Another Great PACIFIC RIM TV Spot with New Footage

"Let's finish this!"

I know you all want to see some more greatness from Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, so here's another TV spot that Warner Bros. has released showing off more new footage. The amazing looking epic comes out on July 12th.

The movie stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Idris Elba (Thor), Rinko Kikuchi (The Brothers Bloom), Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses), and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). The ensemble cast also includes Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, DiegoKlattenhoff, and Brad William Henke

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes — a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Warner Bros. has released a seventh TV spot for Man of Steel, and it features some really cool new footage. The best part about this one is seeing Superman using his heat vision in all its badass glory! Man of Steel hits theaters  on June 14th. Enjoy this latest action-packed spot!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world's beacon of hope -- Superman.

John C. Reilly up for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and More Info

Director James Gunn is hard at work prepping up to shoot Guardians for the Galaxy for Marvel, and we've got a lot of new details for you thanks to Hitfix. Some of those details include new info on the villain, as well as Rocket Raccoon, Michael Rooker's character, Lee Pace's character, and the possible addition of John C. Reilly. Here are the points of interest...

Possible SPOILERS ahead:

  • Rocket Raccoon! It's being reported that he and his partner Wal Russ (a talking walrus) will be introduced in the film as guards at The Keystone Quadrant, an intergalactic asylum for the criminally insane.
  • Rooker's character Yondu Udonta is said to be the films main villain, which is interesting because I believe he's one of the founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team.
  • Pace's character is going to be a villain, which we already knew. What we didn't know is that the villain will eventually switch sides an be a good guy, which will set him up for a possible spin-off film. The site suggests characters such as Nova, Adam Warlock, or Mar-Vel aka Captain Marvel.
  • John C. Reilly is wanted for the role of Rhomann Dey. Marvel has made an offer and if he takes it he will play a big part in the Marvel universe. The say that the character has "been designed as the Agent Coulson of the "Guardians" movies. He's the human agent who serves as a go-between, keeping the Guardians in line and reporting to SHIELD about their activities." This is a very different take on the character than what we know of him in the comics. In the comics he's the leader of the Nova Corps, and he's not human. But Reilly should be great in the role if he takes it.
  • Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, and Ken Watanabe are also being looked at to play a pier of Dey, and a liaison for the Guardians.

This movie is going to be very different from any Marvel film that has been made so far. I'm looking forward to it because it's going to be amazing. Marvel is definitely making the Marvel cinematic universe its own thing separate from the comics. They are changing a lot of things, which I'm ok with. I'm a huge Marvel fan, and I know these changes aren't going to sit well with some people, but I guess it might be something they'll just have to live with whether they like it or not.

The movie arrives in theaters August 1st, 2014, and I'm still convinced that Rocket Raccoon is going to steal the show.

What are your thoughts on the newly revealed info?

You're going to really enjoy this action-packed animated short film called Fighting Spirits. The story takes place in the not too distant future, and follows two rival ballerinas who "face off at a final audition that takes a turn for the unexpected." It turns into a crazy explosive cyborg battle.

It was created by  for his undergraduate thesis film in animation at NYU Tisch, and it ended up being extremely fun.

Warner Bros. has released yet another new trailer for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel showing off even more new action-packed footage! This is the eighth spot that's been released. With another few weeks to go before the movie is released, you can bet that it's not going to be the last.

Evangeline Lilly Talks about Playing Tauriel in THE HOBBIT

As you already know, Evangeline Lilly's Elf character Tauriel is a new character created for the Middle Earth cinematic universe. She will be introduced in Peter Jackson's next installment in the trilogy The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. She'll also be in the last film The Hobbit: There and Back Again. Tauriel is related to Legolas, and in a recent interview with Total Film, she discusses her character a little more saying,

She's a very, very young elf. She's only 600 years old, unlike Legolas who's like, 1,900 years old and Thranduil who's about 3,000 years old. She doesn't have quite the wisdom and pose that those two boys do; she's a little more... gritty. A little more spontaneous, passionate perhaps.

To play this character I need to have a certain amount of grace. But I'm also supposed to be an absolutely ruthless, deadly killer.

When I first saw Lilly on LOST the first thought that went through my head was that she looked like an Elf, so it's pretty cool that she actually ended up playing one.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters on December 13th of this year, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again comes out on December 17th, 2014.

Spider-Man and His Mini-Me Take on The Rhino in Set Photos

Here's a new series of photos from the set of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. What's cool about these photos is along with the real Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) we have a young kid dressed up as Spider-Man (Jorge Vegas) teaming up with him to take on The Rhino. There's even photos of Paul Giamatti wearing a big pre-CGI construct of his Rhino costume.

Potential SPOILERS:

.

.

.

According to an IMBD user the scene "involves the Rhino on a rampage and Spidey jumps onto an NYPD squad car with a bullhorn and taunts the rhino by calling him a mechanized hippopotamus."

