First Clip for OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

Oz: The Great And Powerful star Rachel Weisz showed up on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to talk about the film and showed off one of the first clips. The clip features an intense moment between her character Evanora and Mila Kunis' Theodora. I actually had a chance to see the movie recently, and I absolutely loved it! You've got to see it. You'll definitely want to watch it in 3D. The movie will be released on March 8th, 2013. Check out the clip!

Disney's fantastical adventure Oz: The Great And Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

When small-time magician Oscar Diggs pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK - 30 Minute Extended Featurette

David O Russell's Silver Linings Playbook was one of my favorite movies of last year. If you haven't seen it you should definitely check it out! You won't be sorry. It's got a great story, a solid script, and fantastic acting from Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robot DeNiro, and Chris Tucker. The movie is nominated for 8 Oscars including Best Picture. A new must watch, touching, 30-minute behind the scenes featurette has been released for the film that you can watch below.

Pat Solatano (Cooper) has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother and father after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet - and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

Check out these Great Dieselpunk Concept Designs

Here's a really cool series of Dieselpunk concept art created by CGHUB artsit BjornHurri. These feature some great character and vehicle designs. For those of you not familiar with dieselpunk, it's based on the "aesthetics of the interwar period between the end of the World War I and the beginning of World War II. The genre combines the artistic and genre influences of the period (including pulp magazines, serial films, film noir, art deco, and wartime pin-ups) with postmodern technology and sensibilities." What do you think of the designs?

Todd McFarlane is Still Talking About That SPAWN Movie

0
0

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has been talking about making another Spawn movie for years, and at this point I seriously doubt it's going to happen. Back in 2011 he said he was working on a script for the film, and that an Academy Award winning actor was interested in making the film with him. The thing is McFarlane seems to have made no movement on the script at all. In a recent interview with MTV the comic artist basically gave the same answer about the movie that he's been giving for years...

I continue to write a page here and there. As I’ve said before, I’ve got a guy waiting on the sidelines who’s an Academy Award-winning actor who phones every three weeks going ‘Todd, where’s the script? Where’s the script?’… He came out to the office, he gave me his pitch, I gave him my pitch, and he’s like ‘Fine, let’s do your gig.’ The pitch I gave him was that we could then do, like, ten of these for the next ten years, and he wouldn’t have to be 22 for the rest of his life.

The plan would be to do the movie, bring the movie out and then go back on TV with the animation like we did the first time. But the cool thing with the animation is we’ve got 90 minutes all set, ready to go, other than just sending it to an animation house. We’ve done all the voice recordings, we’ve done all the backgrounds and everything. So the technology is way better than it was a decade ago. and there’s some spectacular stuff that we can now do when we bring it back that we were never able to do on HBO.

Well then do it already!!! All we've heard is talk, lets see some action! I want to see another Spawn movie, something better, and I'd love to see another animated series, so just do it. The only thing stopping these productions from happening is McFarlane.

As for the actor interested in the role, if I had to make an educated guess, I'd say it's Jamie Foxx that wants to get in on the action. For those of you who want to know what his new movie approach for the character is, here's some details he gave in a previous interview. I actually think it could be pretty amazing. Too bad it's never going to happen.

I’ve always seen Spawn as being cut from a different cloth. It’s more of an urban, psychological story that’s being told. The answer I’ve given the last few years is that Spawn should be a small-budget movie in which the only thing that’s out of the ordinary is this thing that intellectually we know as Spawn and there would only be a handful of people that see it. I call it “it” because it never talks, it’s just a force of nature. Really, the story revolves around the people who are trying to decide: “Is the ghost alive? Is the shadow actually moving?” When I give that pitch, some of the executives scratch their heads. To a lot of people, a movie where the [title] character doesn’t talk doesn’t make any sense. There have been a few movies like that. Alien, you know, that guy didn’t say much. Or Jaws, the shark didn’t have too many speaking lines. Jaws is the closest example, the movie wasn’t about the shark, it’s about the people chasing the shark.

