Last month, 20th Century Fox premiered some new footage from the James Mangold-directed film The Wolverine at CinemaCon. The footage includes a really great shot of Wolverine fighting the Silver Samurai, like you see in the screenshot above. This Con trailer is so cool it makes me want to fight Hugh Jackman for fun. I think I could take him.

The movie also stars Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee. The Wolverine comes out on July 26th, 2013.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, the film takes Wolverine (Jackman) to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

ENDER'S GAME - First Look at Ben Kingsley as Mazer

Here's our first look at Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham in the Gavin Hood-directed adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Rackham trains Ender in the movie. The image was released in anticipation of the first trailer for the movie which is set to be released on May 7th. Here's what Kingsley had to say about the character in an interview with EW,

In the script, which I think is beautifully written, what come across is the authority and mystery. There’s quite a lot said about him in the story  before you see him — by the recruits and by his fellow officers — and that’s useful as far as preparations.

He goes on to talk about the tattoo on his face saying,

Every gesture in the tattoo carries family history, family struggles – it’s your past. I was so enthralled. He’s in quite a contained, stylized uniform but then this wonderful face tells his warrior history.

The movie also stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Nonso Anozie, Stevie Ray Dillmore, Andrea Powell, Moises Arias, Conor Carroll, Aramis Knight, Brendan Meyer, Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak, Suraj Parthasarathy, and Khylin Rhambo.

The movie is set to be released in theaters in IMAX on November 1st, 2013.

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer.

Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite.  Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Check out this radical series of of geeky hockey jerseys created by Canadian artist, geek, and hockey enthusiast Dave Delisle. Each one is based on a film, TV show, comic book character, or video game. If I had to choose a team to be on from this set, I'd have to be on team Boomstick. There's a ton of great jersey designs that I know you'll love! You'll have to look them over and tell us what team you'd be on. I wish there was a real geek hockey league with teams like this that we could root for.

A jersey isn’t just a glorified sweater. Or some sweaty uniform that gets worn during a game. Jerseys are much more than that — they’re the tuxedo of geeks.

Worn all over the world, for any occasion, they demand attention. But something has always been missing from jerseys, a bit of je ne sais quoi, you might say..

Select jersey designs are available to purchase online.

Trailer for the Teenage Assassin Film VIOLET AND DAISY

This is the first trailer for the teenage assassin thriller Violet and Daisy, which stars Saoirse Ronan (The Host) and Alexis Bledel (Sin City). The movie was directed by Precious writer Geoffrey Fletcher, and it also stars James Gandolfini. The two actresses play a pair of young assassins whose target proves to be much more involved than they had initially planned. I initially wasn't really interested in seeing this movie, but this trailer shows us a solid looking film with great visuals. The cinematography is impressive. There's no release date yet for the film, but maybe it will come out sometime this summer. Check out the trailer!

Violet (Alexis Bledel) and Daisy (Saoirse Ronan) are a pair of gum-cracking teenage assassins who casually snuff out crime figures in New York City, distracted only by the fact that a concert by their favorite pop idol Barbie Sunday has suddenly been canceled.

Determined to raise cash for some Barbie Sunday dresses, the duo takes on a new hit job, only to discover a kind of reckoning in the form of sad-sack shut-in (James Gandolfini) who is dying alone of terminal cancer. He persuades the duo to kill him out of mercy, prompting an odyssey of self-examination that catapults the junior enforcers into a world beyond Barbie Sunday and bullets for pay.

From Academy Award-winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher (PRECIOUS) comes a mesmerizing hybrid of New York City crime fable and existential coming-of-age drama. In VIOLET & DAISY teenage kicks match wits with adult-world turmoil, placing three wounded souls into a line of fire none expected — themselves.

I don't know how I missed this until today, but here's Tobey Maguire's badass screen test for Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man film. As you'll see, it's heavily influenced by Bruce Lee. It gives us a very different vision of Raimi's Spider-Man, one I'm kind of sad that we'll never see. At least the vision lives on in this test footage. Check it out!

Here's the first international trailer for 20th Century Fox's CGI animated adventure Walking With Dinosaurs. They've made a realistic looking movie that tells its story with no dialogue and limited narrative. The movie doesn't interest me at all, but maybe there's some kids out there who will enjoy it. The movie was directed by Barry Cook (Arthur Christmas, Mulan) and Neil Nightingale, and the story follows two brothers looking to follow in their father's footsteps which leads to a showdown with dinosaurs in the Arctic North.

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. "Walking with Dinosaurs" is the ultimate immersive experience, utilizing state of the art 3D to put audiences in the middle of a thrilling and epic prehistoric world, where an underdog dino triumphs to become a hero for the ages.

The movie comes out on December 20th, 2013. Check out the international trailer and let us know if it looks like something you'd want to check out.

