While we await the first trailer for Edgar Wright's new comedy adventure The World's End, here's a couple of new posters for it. One of which features the two main characters played by none other than Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It also reveals a horde of glowing eyed people, makes me wonder if we've got a little bit of Invasion of the Body Snatchers going on here.

The story follows five friends (which also include Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, and Paddy Considine) who reunite for a pub crawl that escalates into a struggle for humankind's future. I'm sure it will be a fun ride!

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

The World's End comes out on August 23rd, 2013, and the trailer should be released in a couple of days.

I'm going right into SPOILER territory so go away if you don't want to know what Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy wardrobe means.

It's been talked about for some time now that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would most likely be building up to the "Death of Gwen Stacy" storyline. The latest bunch of set photos that have been released seem to confirm that. Stone is shown wearing an outfit that looks almost exactly like the one that Gwen wore when she died in The Amazing Spider-Man #121.

Check out the photos and let us know what you think! Do you think they'll actually kill off Gwen in this sequel?

The film also stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and B.J. Novak, and is set for release on May 2nd, 2014.

Custom Built Radio Control USS Enterprise that Kinda Flies!

YouTuber TheMiro59 built this flying model of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, which was Captain Jean-Luc Picard's ship in Star Trek: The Next Generation. "The [ship] is a fully functional RC model [illuminated] by super bright LEDs and optic fibers."

As you'll see in the video, it doesn't really fly very well, but it flies never-the-less. Maybe it's just slowly falling... You decide. The video takes you through the process of how he built it, but skip to the 3:00 mark to watch it fly and crash, killing its crew over and over again.

Showtime has released a new video featurette for Dexter season 8 that includes the cast and crew of the awesomely dark series discussing the progression of Debra Morgan. If you haven't caught up on season 7 yet, the featurette and the following is full of spoilers.

The story for the last season "begins six months after LaGuerta’s murder – and Dexter is still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. As Deb struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter’s past."

The series stars Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Aimee Garcia, David Zayas, Geoff Pierson, and James Remar. It returns Sunday, June 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime.

Deb is going through hell in this next season, and it makes me wonder how Dexter is going to fix it. He doesn't want to hurt his sister, he's going to want to fix things and make it better, but how will he do it? It makes me wonder if he's going to turn himself in and take the blame.

What do you think Dexter will do?

LEGO Super Star Destroyer Destroyed by Giant Kraken - STAR WARS

Star Wars fan Iain Heath took a giant Star Wars LEGO Super Star Destroyer, and made it even cooler when he added a giant LEGO Kraken tearing it apart! He's been taking it around and showing it off at different conventions, and it looks like it will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con this year as well which should be cool to see!

Here's some information of the Star Wars LEGO build:

The LEGO Super Star Destroyer set has a bad rap as a big dull gray set. I decided to change that...

After the death of the Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader, the Empire made a last ditch attempt to thwart their enemies by rushing to complete their fleet of Venator class super star destroyers. However, by the time these vessels could be deployed, the Rebel Alliance had already developed its own super weapon, designation KR-KN.

The Legend of the KR-KN: A rare species of Space Kraken, known to exist only in the vast Dreighton Nebula, were sought out using the the Jedi's most powerful clairvoyants, and brought under the Alliance's control by flying super-computers directly into their brains. Many brave Ewok pilots were unwillingly sacrificed to accomplish this difficult task. Far from being cruel to the Kraken, this arrangement was completely symbiotic, as the creatures had evolved to prey on starships, their diet being composed entirely of metals such as quadanium steel.

Here's the story behind it:

This whole build came about thanks to my crazy boss Chris Stolte who is also a LEGO fan. One day the Super Star Destroyer box just appeared on my desk :-). At first we talked about having people at work help construct it. Then we kind of forgot about it. But the product release that our company has been focused on for the past year is code-named "Kraken", so I figured it'd be fun to customize the set around that theme.

When not appearing at conventions, the model's permanent home will be the head offices of Tableau Software in Fremont, Seattle. So if you wanna see it in person, you'd better come work for us! We have crazy shit like this going on all the time.

Disney Teams Up with EA Games to Develop STAR WARS Games

Last month, Disney and Lucasfilm shut down LucasArts and cancelled all of the Star Wars games that were in production. It was a bloody shame. Disney has now announced that they are teaming up with Electronic Arts to develop any other Star Wars games from here on out. EA studios Visceral, DICE, and BioWare will work with Lucasfilm on the development of these new games!

EA should end up making some great Star Wars games. It still sucks that games like Star Wars: 1313 and Battlefront 3 won't be happening anymore, but hopefully in the next few years we'll start seeing some awesome Star Wars games being released. Here's the full press release:

The Walt Disney Company (DIS) and Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) today announced a new multi-year exclusive licensing agreement to develop and publish globally new games based on Star Wars characters and storylines.

Under the agreement, EA will develop and publish new Star Wars titles for a core gaming audience, spanning all interactive platforms and the most popular game genres, while Disney will retain certain rights to develop new titles within the mobile, social, tablet and online game categories.

