Paramount has announced that Anchorman: The Legend Continues will be released in theaters on December 10th, 2013! Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate will all be back to reprise their roles in the sequel. There's also a possibility that Kristen Wiig will be joining the cast as Carell's love interest.

The movie is being directed by Adam McKay, and the story follows the on-set adventures of San Diego’s top newsman, and it was previously revealed that it will partly be a musical, so that's something to look forward to! I'm surprised the movie is getting made, I never thought it would happen. But it is, and I'm happy.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's TEN Has a Release Date

Open Road Films has set the release date for the Arnold Schwarzenegger action thriller Ten for January 24th, 2014. The movie is being directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Training Day).

Schwarzengger plays the leader of "an elite DEA task force dealing with the world's deadliest drug cartels. Specializing in complex mobile operations, the team executes a tactical raid on a cartel safe house. What looks to be a typical raid turns out to be an elaborate theft operation, pre-planned by the DEA squad. After hiding millions in stolen cash, the team believes their secret is safe – until someone begins assassinating them one by one."

Ayer has made some pretty badass films in his career, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with Schwarzenegger in this movie. Ten also stars Sam Worthington, Josh Holloway, Malin Akerman, Terrence Howard, Mireille Enos, Joe Mangianello, Olivia Williams, Max Martini and Dawn Olivieri.

Red-Band Trailer for THE HEAT with Bullock and McCarthy

A new red-band trailer has been released for the ridiculous looking over-the-top comedy called The Heat. It stars Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock as a couple of mismatched Boston P.D. detectives that team up to bring down a drug lord. It looks like there will be a few funny parts in the movie, but I'm not overly excited about it. It's definitely not a film I would pay to see in theaters.

Synopsis:

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of “Bridesmaids.”

The film also stars Demián BichirMarlon Wayans, and Michael RapaportThe Heat comes out on April 5th 2013. Watch the red-band trailer and let us know if you think it looks like something you'd want to see.

THE GREAT GATSBY - New Posters with DiCaprio and Mulligan

Two more great character posters have been released for Baz Luhrmann's great looking big screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby. These two posters feature Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan. To check out the previously released cahracter posters click here. I love the style of this movie.

The movie hits theaters on May 10th, 2013. It also stars Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Elizabeth Debicki and Amitabh Bachchan.

The Great Gatsby follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

GODZILLA Movie Update from Dan Lin

After seeing the first bit of teaser footage from Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla reboot at Comic-Con this year, I couldn't be more excited for the film! It was such a cool experience and the crowd went crazy. Collider caught up with producer Dan Lin and asked for an update on the film which is supposed to start shooting next spring. Here's what he had to say,

We’re planning to film in March.  We are in deep pre-production.  Gareth [Edwards] has really mapped out his vision for the movie, you saw the teaser, but Gareth—thanks to [Legendary CEO] Thomas Tull’s help—he took over a whole stage on the Warner Brothers lot and not only showed the teaser you saw, he had some models built of Godzilla, he had art decorated all over the soundstage, he had pre-vis of some of the big action sequences in the movie.

So we’re in deep pre-production and Gareth’s vision of the movie is really exciting, it’s a true reboot of Godzilla.  And you saw from the Comic-Con footage it is a grounded, realistic version of Godzilla.  What would happen if Godzilla came into our world today?

If you saw the Comic-Con footage then you know the feeling of the awesomeness. This was one of those movies I didn't really care about until I saw the footage. After that I was sold, I wasn't expecting that, and I can't wait to see more! I'm pretty sure it will blow audiences away.

First Look at Tom Hardy in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD!

Our first badass look of Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road comes to us in the form of an autographed image from the actor. Hardy replaces Mel Gibson in the role, and it looks like Hardy is going to own it, he looks great.

According to Miller, "Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived."

The movie also stars Charlize Theron (Monster, Prometheus) as Imperator Furiosa; Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (Mad Max, Sleeping Beauty) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (Conan the Barbarian) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz(X-Men: First Class) plays Toast; Riley Keough (Magic Mike) is Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) is Splendid. They are joined by supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

Fury Road is expected to be released in the summer of 2014. What do you think of Hardy's Mad Max look?

