J.J. Abrams is producing a really cool sounding new sci-fi TV series for FOX called Human, which is currently in production. We have a series of photos from the set of the show giving us our first look at Karl Urban and his human-like android partner.

Urban plays a character named John Kennex, "a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers and left him critically injured." The story is set in the future when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved androids. It's been described as an action packed buddy cop show. Check out the pics!

METAL GEAR: Solid Art by Eddie Nunez Shows No One Gets the Drop on Snake

In honor of the announcement of Metal Gear Solid 5 (previously known as The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes) I thought some old school Snake would be fitting, and Eddie Nunez (known as MiaCabrera on Deviant Art) totally delivered. It should also be noted that I seemingly channeled Point Break era Keanu in that last statement.

Hmmm...

Anyway Eddie's take on Snake is great, and I'm a huge fan of his art style so it's a match made in heaven, at least for me. The cherry on top is the just alerted guard, exclamation point and all, around the corner. You can catch more of Mr. Nunez's work in his Deviant Art gallery, and make sure to let him know if you like this as much as I do.

MGM Set to Develop TOMB RAIDER Reboot

MGM announced recently that they have teamed up with GK Films to bring us a reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise! It was previously revealed that the Tomb Raider reboot is going to be in line with the latest game. I've always been a fan of Tomb Raider, I grew up playing the games, and it's going to be great to see a new action-packed gritty take on the character Lara Croft. As of right now Iron Man screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are whipping up a script.

Crystal Dynamics and studio head Darrell Gallagher had this to say in previous interview,

They are working from this new take that we’ve given them. It’s a good partnership. We’re seeing the challenges through the same lens. It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise. We didn’t want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old ‘Tomb Raider’ films.

Producer Graham King went on to explain that the film...

...is really the story before she became Lara Croft, so it is a character piece. It does have a lot of really great characters, but it's a lot of action and a lot of fun, and for me, it's something very different. I've not really done a movie like that before, but I really gravitated to rebooting this franchise and we're going to give it a shot.

As for who should play Lara Croft next time around here's a list of actresses that some of you readers came up with... Camilla Luddington, Olivia Wilde, Summer Glau, Nora Tschirner, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rebecca Hall, Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lyndsy Fonseca. Any of those actresses work for you?

This movie has the potential to be badass, and I hope that's what we end up getting!

Ford Talks STAR WARS and Mending Relationship with Lucas

While we wait for an official announcement that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher will be reprising their roles in Star Wars: Episode VII, Ford talks about returning to the Star Wars franchise, the Indiana Jones franchise, and mending bridges with George Lucas.

Here's what he had to say to MTV about being drawn back into these classic franchise that he helped start,

It might be nice, depending on the circumstances, to revisit any one of those characters. What interests me now is the opportunity to work at all and to work in ambitious projects. I can't think that way. What I'm looking for is the next opportunity, the next ambitious opportunity. It doesn't matter if it's one of those. If it's one of those, great. If it's not, that's fine too.

With everything we've heard, it sounds like Ford will be back as Han Solo, which is going to be so cool to see. But as you may or may not know Ford has criticized Lucas in the past mocking his ability as a writer, when asked about the possibility of working with him again and how he feels about Lucas now he said,

I might have said things in the past that were characterizations of how I felt at the time. That was then. This is now. It doesn't matter.

So there yah have it! It's all good now because it doesn't matter. Lucas isn't writing or directing Star Wars: Episode VII so I imagine he won't have to work with him much anyway.

New PACIFIC RIM Poster Features Crimson Typhoon Jaeger

Legendary Pictures has unleashed another radical character poster for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim which features China's Crimson Typhoon Jaeger. I'm excited to see what the special abilities are for all of these giant robots when the fight the Kaiju. I wonder if we'll end up seeing character posters for the Kaiju monsters

The epic looking sci-fi action film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris ElbaRinko KikuchiCharlie Day, and Ron Perlman. The film is set to hit theaters July 12th, 2013. Here's the synopsis...

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even theJaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee —who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Bruce Campbell Talks ARMY OF DARKNESS 2!

One day Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are finally going to make that Evil Dead 4/Army of Darkness 2 movie! Apparently Raimi is going to start writing it this summer with his brother, and I hope they come up something badass! Both Raimi and producer Rob Tapert have talked about it, and now Campbell himself weighs in on the highly anticipated film! When asked about it in a recent interview with Empire the actor said,

The reception to this movie [Fede Alvarez' remake] has been pretty good so far, so it encouraged Sam and I to go, 'well crap, maybe we should dust the old chainsaw off', " laughs Campbell. "If this movie helps us make another Army Of Darkness – Army Of Darkness 2 – then so be it.