Will Chadwick Boseman End Up Playing BLACK PANTHER

$

Our friends at Latino-Review are reporting another big Marvel casting rumor today saying that 42 star Chadwick Boseman is the studio's top choice to play Black Panther

The choice makes sense for Marvel as Kevin Feige is known for going after up-and-coming actors and turning them into big stars. Chris Hemsworth is a perfect example of this. Getting actors at this stage in the game also allows Marvel to sign them up for multiple films on the cheap.

Boseman was fantastic in 42. He's a solid actor, and if he ends up landing the role of Black Panther, I think he'd be perfect for it. There's been no confirmation of the news. There's no deal set in place. He's just at the top of the studio's very short list.

We've been hearing for awhile that Marvel was looking to make a Black Panther movie. If this is true, then they must be gearing up to finally give us the movie! It probably won't happen until Phase 3 of Marvel's cinematic plan, but ya never know! He might show up in The Avengers 2

What do you all think about Boseman possibly playing Black Panther?

First Look at Rhino in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

It looks like we may have our first look at Aleksei Sytsevich a.k.a. The Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Apparently, this is Paul Giamatti's stunt double, but it does show us what the character is going to look like.

The photos come from a big chase sequence that was shot recently in streets of Rochester, New York. The sequence involved the theft of an Oscorp armored van by some villains in a tow truck, and The Rhino was the driver.

There's a fun video below from Seven Webheads that points out more than enough details to prove to you that this is, in fact, The Rhino. To be honest, all you really have to do is look at the face. I still enjoyed listening to this Russian guy excitedly talk about it though!

Amusing Honest Trailer for IRON MAN 2

Iron Man 2 wasn't the best Marvel movie that's been made, but even though it had its story issues I thought it was still an entertaining film. This new Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies points out exactly why I think that as well, which I thought was funny.

Iron Man 2 should have been so much better, but they ended up rushing through it with a half-assed script. The video comes with the following note,

Before you see Iron Man 3, revisit the film that should lower your expectations... Iron Man 2! The forgettable placeholder while they worked on the script for The Avengers.

Enjoy the latest honest trailer!

Robert Downey Jr. Renegotiating Contract with Marvel

During an interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show, Robert Downey Jr. dropped a little gem about his continuance with the Marvel universe. When asked if he would be back for more, he said:

I don't know…

I had a long contract with them, and now we're gonna renegotiate.

He then proceeded to wink multiple times. It's not a definitive no, however; it is not a yes. At least he's having discussions with Marvel about returning! So if they can work something out, maybe we'll see him in one or two more Marvel films! Watch the clip of the interview and let us know what you think of his reaction.

Of course, I don’t think that anyone else could fill RDJ’s shoes as Tony Stark. If he doesn’t sign another contract, do you think it would be worth recasting the character?

Until next time…

Captain America: The Winter Solider is currently shooting in Los Angeles and we have our first look at Anthony Mackie in costume as The Falcon filming some action scenes in front of a giant green screen. I assume the wings will be added in post-production. The costume looks like I expected. Maybe we'll see a couple different variations of it throughout the film. What do you think of the military style outfit that he's wearing here?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier picks up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

The Anthony and Joe Russo directed movie also stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford. The movie is set to be released on April 4th, 2014.

Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender have both joined a new big screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Portman is set to play Lady Macbeth, and Fassbender is set the play the title role.

The new film is being directed by director Justin Kurzel (Snowtown). The movie will retain the play's 11th century setting and will also use the original dialogue. The story is about a ruthlessly ambitious Scottish lord who takes the throne with the help of his scheming wife and three witches. The report says that the script "is understood to be a visceral approach to the story including significant battle scenes."

Fassbender and Portman are going to make a fantastic team in this adaptation. They played an onscreen couple in Terrence Malick's untitled project that shot last year. They were also supposed to work together on Jane Got a Gun, which the actress is currently shooting, but Fassbender left the project before it started production. Portman will next be seen as Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World.

Kelsey Grammer Cast as Villain in TRANSFORMERS 4

Who would have thought Kelsey Grammer would make a good villain? Well, if you have seen his Starz series Boss, then you know the guy can be evil as hell if he wants to be. He's so good on that show. The actor is looking to harness the villain within him again as he's just been cast as the bad guy in Michael Bay's Transformers 4.

According to the report, Grammer will play a character named Harold Attinger, who is described as a "counter intelligence guy". I have no doubt that Grammer is going to make a ruthless villain in the movie. He joins the previously cast Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, and Nicola Peltz.

There are not many plot details on the film yet, but everything is changing for it, such as the cast and robot designs. The whole thing is going to have a different look and feel. Bay also described the fourth film as being a "chase from Hell." It's set to be released June 27th, 2014.

Are you excited to hear that Grammer will be playing a villain in this movie?