BIOSHOCK: INFINITE - Watch the Game's First Few Atmospheric Minutes

BioShock: Infinite is a game that I wish would just come out already. No, not because I want to make sweet, video game love to it (I do), but the process of this game's arrival has gone on for what seems like forever and we don't need to wait any longer. Delays after delays and all that silly badmouthing of the cover-art just aggravates me. Is it just me? I don't know. It's probably just because I am so attached to this series and see it as a guiding light of intellect in the industry. Irrational Games need to make me happy. Now.

The first few minutes of the game contains a lot of atmosphere, some cool imagery, and a bell-ringing puzzle. It's quite a different look at the game compared to the other material put out; no blue skies or swinging around with a claw-hand here, just a slow look at the environment. I'm digging the very Bioshock feel of the opening, and I hope it continues throughout the game. I'm all in, yo.

Legendary Pictures has released two official images from the Godzilla teaser that was screened for fans at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. I wish they would just release the footage online already, but we'll take what we can get. The footage blew the fans away, and I'm excited to see what they end up doing for this movie.

The two photos released show us a glimpse of the giant monster, and the second image shows us the destruction that it caused. The movie is deep in pre-production and director Gareth Edwards will start shooting the movie in March of next year with aim for a May 16th, 2014 release.

Damon Lindelof Explains Why He's Not Doing PROMETHEUS 2

Prometheus didn't seem to meet the expectations of fans, I personally thought the movie was very fun and entertaining regardless of its imperfections. I've noticed a lot of fans blame Damon Lindelof for that, not sure why because Ridley Scott directed the film and had helped develop the story as well. But, for those of you who do lay the blame on Lindelof's shoulders, which is ridiculous, you'll be happy to know that he won't be working on the sequel. When Collider asked Lindelof if he would be writing the script this is what he said,

I am not.  Ridley [Scott] and I talked at great length during the story process of the first movie about what subsequent movies would be if Prometheus were to be successful.  And I think that the movie ended in a very specific way that hinted at, or strongly implied that there were going to be continuing adventures worthy of writing stories.  What those stories would be would not necessarily usurp or transcend the Alien franchise as we saw it because we know that the Nostromo hasn’t come along yet.  So the idea was to set up a universe that… Is it a prequel?  Okay.  If that’s what we want to call it, sure.  But the sequel to this movie is not Alien.  The sequel to this movie is this other thing.

The thing about Prometheus was it was a rewrite.  Jon Spaihts wrote a script and I rewrote it.  And still it was a year of my life that I spent on Prometheus, kind of all in.  The idea of building a sequel to it—from the ground up this time—with Ridley is tremendously exciting.  But at the same time, I was like, 'Well that’s probably going to be two years of my life.'  I can’t do what J.J. [Abrams] does.   I don’t have the capability.  I’m usually very single-minded creatively.  I can only be working on one thing at a time.  So I said to him, 'I really don’t think I could start working on this movie until I do this other stuff.  And I don’t know when the other stuff is going to be done.'  And he was like, 'Well, okay, it’s not like I asked you anyways.'  He and I are on excellent terms and it was a dream come true to work with him.  But much to the delight of all the fanboys, I don’t see myself being involved in Prometheus-er.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the story will go in the sequel. What do you think about what Lindelof had to say and his decision to not to be involved with the sequel?

New Trailer for Tina Fey and Paul Rudd's Comedy ADMISSION

A new trailer has been released for Tina Fey and Paul Rudd's new comedy Admission. The film was directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie, About a Boy), and the story follows a college counselor (Fey) whose life is turned upside down when she crosses paths with the son she gave up for adoption years earlier. Rudd plays an old classmate of hers who happens to be her son's teacher.

I'm a fan of both Fey and Rudd, and this movie looks like it could be a solid comedy. The movie also stars Michael Sheen, Gloria Reuben, Wallace Shawn, and Lily Tomlin. It will be released in theaters on March 8th, 2013.

