No one will ever play Conan like Arnold Schwarzenegger did. He was just such a badass, and here's an amazing CG illustration by GCHUB bladeflush that pays tribute to the legend. As a fan I'm really excited for the upcoming sequel that's currently being developed called The Legend of Conan, which sounds crazy awesome. Bruce Campbell and Fede Alvarez have brought us a great new TV spot for Evil Dead, which looks amazingly horrific! The spot is set to air during the Walking Dead season finale this Sunday, and it's packed full of great new footage.
The movie stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore. It comes out on April 5th, 2013. I seriously can't wait to see this terrifying awesomeness!
In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington's new action movie 2 Guns, but it looks like it's gonna be a pretty damn entertaining film! The trailer promises us some badass action mixed with some decent comedy and a couple of fun characters. The movies also has a strong supporting cast that includes Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos, and James Marsden. 2 Guns seems to be a movie that's going to be worth checking out! The team behind the Nightwing fan film Batman: Nightwing are back with a Star Wars short that they shot called Star Wars with Lens Flares. We've seen a lot of Star Wars lens flare videos since it was announced that J.J. Abrams would be directing Star Wars, but I seriously don't think he's going to use them in the film, that's a Star Trek staple, and I'm sure he'll come up with a new look and feel for Star Wars.
The film was directed by Danny Shepherd, and here's what he had to say about it...
A short action scene centering around the force abilities of a Sith vs. a Jedi, But of course, what's a Star Wars fight without some good old fashioned lightsabers actiony goodness!
We are huge Star Wars fans and knew we had to make a video once we found out JJ Abrams would be directing Episode VII. So we shot a brief yet crazy, "force" heavy lightsaber fight! Hope you guys like it!

Self proclaimed Destroyer of Cards, Amy Demicco showed up at the PAX East convention in Boston sporting a cosplay dress, helmet, and axe made entirely out of Magic: The Gathering cards. For those of you Magic obsessed fans, I wouldn't worry, I doubt she cut up any crazy good or rare cards. If she did... oh well.
House of Cards star Kate Mara has been cast alongside Johnny Depp in Transcendence, the directorial debut of cinematographer Wally Pfister which will be produced by frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan. There's no word on who Mara is playing specifically, but the movie sounds like it's going to be really cool, and she makes a terrific addition to the cast which also includes Rebecca Hall.
From what we know of the film right now, the story revolves around three scientists, Max and a husband and wife team, Will and Evelyn, who "have been developing a programming code for the world’s first fully self-aware computer." Depp plays a scientist whose brain is uploaded into the supercomputer creating the world’s first machine that can think for itself. The story contains themes of singularity and nanotechnology. A group of anti-technology terrorists assassinate Will, Evelyn uploads his brain into a prototype supercomputer. Although she at first finds the experiment seems to have gone wrong, before too long Evelyn finds Will responding in computer form.
She goes on to connect Will to the Internet so he can help make further scientific breakthroughs. Will asks Evelyn to connect a microphone and a camera up to the computer so he can see and speak to her as well.
Will creates a backup of himself to every computer in the world, and furthers his work through accessing online indexes. (Kosove told TheWrap this plot point is no longer in the script.) When the anti-technology organization finds out, they try to steal the supercomputer and destroy it, but Will no longer needs the computer to survive.
The film is scheduled to be released on April 25th, 2014.
Here's the last Jaeger character poster for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim which features the United States' Gipsy Danger. This is the one that gets a lot of action in the trailer that's been released. All of these Jaegers are pretty badass. It would be great if one day we actually got around to building some real ones!

Robert Redford recently joined the cast of Captain America: The Winter Solider. He will be playing a senior S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the story named Pierce. This casting was unexpected, and I never thought I'd see Redford take on a role in a movie like this. When talking to The LA Times recently the actor confirmed that he's going to be in the movie, and explains why he took on the role,
I'm doing this film because it's different. It's a new thing for me. I like the idea of stepping into new territory. I'm excited by it. I also think it's a good bunch of people who really know what they're doing.
I think these films are really powerful. I think they're great. This is the kind of film I would have loved to see as a kid.
Redford's an awesome actor, and it's going to be great to see him take on something different from anything he's done before.
The film stars Chris Evans with Anthony Mackie in the role of the Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Scarlett Johansson, and Cobie Smulders. It arrives in 2D and 3D theaters on April 4th, 2014.
Earlier this week we brought you your first look at the cast of the new Zombieland TV series being developed for Amazon. Now we have a poster for the series featuring Little Rock (Izabela Vidovic), Tallahassee (Kirk Ward), Wichita (Maiara Walsh), and Columbus (Tyler Ross) looking at a zombie wasteland.
The story is basically the same as the movie, and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. Creator Paul Wernick had this to say in a previous statement, "Zombieland will strive to break the rules—action, adventure, thrills, chills and laughs and all packed into a half hour format. This is not your average show but Amazon is not your average network."
I think the cast looks fine, but I hope the actual series doesn't end up looking as low budget as this badly photoshopped poster does.

