I just finished the "Godzilla Experience" that Legendary Pictures has going on at Comic-Con, and it was awesome! I have a video of part of it that I'll be posting soon. In the meantime, here's an epic new poster for the Godzilla remake teasing the giant creature.

The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

The Comic-Con panel takes place on Saturday July 20th, in Hall H from 10:45AM – 1:15PM.

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

As part of Sideshow Collectibles' month-long Comic-Con event, here's a tease of their Premium Format Figure for Clone Commander Cody, one of many on Obi Wan's long list of frenemies made during the Clone Wars. I believe the figure is modeled after the Episode III version of the character and not the one from the Clone Wars series.

With everything coming out for this film, I am getting more excited. Is this a movie that you are looking forward to?

Summit Entertainment has released the first exciting film clip from Ender's Game called "Mazer Rackham's Run. " It gives fans a little taste of the kind of action and special effects that we'll be seeing in the film. Worst Movie Going Experience - Art

$

You probably know artist Jeff Victor from his Cartoon Style Evolution series of character art that pays tribute to the careers of various actors. This time he sets his focus on the moviegoing experience itself, the BAD experiences to be specific. Here is Jeff's explanation of the piece:

This isn't representative of one instance, but an amalgam of the many times I go out to the movie theaters in LA. For a city that is the most closely associated with Hollywood and film, theater goers here are very often incredibly disrespectful and can't seem to watch a movie without texting, chatting, or any number of annoying activities. As a film buff, it's incredibly sad to see the theater is no longer the sacred ground it used to be. Now it just seems people can barely tear themselves away from their phones for two hours. In addition to the ever-escalating prices, I fear the magic of going to the movies has been lost for many people. I hope we can find our way back before it's gone for good.

I think the right crowd attitude enhances the experience of the movie. I like going to midnight screenings because I love an energetic crowd.  As rowdy as opening night moviegoers can be sometimes, for the most part they are the most respectful group to see a movie with because they've usually waited a long time to see that movie.

It's those random weekdays or middle of the day on the weekend screeners that could just care less about the people around them. I've actually seen some of the worst theater etiquette at press screenings. Two older women loudly joking to each other that everything on screen looked like a penis throughout the ENTIRE movie and a person walking in 10-minutes late who then lectures me about where my drink should go (it was in MY cup holder) are the two worst experiences I've had recently. Both were at press screenings.

Be sure to let us know what your worst moviegoing experience was. Also let us know what some of your other movie theater pet peeves are.

So, there have been rumors and whispers that there will be a Batman Beyond live action movie. Well, apparently those rumors are on their way to being fact. The guys over at BOF are claiming that there is some truth behind the making of this movie.

For those of you who don’t know, the story follows Terry McGinnis through his transformation from a troublemaking teen into a real crime fighter. With the help of an aging Bruce Wayne, Terry will become Neo-Gothams Dark Knight.

Personally, I think this would be a great idea. The DC movie universe could use some diversity in what they are going to bring to the big screen. The Batman Beyond series was great, but short lived. It has a lot of potential to make a great movie series. You don’t have to just take my word for it. This is something that we here at GT have thought about. We even wrote a post a few months back giving 5 good reasons why they should do this.

I hope that with enough support from fans of the show, DC will see what they have and make the right choice.

Is this something that you would be interested in?

The Two Worst Things That Could Happen at Your Wedding

Wedding season is upon us. So here are a couple of wedding disasters; one staged and one that could have used a stage... or at least a solid roof. The first is a fun and frightening wedding photo by photographer J. Quinn Miller. If a dinosaur were to come back to life and attack the wedding party, that would be a pretty clear sign that maybe the universe doesn't want that union to take place. But what could be worse than a long extinct animal respawning at your wedding? How about a drunk wedding guest taking down the reception from the inside out?!

To read up on how Miller came up with the concept for the dinosaur wedding attack, head on over to io9.

First Look At Bob Stookey From THE WALKING DEAD Season 4!

