Taylor Kitsch to Join Horror Thriller EXIT 147

0
0

Taylor Kitsch had a really bad year, with films like John Carter, Battleship and Savages, all of which bombed at the box office. There was enough negativity surrounding the actor to kill a career. I think he's a solid actor, and I also thing he's a good leading man. He just got involved with the wrong projects.

Bloody-Disgusting has learned that Kitsch is attached to star in a new horror thriller called Exit 147, which is being directed by Julian Jarrold, from a screenplay by Travis Milloy (Pandorum). The story is about "a man driving across the desert at night who is arrested by a small town sheriff (Kitsch) and held captive as part of his own sadistic game."

It sounds like it could be an interesting film, but I don't think it's a movie that will help Kitsch's acting career. After his bad year of movies, it might be the best thing he can get right now though. Do you think he can make a comeback?

Awesomely Fun R/C Race Car Short

Here's a great new R/C race car chase sequence that was created by Youtuber FinalCutKing, and inspired by Freddie Wong's R/C car action short. The chase sequence was made "entirely out of cardboard, hot glue, and spray paint." I used to play with R/C cars when I was a kid, but watching this video makes me want to go out and buy a couple cars to play around with. I've got a couple of kids, so I can easily justify it. Enjoy the video!

OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Clip - He Is the Wizard

Disney has released another clip from Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful featuring Rachel Weiz's Evanora debating with Mila Kunis' Theordora on whether James Franco's Oscar Diggs is actually the wizard or not. The hits theaters on March 8th, 2013, and I suggest that you check it out! I think you're going to enjoy it.

Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.

Brad Bird Explains the Awesomeness of DIE HARD

I'm a huge fan of the original Die Hard movie. It's definitely the best one in the franchise. Hell, it's one of the best action films ever made! Director Brad Bird (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Iron Giant, The Incredibles) recently talked to Rolling Stone, and discussed the brilliance of director John McTiernan's Die Hard.

Bruce Willis' John McClane is in the tradition of Sean Connery as James Bond and Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones – a hero who shows fear. He's a guy who is continually petrified by what's happening to him, but that doesn't keep him from pushing through it. And instead of making the hero smaller for the audience, it makes him larger – because we recognize the fear. Alan Rickman was a fantastic villain, too.

John McTiernan's direction is an amazing piece of intricate craftsmanship. What a lot of filmmakers have trouble communicating is a sense of geography. For instance, one floor of a building under construction looks a lot like any other floor. But McTiernan put in little things, like a Playboy centerfold hung up by a construction worker. At first it seems like a visual joke, but it's really there to identify that floor, so when Willis encounters it again, the audience knows exactly where he is. Many directors also shoot action very sloppily – they shoot up close and cut around a lot and put in all these big noises to distract you. But in Die Hard, you know where every character is every second of the movie. Things are going by at a fast clip, but you're never lost.

Most action movies have great sequences, but they aren't great movies. Die Hard starts great and just stays at that level from beginning to end.

He really makes some great points here. If you think about it, Die Hard is really just one long action sequence that never really lets up on the suspense. I guess it's time for me to watch it again.

Leonardo DiCaprio To Develop THE ROAD HOME

Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Michael Armour's upcoming novel The Road Home. Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper has signed on to write, produce, and direct the film. As of right now Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce it and potentially star in it.

According to Deadline, the film will be "a Depression-era drama that focuses on Creek, a war-scarred rancher on the Central California coast who finds himself entangled in scandal when he is asked to investigate the brutal murder of a local man, a case that local police have swept under the rug."

DiCaprio just got finished shooting the Martin Scorsese-directed film The Wolf Of Wall Street. This sounds like it could be a good story. We'll find out more when the book is released.

James Marsden Joins ANCHORMAN 2

James Marsden is the latest edition to the cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues. According to Deadline he'll play a rival anchor and nemesis to Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy in the sequel. Marsden is a freakin' awesome actor that can be pretty damn funny. He's going to be an amazing addition to the cast.

All we know about the story so far is that it follows the on-set adventures of San Diego’s top newsman, and it was previously revealed that it will partly be a musical, which gives us something fun to look forward to.

Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate are all set to reprise their roles in the sequel. Kristen Wiig is also a new addition to the cast.

Marsden will next appear in Universal’s crime drama 2 Guns with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. After that you will see him play JFK in Lee Daniels’ The Butler. He just finished shooting Walk Of Shame with Elizabeth Banks

Henry Cavill Says MAN OF STEEL Is a Selfless Movie

As we excitedly wait to see more cool stuff from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, the film's star, Henry Cavill, briefly talked to Total Film about the movie and how Superman will be relatable to fans and moviegoers.

This is not a movie about Zack Snyder directing something, or Henry Cavill playing a character… it’s a selfless movie about a character who is going through what he is going through. He wants to do the right thing, but he’s fallible, like the rest of us. He messes up, and that makes us love him more.

