Abigail Breslin Joins Schwarzenegger in MAGGIE Zombie Film

Abigail Breslin, from Zombieland, is going back into zombie territory with a new film called Maggie, in which she will star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger

The story is set in a time when a zombie virus has spread across the country. Schwarzenegger will play the father of a young girl named Maggie (Breslin) who is infected with the virus and slowly turns into a zombie. Her dad takes her on a journey to help her come to terms with her infection as she turns.

The movie will start shooting this fall by commercial director Henry Hobson. I like the concept of this zombie drama, and I like the cast they've been able to put together.

Breslin recently starred in the Halle Berry thriller The Call, which unfortunately wasn't the best film.

AVATAR 2 Test Footage Shows "Noticeable Improvement"

I'm really curious and excited to see the technological advancements made by James Cameron and his team for Avatar 2 and 3. The movie has been in development for years in preparation for shooting, and they are far enough along to start showing some test footage off to people.

Producer Jon Landau showed up at the Autodesk Users Group event during Siggraph, which is a conference for computer graphics. There he showed the audience some footage from the film.

Here’s a description of what went down at the conference from THR:

He then showed a series of clips, starting with a live capture created on a stage last November, which was set on Pandora and featured a human as well as the Na’vi. “This was our first foray into what we wanted to do,” Landau told the audience, pointing to noticeable improvements in aspects of the image including lighting and shadows.
The next examples came out of Autodesk’s virtual production software Motion Builder, and again showed a notable advancement in quality. “Ultimately our goal is to get to this on stage [for live capture],” he said. “This is going to allow Jim to light the scenes and make the process more efficient … and focus on what is most important—the close up. Movies about storytelling.”

The first movie looked amazing, and the fact that it's only going to look better next time around is so cool! The movie will most likely start shooting early next year.

Judging from what I saw from X-Men: Days of Future Past at Comic-Con this last weekend, this movie is going to be insanely good. I was shocked and surprised by how great it looked. The footage they showed gave me the chills and had 7000 people screaming for more. You can watch the panel here, and read the description of the footage we saw here.

The movie is still in production, and here's a new video that has surfaced from the set. The best part of the footage comes at the 1:15 mark when Magneto uses his power to throw a few people through the air. Looks like fun! The movie hits theaters on May 23rd, 2014.

Marvel will be releasing the new trailer for Thor: The Dark World on Wednesday, August 7th! It will be a part of YouTube's "Geek Week" programing event taking place from August 4th to the 10th.

I imagine the trailer will contain a lot of footage that was screened this last weekend during Comic-Con, which was pretty spectacular. The last thing they showed from the footage had everyone in shock.  I won't tell you what it is because it's definitely spoiler material.

But the trailer comes out soon, so you just have to be patient.

I've been loving these Gravity trailers/clips that Warner Bros. has been releasing this week! This movie looks so damn good! To watch the "Drifting" clip, click here, and to watch the "Detached" clip, click here. This footage has been incredibly intense, and I can't wait to see how the story of these two characters played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock turns out.

The movie comes out on October 4th, now watch this crazy entertaining new trailer!

GRAVITY, directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuaron, stars Oscar® winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.  Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney).  But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes.  The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.  The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue.  As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.  But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Full Comic-Con Panel

Director Matt Reeves has been filming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for the past 5 months. Reeves and his cast filmed until 5:00 the morning of the panel, and they then flew directly to San Diego to do this panel and present some exclusive footage.

For the panel, Matt was joined Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and Andy Serkis. The director opened up about why he loved Rise of the Planet of the Apes, how he wanted to honor what Rupert Wyatt did with the previous film, and how having the original 1968 film as a future finish line helps with telling the story for this film.

Serkis discussed the evolution of playing Caesar from an infant in the first film to the leader he is in this film, how his character is bringing a sense of humanity to the society of apes, and revealed that Caesar has a wife and teenage son. Russell, who worked with Reeves on Felicity, revealed why she joined the cast. Clarke talked about the action in the film and all the different types of athletes the director and the studio brought in to inhabit the apes.

For a brief overall reaction to the footage, click here.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

The movie comes out on July 18, 2014!

Sam Rockwell is such a great actor and he tends to pick great film project to be a part of. Here's a new trailer for his upcoming thriller A Single Shot, and it looks like a solidly intense movie! The movie also stars William H. Macy, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Isaacs, Joe Anderson, and Kelly Reilly

David M. Rosenthal’s white-knuckle thriller starts with a bang: a single shot, aimed at a lone deer, that hits and kills a young woman. The hunter, John Moon (Sam Rockwell, SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS), watches her die before discovering a box of money near her body. In a desperate panic, he takes the cash — hiring a low-rent lawyer (William H. Macy, FARGO) to fight his wife’s (Kelly Reilly, FLIGHT) divorce suit — and attempts to cover up the killing. But when he discovers that the money belonged to a group of hardened criminals, the hunter becomes the hunted in this tense cat-and-mouse struggle in the backwoods of West Virginia.

The movie is set to be released on iTunes on August 20th, and will then get a theatrical release on September 20th.