The idea I pitch is that the movie shouldn’t be about superheroes and laser beams — it’s about the id of people and the group of people caught up in the story and seeing things out of the corner of their eye. And when I give the pitch, I also say that I will write and direct it. There’s the nonnegotiable pieces of it. Then I have four suitors who say, “Yeah, cool, when do we start?” It means we’re not looking for a $20-million actor and we’re not looking for a big-budget extravaganza with lots of special effects.

The story that I pitch is very tight, very contained, but done right. I want a movie that gets people’s hearts racing. I want to scare them. Spawn, done right, is a creepy character. Instead of a superhero who just stands there. That’s why Batman was always the coolest of all the good guys. I never had one moment of affinity for [Superman]. He was a Boy Scout right from the moment he hit the ground. He was always polite and said the right thing. I never felt like he was in danger because he could spin planets on his finger. Batman is a guy who could die if you threw him out of a window. More than that, even though he had women throwing themselves at him and millions of dollars, all he wanted to do was to wait until 3 a.m. and the pitch of black and say, “time to put the costume on and scare the bad guys.” I relate way more to that guy. Spawn is Batman untethered, without the corporation behind it. Batman without limits, Batman who kills the Joker.

Spawn is a spectre, a sentinel, he’s that thing that nobody can get their hands on. As a kid growing up, the movies I was enamored with were the creepy movies where there’s only one creepy thing. Going back to the black-and-white films, way back, “Dracula” and “Frankenstein,” there was only one fantastical element. The title character. Dr. Frankenstein and Igor were just a madman and simpleton. They were still humans. When you start adding others to it, it loses me. The son of the Wolf Man or the bride of Frankenstein, even, it loses it. I likeThe Exorcist. I like Rosemary’s Baby. A little bit of the fantastic and then everything else was real. You went for the ride and felt like, “If there was a ghost in the house, this is what it would be like.”

ENDER'S GAME - Official Battle School Army Logos!

0
0

We haven't really seen a lot from Gavin Hood's big screen adaptation Ender's Game, but today we bring you the official logos that will be used for the Battle School Army including Salamander Army, Dragon Army, Rat Army, and ASP Army.

The logos come from the following four Ender's Game fan sites... Ender WigginEnder NewsEnder's Ansible, and Ender's Game Fansite. I can't wait to see how this movie turns out! I'm a big fan of the books, and I hope to hell they get it right for the movie.

The movie comes out on November 1st, 2013, and here's the synopsis:

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

I've also included a detailed break down of the characters in the story....

Asa Butterfield, the star of director Martin Scorsese's widely praised 3D film Hugo will be playing the lead role of Ender Wiggin. Harrison Ford (Cowboys & Aliens) will be Colonel Hyrum Graff, the adult lead in the film and commander of training for the International Fleet military academy in located in space. Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) will play Petra Arkanian, one of Ender's Battle School trainers and eventual confidant. Sir Ben Kingsley, who recently starred with Butterfield in Hugo will play a character who is crucial to Ender's battle training, former Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham. Canadian actor Brendan Meyer will play one of Ender's early antagonists Stilson who he encounters before being shipped off to Battle School. Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin will play Valentine Wiggin, sister to Butterfield's Ender. Aramis Knight (Rendition) will play Ender's youngest recruit Bean, Moises Arias will play Salamander Army Commander Bonzo Madrid, Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak (Let Me In) will be Peter Wiggin, Suraj Parthasarathy will be Alai, Conor Carroll will be Ender's first Battle School nemesis Bernard, Khylin Rhambo will play Dink Meeker. Viola Davis (the Help) will play a yet to be named military psychologist who oversees the emotional welfare of young trainees. Nonso Anozie (The Grey) will play Sergeant Dap, Stevie Ray Dallimore (Joyful Noise) has been cast as Ender’s father John and Andrea Powell (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) will play Ender’s mother Theresa.