Synopsis:

Fey is plays Portia Nathan, an admissions officer at PrincetonUniversity. Evaluating thousands of hopeful college students, the exceedingly bright and driven woman lives her life by the book, both at work and in her relationship with a faculty colleague, Mark (Sheen). Visiting an experimental New Hampshire high school submitting applicants, Portia is caught off guard when its co-founder John Halsey (Rudd) turns out to have attended college with her. She is then floored when reminded of the life-altering decision that she made while still a student herself; she had a son, who she gave up for adoption, and who she now realizes may be one of John's students, the precocious misfit Jeremiah. As Portia's emotions surge forth, she finds her life turning upside down in embarrassing ways and begins to bend the admissions rules – in the hopes of getting Jeremiah on the best path while perhaps righting her own as well.

STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT ONLINE - New Artwork from the Cancelled 2010 Game

$

Many fans of the Star Wars franchise were anxiously awaiting the Star Wars: Battlefront III game years ago. Unfortunately, LucasArts felt the need to pull the cord on it, a game that seemed to be pretty close to done. But did you know they actually had another Star Wars title that they also cancelled?

Star Wars: Battlefront Online was in development back in 2010 before receiving the cancel orders. This game was being developed by the same people that brought us Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the good folks over at Slant Six Games. Now in retrospect, especially after seeing how RE:ORC turned out, that cancellation was probably a good idea.

It looks as if LucasArts was trying to cash in more on the whole “online multiplayer” aspect of games. Who can really blame them?! When it was first revealed that SW:BF3 was in development, most people got excited over a possible multiplayer mode of the game.

Now all we have are these pieces of artwork of the game that would have been. One cannot help but think, did LucasArts get any of this stuff into Star Wars: The Old Republic somehow? Either way, the company needs to focus more on console games before the demand runs out.

Will Loki Show Up in THE AVENGERS 2?

Joss Whendon recently turned in an outline for The Avengers 2, we have no idea what it will involve other than a team of superheroes fighting some villains. He also recently hinted that we might end up seeing a few more heroes in the sequel, but what villains will they be taking on? Will Loki be back for more trouble? Will he even be involved with the sequel? Tom Hiddleson was asked about his involvement in an interview with MSN, and it sounds like he isn't really sure,

I don't know, and that really is the honest answer. I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea, I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight. But I'd love to be part of it again.

I don't think Loki should be the main villain in the sequel, but I also wouldn't mind him making an appearance. I really like the character, and if there's a place for him in the story that would be cool. I think most of us just assume the main villain in the movie will end up being the Mad Titan Thanos, but there's a possibility he might be the villain in Gaurdians of the Galaxy.

While we're on the subject of future Marvel movies, Samuel L. Jackson is currently making the press rounds for Django Unchained and in an interview with Movies.com he was asked if he would be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy, to which he replied...

No, Cap 2, then nothing until The Avengers 2, but that's in 2014. Hopefully they'll throw me another Star Wars movie.

The Avengers 2 will be released on May 1st, 2015, and Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st, 2014. Who would you like to see as the main villain in The Avengers 2?

New JACK REACHER Featurette - Chevelle

I saw Jack Reacher a couple of days ago, and the movie was freakin' awesome! The movie was humorous and action-packed. This is a movie franchise I would like to see continue. I think it's one of Cruise's most entertaining films, and I'd rather see more Jack Reacher movies than Mission: Impossible movies. The character is just so much more badass. I had a blast watching the movie.

Paramount Pictures has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the film that focuses on the main car chase scene in the movie involving a Chevelle. And yes, Cruise was also the stunt driver in the car. The film hits theaters on December 21st 2012. Make sure to check it out!

When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: "Get Jack Reacher!" So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

Game Inspired Movie Posters Featuring Mario, Metroid and More

There are a bunch of gaming inspired movies coming out in the next few years. Hollywood is currently getting started on an Assassin’s Creed movie, as well as Splinter Cell and Angry Birds movies. But we all know there are countless other movies that could get some big screen love.

Take a look at these pieces of art from Ian Wilding. He has come up with movie posters for faux video game movies including, Super Mario Galaxy, Shadow of the Colossus, Portal and Super Metroid. Out of all of these, I think a Metroid and a Colossus movie would have the best chance.

As you already know, we haven't had a great success record when it comes to video game films (remember Prince of Persia, Super Mario Bros. The Movie, and Street Fighter?) What other games do you think they should turn into movies?