So there's another positive thing that comes from making the remake! Because of the remake we are probably going to get that fourth Evil Dead movie starring Campbell! He goes on to say,

Evil Dead IV, Army Of Darkness 2... however you want to slice it. It’s random ideas in Sam’s head. Let’s not go crazy here. He’s just finished doing Oz, and he’s going to take some time off and he says he’s going to work on it this summer with his brother. He could be smoking cigars at a lakeside cabin for all I know, or he might actually be working, who knows?

When asked where he thinks the next movie should start off he explained,

I would think the post-Apocalyptic because it gives great possibilities for an Omega Man movie, and who he might be fighting against. It would be a very interesting world. But I’m fine either way. I’m sure Sam will concoct some ridiculous story and an outrageous journey, so I don’t really care where it starts and ends.

The fun thing is working again with Sam Raimi. That’s the only reason to do these incredibly difficult movies than work for a guy who you really like working with and who you respect.

He goes on to discus the character Ash explaining that he isn't to be directed by anyone other than Raimi, and he's excited to pick up the blood stained chainsaw after 20 years!

He’d still be an idiot and a loser and a blagger," laughs Campbell. "I look forward to him coming back and screwing things up all over again!

So do I! If this movie happens, and I'm pretty confident that it will, it's going to be gloriously awesome!

Real Time Character Demo From Activision Is Shockingly Realistic

It would appear that the ultra realistic future of video games is on the horizon. I'm usually pretty wary about R&D videos as I often find out after the fact it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors, but this is still pretty impressive. For tech geeks who understand the lingo, here's the description posted in the vid...

This animated character is being rendered in real-time on current video card hardware, using standard bone animation. The rendering techniques, as well as the animation pipeline are being presented at GDC 2013, "Next Generation Character Rendering" on March 27.
The original high resolution data was acquired from Light Stage Facial Scanning and Performance Capture by USC Institute for Creative Technologies, then converted to a 70 bones rig, while preserving the high frequency detail in diffuse, normal and displacement composite maps.
It is being rendered in a DirectX11 environment, using advanced techniques to faithfully represent the character's skin and eyes.

Note: Yes, this is the same source data from ICT used by Nvidia at GTC, but rendered using a completely different tech.

Check out this video (which was shown at the 2013 Game Developers Conference) and let us know what you think! How does the future of gaming look to you?

Want some more bloody Evil Dead awesomeness?! Here's a crazy new clip from the film that features a pretty horrific scene of demonic insanity. It starts out with Jessica Lucas' character hanging out in a bathroom looking into a mirror, from there things just get intensely violent.

The horror film was produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, who both love what director Fede Alvarez has done with it. It stars Jane LevyShiloh FernandezLou Taylor Pucci, and Elizabeth Blackmore.

The story follows five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Evil Dead will finally hit theaters on April 5th! Click here to watch the Green Band trailer and here to watch the awesomely bloody Red-Band one. Enjoy the latest clip!

Guy Dressed As Alan From THE HANGOVER Knocks Out Jerk on Las Vegas Strip!

I usually get a bit disgusted when I see street fights posted to the web, but when I see a guy dressed up as Alan from The Hangover? Who doesn't click that?! Luckily this guy portraying the character made famous by Zach Galifianakis is not the antagonist, so that makes it a bit easier to watch. Seeing Alan kick some ass is insane! You see right hooks, head butts and everything in between. Skip to the 2 minute mark for the argument and action, and then go back to the beginning to see the aftermath and Alan posing for pictures. Crazy right? Also note the rowdiness of the crowd and think twice before you start a scuffle on the Las Vegas strip.

I'm excited to report that FX has renewed It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for a 10th season! How great is that?! I love this show, it's one of the funniest things that TV has to offer so I couldn't be happier that the show is still going strong!

The ninth season of the series, which stars Danny DeVito, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, and Kaitlin Olson will debut in September 2013 and the tenth season will premiere in Fall 2014.

It was also announced that it will be moving FOX's new network FXX. Basically FX will focus on drama series and FXX will focus on comedy. It's set to launch on September 2nd.

The network also renewed The League for a sixth season, which will premiere sometime in the fall of 2014. Their latest series Legit was also renewed for a second season.

