Could Tron Be Cast In WRECK-IT RALPH 2?

With all the video game characters Disney licensed for Wreck-It Ralph, it seems crazy obvious that they should have brought in Tron, a movie character they turned into a game.

Director Rich Moore shares with ComingSoon.net:

I can't specifically remember why that didn't happen, ...Of course, with a sequel, I'm hoping that we can find a way to see Tron himself in that movie.

Perhaps Disney didn't want to blend brands, thinking that it would be confusing to audiences. Having Tron make a quick cameo would still be fun, though. Let's make it happen, programs.

It's no secret now that Movie 43 was a ridiculous flop and an incredibly poor excuse for a film. The film was so bad in fact that only one of its stars showed up at its premiere. Seann William Scott gives perhaps the best reaction possible to a potential nightmare for any other actor. Watch below courtesy of Screen Slam.

THE AVENGERS Meets THE BREAKFAST CLUB in This Video Mashup

Here's a fun trailer mash-up that takes the The Avengers and combines it with John Hughes' classic coming of age film, The Breakfast Club

The trailer was created by Don Draper Says What, and it tells the story of five superheroes, all different stereotypes, a Brain (Tony Stark), a Beauty (Black Widow), a Rebel (Loki), a Jock (Captain America) and a Recluse (Bruce Banner), trapped under the rule of a principal (Nick Fury). They band together and pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought.

Enjoy the mashup trailer!

Paul Walker to Star In HITMAN Reboot AGENT 47

Paul Walker (Fast and Furious) has been tapped by Fox International Productions for the lead role in their Hitman reboot. Deadline reports that Walker will play Agent 47 in the live-action adaptation of the hit video game property from Square Enix. Skip Woods and Michael Finch (A Good Day to Die Hard scribes) wrote the script for the film, which is set to be directed by Aleksander Bach

The story follows Agent 47, a genetically engineered elite assassin with the barcode tattooed on the back of his head. Filming is slated to begin in Berlin, once Walker has finished doing press for Fast And Furious 6. So get ready to see a bald Paul Walker. Perhaps he will get some grooming tips from Vin Diesel and/or Dwayne Johnson.

Timothy Olyphant starred in the lackluster 2007 film (also penned by Woods), which failed to ignite a feature franchise. I am interested in seeing how this new project develops for the primary reason that I like the idea of a movie about a badass assassin. Walker has the action chops to handle a role like this, which will not likely be too heavy of a gig on the acting side. What do you think about Walker starring in this new Hitman film?

Columbia Pictures has released the official synopsis for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is set to be released on May 2nd, 2014! The movie is currently shooting, and the whole film will be shot in New York City, and New York State.

The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field, and here's the official synopsis...

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The movie was written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing.

I really enjoyed the first Spider-Man reboot, and I'm looking forward to the sequel. They got a hell of a great cast, and some fun villains.

Who wouldn't want to be married to a Sith Lord? Everyone, you say? Clearly Darth Maul and his wife have some issues they need to work out.

I think the conversation earlier that day might have been along the lines of, "Gungans for dinner again?!" or, "Are you still wearing that hood? It smells like bantha poodoo." The folks at DefconUnlimitedStunt look like they had a bunch of fun making the video. The makeup and set location are very well done. (Thanks: Geeks Are Sexy)

Mark Millar Explains Why a JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie Won't Work

$

Warner Bros. has been desperately trying to get their DC comic properties going over the years, and they are hoping that Man of Steel will pave the way for a Justice League movie that they can be proud of. The Justice League team is a hard group of superheroes to tackle, and I hope they can pull something amazing off.

Comic writer and Marvel consultant Mark Millar doesn't think it will work, and in a recent interview with SciFi Now he explains why,

I actually think the big problem for them is the characters are just too out of date. The characters were created 75 years ago, even the newest major character was created 68 years ago, so they’re in a really weird time.

