Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx are featured in the latest poster for Roland Emmerich's action-packed film White House Down. I can't believe I'm saying this about a movie made by Emmerich, but this actually looks like a lot of fun. You can watch the latest trailer for the film here.

Capitol Policeman John Cale (Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

The movie also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, and James Woods. It's set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.

Trailer for the Outlaw Drama AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS

Here's the first trailer for a new outlaw crime drama called Ain't Them Bodies Saints. The film has an impressive cast that includes Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck, and Ben Foster. I saw the movie up at Sundance earlier this year, and even though I liked it, it's not for everyone. It's a slow moving poetic love story that follows an outlaw couple, and a heartbreaking portrayal of a family split apart. You can read my review for it here.

Bob Muldoon (Casey Affleck) and Ruth Guthrie (Rooney Mara), an impassioned young outlaw couple on an extended crime spree, are finally apprehended by lawmen after a shootout in the Texas hills. Although Ruth wounds a local officer, Bob takes the blame. But four years later, Bob escapes from prison and sets out to find Ruth and their daughter, born during his incarceration. Set against the backdrop of 1970′s Texas Hill Country, director David Lowery paints a poetic picture, evoking the mythology of westerns and saturating the dramatic space with an aching sense of loss. Featuring powerful performances by Affleck, Mara as well as Ben Foster and Keith Carradine, AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS is a story of love, motherhood, and searching for peace while faced with an unrelenting past.

The movie is set to be released on August 16th. Here's the trailer.

We've got another TV spot for Man of Steel that you're going to want to check out because it's got some exciting action-packed new footage! Throughout the spot Jor-El explains to Clark Kent the meaning of the 'S' on his chest. This is really a great spot, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Disturbing Re-imagining of Mike Wazowski from MONSTERS INC.

"Blind. Will Strike Fear 4 Beer!"

Artist Dan LuVisi has given Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. a twistedly disturbing new look. He re-imagines the character as a blind and devastated vagabond hiding out on Earth.

Here's the crazy backstory behind the creepy portrait that led Mike to this devastated life:

After Boo was saved, Sully and Mike realized they no longer required scares for cash, thus forcing Mike into a new line of business; comedy.

As Mike continued his stand-up routine with the children in hopes for laughs, Sully partied and wasted money that he didn't have. The problem is: the world didn't care, it was Sully, a hero and role model. And everyone loves Sully. Everyone but the one living in his shadow.

Mike was tired of it. Tired of lowering himself to telling jokes, only to hurt himself in the process over, and over again. Mike decided to have a talk with Sully about it, but was continuously avoided. Angered, Mike followed Sully one day, only to realize he was headed for the home of Mike's girlfriend, Celia.

Mike rushed home, shocked to find the two talking. His anger got the best of him and he attacked Sully. Out of defense, Sully struck Mike, catching his one-eye. Out of confusion and anger, Mike launched his nimble body into Sully, peircing him with his horns, killing him.

As Sully laid dead on the floor, Celia screamed, blaming Mike for the death of him. She then told Mike that he wanted to surprise him with a new job, and was just talking with her to help surprise him.

Devastated, and now wanted by the Monster City Police, Mike ran. He had to go where no one could ever find him, so he travelled to the old Monster's Inc factory. Mike opened one of the Doors, and was transported to Earth to live amongst the humans, banishing himself from Monstropolis.

This is where Mike was broken, and dwelled on the city streets, among those that looked down upon him.

To this day, no one knows what happened to Mike, and no one ever will.

Screen Gems has released a new motion poster for the new big screen adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie. The film comes from director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Stop-Loss), and stars Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie.  Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society.  Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

The horror film comes out on October 18th, 2013. To watch the latest trailer click here.

New Trailer for WALKING WITH DINOSAURS 3D Adventure

We've got a new trailer for a dinosaur movie coming our way called Walking With Dinosaurs. The story for the 3D animated film is told without dialogue and limited narrative. I'm not really interested in the film, but my kids love dinosaurs, so of course they want to see it. I think they'll be disappointed when it's not as good as Jurassic Park.

The movie was directed by Barry Cook (Arthur Christmas, Mulan) and Neil Nightingale, and the story follows two brothers looking to follow in their father's footsteps, which leads to a showdown with dinosaurs in the Arctic North.