FXX also is looking to launch four new comedies in 2014, with six more the next year. It will also gradually role out late-night programming. The plan right now is to expand Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell to five nights a week. A couple new comedies we'll probably see include How and Why from Charlie Kaufman, and Chozen from the Eastbound & Down team, Grant Dekernion and Danny McBride.

I'm just excited Sunny will be back!

GAME OF THRONES' Daenerys Targaryen Disney Style

There's no way that Disney would ever touch anything as awesomely hardcore as Game of Thrones, but if they did, I imagine the character Daenerys Tarfaryen would look something like this. Hugh Jackman Discusses THE WOLVERINE Trailer

Yesterday FOX unleashed an awesome trailer for James Mangold's The Wolverine, and it made me and a lot of other fanboys and fangirls believe that this movie is going to kick some major ass! Hugh Jackman recently sat down with MTV to talk about a few aspects of the trailer, and characters in the film like Viper and Jean Grey. Here's some of the things he had to say...

On the mysterious man who offers Logan mortality:

Wolverine has known this man for sixty years, so he was involved with him, you see that in the trailer, in World War 2 and he saved his [life] there. Now, he is in a way the King of Japan in a business sense. He's not well at the beginning of the movie. So he wants to make good on the past and reconnect with the man that saved his life.

On Viper, played by Svetlana Khodchenkova:

Viper is, for someone who plays Wolverine, who is pretty badass. She's not your girl next door. You're going to end up kind of loving every minute she has on screen. She's terrific.

On the bullet train sequence:

It is insane. It was insane to shoot it. It was, again, one of those brilliant ideas. One of the most emblematic things about Japan is the bullet train. Since the '70s this train was built that goes 250 mph or something. We're traveling through the movie through Japan, it's not just in Tokyo, we go to the country of Japan. And how do you get there? By bullet train, can't go on the bullet train without any incident. It was hairy, shooting that stuff. To re-create what that is like, the kind of winds at 300 miles per hour, let me just say, looking back at some of the footage, I thought, 'It's time for a facelift.'

On Jean Grey:

There's no doubt that the most important relationship in his life is — we've seen through the movies — is his relationship with Jean Grey. Yes, we saw her die at the end of 'X-Men: The Last Stand,' but in this movie, she has a presence, which I think is vital to the movie, particularly for him confronting the most difficult thing within himself.

Watch the video interview below!

The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26th, and I can't wait!

Nolan Wants McConaughey for INTERSTELLAR

Christopher Nolan is looking to cast Matthew McConaughey in his next big sci-fi film Interstellar. According to Deadline Nolan has offered him the part, so at this point we're just waiting to see if the actor accepts it or not.

I seriously doubt that McConaughy will say no to Nolan, so I think it's safe to say we'll be seeing these two talents working together in the near future. This would be a huge film for the actor, who will be playing a character named Cooper.

As of right now all that we know about the story is that it's based on scientific theories developed by Cal Tech physicist, Kip Thorne, and follows a group of explorers who travel through a wormhole. It's also being described as "a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding." I'm sure it will blow our minds.

McConaughy is a solid actor. Some movies he makes I like, others I don't, but this would be an incredibly refreshing project for him. I hope everything works out, and he takes the part.

B.J. Novak Cast in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

It looks like The Office's B.J. Novak has joined the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2! Director Marc Webb sent out the above photo of Novak via Twitter recently, and it came with the following caption:

Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp?

Webb doesn't say who Novak will be playing in the film, but I imagine the character works for Norman Osborn. Any other theories on who Novak will play in the movie?

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and Chris Cooper, and it hits theaters on May 2nd, 2014!

New KICK-ASS 2 Character Poster Features The Mother F%&*^r

Universal Pictures has released another Kick-Ass 2 character poster featuring the story's deranged villain known as The Motherfucker played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse. I recently saw the trailer for this on the big screen and out of all of the characters that were shown in it, this villain got the best, most surprised response from the audience, which I thought was interesting. It's bee fun to watch him get his ass kicked.

The Jeff Wadlow-directed film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Morris Chestnut, John LeguizamoOlga Kurkulina, Clark Duke, and Donald Faison

Kick-Ass 2 hits theaters on August 16th, 2013, and here's the synopsis...

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

Artist James Hance has created another delightful Star Wars and UP mashup. This one features Russell as Luke Skywalker and Carl as Han Solo. The illustration is called 'A Tatooine Explorer Is A Friend To All!'

Hance is the same artist who brought us Little RebelsWookie The Chew, and Carl and Ellie as Han Solo and Princess Leia. He has such a great style. His art just makes me happy.