He goes on to break it down singling out certain characters like Green Lantern, Flash, and Auquaman,

Now the stuff I grew up with… I adored the DC stuff growing up but really, how do you do a movie about Green Lantern. His power is that he manifests green plasma from his imagination and uses them as weapons against someone? Even that in itself if you just imagine then watching a fight scene with a guy who’s like a hundred feet away making plasma manifestations fight someone – it’s not exactly raucous, getting up close and personal.

The Flash has door handles on the side of his mask and if he doesn’t wear that mask, I’ll be pissed off, you know what I mean? They’re in a weird, weird situation – if you’ve got a guy who moves at the speed of light up against the Weather Wizard and Captain Cold or whatever, then your movie’s over in two seconds.

You can get away with stuff in comics that in live action’s just a bit sucky – the best one is definitely Aquaman. Aquaman can’t even talk under water. If you think about it in comics it’s fine, you just have a speech balloon, but how do you have Atlantis and people talking under water? Are they gonna talking telepathically? Is it going to be body forms? The actual logistics of each member of the Justice League is disastrous, and you put them all together and I think you get an excellent way of losing $200 million.

Do you agree with Millar's assessment? I think he makes some good points, but I also think it's still possible to make an awesome and successful Justice League movie.

Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen looking to Join GODZILLA

Legendary Pictures and director Gareth Edwards are currently in the process of prepping the new Godzilla film for production. Frank Darabont is polishing up the script, and they are looking to cast some of the main characters. Variety reports that the studio has just entered talks with Brayn Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House) to co-star in the film. It was previously reported that Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson was in talks to play the main character in the movie. Apparently no official deal will be made until the script is completed.

So far, all we know about the film's plot is that it will include more than one giant monster and the story would revolve around a soldier.

The movie is set to be released on May 16th, 2014, and production is expected to start next month, so I imagine we'll be seeing some actors being locked down in the near future. All the actors that are in talks with right now are great, and I hope they all end up being cast in this monstrously epic film.

Bruce Willis Says There Will Be a DIE HARD 6

Now I'm a big fan of the the first three Die Hard movies, but I didn't care for Live Free or Die Hard, and the next film, A Good Day to Die Hard looks ridiculously over the top. I'm hoping it will be entertaining, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I guess everyone plans on the movie doing well at the box office because Bruce Willis has confirmed that there will be a sixth Die Hard film! He made the announcement during an appearance on BBC’s One Show. When asked if we would see Die Hard 6, Willis smiled, and simply said...

Yes.

So there you have it! Die Hard 6 is on it's way! John McClane is seriously the unluckiness man in the world. I can only imagine that they will finally take the franchise into space. It will be like Armageddon... Die Hard style! They might as well. Where would you like to see the adventures of John McClane go next?

Edgar Wright Gives an ANT-MAN Update

Edgar Wright's Ant-Man has landed in phase three of Marvel's cinematic plan, and I have no doubt that it's going to be awesome. Especially after the test footage we saw at Comic-Con. The script is completed, and apparently Marvel is really happy with it. This film has been in development for a very long time, and Wright recently talked to IGN, explaining why it's taken so long to get made.

I’ve been collaborating with [Marvel Studios Producer] Kevin [Feige] during the whole of that cycle. I think people have always assumed… ‘Oh why is it taking so long to make?’ Part of it is because I wanted to make two other movies first. I wanted to make World’s End… me and Simon were very keen to make it and it felt like it was unfinished business and we wanted to wrap up the trilogy. The script came together really fast. Well not really fast, but it came together at a certain point where it was like ‘I really want to do this next.’

But to be honest, the later I do it, it feels like I could learn more, especially about special effects. It’s a big effects movie, so I’m pleased to go into it having done Scott Pilgrim and The World’s End because you’re always learning more about that side.

Even thought the film will in some way be connected to the rest of the cinematic universe that Marvel has created, Wright explains that the film he's making can stand on its own.