Great Full Trailer For A&E's BATES MOTEL Series

A&E has released a full trailer for their upcoming psychological thriller series Bates Motel, which was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's PsychoFreddie Highmore plays Norman Bates in the series, and he's going to be awesome! The show itself looks like it's going to be an incredible series. In Bates Motel, following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn't quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. GEARS OF WAR: JUDGEMENT - Frosted Tips & Co. Get Gutsy in Newest Multiplayer Trailer

0
0

Yeah, about that headline; let me explain. When playing Gears with friends (which I have been known to do a lot), my character of choice is always the smartest guy in the room who excels at reminding everyone of said fact, Baird. As time went on my group came up with a number of nicknames for each other, but none stuck more than the ever so lovely Frosted Tips (in honor of Baird's N'Sync-ish hairstyle). Ever since, it's been a thing. Okay, sidebar over. Now let's get to the trailer.

Here are the top 4 things that make me giddy for Judgement's refined (and enhanced) multiplayer.

Beacon Grenades

I love the idea of these, as when used correctly they can add a nice bit of strategy to the organized chaos of Gears multiplayer. Knowing is half the battle, especially for rooting out those pesky snipers, which ironically I tend to be one of. Hmmm, maybe I don't like these after all.

No Warm Up

I know some people have reacted badly to what they see as dumbing down mechanics for more casual players (peep the youtube comments), but for me this isn't the case at all. I got to test out this feature when I played the multiplayer last year, and while it took some getting used to it definitely helped out in the long run. Sometimes you just don't have time to sit and wind up to take advantage of a situation, and having this option allows you to capitalize in an instant. All you have to do is tap the bumper and let if fly.

Armor Skins

One of the most entertaining features of Gears 3 was the numerous weapon skins you could unlock or buy (I'm still rocking my candy cane shotgun), and I'm so happy to see the customization continue with armor skins. As long as there are numerous options to choose from, I couldn't be happier.

And yes, the guy in the Green Lantern style green and black armor? All me son.

Verticality

You don't know what you're missing until you get it and then question how you lived without it, and that's how I feel about the new vertical layouts in Judgement's maps. I love how if you see someone running underneath, you can literally pounce and hit them up close with a shotgun, instead of just relying on range or grenades. Again, it's about options, and I think the changes that People Can Fly are making will go a long way to keeping the replayability at a high level once everyone learns the maps in about a month or two. I really like what I see so far, but I guess we can all find out if it's just hype or reality in a few weeks.

BTW, totally wasn't kidding about the GL armor thing.

New Film Clip and Poster for JACK THE GIANT SLAYER

0

Jack the Giant Slayer isn't really on my list of movies I have to see this year. I was really hoping it would be better than it looks. Bryan Singer has just failed to impress me with his fantasy adventure film. My kids are excited to see it, so I'm sure I'll end up seeing it. Who knows... my expectations are so low that maybe it will be better than what I think it will be. Anyway, we've got a new clip and poster for the film for you to check out.

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend--and gets the chance to become a legend himself. Also starring Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, and Ewan McGregor.

The movie arrives in theaters on March 1st, 2013 Check out the trailer here, and the new clip below.

Trailer for Julianne Moore's Horror Thriller 6 SOULS

0
0

After years of just sitting around collecting dust Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers' horror thriller 6 Souls just got new trailer, and it's going to get released. The movie first premiered in 2009, not sure why it sat around for so long. My first reaction was that the movie must have sucked, but I actually liked what I saw in the trailer. We all know trailers can be deceiving though. Here's what the movie is about...

After the death of her husband, Dr. Cara Harding’s (Moore) faith in God has been shaken, but not her belief in science. In an attempt to open her up to accepting unexplainable psychiatric theories, her father introduces her to Adam, a patient with multiple personalities who takes on some of the physical characteristics of his other personalities. But, Cara quickly discovers that Adam’s other personalities are murder victims and the more she finds out about him and his past, the closer she and her loved ones are to becoming murder victims themselves.