“This agreement demonstrates our commitment to creating quality game experiences that drive the popularity of the Star Wars franchise for years to come,” said John Pleasants, Co-President of Disney Interactive. “Collaborating with one of the world’s premier game developers will allow us to bring an amazing portfolio of new Star Wars titles to our fans around the world.”

“Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe,” said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. “Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. DICE and Visceral will produce new games, joining the BioWare team which continues to develop for the Star Wars franchise. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Custom Made DEAD SPACE Plasma Cutter That Burns Things

There's nothing like making fictional sci-fi weapons that can actually hurt you. YouTube user AnselmoFanZero created this video showing off his custom made Dead Space plasma cutter that includes lasers which can burn things. The creator says,

DONT ASK FOR PARTS PLANS TUTORIALS....I make and sell only!

Runs on 3x 14500 and 1x 18650 Li Ion cells. Three green 30mW lasers for aiming, 1.5W blue for burning. All parts handmade from scratch...mostly aluminum sheet...handpainted. And YES, its for sale.

So if you want one, you'll just have to learn how to make one on you're own, or you can buy one from this guy. I've never owned a laser that can burn things, so I'm not sure of what the point of having one would be... unless you like burning things.  This is still a really cool replica though! Check it out!

AMC has started production on season 4 of The Walking Dead, and they've released their first behind the scenes look at the highly anticipated season! The video features executive producer Greg Nicotero directing zombie school.

You know what's funny about this? If someone actually set up a zombie class like this, in a Yoga or martial arts class type setting, but for zombiism, I bet people would actually sign up for it. Zombie classes could be the next big thing in health and fitness!

If you saw a Zombie studio pop up in your area would you join?

The Walking Dead, the most watched drama in basic cable history, returned for an exhilarating third season on Sun., Oct. 14, 2012 at 9/8c. In this uncertain world, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of survivors must not only fight the dead, but also face a whole new fear: the living. A 16 episode season, the series Entertainment Weekly called the "greatest thriller ever produced for television' will air in two parts, with the first eight hours kicking off October 14 and returning February 2013 with the final eight episodes.

In the highly anticipated third season, Rick and his fellow survivors continue to seek refuge in a desolate and post-apocalyptic world and soon discover that there are greater forces to fear than just the walking dead. The struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 3 also introduces new characters, including the Governor (David Morrissey) and fan-favorite Michonne (Danai Gurira), along with her zombie pets.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, The Walking Dead stars Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, IronE Singleton, Melissa McBride, Morrissey and Gurira. PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES 2 Teaser Trailer - It Really is About Time

While the original Plants vs. Zombies had a wonderful premise and addicting gameplay, what most people remember fondly is its fantastic sense of humor. From 70's Disco Zombies to Crazy Dave, the title just oozed fun. Since it released back in 2009, PopCap has been busy porting it to pretty much every platform known to man. In the background, however, they have been hard at work on its sequel, fittingly known as Plants vs. Zombies 2, which will be released in July of this year. No screens or gameplay videos yet, but what we do have is a pretty entertaining teaser trailer.

Peep the trailer below and let us know what your craziest ideas are for new plants and zombie units in the comments! Personally, I was a big fan of Potato Mines, so maybe something like Sweet Potato C4 (which would explode on the same spot on all three lanes).

Tom Cruise Officially Signs on for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5

Tom Cruise has officially signed on to produce and star in the fifth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise. Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions aren't saying who is directing the movie yet, but we've been hearing for awhile now that it's going to be Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie.

According to the report, the writer and director of MI:5 will be finalized shortly. J.J. Abrams is producing the movie, but we know for a fact he won't be directing the film. I'll be surprised if McQuarrie doesn't end up directing the film.

I loved Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and hopefully they can come up with another fun action/adventure story to tell for the character!

Concept Art for Darren Aronofsky's Cancelled BATMAN Movie

Update:

Here's a tweet from Darren Aronofsky concerning the art:

Before Warner Bros. decided to move forward with Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, Darren Aronofsky was trying to sell them on his vision of the comic book franchise. It looks and sounds a lot like a Batman Rockabilly style story. It completely reinvents the origin story of Batman, and that's probably why the studio decided to pass on it. The movie was supposed to be an adaptation of Frank Miller's Batman: Year One, but that's not how the Aronofsky and Miller script turned out.

Bruce Wayne isn't a billionaire playboy in this version of the story, instead after the death of his parents Bruce was homeless, living on the streets of Gotham. He ends up living in a car garage owned by Big Al, and his son Little Al. After Big Al dies Little Al eventually becomes Bruce's mentor (Alfred). Batman drives around in a souped up Lincoln Continental as the first Batmobile, and the first Batman costume is just a hockey mask and a cape. While going around fighting crime, he wears his father's ring with an intertwined “T” and “W” engraved on it for Thomas Wayne. He smashed the ring into his victims faces leaving what looked like a bat shaped symbol, which he dubbed "The Bat-Man". There's a more detailed synopsis for the story that you can read here at Archive.org if you're interested.