It’s a way of doing a superhero film within another genre. I wanted to tell an origin tale in a slightly different way. It’s part of the Marvel cinematic universe, but it also feels like its own piece.

There's a good chance Ant-Man will show up in The Avengers sequel. Ant-Man will actually kick off Phase 3 of Marvel's cinematic universe on November 6th, 2015.

The 6-minute short comes from writer/director Benjamin Wong and focuses on an aging warrior haunted by his past and confronted by the future--a young and threatening samurai.

There's more emotion than action in the story, which is told purely through music and visuals, but there are some very iconic-looking slow motion shots. To find out more, visit their Official-Page

AMC has released a few new photos from the upcoming Season 3 episodes of The Walking Dead. Things looked pretty bad for some characters when we last saw them in the midseason finale. These new pictures give us a little tease of what's in store for us, and feel free to speculate on what they might mean!

With his group in tatters, his sanity in question, and his own son questioning his every move, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) must somehow pull everyone together to face their greatest challenge -- the Governor (David Morrissey). In order to survive, he must risk everything, including the group's very humanity.

The series is set to return on Sunday, February 10th at 9pm!

Here's a fun little '80s style intro to the series created by matincomedy

Matt Smith Joins Ryan Gosling's HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER

Doctor Who star Matt Smith has been cast in the lead role of Ryan Gosling's first directing gig, How to Catch a Monster. Smith will join Christina Hendriks and Eva Mendes, who were previously cast in the film.

This sounds like it's going to be a very cool movie. It's been described as a fantasy noir, modern day fairytale. The story is set against the "surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive."

This film will be Smith's first American film, and it seems like the perfect project for him to take on. This is turning out to be a very exciting project. It should be a fun project to follow, so stay tuned for more developments!

Check out this great trailer for a cool looking supernatural period thriller called The Monk, which stars Vincent Cassel (Black Swan). The movie is based on the 1796 Matthew G. Lewis gothic novel, and here's the synopsis:

Abandoned at birth at the gates of a Capuchin monastery in Madrid, Brother Ambrosio (Cassel), raised by the friars, grows up into a preacher admired far and wide for his fervor.  Ambrosio is feared for his righteousness and believes he is immune from temptation - until the arrival of a mysterious apprentice undermines his convictions and leads him down a dangerous path of sin, corruption and murder.

The movie will be released on VOD and get a limited theatrical release on March 8th, 2013. It looks like a solid film, and I'm looking forward to checking it out. What about you?

Cool First FINAL GIRL Trailer Shows Full Movie in 60 Seconds

Here's a cool and different kind of trailer for a great looking new thriller called Final Girl which stars Abigail Breslin. The movie was directed by photographer Tyler Shields. This is his first feature film, and he wanted to do something different for the trailer, so he shows the whole movie in 60 seconds, and I'm sold! If you haven't heard about this movie yet, I think some of you are going to like it.

Breslin plays a character named Loner Veronica, "a teen at a new school. She's shy and vulnerable - the perfect target for a group of teenage boys who lure girls into the woods to hunt and kill them for sport. It’s only after they get her alone that she turns the tables on them, escaping and revealing she’s armed and knows how to defend herself. Little do they know, Veronica is an assassin-in-training, and she’s chosen killing these boys as her final test. When the dust clears, Veronica will find out if she can be the final girl these boys ever have a chance to hurt."

I think it sounds and looks like it could be a pretty badass movie. Now check out the trailer!

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS New Photos and Entertainment Weekly Cover

Star Trek Into Darkness is my most anticipated movie of the year. The polarizing 2009 Star Trek is a really spectacular movie and must be one of the big reasons that J.J. Abrams is now doing Star Wars. I'm so glad that they were able to bring the whole cast back. The addition of Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain is brilliant; his dark menacing voice alone is enough to make me giddy with fanboy delight. I plan on watching it in IMAX 3D on May 15th before it's wider release in other formats on May 17th.

The movie stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller.

Synopsis: When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