The movie will be released on VOD March 1st and it will get a limited theatrical on April 5th. Do you think this looks like a bad movie?

Jennifer Lawrence Joins David O. Russell's THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence will be reteaming with director David O. Russell for a new film project called The Ends of the EarthTHR describes the movie as "a fact-based love story about a powerful oil tycoon who has everything stripped from him after he is caught in an affair."

This is a different project than the other one Russell is working on previously titled American Bullshit, which stars Bradley CooperChristian Bale, Amy Adams, as well as Lawrence who also recently joined that film. Russell will most likely start work on The Ends of the Earth when he's finished with that one. Russell loved working with Lawrence on Silver Linings, and here's what he had to say about her in a statement,

Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease. She is that kind of person. She is the most dedicated person I know.  She is devoted to her family and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless and she always makes it look easy.

She is a terrific actress, and I'm sure she'll be great in this movie. Here's video cool tribute for Lawrence that was made for the Santa Barbara Film Festival, thanks to Hollywood Elsewhere.

The Original BACK TO THE FUTURE DeLorean Has Been Restored

After over a year of restoration work the original DeLorean from the classic Back to the Future film has been restored to all its awesome glory! The car is now currently on display at Universal Studios Hollywood.

This car is actually one of three models used during filming. It was called "Hero A" and was used predominantly for shots with the actors themselves. The other two cars were used for stunts and close interior shots. The restored car's front flux bands have been replaced, but they were able to use mostly original materials.

Project leader Joe Walser had this to say in an interview with BTTF.com,

When you're building a replica, you can decide how forgiving you want to be, but to do it right, to truly nail it... to hold every piece to the highest level of accuracy achievable — well, that's the real trick, and it took the best team in the world an incredible amount of time and effort to pull it off. It simply had to be what it was — a labor of love.

Ever since I saw Back to the Future this has been my dream car. I know I'll never own it, but it's cool to see this one get the awesome restoration that it got.

Glass Prisons Can't Hold Homicidal Maniacs in Movies

For some reason people in the movies think it's a good idea to put villains in glass prisons, like it will keep them from escaping, but they always seem to get out, don't they! Here's a funny Meme that was pointed out to me that I had to share. There's obviously a better way to incarcerate a homicidal maniac, anyone have any good ideas?

New Photo from ENDER'S GAME Featuring Battle School Mess Hall

Just yesterday we brought you the four Battle School army logos for Ender's Game including Salamander Army, Dragon Army, Rat Army, and ASP Army. Today we bring you the second official photo from the highly anticipated movie featuring Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin, your first look at Hailee Steinfeld as Petra Arkanian (left), Khylin Rhambo as Dink Meeker (right, next to Ender), and Moises Arias as Bonzo Madrid (end of the table on the left) eating in the Battle School mess hall. These characters are all part of Salamander Army. Thanks to EnderWiggin.net!

It's still a little hard to tell what this movie is actually going to be like from the very little we've seen of it. I'm looking forward to seeing more, especially some of the action sequences. I really hope the first trailer that's released blows us away! The movie comes out on November 1st, 2013, and here's the synopsis:

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Season 4 - Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen Guest Star

0
0

Looks like the fourth season of Arrested Development is going to bring some fun notable guest stars! US reports that Seth Rogen and Kristen Wiig will be in the series, which is pretty awesome! They didn't provide any information on who they will be playing, but Vulture found some information on who Wiig will be playing, and if you don't want to know then stop reading now because you'll be entering spoiler territory...

Here it is...

Wiig will be playing a young Lucille Bluth! Now Jessica Walter is returning to reprise her role along with the entire original cast, so I imagine we'll be seeing a few flashback scenes in the series, or maybe some old home movies? Either way, it's exciting news for Arrested Development fans! The more I hear about the series the more excited I actually get!

I'm sure well see more big guest stars in the series as well. This is such a popular show, I'm sure a lot of people would have jumped at the chance to be a part of it.