Not sure why the kid is there, it doesn't seem like the safest place for a kid. I don't think his parents would approve of him fighting a big Rhino villain.

The film also stars Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field. It's set to be released on May 2nd, 2014.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Peter Dinklage is rocking the 1970s style stash and hairdo in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. We still don't really know whom Dinklage is playing in the film, but now we know that the character is based in the 70s instead of the apocalyptic future. Many fans are speculating that he will be playing Sentinels creator Bolivar Trask, and there's a strong possibility that speculation could turn out right. What do you all think?

WORLD WAR Z - New International Poster

I've been hearing surprisingly good things about World War Z. It looks like it will be a fun and entertaining film. With all of the issues the movie had gone through, there was a chance it might have ended up being underwhelming. Hopefully the movie actually ends up as being as good as I'm hearing.

World War Z comes out on June 21st.

Based on Max Brooks' best-selling novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War," the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

New Photos From THOR: THE DARK WORLD and Rumored Director Issues

There's a rumor going around the internet that Marvel isn't happy with director Alan Taylor and what he's done with Thor: The Dark World. According to a commenter named Ford A. Thaxton on Film Score MonthlyThor composer Carter Burwell will not be involved with the film anymore...

FYI, I checked with a REALLY WELL INFORMED SOURCE and it was confirmed. Carter is off the film.

He then added:

It also appears so is the director who seems to have been asked to take a long vacation until AFTER the film opens. I've [heard] one replacement name being mentioned which would be a very interesting replacement and is a VERY TALENTED composer as well. We'll see if he gets the gig.

There's no confirmation of this, but apparently this Thaxton guy has a reputation for posting info that ends up being true. That doesn't mean this is true though. We've heard rumors like this before of studios not being happy with their directors and forcing them to take a leave of absence. But I seriously think in this case it isn't true. Everyone that's been involved with the movie has had nothing but good things to say about Taylor. So this rumor is hard to believe. I'm sure it will be debunked soon enough.

Anyway, I've included some scans from Empire Magazine (via: FirstShowing) featuring some new images from the film. They include new looks at Thor and the Dark Elves.

What are your thoughts on this recent rumor?

Thor battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

The film also stars Anthony HopkinsChris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, and Rene Russo. It comes out on November 8th.

Just in case you felt like you weren't getting enough Pacific Rim awesomeness in your geek diet, here's a new UK TV spot with even more new footage! This one focuses on the main character played by Charlie Hunnam.

TRUE BLOOD Season 6 - Two New Promo Trailers

HBO has released two more promo trailers for True Blood Season 6. This season the story takes us into to a more political setting, but that doesn't mean they are going to skimp out on the nakedness. I'm sure it'll be there.

Season 6 is set to premiere on Sunday, June 16th at 9 pm, and I'm sure it will end up being yet another entertaining blood-drenched season.

Based on the popular Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, the Emmy-nominated hit drama series was created by Alan Ball, creator of HBO's Emmy-winning series "Six Feet Under." The show follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people's thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard).

Which of These 4 Actresses Will Play Hillary Clinton in Biopic?

James Ponsoldt, the director of the Sundance hits Smashed and The Spectacular Now, is now prepping to direct a Hillary Clinton biopic. I'll be honest; I don't see the point of this movie as I'm not really interested in knowing about the life of Hillary C at all.

The director is currently looking to fill the role, and this is the list of actresses who are up for it. We've got Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, and Amanda Seyfried. The movie will be called Rodham, and the story will focus on her early life in 1974, when she was a 27 year-old Washington lawyer. During that time, she found herself as part of the House Judiciary Committee that would Impeach Nixon’s youngest attorney. It will also focus on the conflict of where life should be taking her. It's based on the Black List script by Young Il Kim.

Ponsoldt confirmed the list of actresses above saying,

They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position. Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.

All of the actresses in the running are pretty talented, but let's face it, Chastain is the most talented out of the bunch.

Are you interested in seeing a Hillary Clinton biopic? Who from the list of actresses would you like to see play her?

Here's another fantastic CG animated short film for you to watch! The movie is called Worlds Apart, and it's described as being part cautionary fairytale and part science fiction thriller. It was written, produced, and directed by Michael Zachary Huber for Cogswell College's elite Project X animation studio. As you'll see it ended up being phenomenal.

The film "tells the story of a young Central California family caught in an unimaginable situation. Told through the eyes of a child's teddy bear, Worlds Apart is part cautionary fairytale and part science fiction thriller." Enjoy the show!

THE WOLVERINE - Cool New Magazine Cover and 10 Photos

Here's a great new collectible cover for Empire Magazine featuring an unyielding looking Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine. There's nothing as cool as seeing Wolverine with his claws unleashed while holding a samurai sword. It looks like Logan is going to get his ass kicked around a little in this new film, but that's ok because we all know he'll come out on top in the end. I've also included a few image scans featuring some new shots from the film.

The Wolverine was directed by James Mangold and also stars Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto and Brian Tee. It hits theaters on July 26th.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