He goes on to talk about his excitement of playing the character saying,

I loved wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you’re wearing a Superman suit, for goodness sake!

Warner Bros. executives recently saw a screening of the film, and word is they loved it! I can't wait to see it for myself. I've been waiting for a badass Superman film for years, and it sounds like this could be it!

The story follows a young boy who "learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind."

Man of Steel hits theaters in 3-D June 14th, 2013, and it also stars, Kevin Costner as Pa Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennixas as General Swanwick, Antje Traue as Faora, and Aylet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van.

Watch Everything Wrong with INCEPTION

The nitpicky team over at CinemaSins has made another of their Everything Wrong videos that tears apart Christopher Nolan's Inception for 4 minutes. They do make some good points, but while for the most part I like all of their videos this one really crosses the line of nitpickyness.

Differences Between Mike, Sully, And Randall From MONSTERS INC To MONSTERS U

I don't know about you, but personally, I'm psyched about Monsters University. By psyched I mean the I'm a full-grown male, I don't have children, and I'm going to see this movie kind of psyched. Anyway, Reddit threw up this comparison on Imgur showing a side-by-side comparison of the key characters in the film. I think Mike got the biggest face lift out of all the characters by far, looking a little more rounded out and more proportional.

Megan Fox to Star in TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Reboot

Regardless of Megan Fox and Michael Bay's differences they are teaming back up for the Jonathan Liebesman directed reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She will be taking on the lead role of April O’Neil, who ends up becoming friends with the Ninja Turtles. The news comes from Bay himself who simply wrote on his blog, "TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!"

I'm not the biggest fan of Fox, but I don't think she'll be the downfall of the movie. According to insiders "Fox and Bay reconciled over a series of recent meetings and that one tete-a-tete that won her over was with director Jonathan Liebesman, who wowed her [with] the storyboards." I guess if she doesn't have to really work under Bay's direction she's ok with it.

The film was in pre-production last June, but was put on hold reportedly because of a terrible script, and the director wanted more time to make sure that the visual effects he wanted for the movie would be at the level of greatness that he was looking for. The Ninja Turtles are expected to be motion capture CGI creations.

It's also been previously revealed that they want to use the same martial arts fighting style that we saw in The Raid. Hopefully with the rewrites they've been able to improve the story. The fact that casting is underway tells us that they are happy with the story they now have. I really hope they end up giving the fans something incredibly badass!

Stan Lee's ANNIHILATOR Movie Is Moving Forward

Back in the day Stan Lee created some of the greatest comic book superheroes of all time. Lately though the characters he's come up with have been pretty forgettable. But one of his latest characters he's created is Annihilator, and he's on his way to the big screen.

Annihilator is a Chinese prisoner who goes through a crazy scientific procedure in which he's infused with the powers of several different animals. Producer Barry Josephson (Enchanted, Bones, Wild Wild West) has signed on to help develop the film with Magic Storm Entertainment. The script was written by Dan Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy, Real Steel).

As much as I've enjoyed what Lee has created in his career this is one of those things that seems like it's going to be a hard sell. But, it looks like this is going to happen, and I hope it ends up exceeding my expectations. It's just hard not to think that it's going to be a dud. Josephson had this to say in a statement,

One of my dreams when I became a producer was to work with Stan Lee. Now with Dan Gilroy’s magnificent script, that dream will become a reality.

We also have a story synopsis from the press release. Read through it and let us know if you think it will make for a good movie.

ANNIHILATOR tells the story of a young Chinese expatriate, Ming, who must choose between remaining in prison or enlist in a secret US super soldier program.  The program uses targeted genetic enhancements from various animal species.  Ming chooses to undergo this nearly fatal procedure and through his extreme resolve, gained as a result of his family’s tradition of practicing Qijong and martial arts, he survives. Now, armed with remarkable abilities, he must confront a former rival with his own set of enhanced faculties. Our reluctant hero is forced not only to face his personal demons, but also to defeat the villain who will destroy everything that he knows and loves.

So do you think Stan Lee's still got it?

With the 85th Academy Awards coming up this weekend, I thought it would be a good time to post this fun video featuring kids reenacting this year's Best Picture nominees including Argo, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, Django Unchained, and Beasts of the Southern Wild. The video segments were brought to us by Kids Reenact creator Jared Neumark and Official Comedy. It turned out to be pretty adorable and entertaining, I hope you enjoy it!

EVIL DEAD Lincoln Logs Play Set!

This is photoshopped, but it doesn't make it any less awesome! The image basically shows us what a vintage 1980's Evil Dead-inspired Lincoln Logs play set would like like. I really wish this would have existed! The image was created by Hartter Art.

IRON MAN 3 - Mandarin Character Poster

Marvel has released another character poster for Shane Black's Iron Man 3 featuring Sir Ben Kingsley as the big villain of the franchise, The Mandarin. Kingsley is such a great actor, and he looks like a badass as this character! He was definitely an inspired choice. Now is that Captain America's helmet next to him? Who else would have a blue helmet like that? See the full image below...

