Wife Auctions off her Gamer Husband on Craigslist

$

I won't lie, I used to have a problem with playing video games. I was addicted, I couldn't stop playing. There were nights I wouldn't sleep. Being married it pissed my wife off something fierce and it caused some problems, so thankfully I got it under control. Because I went through that I can completely under stand where this woman is coming from.

21 year old Alyse Baddley wasn't getting enough quality time with her husband Kyle because he was too busy Modern Warfare 3. He basically cut her off. She got frustratingly pissed off and told her mother-in-law, “I’m going to sell your son on Craigslist.” And she did... with the help of her mother-in-law.

The advertisement said:

I am selling my 22 year old husband. He enjoys eating and playing video games all day. Easy to maintain, just feed and water every 3-5 hours. You must have Internet and space for gaming. Got tired of waiting so free to good home. If acceptable replacement is offered will trade.

She ended up getting several replies from people according to ABC news, "One woman offered to train Kyle and give him back. Another respondent, a man, wrote that he was already house-trained and would love to trade himself for Kyle, adding that he preferred reading books to playing video games. But a few readers evidently took the ad more seriously, writing to Alyse that they were concerned about her relationship with Kyle."

The threat seemed to work, Kyle put down his controller and they are headed to Florida for Thanksgiving. Alyse and Kyle married in 2010, right before Kyle headed for Afghanistan to complete his military service.

Alyse had this to say in a recent interview, "The ad was all just a joke, and I love my husband and he loves me. I didn’t ever think anyone would reply to this, but it’s gotten so much attention, which is kind of cool.”

Syfy has ordered a pilot based on the DC Comics character Booster Gold! "Fringe" writer Andrew Kreisberg is going to write up the one hour pilot.

Have to wonder if Booster Gold's appearance in the last season of Smallville had something to do with the interest in him now.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the story will center on Booster Gold, a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back to the present in hopes of becoming the greatest super hero of all time. Instead of chasing criminals, however, his main priority is chasing fame and money. But Booster Gold discovers that being a hero takes more than just a megawatt smile, and that the future doesn’t happen without first protecting the present.

What do you all think? Will you watch the show?

Horror fans it is time to announce another remake Variety reports that the unlikely 80’s film Chopping Mall is slatete for remake from Dry County Entertainment. The project is being directed by Robert Hall, who brought us Laid to Rest and Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2. This project re-teams Hall with screenwriter and producing partner Kevin Bocarde.

Jim Wynorski wrote and directed the original, which was produced by Julie and Roger Corman. The movie was initially released in 1986 under the title Killbots, and focused on “a group of teenagers trapped inside a shopping mall and hunted by the building's new security force: state of the art robots with a taste for blood.”

Hall’s version of Chopping Mall will take a supernatural terror route, and will downplay the science fiction elements. Check out the trailer for the original film below and share your thoughts:

I am not a fan of remakes typically, but this sounds like a good choice actually. I did not know there wre many die hard fans of the original to warrant a remake though. What are your thougths?

Real Life Super Villains Fail

"The legion of goons."

In a world where we have mostly lame real life super heroes (some not...but most), it's only fitting we should have equally fitting lame real life super villains.

They come in all shapes and sizes, but mostly with the names and antics of comic book villains, s*** talking low level goons, and what looks like if Smoke and Quan Chi from Mortal Kombat had a love child.

Some are serious, some are just looking for laughs...either way I'm laughing. Also, if you can stand it, try to play them all at once...hilarious.

NBC has ordered a pilot for a comedy script with Sarah Silverman as the main star.

The pilot will star Silverman as a woman readjusting to single life following a decade long live-in relationship. That sounds like her real life a little bit maybe?

Silverman is set to co-write the project with Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder, who co-wrote her Comedy Central series The Sarah Silverman Program.

Executive producers on the comedy include Ron Howard, Silverman, Sterling, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo.

I think Sarah is pretty funny actually. Did any of you watch her on The League this past week? That was hilarious!

So what do you all think? What's your favorite Sarah moment? Who here thinks she is a terrible Comedian/Actress? I would love some feedback.

KUNG FU PANDA 2 scribes to pen Disney's WISH LIST for Reese Witherspoon

Disney has found it’s writers for a new Reese Witherspoon comedy. THR reports that Kung Fu Panda 2’s Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger are set to write the comedy fantasy Wish List. The film is being produced by Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures.

This long-gestating project was first set up at Disney in 2001, so their hiring breathes some ne life to the project. Witherspoon became attached to star in the film initially planned as a vehicle for a male comedy star. The story centers on “a career-oriented adult whose perfectly tailored life is thrown for a loop when all the wishes she made as a child are suddenly granted.”

