TV show wasn't picked up by CBS, but also said that Paramount Pictures was looking to develop another feature film.

The studio seems to be moving fast on the project, as they've locked Eddie Murphy in to reprise his role as Alex Foley, and they've hired Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec to write the script.

The Beverly Hills Cop franchise is great, and I hope that this fourth film will actually bring back the hilarious comedy style of the Eddie Murphy from the '80s. I hate the movies he makes these days. I'm sure the studio will go and make it a mediocre PG-13 comedy though. I'll be surprised if they allow it to get an 'R' rating.

How do you think the fourth installment of this movie will turn out?

Short Plot Summary for Johnny Depp's TRANSCENDENCE

I'm excited for Johnny Depp's new sci-fi film, Transcendence. It sounds like it could be pretty insane. We've had a pretty basic idea of what this movie is about, but there's a new short plot summary that gives us a little bit more of what we can expect to see in happen in the story. Here it is thanks to Screen Crush:

Will Caster, forefather of A.I., has his consciousness uploaded onto the internet.
Once there, is it really Will who is interacting with humanity in order to make things better, or a darker sinister clone bent on the termination of the world as we know it?

It gives us a little more mystery, which is great. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan's cinematographer, Wally Pfister. Nolan is producing, and it also stars Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, Clifton Collins Jr., Kate Mara, and Paul Bettany.

RIDDICK - Cool Prequel Motion Comic

I think the new Riddick movie looks awesome, and if you're looking forward to it as much as I am, then you might want to check out this new motion comic recently released on IGN. It basically bridges the gap between Chronicles of Riddick and the upcoming film. Vin Diesel reprises his role in the comic, and it turned out to be a really interesting story. I suggest you check it out, as I'm sure we'll see elements of this story in the upcoming film, which comes out on September 6th!

The David Twohy-directed also stars Karl Urban, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo, and Nolan Gerard Funk.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

The villain that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will be facing off against in season 3 of Sherlock has been revealed! Above you have your first look at Lars Mikkelsen as Charles Augustus Magnussen. The reveal comes from producer Sue Vertue in a tweet.

I haven't heard of Charles Augustus Magnussen before, but I think it is a different version of the Arthur Conan Doyle character Charles Augustus Milverton, also known as the “king of the blackmailers” from the story "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton."

Sherlock returns to the US in early 2014 and should hit the UK later this year. Make sure to check out our coverage of the Comic-Con panel for Sherlock here for more information on what's in store for the fans!

CBS Gives UNDER THE DOME a Second Season

I don't know about you, but I've actually been enjoying Steven Spielberg and Stephen King's Under the Dome series. I'm happy to report that that CBS has officially greenlit a second season that will premiere next summer. They also announced that King will write the the first episode of season 2. Brian K. Vaughan of LOST has been developing the series, and he seems to be doing a great job.

Have you enjoyed this series, and are you happy to hear that it's getting a second season?

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.
Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a selectwoman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.

Thanks to Deadline for the heads up.

Red-Band Trailer for the Crazy Looking Film CHEAP THRILLS

Check out this insane red-band trailer for an interesting looking thriller called Cheap Thrills. The movie was directed by E.L. Katz and stars Ethan Embry and Pat Healy as a couple of guys who need cash and are up for doing some pretty insane stuff to get it. The movie also stars David Koechner and Sara Paxton as a rich couple who pay the two friends to participate in a crazy game of one-upmanship that quickly runs off the rails.

The movie has gotten decent reviews, and all of them that I've read say that it's extremely violent and very bloody. This is a very red-band trailer, so I suggest you don't watch it at work.

Trailer For SyFy's New COSPLAY Reality Series

The SyFy Channel has released a promo trailer for their new reality series, Heroes of Cosplay. The series follows a group of cosplayers and gives us a behind the scenes look at what goes into the creation of the costumes. Even though I don't do it myself, I'm a big fan of cosplay. These people put a lot of time and effort into their costumes, and now there's a show dedicated to them, which is pretty cool.

Here's a synopsis for the series:

Heroes of Cosplay is a tantalizing docu-series that lifts the veil on the imaginative world of cosplay competition, because fans at the comic book conventions don't merely dress up as their favorite character; they also compete to see who's the best!

