THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE - Fun UK Trailer

Following yesterday's new poster for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, here's a great new international UK trailer for the funny looking comedy about rival Vegas magicians. If you're wondering if it includes new footage... yes, yes it does.

This is a really fun concept, and it looks like they pulled it off. The film stars Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, James Gandolfini, Jay Mohr, and Michael Bully Herbig.

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult followingsurges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

The comedy will magically appear in theaters on March 15th, 2013!

Fan Made Oscar Nominated Movie Poster Art

Here's a cool series of fan-made poster art created by Dean Walton showcasing five of the nine films that have been nominated for Best Picture at the 2013 Academy Awards. I think there's a good chance that Argo could take the top prize, all of the films nominated are so good, that I actually wouldn't have a problem with any of them winning. The movies include Argo, Beasts of Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Mierables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, and Amour. I will admit though that I'm rooting for Django Unchained and Silver Linings Playbook. What movies are you rooting for?

Paramount Pictures has released an exciting new behind the scenes featurette for Star Trek Into Darkness. It features the cast and crew talking about how much bigger and more awesome the movie is going to be compared to the first film. I'm already sold on the movie, it looks amazing, and it's described in the video as being "relentless." There's also some footage shown throughout the featurette. Abrams just keeps upping the ante on his films, and this one is sure to make all of us fans very happy. I can't wait to see what he does with Star Wars!

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Star Trek Into Darkness opens in theaters on May 17th, and it stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Peter Weller, and Alice Eve. Enjoy the video!

Extremely Cool TRON Identity Disk Watch Designs

I'm not really a big watch guy, but I've got to admit that these Tron: Legacy inspired identity disk watch designs are pretty badass! These are concept designs created by a student named Alexander Morgan. Unfortunately the watches don't really exist, but if they did I'd definitely get myself one! The designs are simple yet so freakin' cool. They are a great representation of the films.

Will Gluck to Direct ANNIE for Will Smith and Jay-Z

Easy A director Will Gluck is in negotiations to direct a new big screen re-imagining of of the Broadway musical Annie for Sony Pictures. The movie is being produced by Will Smith and Shawn "JAY Z" Carter.

This time around the story will be set in modern times and follow the adventures of little orphan Annie as she tries to find a family to call her own. It's not confirmed but I imagine it will be a hip-hop version of the musical, which could actually be kind of cool.

Smith's daughter Willow was attached to star in the movie at one point, but not anymore. According to Variety, Gluck will revise the film's screenplay, which was originally written by Emma Thompson and then later rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna

As of right now there's no new casting on the film. What do you think of Gluck taking it on?

George Lucas Still Planning INDIANA JONES 5

It looks like the Indiana Jones franchise isn't dead yet. During a recent interview with Steven Spielberg and Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy it was revealed that the two could end up working together again on a fifth Indiana Jones movie. I honestly didn't think we would see anymore films in this franchise, but Spielberg tells THR,

I will not make another Indiana Jones film unless it's based on George's story.

He then adds that Lucas intends for that to happen. There's just no timetable for it at this point. Spielberg went on to say, "Kathy and I will figure out some way to work together again." She's currently locked in for 5 years with Lucasfilm. Who knows, if Lucas still has the itch for one more Indiana Jones film, there's a chance it could happen in the near future. If it does, we can only hope it will be better than the last film.

Duncan Jones Set to Direct WARCRAFT Movie!

I've got some awesomely badass news for you all! Moon director Duncan Jones is set to direct the big screen adaptation of Warcraft! This is the perfect project for Jones, and I can't wait to see what he does with it! Sam Raimi was going to direct it at one point, but dropped out to focus his attention on OZ The Great and Powerful.

The movie is set up at Legendary Pictures, and the script was written by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond). The goal is to start shooting the action adventure fantasy by the end of the year, with the hope of releasing it in theaters in 2015.

I'm so excited for Jones' new project, they guy is a huge gamer, and I know he's going to give us the epic movie we all want to see! There's no word yet on what the plot of the film will be, but I'm not worried. I'm sure it will be great! This is great!

Latest UFO Sighting Leaves Air Force Stumped

Two weeks ago Amherst Massachusetts residents mass reported a sighting of a "silent grey triangular ship" floating in the sky for a period, only to disappear and then reappear later that night. At first the local air force said they had no reports of a vehicle in the sky around that time, but then later said that it "could" have been one of their Air Force C5 cargo planes. After further prompting Lt. Col. James Bishop, Westover chief of public affairs said that it was "highly unlikely" that citizens of the town would match the incredibly large and noisy plane with the description mentioned. The initial news report on the incident can be found in the video below.

This isn't the first of odd occurrences in the sky in recent memory as random areas in the Midwest have been hearing "loud booms" coming from seemingly nowhere. So what's going on exactly? Aliens perhaps? More likely secret government testing I would reckon seeing as the description seems to match the X-37B which is an unmanned aircraft first spotted in June (see photo below). So maybe it was some sort of new spy craft having a test run? What do you think?

Tony Stark's in Big Trouble in this New IRON MAN 3 Poster!

Disney has released an awesome new poster for Marvel's Iron Man 3 featuring Tony Stark in big freakin' trouble. Looks like he's been shot out of the sky, and is free falling to his doom. He looks pretty jacked up. We know Stark's not going to die, at the same time I don't think the Hulk is going to jump in to save him this time.

The Shane Black directed movie comes out on May 3rd, and it's going to be epic! The movie also stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, and James Badge Dale, with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. If you want to watch the trailer again click here, and stay tuned for the Super Bowl spot!

Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Slayer arrives in theaters on March 1st, and here are some new posters and TV spots. It stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, and Ewan McGregor.

