New CAPTAIN AMERICA Suit Spotted on Set of Sequel

$

Here's a good full frontal shot of Captain America's new suit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you couldn't tell, it's being worn by Chris Evans' stunt double, who is riding a motorcycle. This also looks like a loose fitting stunt suit. The one Evans wears is going to fit a little more snugly. I've also included a few more shots of Steve Rogers, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier fighting each other.

The photos were taken by John Kuntz.

Poster for PARANOIA with Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Liam Hemsworth

Here's the first poster for the upcoming Harrison FordGary Oldman, and Liam Hemsworth thriller Paranoia. Hemsworth surrounds himself with an insanely talented cast, unfortunately the movie looks like it's going to be mediocre. I just don't think Hemsworth has the talent to carry a film like this on his shoulders. When you put him up against these great actors, he just doesn't cut it. You can see what I'm talking about by watching the trailer, which I've included below.

The high stakes thriller Paranoia takes us deep behind the scenes of global success to a deadly world of greed and deception.  The two most powerful tech billionaires in the world (Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman) are bitter rivals with a complicated past who will stop at nothing to destroy each other.  A young superstar (Liam Hemsworth), seduced by unlimited wealth and power falls between them, and becomes trapped in the middle of the twists and turns of their life-and-death game of corporate espionage.  By the time he realizes his life is in danger, he is in far too deep and knows far too much for them to let him walk away.

The movie comes out on August 16th.

BACK TO THE FUTURE - Alternate Swedish Poster

Check out this cool alternate Swedish movie poster design for the classic 1985 film Back to the Future. It's a fun and different concept featuring Marty running into his parents in 1955. The tag line above is translated as saying,

Talking to your parents is easy, as long as you don't have to do it before you were even born.

I love this movie.

R.I.P.D. - Extended TV Spot

Here's a new extended TV spot for the supernatural action film R.I.P.D., which stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as two undead lawmen trying to save the world from the bad souls that have escaped justice. The spot has a few little bits of new footage.

The fun looking movie also stars James Hong, Mary-Louise Parker, Robert Knepper, and Kevin Bacon. It opens in theaters in 3D on July 19th, 2013.

Nick is dead -- at least, that's how he remembers it -- and teams up with another deceased detective, a gunslinger from the Old West (played by Jeff Bridges), to work for the elite task force, the Rest In Peace Department (hence the title), to track down the dead on Earth. (Due to overpopulation, some unsettled spirits haven't gone where they're supposed to, and are hiding out). Technically, R.I.P.D. officers (who are overseen by (Mary-Louise Parker) aren't allowed to kill anyone living, and aren't supposed to interact with anyone from their previous lives, but Nick is haunted by the fact that he was murdered by another cop (played by Kevin Bacon), and can't let it go.

RED 2 - Amusing New TV Spots

Summit Entertainment has released two new amusing and action-packed TV spots for the action comedy Red 2. This looks like it could be better than the first movie, and I loved the first movie. I'm so glad they made a sequel, and I hope this isn't the last one. It's just such a fun concept full of fantastic characters.

The sequel was directed by Dean Parisot, and it stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-JonesAnthony Hopkins, Byung Hun Lee, Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox, and Neal McDonough

The movie hits theaters this summer on July 19th!

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world—and stay alive in the process.

Thrilling Ancient Hawaiian Short Film - UNTIL THE SUNSETS

If you clicked through to watch this short film you're in for a real treat. The film is called Until the Sunsets, it's set in ancient Hawaii, and it's freakin' amazing! The story is captivatingly thrilling and the production value is fantastic. The movie has some cool Hawaiian battle elements that I think you'll enjoy as well. I also loved that they incorporated the Hawaiian language of 'olelo Hawai'i. It has kind of an Apocalypto feel to it. Here's the story summary:

On the eve of the makahiki; the season of Peace and harvest in honor of the God Lono, a neighboring village invades a peaceful village to insure their mana will be increased before the Makahiki is upon them. Two lovers fight to save not only their village, but their right to be together as they battle against time to save their ahupua'a before the sun sets on the season of Ku; the season of war.

I'd love to see a story like this made into a feature film. I hope you enjoy the short!

One of my favorite things to do is find cool art, and I came across this great creature design for the Bioware game Dragon Age and just had to share. The character is named Hurlock, and it was created by CGHUB artsit tiare96. I love how insanely creepy this is. I swear I've seen this guy in my nightmares.

Quentin Tarantino's PULP FICTION and KILL BILL Connection

I never noticed this before. Of course, I was never looking for it in the first place. But, remember that Jack Rabbits Slim restaurant scene in Pulp Fiction? Well, Uma Thurman basically laid out a rough draft of the characters that we would end up seeing in the Kill Bill movies. I've also included a video of the scene from the movie to watch below. She starts talking about it at the 2 minute mark. I thought this was really cool. Did you notice this before?