A lot of people didn't like the idea, but I'd actually like to see this thing brought to life. I think it might have potential to be cool. I like that it's different from everything else. There's also a little bit of Catwoman art that was included as well. Check out the concept art and let us know what you think of it!

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII to Start Shooting Early Next Year

In a recent interview with producer Bryan Burk (via Collider), he confirms that Star Wars: Episode VII will start shooting in early 2014. It's no secret that the film would have to start shooting around that time if Disney and Lucasfilm hope to make their 2015 release date, but here's what Burk had to say about it regardless.

We’re progressing on a schedule to hopefully begin next year, or the beginning of next year, and the location is still kind of floating around in the air all depending on script and a whole bunch of other issues. As I just said, everything is kind of a free-flowing thing, and when we feel like the story level on this script and everything is really coming together and schedules are all working and pieces line up, we prowl ahead, and Star Wars will be no different.

I recently heard a rumor that they were scouting locations in Scotland, which would be a pretty cool place to shoot the movie. Although J.J. Abrams is still currently working with screenwriter Michael Arndt on perfecting the script, so it makes sense that they haven't settled on any locations yet. Burk goes on to talk about the level of interest in the new Star Wars movie saying,

I mean, it’s Star Wars. It’s something that obviously has successfully been handed down from generation to generation in the last 40 years. If I weren’t working on the project, I’d have the same interest as everyone else because it’s something that I, too, am looking forward to seeing where the franchise goes next.

Now we'll just continue to patiently wait for the movie to come out. In the mean time, we'll keep you updated on all of the Star Wars news.

Kristen Wiig Has a Melt Down in GIRL MOST LIKELY Trailer

Roadside Attractions has released a new theatrical trailer for Kristen Wiig's new film Girl Most Likely. It was previously called Imogene, but the title was changed to most likely distance itself from the bad reviews the movie received at the Toronto International Film Festival. It doesn't look too bad, but that's the magic of a trailer. The movie also stars Annette Bening, Matt Dillon, and Darren Criss. I'm a fan of Wiig's work and comedy, so I hope it's really not as bad as the reviews say it is.

Imogene is a failed New York playwright awkwardly navigating the transition from Next Big Thing to Last Year’s News. After both her career and relationship hit the skids, she’s forced to make the humiliating move back home to New Jersey with her eccentric mother and younger brother. Adding further insult to injury, there’s a strange man sleeping in her old bedroom and an even stranger man sleeping in her mother’s bed. Through it all, Imogene eventually realizes that as part of her rebuilding process she must finally come to love and accept both her family and her Jersey roots if she’s ever going to be stable enough to get the hell away from them.

The movie is set to be released on July 19th. Check out the trailer.

Inspiring Full Track from MAN OF STEEL Score

WaterTower Music has released an exciting and moving full track from Man of Steel's musical score created by Hans Zimmer. We've heard parts of this in the trailer, but listening to it in its entirety is pretty amazing. It's different from John Williams' classic score, and that's ok because it still has a very Superman feel to it. I love it, and I'm looking forward to hearing more!

The soundtrack is set to be released on June 11th, and there will be two editions: a regular version with 18 tracks and a deluxe edition that includes six additional tracks. As for the film, it hits theaters on July 14th! Now listen to the track and tell us what you think of it!

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Russell Crowe, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix, and Richard Schiff.

In the film, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Charlie Hunnam Featured in New PACIFIC RIM Promo Poster

The Warner Bros. marketing machine continues to pump out more Pacific Rim goodness. Here's a new promo poster for the film featuring Charlie Hunnam's Jaeger pilot character Raleigh Becket. I just assume this is the first of several posters that will be released in this style.

The film is set to be released in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on July 12th, and it also stars Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke, and Diego Klattenhoff.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Stunning Unused Character Art for OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

Check out this beautiful collection of unused character design concept art for Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful. The art comes from Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. a.k.a. studioADI who made a pitch to work on the film. They didn't end up landing the gig, but it I do like many of the designs they came up with.

We were brought on to design characters for Sam Raimi's OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL and had a big appetite for a combination of prosthetics, animatronics, and digital-enhanced characters. Ours was a different direction than production was headed (it's easy for us to have a big appetite when we're not paying the bills). Ultimately, the job went to our friends at KNB.

I thought Oz was a great movie. I especially enjoyed the design work. Even though none of this work was used, it's still some really cool stuff, check it out!

The concept art below was created by Michael Kutsche.

Warner Bros. has released a new character poster for The Hangover Part III featuring Justin Bartha as Doug, who ends up getting kidnapped in this sequel. Poor Doug, always seems to miss out on the crazy action.

This is the final chapter in director Todd Phillips' Wolfpack adventure, and I really do hope they burn Vegas to the ground in this one because that would be epic. "This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off."

The movie also stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Sasha Barrese, Gillian Vigman, John Goodman and Jamie Chung

The Hangover Part III hits theaters on May 24th!