Synopsis:

Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

I personally am not interested in seeing this film, but may see it to kill time when it arrives in theaters. I had such high hopes with these fairy tale retellings as of late, but they have all been pretty lackluster. Check out the posters and TV spots:

New STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Villain Theory

$

Alright, we all know Benedict Cumberbatch is playing a villainous character named John Harrison in Star Trek Into Darkness, and there's some new speculation on the internet that the character might just end up being based on a character named Robert April. If you never watched the 1970s animated Star Trek series, then you would have no idea who this character is.

He appeared in an episode called "The Counter-Clock Incident", and was introduced as being the first Captain of the Star Ship Enterprise, before Christopher Pike. The story revolved around everyone on the Enterprise aging backwards, and April was able to figure out how to reverse the process. You can watch that episode here.

What interesting about this, is in the first 9-minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness there is a little girl in a hospital who is aging at an accelerated rate. For those of you who have seen it, Cumberbatch is there, and tells the father of the little girl played by Noel Clarke that he can cure her. I've got to say that's a pretty interesting connection, and it makes sense.

To solidify this claim, Drew McWeeny from HitFix says that he saw the name April on some early production design artwork, and Brendon Connelly from Bleeding Cool posted a section from the IDW tie-in comic book that includes the Robert April character introducing himself.

Now there's also the possibility that Peter Weller could be playing April in the film, and that Cumberbatch's role is still just the John Harrison guy. What do you think about this theory?

Zac Efron to Star in Akiva Goldsman's Supernatural Film THE FALLING

$

Akiva Goldsman has been something of a laughing stock in the geek community ever since he and Joel Schumacher killed the Batman franchise with Batman and Robin, but with his directorial debut Winter's Tale in the works, I smell a comeback. Now THR is reporting that Goldsman is teaming with former Disney Channel star Zac Efron on a new project, a supernatural thriller called The Falling.

Efron will star and also produce under his ridiculously-named production company Ninjas Runnin' Wild (then again, Goldsman is a grown ass man and his company is called Weed Road, so I guess ridiculousness is in the eye of the beholder).

As for the plot, we don't know much. THR calls it "an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being,"and stress that "every effort is being made to protect the logline" for the movie, so apparently secrecy is a top priority for this one. Goldsman and All You Need Is Kill writer Joby Harold - who is also producing The Fallen - were pitched the project from within Warner Bros., and the two knocked out an outline for the story. Now the search is on for a screenwriter and a director.

Though hating on Efron is apparently the "cool" thing to do, I actually think the guy has a lot of charisma and talent beyond his small screen and rom-com appearances so far. (Anyone who saw last year's Liberal Arts also got a look at his comedic chops.) As for Goldsman's involvement: that guy has one of the biggest hit and miss filmographies in Hollywood, so it's impossible to guess how this project will turn out, especially with the story being kept so tightly under wraps. We'll keep you posted with more info as it pops up.

Check out this cool Peanuts-inspired zombie tee shirt, which is currently for sale on TeeVolt. It is available in various colors for $12, and looks especially fantastic in black. I don't think that this is what Peanuts creator Charles Schultz had in mind for the characters, but they look cool none-the-less.

THE WOLVERINE - High Res Photo of an Intense Looking Logan

Here's a high resolution photo of a previously released image of Hugh Jackman looking like a badass in a slick looking suit in The Wolverine. The guy is ready to throw down. The photo was featured in this month's Empire magazine. One of the producers of the film Hutch Parker explained the story in a little bit more detail in an interview,

We pick up Logan in a very isolated state, full of self-loathing. He is sought out by a young Asian woman for reasons he doesn't fully understand, who is asking him to follow her to Japan where he is meant to reconnect with someone from his past.

And what you'll come to find is that this is someone he spent prison-time with in Nagasaki. And the legacy of that experience - effectively Logan saved him - is that this man is on his deathbed, and is looking to give him a gift, to thank him for the life he's had.

But this gift draws Logan into a very complex and very unexpected world within both contemporary Japan and, to some extent, the feudal history of Japan. He's so in isolation, so out of his element. It's a much more powerful distillation of his character than you've seen before.

Hugh Jackman added,

I still don't think we've seen the definitive Wolverine. And the longer I play the character, the more the desire to get him right grows. The more I speak to fans and explore his world, the more it means to me. I understand the character and the legacy and I don't feel, up to this movie, that we've completely lived up to that. So that's what I intend to do.

The Wolverine is being directed by James Mangold, and also stars Will Yun Lee, Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee. It's set to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013.

Charlize Theron to Star in Seth MacFarlane's Western Comedy

It looks like Charlize Theron could end up starring in Seth MacFarlane's new feature film comedy, a western called A Million Ways to Die in the West. She's currently in final negotiations, and if cast she'll star alongside MacFarlane in the film.

The movie has been described as a Blazing Saddles-style comedy that will include contemporary humor, "with one undercurrent being just how dangerous and painful life really was in the late 1800s."

The story "follows a sheepish farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend leave him. When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman."

I enjoy MacFarlane's style of comedy. Ted was great, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this new movie turns out. Theron would be great in it!

Jobs/Kutcher Photo Split Shows Similarities

At first I was in denial that Ashton Kutcher could pull off looking like Steve Jobs. That was before I saw this picture and mistook who was who. Looking closer it's clear which one is a picture of Kutcher, and which is an iconic image of the late Apple co-founder. While there have been some mixed reviews about the upcoming biopic jOBS, I have to admit I'm pretty interested to see if Kutcher can pull it off. If not, highschool students of the future will be doomed to referencing Pirates of Silicon Valley when learning about this great man.