To see the Iron Patriot poster click here, and to see the Aldrich Killian poster click here.

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

The movie also stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Guy Pearce. It's set to open in 3D and 2D theaters on May 3rd, 2013.

Amazing Trailer for Wesley Snipes' Zombie Western GALLOWWALKERS

0
0

Back in 2006 Wesley Snipes made a zombie western called Gallowwalkers. A new trailer has finally been released for it, and it looks so amazingly ridiculous that I have to watch it!

When a nun broke her covenant with God to save the life of Aman, her unborn son, he was cursed for life. As an adult, Aman (Snipes) has killed those who have crossed him. But his curse brings his victims back to life, and as the undead, they pursue him endlessly for revenge. Forever suffering this curse, Aman enlists Fabulos (Riley Smith), a young gunman, to fight by his side against his undead victims.

So everyone that Snipes kills comes back to life. I guess if he wants to stop the zombie apocalypse from happening he should stop killing people. Gallowwalkers is set to be released later this year, along with the film's star.

Adam Sandler Joins Untitled Romantic Comedy

Adam Sandler has joined a new untitled romantic comedy at Warner Bros. that will end up being his next film. The story is "set in the growing phenomenon of blended families," and there's a possibility that his Wedding Singer and 50 First Date co-star Drew Barrymore could end up starring alongside with him.

After a disastrous blind date, Jim and Lauren find themselves, each with their kids from a previous marriage, stuck together in a resort for families. Despite everything they can do to resist, the attraction grows between the two, and their kids benefit from the growing relationship.

It definitely sounds like the kind of movie Sandler would do. He was set to do a western comedy called Ridiculous 6 next, but that's been pushed back until next year. I used to be a huge fan of Sandler, but the films he's been making recently have been disappointing. The best movie he's made recently was Hotel Transylvania, and the next movie you'll see him in will be Grown Ups 2, which comes out this summer.

I hope Sandler eventually starts making really good movies again. Do you think that will ever happen?

Jimmy Fallon Demos the PlayStation 4 and Killzone: Shadow Fall

One of the major highlights from the PlayStation 4 event held earlier this week was the first glimpse at Killzone: Shadow Fall. So it should come as no surprise that the company decided to premiere it to the world on national TV on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. I mean, they were already in NYC, why not show it off some more.

Joined on stage by Guerrilla Games Managing Director, Hermen Hulst, along with Guys With Kids (a show Fallon produces) actor, Anthony Anderson, they all try their hand at this very beautiful next gen game. Then throw in the fact that Fallon is a big time gamer (which is not exactly shown during his gameplay of this video) and that he is loved by gaming’s young demographic, this was the perfect opportunity to get some more press.

So what do you think of Killzone: Shadow Fall so far? Is it a must buy?

9 Movie Posters Featuring Actors that Almost Starred in the Films

A lot of movies go through several different casting changes before the film actually goes into production. Once the movie is made it's hard to see anyone else in the roles for those films. These nine posters created by Kristy Puchko at The FW, show us what the movie posters may have looked like if the original actor cast in the film ended up doing it. We've got Will Smith in Django Unchained, Mark Wahlberg in Brokeback Mountain, Dustin Hoffman in Blade Runner, Vince Vaughn in Silver Linings Playbook, Liam Neeson in Lincoln, Sean Connery in The Lord of the Rings, Nicolas Cage in The Matrix, Robin Williams in Batman Forever, and Tom Selick in Indiana Jones.

Look over the posters and let us know if you would have liked to see any of these alternative casting choices become a reality.

Artist Matt Wiley, the same guy who created those awesome vintage Star Trek ads we posted a while back, returns with this awesome mashup art. Charlie Brown as Captain America? What could be more patriotic than that? Great job Matt, keep up the good work!

Microsoft Gears Up for Their Own Next-Gen Event by Registering Domain

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I was kind of wishing that Microsoft would pull off some publicity stunt outside of the theater where the PlayStation 4 event was held earlier this week. Either that or conveniently cut the power off to the building. No, I am not an Xbox fanboy. I actually like both of the systems a great deal, and will probably buy them both come this holiday season. I just like to see them battle it out against each other for publicity.

Regardless of my wishes, it seems Microsoft is already getting ready for their big event. No real surprise here, right? Yesterday, the company Eventcore (who has worked with MS on previous events, formerly known as US Techs) registered the domain XboxEvent.com. If you try to visit the page right now, you will only get a parked page with no content on it at all (the content on it is coming from the domain/hosting company currently).

It was already rumored that MS would hold their event closer to the Game Developers Conference, which starts on March 25th. That’s just about a month away. Let’s all be honest, they will definitely not wait until E3 to premiere things and let Sony get all of this shine until then. So what are you’re hoping Microsoft includes in the next console?