Aibel and Berger have worked on Kung Fu Panda and Monsters vs Aliens, as well as TV’s King of the Hill. They are currently hard at work writing Hasbro’s adaptation of Candlyland. I am not really a huge fan of Witherspoon, but I have a feeling this film will do well and be a hit with families.

J.J. Abrams answers fan questions on Quora!

J.J. Abrams has been answering fan questions on his Quora page. Quora is a user generated database of information (similar to Wikipedia and Yahoo Answers) that is based on people’s questions and answers. All questions asked have to be information based. So, for example, a question like “Who might Benicio Del Toro be playing in Star Trek 2?” would work. Not that he’d answer, but, it’s an objective question that provides information to readers.

With Super 8 just arriving on Blu-ray, the majority fo the questions that Abrams answered below are related to the film. Below are the questions he answered on Monday morning November 21:
What is JJ Abrams’ favorite moment in Super 8?

I love Joel’s performance — one of my favorite moments is when he’s being held by this huge alien and is terrified but also brave and hopeful. It’s especially amazing to me, since he was actually just standing on the ground and I was just off camera waving a huge piece of cardboard at him to make his hair move as if the creature was breathing on him. He did such an amazing job. Also, the train crash was really fun to film. But my favorite moment is such a small thing: Joel telling Elle’s character about what happened to his mother — and how it was bad when she died, but that his dad got the necklace she wore back, and gave it to him. He’s just so sweet there, so hopeful, and then his heart sinks, all on camera.

Are any of the characters in Super 8 based on JJ Abrams as a young filmmaker?

The chubby director was partially me, because I was a chubby director. But I relate most to the main kid, sort of because of the way he interacts with the world. That is to say, he’s sort of an outsider. Not an athlete, not wildly confident. A romantic, but unable to act on it. I felt a lot like that when I was a kid.
What would you ask J.J. Abrams on Quora?

Aaron Sorkin may write Steve Jobs biopic for Sony

Aaron Sorkin may be taking on another high-tech writing gig. THR reports (via E! Online ) that The Social Network writer could be bringing the late Steve Jobs to the big screen.

Here is what Sorkin said in a statement:
“Sony has asked me to write the movie and it’s something I’m strongly considering. Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages,” he said. “It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it.”
The film would be based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs, which sold more than 379,000 copies in its first week on shelves. Sorkin is reading the book now while he considers Sony’s offer. He went on to talk about Jobs:
“He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker,” Sorkin said of Jobs. “He’s probably inspired [my 11-year-old daughter] Roxy more than he’s inspired me… she plays with all his toys.”
What are your thoughts on Sorkin’s possible involvement? Who would you like to see play Jobs at different stages of his life?

THE GIRLS ON FILM: Great Movie Scenes Recreated With All Women

Ever want to see some of your favorite movies scenes with women playing the men? Well you are getting the chance now folks!

The Girls on Film is an interactive series made by Ashleigh Harrington and Jeff Hammond. They find great movie scenes between men, and recreate them with women.

This site is a original, fun and eye-opening way to watch your favorite movie scenes with a twist.

Here's some of my favorite ones from their site.

For the Twi-Hards out there:

The Twilight Saga

Directed by Jeff Hammond, starring Ashleigh Harrington, Jenna Scott and Jeff Hammond.

The Fight Club Cocktail

Directed by Jeff Hammond, starring Ashleigh Harrington and Cat McCormick. Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk. Screenplay by Jim Uhls.

Those are just two of the awesome videos they have posted on their website!

Check out the rest here at this link. I personally find this project amazing and intriguing! I can't wait to see more.

A good film entertains but also creates discussion. We think The Girls on Film is doing both. said Hammond.  We have a lot of fun shooting the show and experimenting with how far we can go creating our own version. And we love getting feedback from our audience.

Speaking of creating discussion, let me ask all of you a question or two:

Does having women in these roles make you feel differently when you watch them? For example with the Fight Club video: Was it harder to watch it with women hitting each other versus watching it in its original form aka with men hitting each other instead?

Ken Watanabe offered The Colonel in AKIRA

It looks like Warner Bros has fiinally cast a Japanese actor in Jaume Collet-Serra’s adaptation of Akira. Twitch is reporting that Ken Watanabe has been offered the role of The Colonel, that was initially offered to Gary Oldman. Apparently, Oldman and WB could not come to terms on a deal. Watanabe's other U.S. films have both been from Warner Bros., so this is a good fit.

I think that Watanabe was great in Inception and will be a great addition to this cast. What are your thoughts on this news?

A new trailer for The Grey has arrived thanks to Open Road Films. Joe Carnahan (Smoking Aces, The A-Team) directed this action thriller, which stars Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale and Nonso Anozie.

Here is the synopsis:

In The Grey, Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out.