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES Hands-On - E3 2013

During a tour of Warner Brothers’ booth at E3, I had a chance to play LEGO Marvel Super Heroes while chatting with the game’s director, Arthur Parsons. This is a game that I have been excited about for a while, and it’s looking like it’s on track to live up to my expectations.  With LEGO Batman 2 and LEGO City Undercover, TT Games (a subsidiary of WB) has really been experimenting with the implementation of an open world. This experimentation will be more fully realized in LEGO Marvel. I asked Arthur Parsons what the open world will be used for, and he assured me that you would be able to roam around freely and accept sidequests that show you different areas and introduce you to a whole slew of Marvel characters that might not be in the main storyline.

The game will have over 120 playable characters from all over the Marvelverse, and I had a blast trying a few of them out. Parsons said it was a creative challenge to make every character feel different and unique--to feel like you would want them to feel. For example; Hulk feels huge and powerful, Venom is cool and creepy, and Wolverine can’t die--he just turns into a skeleton until his healing factor kicks in. It was also a lot of fun to play with the environments.  As Iron Man, I flew around throughout Asgard, which is beautifully designed. I also accidentally discovered The Warlock's Eye, a pretty obscure reference--a shoutout to the diehard Marvel fans. Parsons also talked about the version of New York they're using for the game. It features standard New York landmarks like Grand Central Station and the Statue of Liberty (which at one point in the story, Magneto will control). It will also have the staples of Marvel's universe, like Stark Tower and Roxxon Energy.

It’s clear that Parsons and the other developers are huge Marvel fans. They have an original storyline featuring Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Loki. They are well-versed enough to play around in Marvel’s vast universe, taking characters from all of its franchises and including them in interesting and creative ways. TT Games has made some great LEGO games in the past, including Batman, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, and from what I can tell, this is going to be their fullest and best game yet.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is due for release in late 2013 for Windows, DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.  An alternate version will be released on the Nintendo 3DS.

New Feaurette for THE HOBBIT Focuses on New Zealand

A few days ago the first trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was released, and it looks incredible! Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for the film trilogy, featuring the cast and crew talking about how amazing it is to shooting these movies in New Zealand. I've always wanted to go to New Zealand, it's such a beautiful place, and I just want to hang out in Middle Earth for awhile.

To watch the new trailer for the movie again, click here, and you can check out the video featurette below. The journey continues on December 13th!

This How to Train Your Dragon Toothless cosplay is amazing! The costume was created by cosplayer Monoyasha, who, as you can see, put a lot of time, effort, and detail into this thing. Here's a note from the creator:

NOT FOR SALE; this video is so people have a chance to see the toothless quad suit up close and personal, so see all of the functions. There is only ONE person inside of this costume. Afterwards I was mauled by children who happened to see me.

Teaser for HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE with McConaughey and Harrelson

HBO has released a haunting teaser trailer for their new series True Detective, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. It's an eight-episode drama that follows two detectives searching for a serial killer in Louisiana. I enjoy watching shows like this, so I'm looking forward to it. Knowing HBO we can assume that it will be incredibly dark and disturbing.

If the show does well, the idea behind it is to introduce a new mystery with a new cast of characters every season, like American Horror Story is doing.

Check out this fantastic portrait of Chris Evans as Captain America in The Avengers. The photo was taken by Marco Gorb, and features a different helmet than what we saw in the movie. This helmet is more textured, and his ears are exposed. I actually like this helmet design more. I'm not sure why Marvel didn't roll with it.

Is This the JURASSIC PARK 4 Teaser Poster?

This could very well be our first look at the teaser poster set to be released for director Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic Park 4. It features a mosquito preserved in tree sap, which made the cloning of dinosaurs possible. It also comes along with a classic line from the original film, spoken by Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), "Life Found A Way."

The photo of this poster comes from Movieweb, and it came along with the following note:
"A friend of mine works for Amblin Entertainment, and he told me that a teaser poster will be released soon for the 2015 blockbuster, Jurassic Park IV. I didn't believe him, so he just sent me a picture from the poster, without any comment. It seems valid, but I don't know for sure. I think it will come to light soon!"

I imagine this poster will be all over the place once Comic-Con hits. If you want to learn more about what the plot of the fourth film will entail, click here. If the information there is accurate, it could make for a great movie.

New Trailer for THE WAY WAY BACK - Go See This Movie!

I really hope that you take the time this summer to go see a great little indie coming-of-age dramady called The Way Way Back.  This was one of my favorite movies from the Sundance Film Festival, and it hit in theaters this weekend.

It's a change of pace from all of the big budget tentpole action films, but to be honest, this movie is better and more entertaining that most of them.  We've now got a new UK trailer for the film that stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amanda Peet, Rob Corddry, and Liam James.

THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world—all during a summer he will never forget.

Everyone in the movie gives an amazing performance, but Rockwell ends up giving one of his best of his career. It also gives us a very different, dark side of Carell. Here's what Ben had to say about the film in his review, which I completely agree with.

This could end up being one of the funniest movies of the year... We've seen a lot of films with the same themes as this one, but every element comes together very well and coalesces into a really special coming of age story. The Way, Way Back is strong, confident, dramatic, and laugh-out-loud funny.

You can also watch our video review of the film here if you want. Please go see this movie if it's playing in a theater near you. I promise you won't be disappointed.