It looks like a decent show, and I'll be checking it out. It's a six-part series that premieres on Tuesday, August 13th. If you're a cosplayer, what do you think of a series like this?

Update on Arnold Schwarzenegger's LEGEND OF CONAN

Out of all the projects that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a part of right now, Legend of Conan is my most anticipated. The more I hear about the movie the more excited I get, and make no mistake this movie is going to happen!

We have a new update on the film thanks to The Arnold Fans. They talked to CEO Fredrik Malmberg of Paradox Entertainment, who is the property owner of Conan, and he provided some updates on the film saying,

”We're doing the script and it's by the whole 'Fast and the Furious' team, which is great for a power position of the studio because they're extremely successful - it was the biggest movie and if anyone knows how to build a franchise, it is that team. It's Chris Morgan and Jeffery Kirschenbaum, the head of Universal. Arnold is very excited. It's just in the phase where it takes a lot of work to get the script just right. “

When asked if the movie was 100% happening, he said,

"Oh, It's happening. We have a great story. Everyone loves it. This is a role that's perfect for him (Arnold) and he's very involved with the whole Universal team. It's the best team they have. Arnold has been very instrumental to being this together saying, 'We gotta make a good Conan!' I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after. I think Game of Thrones also shows a huge interest in fantasy. I'm psyched about it."

As for how the movie fits in with the previous two movies,

“The idea is that this takes place AFTER Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, 'do you remember the good ol' days when Conan was around?' And now it's time for him to come back. In the stories and you can also see it when he's sitting on the thrown and the narration on that last scene of the movie..."with a troubled brow" ...you can tell he's not really happy being king. So, it's time for him to go out and do battle.”

He then goes on to explains that they want this to be the first of a new series of Conan films being planned,

“That's what we hope. In fact Arnold, judging by other classic actors like Eastwood who's in his 80s, he still looks badass. I think if this film is good and is well received, then I don't think we have to say NO to Arnold for several more movies. We can keep going forward, even after he ages."

With the way screenwriter Chris Morgan previously explained the character, they really could keep this franchise going. This seriously could be more badass than the original Conan films. Here's what he said,

"I want the warrior whose joints have started to fuse together, who has to crack the cartilage so he can pick up a sword again. I want the guy who’s not necessarily lost a step, but there’s some rust he has to shake off. I want to embrace that. It makes it a greater hero story.
Conan needs to be faced with challenges. The greatest challenge to him isn’t the armies that are set before him. It’s, on some level, self-doubt, a little bit of slowing down and forcing yourself to be heroic beyond what people expect of you. What I don’t want is for him to step back in and look the same. That would defeat the purpose of our story. "

Good things are happening with this movie, and I can't wait to see it up on the big screen! What are your thoughts on what this team is doing with Legend of Conan

This is the Pinky Pie themed proton pack, and it was created by prop-builder Judson Hudson for a friend of his. Not only does it look cool, but it also includes custom lights and sound effects. Jeff Wadlow Discusses His X-FORCE Movie Plans

$

0

We recently told you that Kick-Ass 2 writer and director Jeff Wadlow is working on the script for an X-Force movie at Fox. The last we heard he was deep into it and had the story completely worked out. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Wadlow gives an update on his plans for the film saying,

"What ‘X-Force’ is – the way I talk about ‘X-Force’ is… ‘X-Men’ is about mutants, and not all the mutants get into the mansion. So I’m curious to tell a story about the mutants who don’t make it into the mansion."

He goes on to talk about the characters that he's obviously looking to include in the movie.

"Look, I’m a huge Deadpool fan, who doesn’t love Wolverine – but obviously Cable is an iconic character we haven’t seen onscreen yet. I love Psylocke, Domino is an amazing character – it’s a long list of characters that have appeared in ‘X-Force’ – Colossus is in the current lineup… There’s a lot of really exciting characters that you can use in ‘X-Force’ that have been in other movies, that haven’t shown up, or maybe there’s ways to re-imagine them, even though they might’ve shown up in other films."

I hope this movie actually ends up going into development. I'd love to see what Wadlow has envisioned for it.