ASSASSINS CREED: Brahman Takes The Templar Battle to India

For those of us who somehow can't help but eat up more Assassins Creed (and there is no shortage of material), the recent announcement of the new graphic novel Assassins Creed: Brahman will be welcomed with open arms. One of the more popular topics in gaming is spitballing what culture or country the AC franchise will take on next, and from what we've seen so far their take on India looks fantastic (especially the art). Written by Brenden Fletcher and drawn and colored by the duo of Karl Kerschl and Cameron Stewart, Brahman puts us in the shoes of new Assassin (to the franchise, not necessarily a new recruit) Arbaaz Mir, who is taking on the British while subsequently trying to stop whatever the Templars happen to be up to (They really are like children those templars. Leave them in a room alone for two minutes and they get into all kinds of trouble).  You can catch the preview (courtesy of the UbiBlog) down below to judge for yourself. Be sure to let us know what you think.

With licensing of the '60s Batman series recently made available, the classic Adam West-era Batman was impossible to miss last week at Comic-Con. Not only did a good portion of the Comic-Con giveaway bags feature the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder, but toys, art, and other officially licensed merchandise were sprinkled throughout the Exhibit Floor.

This Batman poster art by Tom Whalen was sold exclusively at the convention for $60. They're now on eBay going for more than double that price! Holy price-gouging Batman!

New International Trailer for SNOWPIERCER

Here's the latest international trailer for Chris Evan's post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer. It was directed by Bong Joon Ho, and the reviews for it have been overwhelmingly positive. So it seems as if this great-looking movie actually is great!

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.

There's still no word on when this movie is going to be released, but hopefully we don't have to wait too long. I'm excited to see it! The trailer has some new footage for you to see, so check it out!

James McAvoy Cast as Victor Von Frankenstein!

X-Men: First Class star James McAvoy has been cast in 20th Century Fox's upcoming adaptation of Mary Shelley's monster classic, Frankenstein. He is set to play Victor Von Frankenstien alongside Daniel Radcliffe as Igor. Jack Huston and Toby Kebbel were also up for the role, but the producers didn't go that direction. I think McAvoy is a great choice, and it will be fun to see him and Radcliffe work together.

The movie was written by Max Landis (Chronicle), and it has been described as a sci-fi take on the original Mary Shelley story, which focuses on themes of friendship and redemption. In a previous interview, Landis revealed that it will be a period piece told from the perspective of the character Igor, and all the interesting misconceptions surrounding the mythology of the story and character. The movie will also explore where Igor came from, and if Victor Frankenstein was actually a doctor or a drop out. It's also said to be a tale of friendship and redemption. Igor is also described as being pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown's clothing.

I'm excited to see how this movie turns out. It sounds like they were able to give it a fun and interesting twist.

I, FRANKENSTEIN - Full Comic-Con Panel

$

I, Frankenstein is a film I wasn't looking forward to, but after seeing the footage they presented during Comic-Con, I'm excited for at least the action sequences. Writer-director Stuart Beattie, who has written ridiculously over-the-top action-centric films such as the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the first three Pirates films, stated during the panel that this film will have "no shoot outs, no fist fights, no car chases." From the footage shown, there are definitely some interesting and innovative sequences that I look forward to seeing in their entirety.

Beattie was joined by the creator of the graphic novel Kevin Grevioux (Underworld) and stars Aaron Eckhart and Yvonne Strahovski. Beattie discussed the mythology behind the character and how it connects to Mary Shelley's book. Grevioux went through the process of how he came up with the story and made it into a graphic novel. Eckhart talked about his intensive training for the film, what sets his portrayal of Frankenstein apart from other Frankenstein monsters of the past, and showed that he's still in shape. Strahovski fielded questions about her character and how she compares to characters she has played in the past.

I, Frankenstein hits theaters Jan 24, 2014.

Want a Sequel to DREDD? Sign this Petition!

I was really happy with the way Karl Urban's Dredd turned out. I was so happy about it that I wanted to see a sequel! Unfortunately, when the movie was released in theaters no one went to see it. It only pulled in $13.4 million domestically, which may have killed any hope for a sequel. The film has done a lot better since it was released on Blu-ray and DVD, and it has become a cult hit.

I'm pretty confident that if a sequel is made at this point it will do better at the box office than the first movie because the audience has grown. But there's still no way a studio will make the film unless they can see that there's an big enough audience out there.

Well, that campaign has begun. The publishers of Judge Dredd, 2000AD, have created an official petition to send to Lionsgate in the hopes of making that sequel a reality. They currently have over 10,000 signatures, and you can sign the petition by clicking here. Make sure to join their Judge Dredd Facebook page here.

If they can get an impressive amount of signatures there may be a chance a sequel will happen. So if you want to see Dredd 2, then sign the damn petition!

Dog Really Loves STAR TREK

LindyAnnaJones has a pretty awesome dog. Apparently Chappo (her dog) gets really pumped whenever Star Trek   comes on and howls during the main theme! I wish my dog would have that reaction when I watched Doctor Who  and stuff. Unfortunately, he only reacts to Disney channel's Dog With A Blog   (you think I'm joking, but I'm not).

Also for any Trek fans who watch the video below, just know the author has acknowledged that the theme is not from TNG but instead The Final Frontier, so don't be flaming the comments or anything.