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE MOVIE is the ultimate immersive, big-screen, 3-D experience. Recent discoveries and a breakthrough in technology will introduce new and unique dinosaurs that are more real than ever before and put moviegoers in the middle of a thrilling prehistoric adventure, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs against all odds to become a hero for the ages.

The movie will be released on December 30th, 2013.

Tom Cruise Drops out of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Warner Bros. and Guy Ritchie are back on the hunt for a new actor to take on the lead role in their new film The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Tom Crusie was originally set to star in the movie, but he dropped out to focus on producing and starring in Mission: Impossible 5. Paramount Pictures plans to start shooting M:I 5 before the end of the year.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is based on a TV series which ran from 1964-68.  I've never seen the show, but the story follows "two agents of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement. With gadgets and their wits and charm, they fought the evil forces of Thrush."

Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) is still attached to the project, and Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina) is in talks to join. I'm sure they'll find another solid actor to take over for Cruise. Any suggestions?

THE SIMPSONS Theme Park Announced with Concept Art

Universal Studios has announced that they will be developing a theme park based around The Simpsons' hometown of Springfield. What makes this so awesome is that Moe's Bar, Krusty Burger, Duff Beer, Lard Lad Donuts, and the Kwik-E-Mart will all finally become a reality! I've never been to any of the theme parks in Florida, but now I'm not going to go until at least this is finished.

The proposed park will be built in Universal Orlando near the Simpson's Ride. Here is the official press release with all of the details:

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 23, 2013) - Woo Hoo! Springfield, hometown to America’s favorite animated family, The Simpsons, comes to life at Universal Orlando Resort this summer.

The expansive, new area within Universal Studios will be anchored by the mega-attraction, The Simpsons Ride, and will allow guests to enter the world of The Simpsons like never before. It will be the only place in the world where guests can walk the streets of Springfield. It will include a brand-new outdoor attraction, places and foods pulled right from the show and two new Simpsons characters who will make their debut with the new area – Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Bob.

And yes – there will be Duff Beer, brewed exclusively for Universal Orlando.

For the first time ever – anywhere – fans will be able to walk down Fast Food Boulevard and visit the places that helped Springfield stake its claim as “Shelbyville by the Sea.” They will be able to grab a Krusty-certified meat sandwich at Krusty Burger, snatch the catch of the day at the Frying Dutchman, get a slice at Luigi’s Pizza, go nuts for donuts at Lard Lad, enjoy a “Taco Fresho” with Bumblebee Man and imbibe at Moe’s Tavern.

The new attraction – called Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – will take “foolish humans” on an intergalactic spin designed to send them into orbit.

Joss Whedon Explains New AVENGERS 2 Characters and More

Avengers director Joss Whedon recently showed up on the Jimmy Fallon Show. While he was there, he talked about The Avengers 2 and explained the new characters that will be introduced in the film, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. When asked why he chose to include these characters he said,

I found their powers to be very visually interesting. In the last film a lot of the characters had very ‘punchy powers’ where they were always punching something and that got kind of boring after awhile.

As of right now no one has been officially cast in the roles, but Saoirse Ronan has said she'd love to play Scarlet Witch. Then there's Evan Peters, who was just cast as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past. You can watch the full interview here. Below that you'll find another interview with Whedon talking more about the movie, and how he feels very strongly about the story.

Here's what he had to say in the most recent issue of Empire Magazine:

I turned in an outline for Avengers 2 before we started [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D]. So I'm writing that script. I feel very strongly about the story, so as soon as the pilot is fully wrapped up, I get to go full-tilt on that, and I'm very excited.

When asked about avoiding the usual sequel issues, Whedon reveals that the story is all about the villain.

Yes, that always makes me cranky. I'm very excited about the villain, and have a lot to say about him. But if you watch my shows, the one thing I've never been very good at is guest stars, because I've always been so interested in the ensemble. With The Avengers, I'm still most fascinated by them. How do these guys feel, and what's the way they conflict, and what's the unexpected way they connect? Forming a team is one story; being a team is a very different story. The other thing is, you don't try to top it. I know I will never make as pleasing a moment in a film as Hulk and Loki. You can't chase that dragon. If you try to do exactly the same thing, the chances you're going to do it better are very slim, and the only reason for me to devote three years to making another Avengers movie is the hope of making a better one.