Marvel has announced that they will be releasing two different versions of Shane Black's Iron Man 3--one version will specifically be for China. I'm sure fans will eventually get to see both versions. The Chinese version will include actress Fan Bingbing, and feature exclusive bonus footage that was specifically shot for the Chinese audience. Here are all the details according to the press release...
Marvel Studios and DMG announced that a Chinese version of Iron Man 3will be released in China on a date to be announced in the near future. DMG, a Chinese media and entertainment company, collaborated with Marvel Studios on the Chinese elements in the film, and is marketing and distributing the film in China. While Marvel and DMG have decided not to apply for co-production status in China, the film includes significant Chinese elements. Renowned Chinese actor Wang Xueqi will appear in both the studio’s Chinese version of the film and in its international and domestic US version. Both versions of the film include Iron Man 3 footage filmed in Beijing in December. The Chinese version of the film will also feature a special appearance of China’s top actress, Fan Bingbing, and will offer specially prepared bonus footage made exclusively for the Chinese audience. Marvel Studios’ experience working on this film with Fan Bingbing and Wang Xueqi and in shooting in China has been very positive and has created a springboard for future collaboration with China’s talented stars and its growing film and television industry. The Iron Man cast and filmmakers look forward to bringing Iron Man back to China.
It will be interesting to see how different the two versions of the film are.
If you want to keep up on the new trends in Japan, the latest fad for Japanese schoolgirls is recreating anime fight scenes inspired by Dragon Ball!
The fight move they are recreating from the show is called the Kamehameha, which is basically the hadouken move that Ryu and Ken use in Street Fighter. I have no idea what prompted these girls to start doing this, but it's hilariously awesome. Check out the pics!
Check out this hilarious new commercial for Star Trek: The Video Game in which William Shatner comes face to face with his old nemesis Gorn, and they battle it out! This ad actually turned out to be quite entertaining and action-packed. Fans of the original series are going to love it!

Check out this adorably twisted zombie horror short called Dead Friends directed by Stephen W. Martin. I guess you can consider this a holiday short as well because the main character carries an Easter Bunny stuffed animal around with her. The story follows a bullied little girl who brings a little boy back from the dead. The film ended up being pretty solid; I liked the outcome. At the nine minute mark, you'll see one of the best kid psycho faces ever!
Nine year old Lola Turtle's only companion is her treasured and tattered stuffed bunny, Mister Wimperbottom... until she finds a way to grow her very own 'Dead' best friend.
The director says that the short was shot in two days and completed in eight days from beginning to end for the Crazy 8's film festival in Vancouver. Check it out and let us know what you think of it!
Producer Bruce Campbell and director Fede Alvarez showed up at WonderCon yesterday and showed off some more insane footage from their upcoming horror film Evil Dead, which is going to scare the shit out of people. After they showed off the new footage they talked about the film and the franchise. A fan asked Campbell if we would see the new Evil Dead remake merge with the old Evil Dead. Campbell told Alvarez that he should answer the question, and his answer was something that I think every Evil Dead fan would want to see!
Alvarez said his dream would be to see the two franchises end up combining into one horrific movie blood bath. He revealed that he'd like to make a sequel to the remake he just finished filming while Sam Raimi worked on making Army of Darkness 2, and then after that the two Evil Dead worlds would collide in an epic seventh movie to which Campbell replied with a grin... "I think seven is a nice number."
This actually sounds like a plan that Raimi and Campbell could get behind! If this remake does well, there's a very strong possibility that this Evil Dead crossover movie could happen! It's exciting to think of the possibilities! While they're at it, they should also throw in the female characters from Drag Me To Hell!
There's no confirmation that this is the actual plan, Alvarez made it clear that he was not speaking officially and that this was just his dream for the franchise. If it happens though, I'll gladly take it! Raimi is planning on writing Army of Darkness 2 this summer.
This was the most entertaining panel at WonderCon, Campbell is so quick witted and really entertained the crowd. We'll have the full panel for you to watch soon, so stay tuned for that!
Pacific Rim looks to be an epic affair and one that can't come soon enough. Everything I have seen looks spectacular!
The GeekTyrant crew was at WonderCon and caught the panel for the movie, which featured director Guillermo del Toro. To help promote the blockbuster Warner Bros. has released trading cards that feature detailed breakdowns of five of the Jaegers (Giant Mech Robots).
The cover art for the prequel graphic novel has also been unveiled, which was done by none other than Alex Ross! The comic will provide back stories to many of the main characters in the movie, and will also give us a look at the early incarnations of the Jaegers.

Fast and Furious 6 isn't even out yet, but a screening was held in LA recently, and supposedly the crowd reaction was beyond the studio's wildest expectations. Vin Diesel recently posted on his Facebook page and hinted at the fact that the seventh film we've been hearing about in the franchise will start shooting this summer!
There was an early screening in LA this week of Fast 6. The crowd reaction was surreal... and their demand for the continuation was powerful... It's remarkable to think I first embodied this character in 1999... and the evolution continues.
P.s. Filming begins this summer in LA, where it all started... talk about a studio in sync with the audience...