One of my most anticipated panels at SDCC this year is The Walking Dead panel. For those of you who are fans of both the graphic novel and the show, you already know that the two are slowly drifting apart as far as the storylines go.

With fan favorite characters walking different paths on the show and the introduction of new faces, things are constantly on the move. For those of you who have been followers of the novel, you will be pleased to know that we are getting another treat. Bad guy Bob Stookey will be on this next season, but I wouldn't expect to see the same Bob that we have known and loved to hate.

From the upcoming issue of EW we get our first image and a little back story on Bob Stookey. Here is what they have, enjoy:

Played by Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Wire), the TV version of Stookey is a former Army medic. But unlike the comic version, this Stookey does not hail from Woodbury. Instead, he is found by Daryl Dixon about a week before events pick up in season 4. “His backstory is not entirely the same as in the comic and the novel,” explains new showrunner Scott M. Gimple. “I think he’s seen things go bad over and over, and winding up in this stable place doesn’t shake him from his experience. He struggles with that.”
“You can see there’s something deeper and darker that’s going on with this character, just from the first episode,” says Gilliard. “We don’t really know what it is. We just know he’s got some issues that he’s dealing with.”

Marvel and ABC have released a higher quality version of a featurette that we have already shared for Joss Whedon's highly anticipated series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it features plenty of cool footage, along with interviews from some of the talent involved with the show. The lower quality video we shared previously is 1 minute longer, so we've embedded it below.

The Comic-Con panel takes place on Friday, July 19th, and the show will also be spotlighted at the Marvel Entertainment Booth on the Convention Center floor throughout the entire weekend.

The series is set to premiere on September 24th!

High quality featurette

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

I Survived the "GODZILLA EXPERIENCE" at Comic-Con

$

Legendary Pictures has brought Godzilla to San Diego Comic-Con! The studio is putting on a awesome fan event at throughout the convention called the "Godzilla Experience." I had the opportunity to check it out yesterday, and it was a blast!

They ended up creating a little corner of Tokyo Japan in a big warehouse packed full of all kinds of Godzilla memorabilia. It includes on of the Godzilla suits that some poor guy wore when making one of the Godzilla movies. I believe it was from Godzilla 2000.  The area also included a sushi bar with Japanese customers just minding their own business doing their thing. I've included a video tour and photos from this location of the experience below. But thing took a turn for the worse, and we weren't allowed to take any more photos.

As I'm walking around taking picture the light dim and start to flicker. You can hear thuds in the distance. A door opens in front of me and a guy in a hazmat suit come rushing in telling us to get inside a underground bunker or bomb shelter. Once in, we see a team of scientists frantically working on trying to figure out what is going on. There are TV screens showing the military in action.

From there we are rushed into an elevator that takes us up to the 25th floor of the building. The elevator ride was rough, violently shaking as it moved to the top floor. Why they would take us to the top floor during this insanity is beyond me as it doesn't seem like the safest thing to do, but that's where we end up.

We exit the elevator into an office room with a view of the city. As we stare out the window of the dark office the building shakes and we hear more thuds in the distance. As they get closer and closer Godzilla comes into view, and stomps across the city and out of view! There's a moment of silence, and once you think the worst of it is over Godzilla's giant head comes to the window and looks in wile giving a blood-curdling scream! It was glorious!

That was basically the end of the experience, but it was insanely fun. Legendary Pictures did a fantastic job bringing it to life. If you're at the convention I highly suggest trying to check it out! Just go to the Legendary booth for details.

I also found out that the footage of Godzilla shown in during this presentation is not the Godzilla design that we will see in the movie as previously believed. Check out the video and photos below!

Cinema Sins is back, and this time they unleash the fury on Men in Black 3, pointing out everything wrong in the film in six minutes or less. This is actually one of their better videos. As ridiculous as Men in Black 3 was, I still enjoyed it. It's just one of those films where you have to leave your brain at home.

Since R.I.P.D. comes out soon, and since R.I.P.D. is basically Men In Black 4, we thought it would be fun to go back to last year and see what sins we could find in Men In Black 3.
